2681  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Journey of a successful trader on: February 19, 2022, 09:38:31 PM
Don't you forget your psychological behavior towards trading as it was more crucial than anything else. You may have a perfect system, a trading plan, etc. but if your resolve towards this journey isn't firm then consider it as a failure in the very beginning. Maybe you can put that on the list.
Whether you do like or not you would definitely able to experience it and for you to sustain and survive on this unpredictable market then you should consider on developing this
because its true that no matter how perfect the system you do have if you do sucks on handling out your emotion then you would just simply commit out mistakes.
This would be the main reason on why you would definitely fail which means that this area would needing to be that handled or developed well.
You would not succeed in trading if you don't have the right attitude on it. Not just in trading, but in all aspects being able to manage your emotions is very essential as you don't want to end up embarking on a wrong tree. And as far as i'm concerned, that's already given in the first place before you decide to take the risk in trading, otherwise trading will not fit for you.
2682  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin failed to fulfill the purpose it was created for ? on: February 19, 2022, 09:18:33 PM
It's a work in progress, Bitcoin can't be a Fiat alternative without fighting some war with centralised entities first and this can take years to accomplish and we shouldn't worry ourselves over it, my belief is bitcoin will make it happen anyways.
Well, not everyone would think like that since I believe both fiat and Bitcoin should exist at the same time. They can't eliminate fiat and switch to Bitcoin since only fiat is being controlled by the government therefore, they can have it while owning a Bitcoin will remain in your own wallet and you are free to use it as you may. So it's just up to the people if they want fiat or Bitcoin, as long as there is a merchant who could accept Bitcoin or fiat if someone wants to withdraw.

So choosing between fiat and Bitcoin is still on a big debate.
In actual it depends on time and on the people and on the technology of future but in this time it seems that usage of bitcoin is more convenient for people as nowadays many of the purchases are done via online services and for fiat people feel it difficult to go through complicated processes of online payment processors. If the usage of bitcoin is allowed by the authorities without any restrictions then people will like to choose bitcoin to use for their daily transactions.
If all the transactions will be done online, then bitcoin will definitely fit for it. But most of the people still prefer fiat because they are used to it especially in the case for older citizens as they are not totally inclined with using new technology payment system. However, i would say that bitcoin has not failed in its own goal because some countries at the moment are already starting to establish solid proofs about bitcoin before they will consider adopting it as a currency. And bitcoin does not end here, good things will certainly happen in the future and maybe by that time, bitcoin will be used already as an alternative to fiat.
2683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine Just Legalized Bitcoin on: February 19, 2022, 08:49:42 PM
Ukraine's parliament has supposed a new law that legalises cryptocurrency. The bill was adopted in a near-unanimous vote on Wednesday and needed to be signed by President of Ukraine 'Volodymyr Zelensky'. From today, trading or vendoring in crypto in Ukraine has existed in a legal grey area. Local peoples are now permitted to buy, sell and exchange cryptocurrencies, but law enforcement will often see companies and exchanges dealing in crypto.
Ukraine's crypto law does not promote bitcoin as a form of payment or legal tender or does not put Bitcoin on an equal floor with the hryvnia (Ukraine's national currency).

Sources: https://www.thestreet.com/investing/bitcoin-goes-to-war-ukraine-legalizes-cryptos-as-russia-pressures-build

They aren't promoting Bitcoin but they are legalizing Bitcoin on the other side. If that tends not to promote then this makes no sense.
Or this seems to be a conflict of interest that triggers Ukraine to follow Russia legalizing Bitcoin. I hope not but to consider this as a serious deal and really accepting Bitcoin in their country. While seeing this, the Ukrainian government is in the way of helping their people to live comfortably and more advanced.
The legalization of bitcoin and crypto in Ukraine maybe has something to do with Russia but i believe their focus is on attracting foreign investors through crypto that will help to regain their down economy. And i guess they have been eyeing El Salvador for a while that made them decide to accept crypto too and legalize bitcoin mining and trading, but definitely they are not making bitcoin as their official currency. It may take a lot of realizations before they will consider bitcoin as their new legal tender.
2684  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 19, 2022, 12:14:57 PM
so that means it will be very unpredictable but always bet on your favorite player to win to enjoy watching the event.

That's what makes the 3 point shooting contest more entertaining because we don't have a heavy favorite like Curry.  4 players with the same odds, 5.50.. but not sure the winner will be coming from the 4, who knows, maybe Zach Lavine will take this one. Anyway, just choose wisely and don't forget to enjoy the all star 3 point shooting contest.
You only need to choose one, you are lucky if you win but always enjoy the all star as it's more unpredictable compared to the regular season games. This only happens once a year, and this time of the year the fans of the NBA will be given a chance to see the all stars playing against each other, so don's miss it, and as a gambler, don't miss gambling on games.
2685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 19, 2022, 11:41:45 AM
^Cheers Dave. You got it both right.
In my case, not perfect but a satisfying one as I added a parlay for both Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo to achieve a double-double.
I wanted to add Embiid to the line but Stake.com doesn't allow the same game multi-bet just yet. Maybe in the future, they will also bring one like a betbuilder in sportsbet.
All-Star guys! Lines are already open so you might want to analyze it now.  Wink
Jalen Green - Slam Dunk fave.
Fred Vanvleet and Patty Mills - 3 point contest faves.
Giannis - All-Star MVP fave.

Thanks mate, you too, congrats on your winning. At least we end the first half of the regular season with a good win.

Lots of good entry for the slam dunk contest, but I agree with your picks, Jalen Green and Cole Anthony.

If I'm not mistaken, Mills is on the top of the 3 as far as percentage so definitely he will also be the favorite to win. Maybe my dark horse is Luke Kennard.

Giannis is very athletic and he is still hungry for greatness, so I guess he can win the MVP again, it will be a back to back MVP award for him. On the dunk contest, that's very unpredictable, same with the 3 point shooting IMO.

And it seems that Giannis the favorite to win the MVP again?
He is still the favorite to win but the odds for Giannis is still very attractive. I can get  5.18 odds for Giannis.

And then Team Lebron at 1.43 ML against Team Durant at 2.80, this might be a good time to bet on the underdogs at ML.

3 point shot, yeah I like Kennard's chances here.

I am with you, Team Durant is an underdog so I would also choose them to win, I would not gamble on 1.43 odds in an all star, they are just having fun, so upset is possible.
2686  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bear vs Bull : The Beauty Of Cryptocurrency on: February 18, 2022, 09:47:48 PM
It is a matter of how people respond to the abrupt changes in the market. Many had sold their crypto during the bear season for they are worried about the market will going to drop more without realizing that they can still make a profit upon waiting for the recovery. I'd see that FEAR is a big problem in most of us here, uncontrollable emotions trigger unwanted decisions that make us regret. I'm into that situation before but I realize that we can make it right if we are optimistic about the market flow.
With all the events that make the crypto market unpredictable, we can't be more profitable if we always have fear inside. Instead, we should be more risk takers as there can be no possible big changes that will take place if we never dare to take the risk. And yes, being more optimistic too could always give us an edge so we can make more profits regardless of the current season, be it bullish or bearish. But one thing is certain, bull and bear have always bring opportunities not to lose but to offer us profits.
2687  Economy / Economics / Re: Why many USA senator against bitcoin? on: February 18, 2022, 09:15:32 PM
We have seen there are miscellaneous reactions about bitcoin among US senators. On one side Colorado Governor Jared Schutz Polis announced that "his state will begin accepting Bitcoin for tax payments starting this summer" on the other hand Senators Jim Risch, Bill Cassidy, and Bob Mendez look aggressive against any step towards bitcoin implementations.

Some said using bitcoin as payments instead of US dollars will demolish the sanction power of the USA towards other countries. Do they fear bitcoin for losing control over the world economy or do they know the adoption of bitcoin will diminish the unchallenged sovereignty of USD?

The US dollar is the world reserve financial instrument and yes they fear bitcoin.  It's fair though, most people fear what they don't understand.  With all the dumb stories about it being a criminally used instrument they dont trust it.  And if they don't have any and the people that do become the new 1% that leaves them in the company of regular people like us again lol.
But we can't conclude that all US senators are thinking the same way. Some have wider knowledge on bitcoin that made them think that they don't have to fear bitcoin as it won't be replacing their legal currency anyway. While most of the senators have negative critics towards bitcoin and they only believe from one sided stories, not even open on how positive bitcoin will be in the future.
2688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I’m planning to surprise my soon-to-be-bride sister some BTC on her wedding day on: February 17, 2022, 11:19:13 PM

I think it's difficult for this part, I personally introduce crypto to my husband, it's difficult, if there is no intention to know and find out,
I hope your sister's future husband is not like my husband  Grin
those who are lay and new to what crypto is indeed difficult to introduce. They think they don't want to spend their money in vain just to invest in crypto which has a high risk. knowledge of crypto should be given slowly, should set an example like making some investments. Early education is very important so that they don't just think negatively about crypto.
Its always an advantage if one can be well knowledgeable and is not fearful in taking risk when deciding to invest in crypto. And if OP's sister is capable to be like that, then gifting her with bitcoin is definitely a good idea. Bitcoin can be very versatile and has chances to be more valuable in the near future, but OP you should also make aware your sister how unpredictable and volatile bitcoin is.  That way, she can decide for herself if she can be able to manage that or not.
2689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 14, 2022, 09:40:24 PM

And in those 1 lost, it was very close as it could go into OT and they have a chance to win.

I'm not sure if there will be an upset though, the Warriors can't afford another lose against a team that doesn't have a good record. They've almost lost the last time against the Lakers if not for Klay's shooting in the fourth. They shouldn't put themselves like in this hole again. They should take the lead and not allow the Clippers, so Golden State -6.5.

Good point, they should not allow their opponents to rally back and almost win against them. That early lead should be handled properly

Klay might not have that same momentum, still fresh with how he hits those important basket to cut and tied the scores very impressive.

The Warriors especially Steph really trusting him, they know that Klay is already back and will lift them to win.

You can see on his numbers, he is really back and he is also doing some improvement on defense though I believe it's not his main responsibility as we know how fragile his situation is now. He is back but not 100% healthy, that's why their defense struggles a bit, but what matters is that they continue to improve and win games, unfortunately not good for bettors backing them as they have not been covering spread lately.
2690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata - Reschedule on: February 14, 2022, 09:14:20 PM

Still this must be exasperating for someone like GGG that does not have time as his ally due to his age while at the same time all of this works on Murata’s favor.

Nah, I can't underestimate GGG even at his age now, he is still powerful and a strong fighter and I have a feeling that Murato would not last against GGG and still GGG will beat his opponent, probably by KO. I know that our opinion maybe different because we are bias, but for me, I will stick with my belief that GGG will dominate here and age is not his disadvantage.
2691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why a single bet is better than a multi bet. on: February 14, 2022, 07:59:53 PM
It just depends on how much risk you are willing to take as a player. There are players who prefer to bet around 1.30 odds so that they are favorites.
I do that in some occasions but I don't experience being profitable in the long run. Imagine, with 1.30 odds, you need to win at least 3 games so you'll get a return of 90% of your bet, I think it's not easily if you look at the big picture.

I also know people who do that through a multibet, and then they take 5-6 games around 1.05 odds. You are then a strong favorite to win every match, but the problem is that you can't have anything wrong. It has its pros and cons. With a single bet you can focus on 1 game.
Same with this kind of strategy, I also made an experiment on this strategy and it still disappoint me in the end, the best strategy that I'm still using until now is just the single bet.
2692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ancajas vs Martinez - Feb 19, 2022 on: February 14, 2022, 07:38:47 PM

You can tell it's a wrong decision but he was brave enough to test his limit, and he did the right thing because he gets more popular although his attempt failed. Donaire is now a champion, probably the oldest champion ( correct me if I'm wrong).

Donaire has no rumored fight this year, but for sure there's one coming now that Inoeu and Donaire have no fight scheduled this year yet. It still depends on their promoter, and knowing Top Rank, they want a bigger fight always that their fighter has a good chance of winning, and Donaire should be a good target.

Donaire might be the best fit if in terms of a good money fight, but we never know if they are in plan to discuss this as there's no update yet.

That last fight from these two fighters provides entertainment to the fans, though it was Inoue who shine but we see how Donaire tried his

best shot to beat the young monster. skills wise, Inoue has that edge against our old Nonito. Maybe if ever top rank will choose between

Donaire and Casimero, they will pick Donaire..  Wink

Obviously, they will pick Donaire as revenue-wise Donaire has an advantage over Casimero and Inoue already beat Donaire so there's no reason at all to be afraid of. Besides he is a monster, by the name itself, he should be willing to fight everyone as long as the price is right, if you know what I mean.
2693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 14, 2022, 07:20:37 PM
They were great because Draymond was there, but you have to remember that Draymond is injured and without him, the defensive side of the warriors are a little weak. Wait until Draymond Green will come back and you'll see an old Warriors that are very dominant.
A big plus whenever he is around with a high percentage of winning the game.
Chemistry had been a big factor for the Warriors team to win games with almost a perfect defensive and offensive line and in the middle of it all is Draymond Green.
He handles the ball and no one defends him like how they defend Steph, he is literally always open that's why his field of vision in making plays is wide. Same with his defensive stance, even big men are having a hard time with him and he talks a lot to keep everyone in line. If I am right, he will be back after the All-Star and we will see a different Warriors again.

I think the Warriors have adjusted their defense in the absence of Green. Everyone has really helping each other in the middle. Of course it's different when you have Draymond in the game because of his intensity and presence. But they were able to do some work around, and just buying some time before he can fully recovered and back in the line up again.

They have to and they really made an adjustment, however, they are still better defensively with Draymond Green. I expect some inconsistency from them until Draymond is back, their defense will be their make key problem, but that would be overshadowed by their good offense as they got Klay Thompson already who sometimes lead the team to win.
2694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake Wagered $1.3 million in super bowl bet using bitcoin on: February 14, 2022, 02:23:49 PM
Is this is paid publicity? I'm just curious, but regardless, I still like the fact that a celebrity is not afraid of risking huge money using a crypto sportsbook. Stake is already popular in the crypto space, but with this publicity, for sure they will be more popular, and it will not end there as the whole crypto gambling world will benefit from this kind of publicity.
2695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Shakur Stevenson vs Oscar Valdez 130-pound Title Unification Fight on: February 14, 2022, 02:05:27 PM
^^  I think majority here will bet on Valdez as he will be the underdog.
Stevenson though is also have a good record, even defeating Herring in his last fight.
But Valdez is also a champion and ever since he won the belt, it seems that he is not going to lose a fight. There could be swing as far as the betting goes, and we might see some flip, I reckon and Valdez will be the favorite as the fight gets closer.

If that would happen, then it's high time to put our bet once the odds are available, betting on our favorite fighter to win with a good odds is just a fulfillment, and we are just going to wait and see the fight in the fight night. Of course, Valdes has a lot of fans here because he is a very entertaining fighter, and most bettors see it as their basis on betting.
2696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: February 14, 2022, 01:24:09 PM
I believe that Ginebra is a good 2nd half team and they'll take care of the business, good luck to that ML bet.

Unfortunately Bolts wins the game, 101-95, close game but Bolts is more on the business they are the one who take the entire 2nd half, making sure that the rally will not continue in the 2nd half, Both imports performed so well but the contributions from the locals is the key to win. Nothing to say since they are all doing what they know is best but only one team will win, congrats to Bolts fans/bettors. Roll Eyes Wink

I was wrong believing Ginebra would have a good 2nd half, it's still the bolts who dominated the game and their winning streak continues. They have a good import this conference, so I think they'll be a team to beat and most probably a team that will go to the Finals. If Bolts and Ginebra will face, obviously I'm still with the Ginebra.

Sometimes Ginebra had a bad game, they fought hard but they still lose, at least now there are some teams who are unexpected to dominate and Meralco is just doing very well so far. I agree with you that during the Finals, Ginebra is going to be the favorites despite they are not in the number of standing now, and as I heard on the news, I guess they'll start allowing audience in the arena, and for sure that would help Ginebra as they have the biggest fan base.
2697  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buy more so you can sell some on: February 13, 2022, 09:45:49 PM
I want to buy some coins for a while.  From which I will get a good amount of profit.  Let me know if there are any coins like this.  The cryptocurrency market is going very bad now.  If I buy some coins now, it seems that I will get a good profit from it when the price of Egular rises in the future.  I think the market conditions will be good in the future and when it is good I will be able to take a good amount of profit from these.  With that in mind, I decided to hold some coins.
You are not new here but you still sound like a newbie when it comes to this things. If you spend less, well expect that you can also get less returns but that is more realistic that those who promise you that you can earn massive not until you find out that you have been scammed later on. Only those projects that promise that are hype projects.

The only way to increase the profit that you get on legit projects is by rolling them, I mean sell at high and then buy again when they are low. Repeat the process. Another thing that can help you increase your earning is by holding your coins a little longer. This is already proven and tested.
Invest on the top and established coins in the market. That way, you will make more profits when bull run happens and use the profits to buy back the same potential coins when their prices at low. However, long term holding is more effective if you aim for huge profits and bitcoin is more proven to make it more possible. But just a reminder that there is no guarantee for bitcoin to be always on the top, that is why its more risky to hold for a very long term knowing that there are still chances to lose in the end.
2698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not a safe haven for criminals on: February 13, 2022, 09:28:21 PM
Recently, I went through the article about the biggest cryptocurrency fraud in history executed by a married couple.  Ilya Lichtenstein and Heather Morgan, husband, and wife, have been tracked down by the FBI for laundering 119,754 bitcoins from Bitfinex five years ago. After many attempts to rinse the money through chain hopping on numerous anonymity enhanced cryptocurrencies like monero. The FBI was able to apprehend them.

I want to know, what else does the government want to regulate the cryptocurrency blockchain for if the FBI can perform such a rigorous search on all the virtual accounts that have been created online by the couple? And found the private key linked to the wallet that received the funds, and they recovered over $3.5 billion and recorded it as the biggest seizure in the cryptocurrency niche.

Quote
“Criminals always leave tracks, and today’s case is a reminder that the FBI has the tools to follow the digital trail, wherever it may lead,” said FBI Deputy Director Paul M. Abbate.

I think the transaction the Government cannot track in the block-chain technology has not be made. FBI claim that they will endeavor to trace any fraudulent activity in the cryptocurreny network through their 21st century investigative technique. (I don't know what they mean by that)

Quote

Read:
https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/two-arrested-alleged-conspiracy-launder-45-billion-stolen-cryptocurrency
After that success of FBI now the governments may change their mind for bitcoin. Now they cannot deny the fact that bitcoin is safe for fraud and if someone will do money laundering then they will be caught.

The bitcoin community is thankful to the FBI that they helped those who lost their money because of this hack. It will increase the courage of people who want to adopt bitcoin for their personal lives and for their businesses.
With bitcoin's transparency, it will always give a hard time for scammers and other criminal acts to succeed. They may enjoy the stolen money temporarily, but know that they will always be traced later on. That gives more advantage to use bitcoin as everything is transparent compared to fiat that is more dubious and questionable. That is why money fraudulence and laundering is rampant in fiat while in bitcoin its more controlled.
2699  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you regret when you miss selling at ATH followed by a correction on: February 13, 2022, 08:37:27 PM
It often become a good opportunity when you sell at a peak and after that the correction come and you buy again with low price but many people miss that opportunity who then regret but I do not regret when I miss that opportunity because I do not do greed and remain satisfied with my current amount of coins and I know in the future the price will grow again to another ATH and my current coins are enough to give me enough profit. With this thought I keep myself tension free.

What is your views and conditions at that time?
indeed there is a little regret i didn't sell at ATH last time, i kept thinking if at that time i sold my bitcoin then now i can buy it back and my bitcoin becomes double.  but that's all in the past, all i can do right now is buy slowly when the market dips now.  in-depth analysis still needs to be done so as not to buy the wrong coin when the market dip.
There's no room for regrets in crypto, as you still have more chances to sell when bitcoin reaches new ATH. But if i were you, learn to set a target selling price because that will be your guide when to sell and make profits, and then just buy back again when the market creates another correction.

2700  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Giving Bitcoin to Employees on: February 13, 2022, 08:11:32 PM
But I'd prefer them to have the pure asset over the long haul.

Please don't force bitcoin down their throats. Go with what they prefer, not what you would. Especially taking note that a lot of employees live paycheck to paycheck, and exposing them to short-mid term volatility would probably not be the right move.

actually, this is a dilemma, many entrepreneurs actually want to pay employees with bitcoin but education on crypto is still not good so they are worried that when the price drops, they will think that their boss is doing a scam.  but if each employee is given the choice of being paid via bitcoin or fiat then that is a great freedom for the employee.
For those who are not familiar about bitcoin, they will think its a scam. But for those who know well about bitcoin, it will be an advantage for them. However, we cannot expect for most of them to accept bitcoin if its given as a monthly wage since bitcoin is not yet accepted as a  medium of exchange in most of the countries. But if its given as a bonus, then why not. It will be a great asset in the future as long as the owner itself knows how to manage his own bitcoin and make it double or triple from the current value.
