2681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Doge coin of fire, the master is now on the throne on: November 01, 2022, 05:12:21 AM
Up again now by 2 % with still 103% in the last 7 days.

How I missed this news , had sold all my Dogecoin in June , this is truly a bad news for me and hoping to ride with the increase anytime soon.

Have you noticed the bull run with dogecoin when Elon musk got hold of tweeter. Dogecoin is around $0.13 now. This is no surprise for dogecoin hodlers I believe and now that Elon is in charge more bull soon is expected.

Do you think the bull is from the increase of bitcoin to $20k or because Elon musk is on the tweeter throne. What is our thoughts ?

The doge's price increase in recent days is definitely related to the news that Elon successfully bought twitter and not to bitcoin. Doge is easily manipulated by Elon at any time. It will be interesting if Elon becomes a part of twitter, the coin will continue to increase in price despite the drop of bitcoin.

But does this Hype will last long ? or will just another short time pumping? like what we had in 2021?

and now it is 134% mate and this is truly another remarkable movement for Dogecoin

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dogecoin/

Did not see this coming because I'm afraid something like last year will happen again  , things that really made me decide differently .
maybe this whole week will be a Dogeweek?

Naysayers are worried the price shoots up too high in a matter of days. It was just $0.06 last week and it doubled already. Can't wait for it to go more than $0.50 again. The dogecoinmillaire youtube suddenly woke up to show his Robinhood again lol

Does anyone really heard something from Elon about his plan for Doge?
I saw his interview recently but he didn't mention anything about Doge.
2682  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bull or bear November? on: November 01, 2022, 01:10:45 AM

I am going to foolishly say we are going to have a bearish November. I don’t have any real reason, except that October felt too bullish to me. I think the next jump in price is going to be from FTX releasing a stablecoin, but I think expecting that to happen within the next 30 days is a bit optimistic. I’m overall bullish, but I think there’s a good chance the price could be lower in 30 days.

Maybe because I've already bought some which made me a bit optimistic as well. But seeing there is a bit of a green market in different DEXes that I have been I think it simulates the last bull market back in 2021 and the price of BTC had been very stable for a few months.

In the back of my mind, I'm also doubting since the report I've seen recently was that miners are still selling heavily to cover their expenses, and miners in China sell all the time since they get almost free energy.
2683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts when all Bitcoins are mined? on: October 31, 2022, 02:52:53 AM
Bitcoin fees will be pretty much expensive and doesn't worth if you made small transaction, I think before all Bitcoin are mined, everyone already adopt Lightning network.

Theoretically Bitcoin price should be worth for at least one million due to miner doesn't any mining reward and people who use Bitcoin will need to pay higher fee, which make Bitcoin even more scarcer. But we're currently have mined more than 80% of all Bitcoin, we don't need to wait until 2140 to see what's the next will happen to Bitcoin.

The adoption of LN is faster than we know and I think Twitter will have something to do with it. Everyone will be on board when all other social media sites are going to also adopt crypto. Making transactions on BTC will still be cheaper because of LN despite all coins being mined.

Mining will not stop even if all BTC is already mined, they still can mine transactions.
I'm still up to believing the truth is stranger than what we imagine though which miners are going to be regulated with a license required.
2684  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Apple Pauses Gambling Ads in App Store Pages After Developers Complain on: October 31, 2022, 02:36:19 AM
This is apple wanting to make more money. This is going to encourage advertising to hurt others or competitors.

They are making the competition of developers which the rich developers can advertise on the competitor's page. This is really going to kill the apps that are inferior and low quality which I think is good also for developers will push to make better apps.
2685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it really possible to quit on these reasons on: October 31, 2022, 01:50:33 AM

You can when you lose a huge amount
This is the most popular reason to quit have you done this only to come back

Coming back again because the impulse wins. It's possible that the person who loses a huge amount is his everything.

Having something new to do or a new job opportunity I think will help more than a wife yelling to stop. The gambler will just secretly gamble, that is what will happen just like a guy having an affair.
2686  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you think of gold price in long term? on: October 30, 2022, 09:17:31 AM

When Trump run he suggested returning to gold back currency and ending this fiat system that Nixon promised to be temporary only. Took more than 50 years and up to this day, the US is not willing to go back to the gold back standard.

BRICS countries are initiating to go back where today we can hear the news about them buying up tons of gold because that's what they are going to be doing according to several news channels. Why gold price had not gone up, I guess they also are suppressing its price still for it to be not attractive to speculators.
2687  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance asking for KYC, again on: October 30, 2022, 09:01:49 AM
Since you have completed the identity verification, this means that you are ready to take this test every time if the platform suspects anything, for example, did you do anything that adds red points such as changing your device, IP address, withdrawing with unusual amounts, suspicious transactions or anything that could activate They have an alarm system?

As for you leaving the platform, the centralized platforms are still far from competing with the centralized platforms in speed, liquidity, order execution, fees.

Withdrawing unusual amounts and then asking to verify again your data is nothing like what the banks are doing these days. Been also asked for my KYC back in 2020 when I bought a new phone. Ever since no KYC, I'm already afraid to change anything or withdraw but will only do it thru P2P on binance.
Centralized is centralized and binance is just compliant with every government.
2688  Economy / Gambling / Re: The History of Poker on: October 30, 2022, 08:37:38 AM

The earliest by far that they have traced the origins of poker was in 900s in China. That's quite a long time and we thought human origins started in Africa. This really started me thinking something must have happened in the past that they ban gambling on the mainland.

Cards in the past are more fascinating for it has art on them which today we can only see on tarot cards today.  As Nas Deck or Vintage Mahjong tiles must be expensive collectible items by now.
2689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling house responisbilty to protect people data on: October 30, 2022, 07:52:23 AM
Doesn't sound fair to learn that because it's not on thier TOS, the casino can just publish names. But filing a lawsuit will just make it worse as well and the user will expose himself further when doing so. It's a price to pay when you want to play all the way and submit your data which makes the users vulnerable. If the user is willing to go to court, I guess it depends on him.
2690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler who betrayed his friend's trust on: October 29, 2022, 05:10:42 AM
Maybe they can sort it out if Kevin give Charles share for old-time sake and if not then maybe they can settle on the court.

I wouldn't really try the latter, 3 months if long enough for my anger to stay. But I would definitely want the money as I won as well. Not trusting a friend can actually be hurtful as well. I can understand it so Charles is not a very sassy guy. But this is not a good trait to adopt in this wild world.
2691  Economy / Economics / Re: 23 Countries Now Abandoning US Dollar on: October 29, 2022, 04:53:07 AM
As we know that USD is the strongest currency in the world so it is always used for trade between countries, the control of the US central bank is also very tight so that the USD can survive and even continue to strengthen including other top currencies such as the EURO, I'm sure if there are 23 countries that leave USD then this is only temporary.

One article I found says there are already 71 countries trying to abandon USD and among them is Saudi Arabia. Then Yuan is the 5th of the currency that is mostly traded. I can't say it's true but yep. With the rise of China, it sure is one heck of a struggle to bring them down.

With the US printing more USD, these countries will continue to realize that printing more is like diminishing the US debt to zilch. Its why they ask to pay in thier own currency upon trading. Russia only accepts rouble. China accepts Yuan. Ditto for the rest.
2692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Two-edged sword for countries that banned Bitcoin on: October 29, 2022, 04:36:13 AM

I'm sure it's better to be early in buying more BTC as much as possible like Pres. Bukele is doing.

No one is left even if they invest or buy BTC in the next 5 years. The government if not the citizens can still set up mining farms in the future.
And I'm sure not all governments want their people to be exposed to a volatile asset such as BTC for they have alternatives like the stablecoins or the CBDC which I think will also undo the banning after having thier own government coin.
2693  Economy / Economics / Re: Why exactly did Elon want to buy Twitter? on: October 29, 2022, 04:10:47 AM
For one he overpaid for it because looking at tech stocks like Facebook, it’s value would be probably less than $20 a share compared to the $54.20 he paid for it. So he really must have a big interest in it.
When companies get bought out, it isn't uncommon for the buyer to pay a premium over the going share price.  In Musk's case, it doesn't surprise me that the economics seem to be playing a backseat role in this whole thing--because him buying Twitter was never about turning it into an enormously profitable enterprise.  He wouldn't need to do that, nor is he the Warren Buffett type, looking for undervalued assets.

Why would any mega-rich person want to buy a media company?  Same reason Ted Turner, WR Hearst, or any similar person in history has taken control of one: it's a power play.  If you control what people see and hear about the world, you can very effectively shape their opinions about pretty much anything.

I think that's probably the real reason behind Musk's Twitter buy.  He might be an advocate of free speech and all that, but he's got to have an ulterior motive to spend that much money on something that's likely not going to be very profitable.

I'm assuming he will influence politicians also to approve his EVs and shut off bills that distribute s Canadian diesel and gas. Bring back Trump after all he needs that guy, they both are businessmen. It needs a group of oligarchs to get rid of the old oligarchs in the position.

Elon afaik is not friends with those WEF guys like Bill Gates and Mark Zucker. The WEF guys like the people in tech companies who can harvest data so Elon must be one that's his goal I think.
2694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino with an online and offline branch. on: October 28, 2022, 04:29:49 AM
A local casino in my area goes online where users will just be watching the screen. You just have to pick a seat and the dealer will recognize it. I think there are some other casinos that worked so far like the blackjack.fun casino. They make it more encouraging for its the women who are dealing the cards.

Online casinos going to have a physical house is not very likely to happen but probably if the location is a crypto hub like Silicon.

2695  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next big bull rally expected to begin in 2023 Q2 says Mark Yusko on: October 28, 2022, 04:27:10 AM
2023 Q2 is still recession phase, I don't expect a big bull run will start at that time. Actually it could be the lowest of Bitcoin price, as many people already predicted too. Bitcoin can be used to hedge against inflation, but it's can't be used to hedge against recession since every countries will suffer bad economy. People will use their money to buy food, pay bills and use for daily spending, they wouldn't have enough money to buy Bitcoin.

Exactly what I thought so based on the likelihood that there will be a recession.
There is still a decent amount of uncertainty ahead, this end-of-October rally may seem like a kickstart but the volatility of the market had already disappointed many just today. While there is yet no halving, the ride will still be bumpy til the end of 2023 which is why I don't see rallies in the coming months to be the kind that is lasting.
2696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MMA Info and Predictions - Bellator, KSW, PFL, ONE... on: October 28, 2022, 02:56:56 AM
Another great Combat Fighting Sports are Bellator which will have its event this week
I am not very much excited about this Bellator event, not big names but I see fighters have good records so we might see some interesting fights and surprises.
Similar case is in this week UFC event, but we can't have big flashy events all the time so I am ok with that.
Maybe boxing fight between Jake Paul and Anderson Silva will get more attention from people and mma fans, including me. 🥊

Though we're fans of MMA I also don't see Silva not winning against the built of Jake. I'm thinking Silva can't stand it when he is cornered. Even if he can block the coming strike, Jake will break him.  Yep, this event will grab the audience of the Bellator seeing no familiar names on the cards. If something big happens in Bellator, we could just watch the replay of it.

2697  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No Alternative to Bitcoin, Your Alternative is Bitcoin. on: October 28, 2022, 02:42:01 AM

They are still reasons to buy BTC now and keep it for a long time because of the news and adoption of BTC. Bank of America, UK officials, and institutions adopting BTC are always a positive reference to jump on the bandwagon.

BTC though is not just the alternative, there are more down the rank. Holding them while they are cheap is still a great alternative, you never know what crazy development the altcoins could have in the future.
2698  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Censorship be the end of the Ethereum Network? on: October 28, 2022, 02:13:41 AM
I don't think that there will ever be a project that will surpass Ethereum as of the moment. The fact that it's grown a lot and with this transition, it's making the rich folks be richer and that's what they like from it. So, huge capitalization will remain on it as it gives these huge part of its network the advantage to take on the lead as they help Ethereum also remain on its state. Being a PoS now really has changed it into a less censored project and let's see where it'll be in the next years.

So many ETH killers were made in the past but they didn't kill ETH. Popularity is still one factor that made ETH to be the top altcoin despite this POS change.

Nothing yet had been censored so far. Maybe us paranoid so much about the issue being ETH compromised. I'm not very confident however if they are not going to censor when the validators controlled it all.
2699  Economy / Economics / Re: Can A Redesign of A Countries Currency Note Improve Its Economy? on: October 27, 2022, 02:10:10 AM

If they decide to take out the old ones from the circulation I guess it could help. They don't do that though at least in my country they don't.
Nigeria afaik already have a national digital currency (enaira) so it's interesting to see they are redesigning bills instead of distributing cheap phones and improving internet speed and availability for the enaira adoption.

2700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Countries that are Legal and Illegal in gambling on: October 27, 2022, 01:55:54 AM
Too many illegal things back in previous decades were legalized at some point. Not in our lifetime, I guess we'll see these countries will do it.
Some countries that are pressured by the lack of funds to run the country eventually legalize gambling to collect tax.

The countries listed above have different reasons for illegalizing gambling. Religion is just one.
