Both underdog teams won tonight, that's why Phoenix was the underdog against Alaska because Wright did not play, but it does not make the team weak, instead, they bounce back strong from their first game loss in the conference. Vic Manuel was the best player of the game with 26 points and 12 rebounds, what a game by him, and Phoenix was not wrong of picking him.

I don't know that Wright is injured but nevertheless, I would still bet them if I knew that situation because Alaska is not a strong team and like what I said, every team in the PBA as of the moment is unstable and unpredictable.

Three games for today with Manila Clasicco on the second game, who you got? The Beast or the Bulldozzer?

I will bet for Magnolia here because IMO the Gin Kings has still chemistry issues with CStand on board.

Pick for the day:

Magnolia ML @1.82
NLEX -9.5 @1.93
SMB & under 191.5@2.07
(not much option with the HC)

Time to move on for tomorrow's games.

At 2:00 PM, we have Meralco Bolts against ROS  (+4.5)
At 4:35 PM, we have Alaska Aces vs Phoenix LPG. (+3.5)

I'm wondering why Phoenix is the underdog here.

Both ROS and Phoenix are underdogs in these matches but IMO, either one of them or both of them could upset their opponents.

Though ROS doesn't have its usual go-to guy but with their young guns, they could defeat the Bolts since everything now in the PBA is unstable.

Phoenix is put in the underdog status may be because of their last game where they were blown out by NorthPort if my memory serves me right.

Therefore my bets for today:

ROS ML @2.57
Phoenix ML @2.15

No mistakes this time as I double-check my bets, but not going against SMB from now on.  Grin

First game is over and the underdog Rain or Shine did shine on that ballgame. Young guns Nambatac and Mocon towed them into their consecutive wins with the help of veteran Belga. Even if I will lose my second bet, I still gain some profit as the odds for the first game is 2.57.

Halftime at the moment between Phoenix and Alaska with Phoenix leading by 11 points. Seems another upset is looming in the horizon huh.
2703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr - August 21 on: July 24, 2021, 06:47:49 AM
Well, they have no choice to move the odds if people are putting a lot of money on Pacquiao to win, they will have to balance the odds as their concern is just to make commissions on the winning bets, they are not really like casinos or the house that accepts the bet against themselves.

It already happened in other sports AFAIR, like in the NBA, in the opening line, one team is the favorites but where there's bad news that could potentially affect the performance of the favorites, the odds flip and the underdog become the favorites, so bookies have no problem with that.

My prediction is Pacquiao will still remain as the underdog though the odds will decrease a bit.

Probably, Manny Pacquiao will still be an underdog in this match but the odds may not be as huge as it opens.

If you really are a Pacman fan, the best time to place the bet was when the odds were still @3.xxx.

Personally, I'm not going to bet early even though the stake is high because my money would be a trap for a long period of time which I don't like  Smiley.

Videos of Manny training really hype this fight in his favor, don't be deceived by that aspect because that's normal for Manny when he trains. I would be like a broken record here, endurance and stamina would be the critical factor coming into this fight.

2705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casimero vs Rigondeaux this August 14, 2021 on: July 23, 2021, 10:27:19 PM
Hope to see a toe-to-toe fight here. Mayweather's style is really not good for the most fans in boxing. Most of us want a real rumble here. Since Casimero is quite the younger boxer here, a lot are expecting that he can easily win this fight. But no odds yet from sportsbooks?

Toe to toe? I doubt if it can happen since Rigo's style of being a defensive boxer won't change in this fight.

Casimero will do a lot of chasing while Rigo is in his runner's shoes come fight night.

Casimero is calling out Rigo in his social media account, enticing the latter to come out of his shell so the fans would not be sleeping as it would be boring if Rigo will do the run and hug strategy.

Rigo is hard to hit in his younger years but with father time catching on him, I think he slowed a lot and later in this fight, Casimero would catch him and finally send him to retirement, just my thought  Smiley.

Romeo did not play, maybe he is still resting to heal that injury he suffered in the first game. I think I will watch the highlights because I love that SMB has won the game, also, Fajardo seems to be slowly getting back on his grove, he played 24 minutes made 14 points and 10 rebounds, that's a good start.

Fajardo set the tone and Tautua finish what Junemar have started and dominated the NLEX Road Warriors. I never expected that from Fajardo since he was sloppy in their first game. This is bad news for other teams that Fajardo starting to find his rhythm, few more games, and the Kraken will be unleashed hehe.

^^ that was a mistake on my part as on my mind I would be betting for NLEX but just surprised to see my ticket have won lol. Must be a sign on not to go against the Beermen from hereon.
2708  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season Champion: Milwaukee Bucks on: July 22, 2021, 09:44:41 PM
Since he already proved that he can bring a regular NBA team into the Championship, I don't think that he will go to the super team where he does not need to work so hard as he did a few days ago to win another championship. If he stays in the Milwaukee Bucks, that would be a good decision too since he already established great chemistry with his team and the franchise, and also their fans really like him.

This accomplishment is destined to be in him. Not to take the credit away from him but what if Harden and Irving of the Nets were not injured during that time? He may not reach the Finals I think. So with him holding that Larry O'Brien trophy makes his stock goes up and he kept wanting more but I doubt the Bucks can defend the title next year if the Nets are healthy so with that said, if there is an opportunity that he can move to a super team, I think he will do it. Just my two cents.
2709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: July 22, 2021, 09:36:09 PM
This could be the last time we see a Donaire vs Inoue fight, so Donaire should train harder, for himself to the limit so he can beat the best. He still has that powerful punch, his last fight was very impressive but with a moving target like Inoue, I know it's hard but who knows Donaire could catch him and KO him early.

For a gambler, betting on Donaire is good as the odds should really be a sweet one, we can get at least +300 in this fight.

Or this could be Donaire's last fight  Smiley. He is 38 years old if I'm correct and there's no much attractive fight out there for him if he losses this fight unless he wants to be a stepping stone for the young guns of this weight category which I doubt he will do.

I'll wait for some option like Inoue winning by decision and see if it's attractive but won't bet for Donaire here. Betting with head and not with heart but I would be very happy if he wins this fight.
2710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 22, 2021, 09:28:17 PM
Two games for today but I'm shying away from that Ginebra vs Blackwater game because the spread is too high and in this stage of the elimination, everything is unstable and unpredictable hehe.

Betting against the Beermen here because TR7 is out while Fajardo will be playing with controlled minutes while NLEX is doing just fine.

2711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: July 21, 2021, 09:46:59 PM
If Donaire can't match Inoue's speed and Inoue improves his timing and power on par with Donaire, I think that we will probably see another win for Inoue if the same fight as the last time happens again.

This is just my personal opinion after watching their first fight, if Donaire can't hit Inoue with those lethal left hooks successively then I think he is bound to lose again in the rematch. Inoue has his orbital bone broken by Donaire so I think he would be careful this time not to commit the same mistake again and adjust so Donaire will not be comfortable in the rematch.

Donaire's advantage here is experience but looking at how Inoue has evolved into a monster, I think this rematch still belongs to the Monster.
2712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 21, 2021, 09:26:04 PM
So "glad" hardcore rigged Philippine Basketball  is back, always good for a laugh.

Alaska aces 17/36 free throws, turnover 20sec before the end at 82:82 and then lose to a buzzer.

Did everything they can to lose this game.

This league is a real shame, honestly!

Really? or maybe it's just your own opinion, we might think the league is rigged but we can't conclude they are as we have no evidence.

If you are a bettor, just bet on the right side so you'll win.

I'm glad I was not able to bet on this game, I might still lose as I will bet on the magnolia spread.

This has nothing to do with right side - wrong side.

PH basketball has a history of being corrupt and fixed and easy to tell at the start of the season that this hasn't changed.

I agree with that, but if you really know it's corrupt and you are still watching it, then you should put some bet and take advantage of it. The thing is, you would not love watching the game if you don't put a bet because it will not anymore excite you, so no sense in wasting your time.

Actually, it's not only PBA that is corrupt, even NBA, there are a lot of theories that fix games are happening, so PBA is not different.

This story of game-fixing is not new to us and to prove that indeed there are rigged games is very hard. IMO, I think that it's just a coincidence that everything turned out that way and the PBA has nothing to do with it. Who will benefit if they will intend to lose their game and with today's technology, it is easier to spot a rigged game than before, and being honest and fair is profitable nowadays so I give them the benefit of the doubt that it's only pure coincidence.
2713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: July 21, 2021, 01:07:20 PM
Oh man… I hadn’t heard about Scott Foster… I don’t know how to play this one. On one hand the NBA wants a game 7, but on the other hand Chris Paul has an 0-12 streak going with Scott Foster in the playoffs. The conspiracy theorist in me thinks this may be an opportunity for the NBA to get what they want while at the same time crushing the ‘Scott Foster / Chris Paul’ conspiracy and breaking the 0-12 streak. I’m guessing we’ll figure out which way the game will go by whatever star has to sit down in the 1st quarter with foul trouble.

Ohh man, the losing streak continues hehe, before the game I have read that CP3 requested a meeting with Scott Foster but it doesn't break the curse lol.

Congratulations to all the Bucks backers out there, the Giannis wall has no effect on the Greek Freak this time as he almost single-handily demolished the Suns on this game.
2714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: July 19, 2021, 09:14:08 PM
Actually, Donaire has done that in their first encounter already, but Inoue is just too strong and he was able to survive with that Stamina. Donaire is not the kind of fighter that throughs a lot of jabs, he only throws limited punches looking for good timing that's why he is precise, but if someone is durable and has a good movement inside the right like Inoue, it would not be easy for him. However, I still think it's possible for him to win in the rematch, so let's just watch and enjoy the fight once it will be realized.

That is very true. The outcome of this fight really depends on Inoue on how he trains or wanted to win this fight. If he really wants it then he will win this one because he is the young lion of this division and I just can't see Donaire improve from their first fight and win the rematch because he is on the downhill of his career at the moment.

Good decision of the Donaire camp to go directly to this fight but I wonder if the old man will fulfill his promise to make this fight huh.
2715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 19, 2021, 12:36:22 PM
Not the result I expected, luckily I was not able to place my bet on this game as I have an early trip.

Though SMB loss but it was a close game.
JMF scores 5 points only and played 18 minutes, he is not yet fully activated, we will know if he plays longer minutes and generate a double double in points and rebounds.

I don't expect a lot from Fajardo on that game because I knew his minutes will be managed as he is coming from an injury. I don't know when he will be basketball ready, for now, we will just wait and see who their opponent and might bet for their opponent if the odds are attractive.

I might change strategy in this early stage of elimination and bet for the underdogs for a 2.5+ odds because in this stage, top teams are adjusting and they can afford to lose a game or two so let's exploit that hehe.

Last Sunday two underdogs won, NLEX and Meralco.
2716  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Charlo vs Castano - July 17 on: July 18, 2021, 08:36:33 AM
Yep it ended on a split draw, on my personal card it was 114-114 so I think they got the decision correct although one judges score it for Castano 117-111, the judge is from Puerto Rico, the other judge from the US scored it 114-113 for Charlo and then for the draw 114-114  Nevada’s Tim Cheatham.

It was come from behind though from Charlo, he didn't dominated the fight as what I have predicted, so it was a lost to me. Not sure if there is a rematch clause, because there is a lot of controversy and drama on the decision.

I'm backing Charlo in this match but watching the fight I give a little edge on Castano but that fight was for the undisputed belt and neither fighter dominated the other so I think the draw decision was fair and hope an immediate rematch will happen this year. Wonder what fight that judge who gave 117-111 Charlo, was watching hehe.

2717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr - August 21 on: July 17, 2021, 11:51:59 PM
Just look at the recent YT videos of ESNews - https://www.youtube.com/user/ESNEWS and fighthype - https://www.youtube.com/user/fighthype. They are uploading the preparations of Pacquiao. And I can say, Pacquiao seemed to be pretty serious in his training here. This match is getting interesting and less than a month of waiting. A lot of fans for sure are waiting for Pacquiao to be in the ring again.

Pacman is training like there's no tomorrow, that is what we see in him whenever he trains and kudos to him on that but the real question would be in the actual fight. Could he bring the same amount of intensity until the twelve rounds or even in the fourth quarter of the fight, that's the question that remains to be seen.

If only it is a 3 or 6 rounds fight, then Pacman would have the advantage as he still have the speed and power. Hope I'm wrong though but that is what I see in him in being his long time fan  Cool.
2718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 17, 2021, 09:59:34 PM
Today we have 2 games, 2 big games actually, hopefully, we will be able to see Fajardo play.

1-SMB vs Bolts
2-BGSM vs NLEX

Actually, we will have 3 games for today as I see it in the schedule and the third game will be between Blackwater vs Rain or Shine.

Speaking of Fajardo, he will play, and just like what their team manager said that he is not 100 percent healthy but he looks good on their scrimmages I think his presence is enough to at least boost the morale of his teammates because even if he's not 100 percent, he is still dangerous to other teams so I'll be backing them to win today.

2719  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Charlo vs Castano - July 17 on: July 17, 2021, 11:50:26 AM
3 votes for Charlo, this fight is less than 24 hours from now.

Make it 4, I'm backing Charlo to win this fight and it's only the method of winning that I'm thinking at the moment and more I'm inclined that this would be a win by Charo via decision, and looking at the odds, it pretty attractive.

2720  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 17, 2021, 11:45:40 AM

^^ That win is not without a scare and the score may deceive you that it's a lopsided win but it's not, it's actually close.

That bet is a mistake on my side because I thought at first that the opponent of Magnolia will be NorthPort, must be sleepy when I look at the odds at the bookies but nevertheless, it's a win lol.

Seems Abueva is a good fit on the Magnolia system huh.
