Depends.  IF you have a hiney like this, then just tattoo your BTC address on your back:

Surely, someone will tattoo dat azz with some BTC!  0.5 BTC for half hour, 1BTC for full hour.
2702  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is this roughly how Bitcoin works? on: February 19, 2015, 06:44:37 PM
Here, you can laminate this and put this on your wall:

You have the general idea, though.  Bitcoin can be a payment system with very low fees, and Miners pool together to solve blocks, and get rewarded block rewards for their proof of work.
2703  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin and Porn on: February 19, 2015, 06:37:27 PM
Why are people still paying money for porn in the age of Xhamster, youporn, and redtube?
I think some people have certain fetishes that can only be 'tickled' certain ways, eg they are looking for something very specific.

I do think that bitcoin will likely do wonders for the porn industry as people can buy it without any stigma, plus porn producers will not need to worry about any chargebacks
Also some people like 1080p videos as soon as they get released and dont have to wait for torrrents.

1080p?  Pretty sure there's 4K porn for free, streaming also...

But I know some people like to own physical copies, so there's Blu Ray DVD's for that.
2704  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Something big for Bitcoin coming April 15th on: February 19, 2015, 06:29:36 PM
NotLambChop, that's a very lame and well known method of dishonesty - cherry-picking a date range to make an investment look bad. Since the date range doesn't match your targets' own start date (2010), you Fail.

Lol, a year's worth of prices is cherry-picking?  Butthurt much?
Sure, BTCeanie prices skyrocketed in the past.  If, based on that, you feel BTCeanies are a wise investment now, I'm afraid I got nothing Sad
Ok NotLambchop I am interested, what do you invest in?

STOP FEEDING THE TROLLS!!!

This is his whole M.O. for being on this site, to get a rise out of you, or sidetrack a thread with his 25 Alt-puppets....

2705  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bter Hacked! on: February 19, 2015, 06:21:36 PM
Wow Sketchy offshore Bitcoin exchanges doing it big as usual!  Mycoin, Cavirtex, now Bter.

When will users learn from repeated mistakes by these amateur hour exchange operators.  Didn't they learn the last time Bter got hacked for $1.6 mill worth of NXT?

Can't wait for real, legitimate, regulated exchanges like Gemini to show how these Mickey Mouse exchanges are really done...

LOL Cavirtex is Canadian numb nuts ...

Ok...and your point is exactly what?  Canada is not the US, it's North American yes, but doesn't mean it's the same playing field or scale of a US or the largest exchanges based in China.

Cavirtex is basically a boot-leg wannabe exchange numb nuts...

2706  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Methods of getting free electricity on: February 19, 2015, 06:05:28 PM
I am in the USA. I am wondering what ways there are to get free electricity. For example, maybe certain office leases come with electricity up to a certain amount. Maybe the place i work wouldn't notice or care if half a dozen power supplies were humming away in my cube. How about buying a home that has lots of solar panels just for the sake of hosting miners.....

When i was in college, our apartment rent came with electricity. I am doubtful though something like that would hold up long with the electricity bill was all of a sudden 2k a month.

Any ideas appreciated, thanks

If you work as an IT Administrator, you'd probably have access to the Datacenter, Comm, or Server closet.  The costs of running and cooling this locked off room are probably a part of the lease deal already.

Rack and stack 'em up high!   Cheesy

P.s. - I'm not condoning this type of action, but if you somehow have the keys and access to this room, a couple of "test servers" would hardly be noticed.
2707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is it wrong to suggest most people should own just 1 or .5 btc... on: February 19, 2015, 05:57:00 PM
It isn't wrong, that's the whole point.

Everyone should have a choice if that want to own, use, or invest in a new technology that could either be ground-breaking or just another idea that's brilliant in theory.

Whether it's the next Zune or Ipod, whether it's the next Atari Jaguar or the Sony Playstation, whether it's the next Myspace or Facebook, the masses will ultimately decide if it's worthwhile.
2708  Economy / Speculation / Re: Great time to buy on: February 19, 2015, 05:44:38 PM
Anything above zero means the experiment lives on.  So far it's been 6 years in counting.

If it survives until the halving next year, maybe it isn't just a Tulip-mania or Beanie Babies scenario.  If it last that long, could it be......Legit???

Just buy now, while you still can.
2709  Economy / Speculation / Re: And so begins the new crash. on: February 19, 2015, 04:59:58 PM
Buy orders are vanishing before our eyes, selling pressure increasing massively. The path is clear to drop below $200.

OTC prices are already around the 200 mark with big volumes being sold.

This is a huge indicator for upcoming big dumps.

Short and sell now or hold the bag.

Hmm, so about that dump to $200...

Still waiting for that huge indicator.
2710  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it the right time to invest on BTC on: February 19, 2015, 04:41:25 PM
This is either an amazing opportunity to buy, or is the fall of bitcoin and it will disappear.
I personally lean very much on the first option Wink

Until Bitcoin hits $0, it's an amazing opportunity to buy.   Wink

We're still somewhere in the Early Adopter Phase, trying to get out of the chasm, and inching towards Early Majority:

2711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what are your main sources of Bitocin/Crypto news? on: February 19, 2015, 04:34:09 PM
Coindesk, Cointelegraph, Cryptocoinnews, NewsBTC are some of the sites I check out.

Either that or I just Google Bitcoin and make sure I click News right after.

Also, Twitter or Reddit sometimes, and of course Bitcointalk.

2714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has there ever been another Satoshi type of person? on: February 19, 2015, 03:49:25 PM
Satoshi isn't the first to come up with a digital form of money.  There's been ecash, hashcash, and even PayPal before Bitcoin.  The closest logical peer to Satoshi is probably Linus Torvalds, the founder of Linux.  Since Satoshi is simply building a better system on top of Hashcash, this makes the most logical sense, since Linus Torvalds simply created a better version of Unix.

Although I agree 100% that Satoshi did not invent digital money he did create a working implementation of the "blockchain" concept which is actually a far more significant thing (whether or not he was the originator of the blockchain concept I am not sure as I've read that it might have been proposed before by others known in this area).

Prior to this creation there was no P2P way of achieving "consensus" that could be trusted enough to solve the "double-spending problem".

Great point, CIYAM, as you correctly pointed out, Satoshi is the inventor of the "Blockchain", which so many financial companies are trying to get at right now.  This in itself is definitely a brilliant concept, that no one had conceived before.  To have a consensus, public ledger, that solves the "Byzantine General's Problem", using Proof of work to have one general/CPU agree to broadcast the solution to the entire Bitcoin network, once a block is solved to move onto the next block.

I guess my point was just comparing to another historically similar person, and just the digital money aspect of Bitcoin.  That and Satoshi and Linus both worked on open source projects, both originally from overseas, both had possible NSA ties, etc..
2715  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: "Trolls" are the most valuable asset on btctalk on: February 19, 2015, 03:31:35 PM
It's true that everyone has an opinion, and it wouldn't be the same if everyone thought the same, just agreed with everything, and just went along with the herd mentality.

That said, the role "Trolls" play here in Bitcointalk lately is simply to derail topics and persuade newbies to side with their agendas.  Most of the time it's to push some altcoin or just to get a rise out of everyone.  As for the "Scammers", sometimes they're easy to notice by their sign up date and their 1 post scam letters, sometimes they're more intricate and wait awhile longer, before they pounce.

So overall I wouldn't say it's a good/evil debate, because if everyone just went along with things, it'd be a boring ass place.  Trolls play their part, and as long as it's not malicious, and intended to scam, then they also belong here.  Scammers on the other hand, have no place in Bitcointalk or the whole Bitcoin community in general, and if we all do our part to point and weed them out, it would help to legitimize Bitcoin.

2716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has there ever been another Satoshi type of person? on: February 19, 2015, 03:01:12 PM
This is a bit of an exaggeration to say the least, although we all love ourselves some Satoshi and Bitcoin, he's not quite in the same company of Louis Pasteur.  Not even in the same zip code as Steve Jobs or Bill Gates, even.

That said, we can comprise that if Bitcoin is here to stay, it won't be knocking off fiat any day soon, but can play a role in the way money works in the future.

Satoshi is like Linus Torvalds.

"Bitcoin is backed by the inherent stupidity of those who are dumb enough to take it seriously"--Satoshi Nakamoto, The Bitcoin Whitepower Paper.

That devil Satoshi, I knew he was pulling all of our legs!

That's it, I give up, selling all my 300 BTC shortly... Angry
2718  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Best mining hardware on: February 18, 2015, 11:01:45 PM
Currently, the 2 best Bitcoin mining Manufacturers are:

https://www.bitmaintech.com/product.htm

and

http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/

If you're going hardware, these are the only 2 reliable and trustworthy companies to consider.

As for models, the best bang for the buck is either the Bitmain Antminer S5 or Spondoolies Tech SP20.

Great for hobby and home mining.  ROI, that's a whole other story though...

2720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Take the money and run is the Bitcoin way! on: February 18, 2015, 10:23:22 PM
Just face it, Bitcoins security issues are too much to overcome in the long term. 95% of exchanges that come into existence end with all their coins being stolen. And most average everyday people aren't smart IT professionals and won't be able to secure their computers from theft. The norm will be cyber criminals installing programs on the average Joes computer and stealing all their coins which will prevent mass adoption of Bitcoin as a major currency. And unlike with fiat people won't get their money back. Bitcoin transactions can't be reversed. If your bank account gets hacked you might get all your money back, with Bitcoin there is no one to reimburse you. I don't see how Bitcoins could even be insured because of how transactions work. How could someone prove their coins were stolen instead of being sent from their wallet as a legitimate transaction? they can't. Computer networks are prone to being compromised and that's what Bitcoin lives on. You can't use Bitcoin without it going through a computer network. And people are always looking for ways to steal money, and Bitcoin is a prime target. It's anonymous and has no legal standing which makes it even worse. I also believe that at some people some super genius will be able to reverse engineer private keys  and/or understand the blockchain on a level which allows them to flat out steal coins. At this point It's way too hard to even keep bitcoin without it getting stolen. I do not think this will change because our internet networks are what they are, unless they are rebuilt from the ground up there is nothing you can do. I believe this will lead to the demise of cryptocurrency.

TLDR, the answer to all your concerns:

https://blog.gemini.com/welcome-to-gemini/

BTW, Bitcoin is not an exchange.  Exchange operators AKA human beings "take the money and run", not a cryptocurrency.
