Cricket seems to be a game of 3rd world countries - where young boys play it in streets and on road. In my country - a part from players there are two other boys who have to pick up wickets when the vehicle arrives and quickly puts it back to start the match again. Even then they grow up to become Imran Khan and Waseem Akram. What a life we live!
Maybe this is one of the reasons why cricket is so popular in South Asia. It can be played in narrow lanes and alleys. On the other hand, other sports such as football and field hockey requires a much larger space. In my childhood, we had some open space near our home and we used to play cricket there. But all those open spaces are gone now, replaced with concrete jungle. But still cricketing activity goes on, as the kids make use of whatever space that is available. Once in a while we get complaints of broken window panes or the ball hitting someone's head.. but apart from that everything is fine.  But that same thing can be said about football in this region. Football doesn't take either a lot of money or a lot of space so by that theory football should have been the most popular sport in this region but that is not the case. I think it's just because people's tastes can vary because of different regions. The people of this region simply like cricket a lot. And you know that with football at least a good amount of open space is needed but with cricket that is not really necessary. So, that can be a reason why cricket is generally a lot more popular in this region. |

Lautaro Martinez is a very crucial player for Inter now. They wouldn't like to let him go now easily. They are relying on his goals very much now and they don't have a better alternative than him in their hands as well. There are some extra players in the Barcelona squad who are given high wages by Barcelona, but they are not performing well for the team. My big prediction for the next Champions League will be won by either Manchester City or PSG.
Both teams have invested greatly in good player's and coaches but have lacked results.

When it comes to winning the Champions League, it is clear that Real Madrid is the king, even though other teams have also won the Champions League. But for Manchester City and PSG I have never seen them both in the list of winners of the Champions League trophy which means they both have never tasted the sweetness of winning the Champions League. And for next season I'm still not sure that they will both be the new champions for the Champions League because other teams are also investing in new players for next season. I would say that next season Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Liverpool and PSG will fight for the Champions League. These six teams are already strong enough. But they are still trying to increase their power. Manchester City has added young Haaland to their squad to make their squad stronger. PSG is trying to stabilize the team by changing coaches. India scored 169 runs in their first innings and gave them a target of 170 runs. Do you think this is enough score for the Indians to defend? Remember in the last T20, Indian scored 179 runs and won the match. Do you think India will be able to defend this score and make the series a level with 2 - 2 ? I think if South Africa does not lose early wickets, they may win this match however it won't be an easy task. I am not surprised that India has won. I was surprised to see South Africa's batting. This team won the first match by collecting 212 runs in 19.1 overs. In the second match, they won by scoring 149 runs in 18.2 overs. I am very surprised that the same team will accept a shameful defeat by losing all the wickets for only 87 runs. However, I am waiting for the last match. I think South Africa will win the series. |

LOL... another disastrous performance from Sri Lanka. They are now 175/7 after 38 overs. And remember that they are playing the match at home ground and that too against an Australian side which lacks some of the key players such as Mitchell Starc. Matthew Kuhnemann in his ODI debut picked up two crucial wickets. And none of the Lanka batsmen could even get to a 50. Such a shameful performance from these guys. They are going to lose this match, and in all probability will lose the ODI series by a margin of 0-3.
Sri Lanka is playing as an unpredictable team now. They had quite low chance to win this match as the target wasn't enough. Australia is playing with their strong batting squad, still they failed to chase the target of 216 runs. Even they got all out in just 189 runs. The score was 165/5 after the end of 34 overs. Australia lost their remaining 5 wickets in next 3.1 overs and lost the game by 26 runs. I think Sri Lanka will be more favourite team in the upcoming matches. I was very surprised to see the performance in Australia. I never imagined Australia would lose this match. After Maxwell was dismissed for 170, they lost all their remaining wickets by 19 runs. Warner is the highest run-scorer among the Australian busmen. If Maxwell had survived at the crease, maybe today we would have seen Australia win. |

Dani Alves was a very important player for Barcelona and he played for them so many years. He is very old now of course and I think Barcelona don't need him anymore. He might even retire soon too as he is 39. But I will remember him as one of the best right-backs in the world. Barcelona are targeting to make the squad as young as possible now. This is a nice step for doing this. They are trying a different thing which is being successful with youngsters and I'd like to see them succeeding in this.
Dani Alves was a very talented and experienced player. He has played for Barcelona for a long time, strengthening the Barcelona defense. But now that he is 39, he is no longer fit for the Barcelona team. Xavi must find a replacement for Dani Alves. At the same time Gerard Pique is not performing as well as before. Xavi should recruit young defenders to strengthen the defense. |
