It's really interesting as where Simmons will go, I guess some of us wanted to see him play this season.

We are about to find out soon, hopefully in a team that has a chance to be in the playoffs so we will see him play against his former team and I would be happy if he can prove them wrong in making a decision to trade him. With a talent like his, he deserves to be in a good team and I hope that will happen so soon.
2702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: January 16, 2022, 03:06:51 PM
Thurman is sporsbet guy? There is no contest to that yet but I think because he is already in the division before Barrios climb up making him look as if the challenger. 2.24 is like undermining Barrios skills. Although he will be adjusting the body weight, Barrios is younger and eager to prove in this class while was off the grid from some time.
Yeah, Thurman is the favorite but you can also choose Barrios if you feel he will win the fight. He got some skills that's why he only has one loss and that is against Davis which is a knockout puncher. Thurman is a mature guy in boxing and he also has a good KO percentage, so it's really up to you to weigh things and decide what fighter you'll put your bet.
2703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gary Russell vs Mark Magsayo WBC Featherweight Title on: January 16, 2022, 02:21:31 PM
Russell is not a KO artist for me, 31 wins and 18 of them are from KO. Well, maybe he is strong but Magsayo is also strong and hungry for a win. A boxer who is very active and chasing his dream, it's worth betting for because he will certainly give everything to win, and if he fails, at least we will not regret as we support our Filipino boxers for his campaign to be a champion.

If that was the case, then Magsayo have some more percentage to win this fight if he will be able to unleash his skills and prove to everyone that whenever he fights some good boxers, he is also improving. As we can see there are only a few who can do that but who knows? maybe we are watching one of them who will gonna become a big star in the future. He just needs to beat Russel and he needs to beat him with clean K.O or technical K.O since they will be in his homeland where he will have the advantage when they reach the fight to the judge's scorecards.

This is what Magsayo needs to be careful about. As he is fighting in his opponent's homeland, he needs to clearly satisfy the judges. Otherwise, the tendency to favor Russell here is always there. Hope to see Magsayo gives a clean KO so judges will not think twice about their decision. This will be a great achievement for him if in case he will pull an upset. Only few days from now and we will see this fight.

I don't think that Magsayo needs to be careful in this fight, I mean he has nothing to lose here.

So he might as well go all out and make it a war against Russell. Of course this is not is hometurf, nevertheless I think the judges should be fair enough to call him the winner if indeed he will be the close victor in this fight.

Definitely a clean KO would be good and we all wanted that to see, but if it goes to the judges hand he can also have a good chance to win.

Perhaps what he meant is that Magsayo should be aware that it is possible that he might lose in the judges scorecard specially if it is very close as usually the judges score it for the champion during close fights. So Magsayo should know that at he back of his mind specially going on the championship rounds. So he need to show more aggressiveness or teeth to sway the judges to score those close rounds to him and maybe he can escape with the decision.

Well, Magsayo is the challenger, he should be the aggressive, he cannot win if he cannot convince the judges but the better way to convince them is to KO Rusell, that's hard to do but it's possible if he study his opponent and train hard for this fight.
2704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 16, 2022, 01:47:20 PM
The Lakers lost by 37 points, and I would even say they were destroyed by the Nuggets. LeBron scored 25 points, Westbrook scored 19 points and had 0 turnovers, and even Howard played in the starting lineup. However, it doesn't matter since Jokic made a triple-double in this match, and the Lakers couldn't handle him.

Actually, I think the Lakers needed a beatdown by 50. you know, they were just standing in the defense, no spirit at all. If you look, they had  Frank Vogel, the best coach, But now it wasn't enough. The match was really frustrating to watch as a Lakers fan. It was almost like LeBron James vs the Nuggets match. On the other hand, Nuggets had 32 assists against 21 of Lakes. It really shows the team effort.

Lakers are always exposed every time they play a good team or a playoff team. Sometimes they'll have some winning streak but only against a weaker team and we should not be misled by what they show because they are as a team are messing up this season.

How could management have so quickly dismembered and dismantled a world championship team? This is the worst defeat of the Lakers ever to Denver. Very bad defense from Lakers. I mean some years ago they lost at home with Lebron James elegantly on the bench waiting for the LA Derby against the Clippers two days later

They've done the wrong decision on trading their key players for Westbrook, they have a big 3 but it's not working as one could either be injured and the other are not synching to the system of the Lakers. They are in trouble this season, not sure if they can still fix that big problem.
2705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: January 15, 2022, 08:39:35 PM
It's been cleared already, the fact that the WBO did not strip his title, that clearly tells that his excuse is valid to postpone the fight and give him another opportunity to defend his title. So sad that some people are still speculating despite the fact that the issue are alraedy cleared.
Yeah, we should stop speculating as this fight will happen, it's not canceled but only postponed.

Casimero is still the favorite and I think he will still win this fight and the bookies won't be wrong of making him the high favorite to win the fight.
It's the first time I saw some people's reaction about doubting Casimero, but I'm sure he will prove that he deserved to be a champion and to have a chance to challenge Inoue in a unification fight.
Its good that the decision of WBO is in favor to Casimero, its time for recovery process so he can go back to the ring and defend his title. He still the favorite because he’s a good one but if he fails to have fight Butler again, it can really affect his reputation. A champion never quit, Casimero should come back stronger and be more healthy.
He understands that this kind of opportunity does not happen twice in a row, it's either he will make it to the fight or wait for the WBO to finally strip him of the belt. Butler should not be a threat to him, but it's a mandatory fight for him so he has to take care of it before aiming for a bigger business with a probable unification fight.
If it will happen twice then probably Casimero has to not just give the belt but also retire in boxing as he is not fit anymore. Of course, the WBO will give him ample time to recover, and if within that period he still cannot recover, they'll not wait for a longer period of time and award the belt to the new champion.
2706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: January 15, 2022, 08:03:21 PM

Thurman has never been KO in his career, though he got knocked down by Pacman he continued and he even gets stronger in the later rounds that always result in a victory, unfortunately, he lost via split decision and that was really close. Thurman has power and good stamina, if he stays disciplined after a while of inactivity, then we can assure that he will win here, probably via KO.

Yup, he almost win that fight. If he didn't get that early knock down, that split decision might have a different outcome.

He fought well and if he continue to have that same discipline with his body, conditioning is not hard for him to bring that

stamina back, it's interesting to place some decent bet for Thurman he still have that good edge since he just rest for a while but

it's the same ground where his feet originally standing.. Wink

And he will do everything to win again. It's an exemption fighting Pacman, now that the legend is out and earns the best experience in his career already, it's time for him to come back and start dominating again, giving the top-ranking welterweights a real challenge.
2707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: January 10, 2022, 09:39:19 PM

I'm taking it, it's a decent odds considering Thurman is a decent fighter as well. I can get 1.64 odds from another sportsbook as my account is entitled to a price boost, so that makes it more attractive. Good luck to us who believe in Thurman, hopefully, he will win this fight.

Boosting is another great way to increase your odds, and you are right, Thurman's fans will probably bet for him,

Believing that he still that passion with this sport. That's why he's now back and ready to fight.

I would check that and if I have a spare budget, I will also place some bet for Thurman.

I still believe that he can beat Barrios as he doesn't have to adjust that much,

only needs to prepare with his old routines and start increasing his stamina.

Thurman has never been KO in his career, though he got knocked down by Pacman he continued and he even gets stronger in the later rounds that always result in a victory, unfortunately, he lost via split decision and that was really close. But probably they'll earn more if they are consistent in the Finals and of course more if they win the Finals. So maybe some players prefer to stay in the PBA despite the huge offers outside because they might be assured of their security in the future rather than playing outside where a player could only get a short term contract and of course high pressure since they are one of the imports.
This could be scenario and that’s why every team is doing their best to go the finals since it is more rewarding for them to reach that position and also that could boost their morale. Some players are not allowed to play to other league though, that’s why they are staying with PBA and of course if they leave, they might not be able to join again. When this lockdown ends, hoping to see more new players to come in PBA.
That's always the scenario, every season there are new players added in the PBA as they are drafting players, but those players who are playing with Japan's B-League, I guess it will take time before they can come back especially if they are playing well in that league as the salary gap is very huge, they'll prefer to stay for sure.
2709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Errol Spence Jr vs. Yordenis Ugas 3-Belt Welterweight Unification Match on: January 10, 2022, 02:03:30 PM
Both of them has something to proved, Spence wanted to remain on top of this division, while Ugas wanted to show that his win is no fluke against Pacman.

And this is a great style matchup, both can be aggressive and can also play defensive and then be a counter puncher so this is really a great fight in paper although Spence will be the favorite but it will be more closer that we anticipated it to be.
Yes you are right there mate this two fighter want to prove that they are the best  in their division . If spence will win this match then it makes sense that Spence is still undefeated and the best. But if Ugas will win this match I think that's the time that Ugas will be known in everywhere cause this fight is the one of those biggest fight of ugas sense spence is undefeated and very popular in the world of boxing.
Fans would want Spence to win so the big fight between two undefeated champions will happen, that will be a big fight in the boxing world if we will see spence vs Crawford, and now that Crawford is not anymore under the Top Rank promotion, the likelihood of it happening is very close.
2710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 10, 2022, 01:42:28 PM
And the Lakers lost again! lol the best recruiter in the looks like he's going to for a new talent coz their bigs are useless
Should've taken Cousins for that 10 day contract and tried him out. Now Nuggets will be have a stronger defender below the rim.

Lakers streak was broken and this tells they are not the caliber we are expecting, yet. It could've ended worse in a blowout game at 20 points upward of a lead from the Grizzlies but thanks to the 2nd team led by Austin Reeves it was cut down creating a 17-0 run. They thought it was over but he pumped the fans in Crypto.com Arena by giving them hope. I thought Frank Vogel is going to switch to his stars but thank God he didn't. Those guys deserves to stay in the game and finish it on their own.

I expected this to be an even matchup but seems like the Grizzlies are far better than them.
If you look at both the squads, the Lakers are stacked with top-tier star players but they lack a whole lot of chemistry.
But if you look at the Grizzlies, they play really well as a team and it shows on the court. As always LeBron had a great match - scores 35 points but he didn't get the support he needed from his teammates. This is very disappointing, they need to fix what's wrong asap.

If you look at the distribution of points between the two teams, the Grizzlies did a great job compared to the Lakers.
For the Grizzlies, they have the following playing with a big contribution.

Jackson Jr. 21
Anderson  14
Morant 16
Bane 23
Konchar 12
Clarke 14..

While the LA Lakers, only a few players scored a double-digit.

James 35
Reaves 16
Horton-Tucker 13
 Ellington 16

West "broke" 6 points. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

In just a few hours we will leave the year 2021 and enter the year 2022 which will probably have so many challenges in life, as well as in the world of boxing, we will see there are some pretty dancing boxing matches in 2022, including:

6. Josh Taylor vs Terence Crawford - WBO welterweight title

Source : Local Media

I'm surprised to see this Josh Taylor is a good and a versatile boxer but Crawford is just too much for him, the one fight Crawford should go for and fans want to see is the Spence fight, this is a mega fight and a legacy fight, there's even a possibility that they can do a trilogy, both fighters are very even in speed, power and ring generalship, Josh Taylor will be an underdog if the fight with Crawford push through.

Spence will fight Ugas, and Crawford will fight Taylor. If both of them will win then they might set up this big unification fight and everyone will be excited about that. So who do you think is the favorite if a Spence vs Crawford fight will eventually happen in the future?

Heat was just an underrated team, the spread was too high thinking that the Suns could dominate an undermanned team, but they are wrong, it was the other way around. Loved what happen because with that loss Warriors could catch up and will be in the number 1 spot again.

Speaking of warriors, they have a game tomorrow and Klay is officially back.

https://www.goldenstateofmind.com/2022/1/8/22874243/klay-thompson-officially-return-vs-cavaliers

It's mostly happened just the same with Bucks against the Hornet where Giannis and Middleton are both playing but
hornets managed to beat them up, a very good way for bookies to trap the bettors, still in a regular season and the
sway of every game is tough to predict.

Moving to your update, it's interesting and exciting to watch for Klay to play again.

It's really something that fans will be excited to watch, now we will see how Warriors current rotations will adjust with
Klay playing again..

Yes, Klay Thompson is back and we will now see if our expectation is right or wrong.

I'm checking on the players' props but could not find his name. Probably the bookies did not add his name yet as he wasn't expected to start with a heavy minutes.  you can check the odds https://duelbits.com/sportsbook/match/28808316-Golden-State-Warriors-vs-Cleveland-Cavaliers

Phoenix Suns are having just a great season and it is really hard to stop them. But Miami Heat made it last night by beating them, 123-100. They beat Suns even in an away game which makes the win more special for them. Heat just destroyed them especially in the second quarter and managed to keep the gap at a high level to the end. And this was the game Tyler Herro being the player of the game for sure after some break. He scored 33 points and played a big role in this victory.
There was a time it was cut to 13 point lead and I thought that was the moment they had been waiting for, but they got careless with the ball especially Booker who had been throwing the ball off the mark. 5 turnovers were made by him and I saw how bad it is watching live.
Tyler Herro talking trash with Cam Payne made it more fun and I thought it will be the reason to boost the Suns again but no, nothing good happened and he just received a technical foul. Phoenix Suns roster is complete, Miami Heat just played better.

Pacman beat a prime Thurman before his fight with Ugas, so you cannot say he is not anymore in his prime because he was the champion if his belt was not stripped due to inactivity since the pandemic hit the world. No excuses, Ugas were the better fighter that time so he has to prove that it was not luck winning against Pacman, so beating Spence should be his big goal.

For sure winning the fight was the ultimate goal of Ugas and even Spence too but the true champion will only reveal once they are already performing the fight. Pacman is such a good fighter during the peak of his career but it doesn't guarantee that he will go to win his fight with Ugas and that's what had happened, Ugas win the fight and we can say that even if he seems to be the underdog at that time he prove to win the fight, and he exceeds the capability of Pacman, and because of this recent victory that he had it leaves him no choice rather than to win this against Spence.

One thing also is he was not ready with Ugas style, he didn't train for it and he could not get in because of his foot problem. We can give credit to Ugas but if Manny was healthy that time, that would be a win for him for sure. Now, we have Ugas getting tested with another tough boxer, let's see if he really belongs to the conversation of champions.
2715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Errol Spence Jr vs. Yordenis Ugas 3-Belt Welterweight Unification Match on: January 09, 2022, 12:15:39 PM

I could say that Ugas is tough and good but beating up Spence is something like a wall.

That's an overstatement but I respect your personal opinion. We can always say that an undefeated fighter is tough to beat but they also has their weakness just like when we think that Ugas could never beat Pacman as Pacman is so fast, but look what happen, it was a complete opposite, Ugas dictated the fight and clearly dominated the Filipino champ.

I think it's just the facts though, no one has beaten Spence so far so maybe that's what his comparison is, like a big wall in front of Ugas. For me, it's not about Pacman's speed in Ugas fight, we all know that Pacman is no longer in his prime and could have lost to Spence if the fight push through. It's that Ugas is the better fighter that night and he was able to negate Pacman's advantage like hand speed and angles.

Let's hope that the number of cases next month will not rise again.

COVID-19 cases by next month the barometer for PBA resumption

Quote
When will PBA resume?
Amid the rising threat of COVID-19 cases, the league chieftain said everything else will depend on what the health situation is going to be a month from now, and from there, the Board will decide on the course of action it will take to go on with the games.

“Sana itong February, OK na tayo. Crucial ang Feb. Dapat mag-desisyon, (kung) made-delay pa ba natin ito ng hanggang saan,” said Marcial on Saturday.

We can't expect a return of PBA this month, probably it will be next month or March, if there's no improvement then most likely the conference will be put on halt.
Looks like the case right now is getting worse so there’s no way for PBA to comeback this one. Its either to postponed the whole conference or to extend it, depends on their decision but hopefull we can still them playing even on February, especially their imports made a huge sacrifice as well to come to Philippines to play, hope their VISA can be extended as well.

They can postpone it but I'm worried about the imports as they would be doing nothing related to PBA once they stay, and if they go back not sure if they could come back on schedule again. This new variant is really hitting us again, it has disrupted our economy that was slowly recovering, so the PBA has to make the decision the soonest as they can't leave people hanging speculating on a return.
2717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't bet more than you can afford to lose. on: January 08, 2022, 09:29:17 PM
So, I have a question here, if you are earning like $2000 a month, how much are you willing to gamble that you think you can afford to lose?
Please use the amount as a basis for your answer.

The amount of money I spend on gambling will largely depend on how much I need to cover my living expenses each month. Generally speaking, I never spend more than 10% of my total income on gambling each month. I know that doesn't seem like a lot. And, believe me, I'm not saying that 10% is a safe amount. The important thing is to consider the total cost of your gambling habit before you make a decision. The reason I don't want to risk more money on gambling is that, in case I lose, I'd have to cut back on some lifestyle expenses. And that is definitely not something I want to do.

10% is a good limit and dont go past with that limit if you dont like to experience some big problems yet even though its a small percentage but that 10% of yours will be accumulated then you would
really be finding the amount to be significant thats why its up to someones decision whether they mind of their leisure or would mind on making out some savings for other means like investment
or for more emergency funds which would really vary on each person. Gamble for leisure and dont really mind about doing it for the sake of income because
it wouldnt really be ending up was supposed on what you do have in mind.

Everyone should learn how to do the right budgeting. Gambling has to be part of the budget for leisure.

When we earned money,  the right decision is to prioritize savings first (emergency, investment, and leisure), then we will pay our bills, that kind of strategy will help us to save money for our future and not be able to spend it on useless things, and when we gamble we need to stay discipline to not go beyond our limit as that usually would kill our finances.

There is a chance that Pacquiao will come back but how many percent is that "chance"? Less than 1%.

He isn't like Mayweather that will return to the ring after saying that he is retired just for money. I know that Manny will stand to what he said and he said that he will be retiring and he will just help younger boxers to improve. Another one is that, Pacquiao really is committed already to politics because he is helping the people for a long time already and for him he can help more people if he will be the President. Even though many are doubting about him and saying that he can't be the President for many reasons (including me), he did ran for President. Another one is if Pacquiao and Ugas will have a rematch, I don't think that Pacquiao can beat him since he past his prime already that's why he retired.

Spence is really a great boxer and I'm also thinking that he will KO Ugas in less than 10 rounds (my prediction) but it might be a hard fight I think.
Agreed, the career of Manny Pacquiao as a boxer is over, the guy does not seem like the kind of person that is going to return to boxing just to make some money, Manny loved to box and boxing gave everything it could to Manny, but his days are over and now he is concentrated in other aspects of his life like politics, and quite honestly I have no doubts that at some point in time he will become the president of Philippines, so lets hope he can do as good of a job as President of the country as he did as a boxer.
Not only he is busy but he already retired from Boxing. if Spence wins here, there's no reason for him to fight Pacman because he does not hold a belt anymore, the best thing he can do is to challenge Crawford and do a unification match, hope Crawford will also agree.
He does not hold the belt but Pacman is very popular, if Spence would want money, then he will fight Pacman if he returns. It can always happen, one boxer declared retirement then, later on, comes back to fight again, so I would not close that possibility for Pacman as he might need to recover his money if he loss in the election.

Kings is a dangerous team just like the Wolves that they have a game. If not for their homecourt, I think they can lost that lead in the fourth quarter and collapse again.
The game will be in Staples against the Kings, but still this is not a sure win for the Lakers. Monk has been contributing lately and so is James having a NBA numbers in like in the last 5 games. But others need to step up, Russ should limit his turnovers and Anthony should shoot high percentage again for the Lakers to win against the Kings next game.
I think I'll fade that Lakers that time, Kings beat the Heat, so their chances to beat the Lakers is high IMO. I am not yet impressed with what the Lakers are showing despite winning some games lately because before this two win streak, they were in a losing streak even against a weaker teams.
The only way the lakers can win this year is if ad gets healthy and they get Russ to come off the bench with Melo. They kept struggling against a short handed team. On the other hand, it will sure be difficult for Lakers to win the championship with Westbrook.  All I want right now is just need Westbrook to be good at moving the ball in offense and guarding at defense.
I partly agree with the Westbrook case, as I have said, he is scoring his usual triple double, but they are losing games because of his turnovers. But if he can limit himself or stop like trying to do everything, as he no longer his prime. He can still drive with speed but this time, someone is going to met him up and most likely he will used his left or totally miss it (at least that's what I noticed him in Lakers uniform). And then we all know that he doesn't have a good shooting form specially his 3 point shot. Maybe him coming off the bench is a good solution or he should get limited minutes and let Lebron close out the show for the Lakers.

It was a decent game for the Lakers but even though they won, I think that there is still room for improvement. They have improved a lot after they had a terrible start to the season, but the chemistry needs to be more compact and fluid.

WB is giving away quite a few turnovers and he needs to work on it and Kebron is as always the goat of the team. Scoring, assisting, taking rebounds, in a word - doing everything everywhere on the court.  The game against the kings should be a win for the Lakers in my opinion. If WB and others can somewhat assist Lebron, they should not have a problem beating the Kings.

All they have to do is to maintain the consistency, without it, their chance to be in the NBA Finals this season will also be uncertain. They are a team that does not play with good chemistry, Lebron and Westbrook cannot carry this team as Westbrook is sometimes inconsistent, so it's hard to expect that they'll continue winning as I've seen in their previous games how they lose in easy opponenents.
