2701  Local / India / Re: What could be the trigger to push BTC above US $500? on: June 20, 2013, 04:31:10 PM
ASIC miners and worldwide adoption obviously. Daily thousands of new users are acquiring bitcoins now.
Soon bitcoin will be hard to mine from normal graphic cards and demand will increase.

The hash rate it self  will not  be the only  factor  driving  the  bitcoin prices , like empoweoqwj said  until and unless services and goods  dont  come up for bitcoin people  will have no place to spend  those  bitcoin, if they can spend the coins the price wont  increase  because  the  demand  for  bitcoin  wont  be that much.
When demand is low the  miners or hordes holding the bitcoin panic and  start selling  low and  prices  go down .

Yes, that's why i said both things. "ASIC miner and worldwide adoptation"

2705  Other / Archival / Re: [BOUNTY] Info leading to criminal arrest in ASIC Theft. Escrow via John K. on: June 20, 2013, 10:21:29 AM
I doubt he will even sell it, he can just mine bitcoins and earn from them as there's no doubt the guy who stole it or got it stolen from your house knows alot about bitcoins and is not a regular theif.

sorry for your loss.

Ps id you have taken some pic of your asic otherwise ask avalon if they can provide some unique identification of your machine.

and  i was confused about escrow money, you said john.k is escrow and you paid him.

That address already had 30 bitcoins from many days ago  Huh

2708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to shut down scammer / phishing websites? on: June 19, 2013, 06:48:37 PM
What DMCA has to do with a phishing site??

nature of the site is irrelevant. they use the same name, same icon...
if the original site got a trademark/copyright on it, they can file a DMCA.

What if site is hosted on a offshore DMCA ignored server?

Edit it is.

2709  Economy / Services / Re: Hack my site, receive bitcoins on: June 19, 2013, 06:47:34 PM
I'll take a look into this, but it wouldn't explain why the hacker didn't cleanly deface the main page and left some odd escaped tags - this is what leads me to believe it was done ONLY using the form.
You can check server logs to know what he did.
2710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to shut down scammer / phishing websites? on: June 19, 2013, 06:36:48 PM
i'm a professional DMCA agent.
this means i file DMCA takedown requests (tens of thousands of them) for a living...

unfortunately, you can't file a complaint out of the blue.
you must adhere to some formal rules.

most important, you need to be the right holder or authorized to act on his behalf.

this means, the original bitcoinstore.com needs to file the complaint.

They can contact me via pm, i would do it for them free of charge.

Or i can give them a working template email and basic info on how to do it on their own.

Op, i have reported that site, domain will go down soon.

Contact Registrar, they will suspend domain.

Yes, payment purpose is one thing that needs to be solved there. I am not sure if the process is one time or the recurring.

It's one time only.

blockerupters might be good for other stuff, but not good for mining bitcoins at current difficulty.

2718  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: June 18, 2013, 10:42:23 PM
Well yeah i agree, post count should be enabled on postbit as it doesn't have any effect on peoples user title anymore.
2719  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: June 18, 2013, 10:35:23 PM
It's interesting enough
Double demotion
But put this with the trust system and activity makes it harder to pull a scam
Well lets see how it works
But I do want to still be able to see my post count if possible just so I sort of know where I'm at Smiley

You can still see your post count on your profile page.
2720  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: June 18, 2013, 10:24:42 PM
Thanks theymos, i'm able to post here now. Looks like you forgot to update "member" group's permissions.

Ps: I think it's a good system, At least now people will stop posting spam and relaying on post count to check someone's honesty/legitness and give more focus on trust ratings.
