Is there a master list of sites that accept gold coin?

We are supported by CoinPayments.net.  Smiley

You can browse their store directory to find merchants that accept Goldcoin: https://www.coinpayments.net/store-directory

So many altcoins, which one to choose?

We have a brand new client coming out this spring. It's built from the ground up and features new multi-threaded code and an updated version of the Goldcoin 51% defense. If you're looking to invest in a cryptocurrency with a strong community, active development, and a highly marketable name, you might have a look at Goldcoin (GLD). It's currently trading in the 4-cents range with great upside potential.
2710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon to start accepting bitcoin on: January 22, 2014, 01:42:24 AM
For what it's worth, here is my chat with an Amazon rep a few minutes ago:
http://btcgeek.com/amazon-really-going-accept-bitcoin/

"We are working on it and will have this method soon."

Amazon is not going to stand by while the world passes them by. It's only a matter of time before they HAVE to accept Bitcoin to remain competitive.

This might be what happened to Satoshi.....please be careful!

First an invite, then the next thing you know you're chained in a dungeon alongside the infamous Bitcoin creator.
2712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon to start accepting bitcoin on: January 21, 2014, 10:27:04 PM
I think it's only a matter of time before Amazon begins accepting Bitcoin.

They're not going to just sit around and be out-competed by overstock.com.

Thanks for making this poll.  Cheesy

We've put a lot of work into Goldcoin over the past 8 months and think 2014 will be a great year for Gold!
2714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New altcoins subforums failed! on: January 21, 2014, 12:49:56 AM
I was thinking it might be useful to have a giveaway sub-forum and an announcement sub-forum.

Maybe that would open the main section to the discussion of alt-coins?
2715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 3 noob questions on: January 20, 2014, 07:06:08 PM
You can mix and match GPU's but I would recommend using your rig as a dedicated miner and a separate machine for gaming.
2716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen to Bitcoins if the $ collapses? on: January 20, 2014, 06:56:13 PM
I think that bitcoin along with it's altcoin cousins would rise exponentially.

However, keep in mind that the US Dollar is backed by the most powerful military regime in the World, so I don't see the dollar disappearing entirely.
2717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHY ARE THERE NO GOOD/SERIOUS COINS OUT THERE on: January 19, 2014, 10:54:01 PM

There is still one good coin. Which is Bitcoin.  Smiley

Take Bitcoin, add faster transaction times, a better name, and an innovative 51% attack defense and you've got Goldcoin (GLD)!  Cheesy  Grin  Cheesy

I was thinking about mining HBN and DOGE.  Are there any others that a newbie can grab.  What are some of the trustworthy pools?

We have an excellent mining community with lots of helpful members to provide you with support!!   Cheesy  Grin  Cheesy

2719  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Finders keepers? I found an address with 50 BTC via brain wallet! on: January 18, 2014, 07:27:15 PM
You could withdraw the funds and move them into your wallet. Then send a small about of BTC to the address using blockchain.info and attach a message with your contact information. The only problem is the owner would have to look at blockchain.info to see the message. Keep the passphase a secret, otherwise it will be impossible for you to know when the legitimate owner contacts you.  Or you could do nothing.

2720  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoins : Is it worth investing at this late stage? on: January 18, 2014, 07:12:12 PM

I have been having a chat with my Dad about whether it is worth investing in five or ten bitcoins in the hope that their value may go even higher in the next 2 years. Can you guys give a quick opinion about where you see the value of Bitcoins in 2 years from now. Have they reached their peak or is there still a long way up from here? Your opinions would be appreciated.

In my opinion, the greatest returns (and the greatest risks) lie in the altcoin category. For example a $100 investment in Litecoin at the beginning of 2013 is now worth $30,000. There will be other coins in 2014 with similar returns. The question becomes "which ones?"

Your journey begins here: http://coinmarketcap.com
