2701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: i need few answer from someone who is experienced in alt coins mining! on: January 22, 2017, 12:44:33 PM
@wotan difference in prices is double and more Cheesy

well he should compare zec with zec not zec with lbry

on zec the earning would be nearly double, so it make sense to spend 2x on the investment
2702  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Profitability against Investment on: January 22, 2017, 08:14:21 AM
always the same answer, if you have cheap electricity you can mine with an inefficient miner that will cost less and roi faster

if you have an expensive consumption you need a s9 which cost 2k new or 1500 second hand and roi in a long time, like 1 year
2703  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Noob want's to make money... on: January 22, 2017, 08:11:38 AM
earning 1/100 of the investment per day mean that your roi is 3 months, and currently it's not possible, the best you can do is 6 months if you have very low electricity, under 5 cent

otherwise you can do the trick to mine for 3 months and sell it back for 80% of its price, you should roi faster and get some profit, everything else is out of question
2704  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit yay or nay? come vote here. on: January 22, 2017, 08:04:39 AM
If its for the better. Why not give it a try? Its for the improve of bitcoin. I dont really know what can be the effect of this when it happen. I saw many people agree to segwit. But some are not agree. Can anyone tell me why? Theres so much explanation from the comments but i really dont understand. So tell me in a simple.way.

those that want it, are mainly paid devs that NEED it to work due to their investment contracted future features needed to repay investors. or sheep that dont quite understand the exaggerations and over promises made. and dont understand how much has been swept under the carpet and not talked about.

the majority that dont care, undecided or dont want it. are risk averting such a change thats only a temporary gesture of temporary benefit.

what are the other solution now besides the hard fork to 2mb? if there are not any and we can not hard fork to 4mb/8mb because miners don't agree, and they either don't want to activate segwit, there is no solution in this

i rememer that the miners were in agreement(at least the majority) with hard forking to 2mb at least, they changed their mind?

i think that this consensus mechanics is brokern, it should be in this way, if you have not a better solution you should agree with the best available one
2705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In a Bitcoin Disaster where would you move your Money? on: January 22, 2017, 07:59:24 AM
If bitcoin will be around with a new fork i'll keep the coin, otherwise moving them in the best altcoin would be a wise idea, i will not dump any coins in any case, for fiat ever

crypto is the future that is certain, also moving them in fiat will expose you to a huge tax to pay, but i'm confident that they cn always solve any bug or exploit with an hard fork, no need to worry about this
2706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in China on: January 22, 2017, 07:56:44 AM
if china will ban it they will ban the mining activity too, which mean that the diff will decrease dramatically, and miners will have an easy time making profit for a long time

you can't simply replenish 70'% of the network in a short time, the price i think it will not tank so much, because panic buyers will be all over the price when the value will tank
2707  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What is the average loss of profit in mining? on: January 21, 2017, 09:49:06 PM
the average increase per month for the diff was estimated around 10%, and up to 20% on some months

but it also vary in comparison to the value, it may increase or decrease farthur

But the increasing difficulty level determines the amount of BTC my machine will win. A machine with 11 TH/s power is operating at 100% efficiency for the first month. When the difficulty level increases by 15%, the machine works with 85% efficiency. The machine determines the amount of BTC that the work efficiency will take. Naturally, the amount of BTC determines how much I will earn.

it does not work like that, you don't reduce your hashrate to have an indication of the earning, you reduce the income based on the diff

a 15% increase should be equal to a 12-13% decrease in profit
2708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why are so many people dumping GPUs all of a sudden? on: January 21, 2017, 08:34:44 PM
you can alo sell on amazon they don't use paypal, should be more safe, someone tried it?
2709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why are so many people dumping GPUs all of a sudden? on: January 21, 2017, 02:30:21 PM
^hes saying the buyer can claim the box with the same serial number arrived, but was empty.

ie: you ship me a gpu i bought via ebay/paypal. it arrives but the box is empty, except for a 2lb paperweight (about what the gpu would have weighed). i send ebay/paypal a photo of the paperweight sitting inside a box that has the advertised serial number. clearly you shipped the advertised box, but theres no way to prove that it contained a gpu and not a paperweight

and i clearly said that i do a photo with the gpu inside the box showing the same code(SN) before i ship it, so he can't say shit like that

the best thing would be to do a video when you give the package to the courier with he package opened showing the gpu and evrything with he serial number

it's a bit of a pain in the ass but it's the only thing to do to avoid those scammers...

he can still claim that the gpu does not work..but at that point you can get it back i guess... never had such issue, anyway i'm not selling only there i actually prefer to sell on forum
2710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why are so many people dumping GPUs all of a sudden? on: January 21, 2017, 10:43:26 AM
I don't know if you ever tried to sell anything on Craigslist or Kijiji but the more an item costs the more of a headache it is to sell.

With $100 GPUs, people will come and meet you at a public place, pay cash and deal is done.

With $300 GPUs, people will want to see the GPU working prior. Do you want to invite strangers into your house? Most people won't buy an expensive GPU without seeing it working first since its too risky.

You need to consider these options when unloading 30-40 of your 1070 GPUs.

you can easily sell second hand gpu on ebay, in fact i've sold all my old 970 easily there, i'll sell my 1070 when the time come in the same way

or privately on another forum, only here it's hard to sell because of trust and stuff like that

The problem with eBay are the fees. Its almost 15% in fees alone.

Then there is the headache of having to accept returns or have scammers say you've sent them an empty box and they get a free GPU.

i just do a photo before selling, they can't say anything, if they say something like this i'll send the photo to paypal to prove they are wrong

fee are bad yes, in fact i increase the price when selling on ebay, by roughly 10%

Paypal will just say you took a photo but you've sent an empty box instead. They will get their refund, your only hope is maybe claiming the shippers insurance and saying it was stolen in transit by some postal employee.

no he must provide the photo of the code, the same box i've send, there is no way he can get around this

He will just take the GPU out and take a photo of an empty box. Or put a brick inside it and said the GPU was switched.

I've been burnt a few times with eBay and their unfair Buyer Protection policy that others abuse.

uh there is something called serial number, i repeat there is no way he can avoid it, box and gpu are tied with that number
2711  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there any possibility of a decrease in demand for Bitcoin? on: January 21, 2017, 07:59:24 AM
one thing is true the more people buy at current level the more strong this value will be and at the end it will be the real bottom, this mean that it can't go lower no matter what

if some serious bug is discovered you can always hardfork and restore those coins, so people will always keep them and not dump them for panic

but for this to happen you need to buy almost all the coins at the current btc value, not an easy task
2712  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: help needed with setting up a farm on: January 21, 2017, 07:55:18 AM
if your electricity is not very cheap i would buy 5 anminers s9 with 10k invested, they cost 2k each new, or you can try to buy 1 more by buying second hand stuff, it should cost $1500 if already used...

since they are the top miners they will have a better resale value than other, the roi time is still tough though...
2713  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Sold all my gold stock, Bitcoin trading now on: January 21, 2017, 07:51:20 AM
you cna also trade forex commodities and other fiat market with bitcoin, on website like 1broker, simplefdx or whaleclub

they offer a good leverage and support, the only problem is that they have not enough funds to cover everyone going on one direction(shorting) instead of another(long)
2714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will segwit be activated? on: January 21, 2017, 07:48:56 AM
Ver wants Bitcoin to split by hardfork just like Etherium

the splitting actually killed etheruem because now the market it's divided on two fork and you say this is a good thing?

if bitcoin was going to have the same phate everyone would just dump his coin as usual not to mention he would have double of the coins like it was for etheruem, this can only lead to even more dumping
2715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you still use Bitcoin if price would be stable for years? on: January 21, 2017, 07:45:57 AM
It would kill bitcoin eventually, because miners need the that the value is higher contraposition to the block reward that diminish

a stable bitcoin right now is not that good, we need first a higher value before talking about stability, but i'm already using it anyway no matter the value it has
2716  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin in legal sense on: January 21, 2017, 07:42:01 AM
Bitcoin is block chain technology where many countries supporting block chain technology but not bitcoin, even though it is completely digital currency, it is not like fiat currency because many people can create fake currency with fiat but it is not possible with bitcoin.

they are only supporting a centralized version of the blockchain, it's not so different than many scamcoin with high dev fee from miners or high premine

i highly doubt there will be even one country that will support the real bitcoin blockchain, or any decentralized one
2717  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Taxes on Bitcoin on: January 21, 2017, 07:40:29 AM

I have a question... so if i cashout 11k BTC in GBP i dont have to pay capital gains right since you get 11k personal allowance per year.  Does it matter what you earn as an income or does income not change captial gains tax?

you need to pay capital gay on the amount you earn by doing trading, you will be taxed on the revenue if those 11k are the net revenue than you need to declare and be taxed on that amount

What about if you are a long term investor? and only buy 1 time and sell 1 time? to me it seems you are aloud to cash in 11.1k in GBP per year of bitcoin and not get taxed ?

it depend on how much you sell per time, there should be a minium under which you are exempt from taxes, but it's not guranteed in all country

here for example under 5k euro per year you don't need to declare anything especially if the funds come from abroad
