2721  Economy / Economics / Re: The slave does not dream of freedom, but of being the slave-master on: August 03, 2021, 05:46:56 AM
A slave is only a slave in his mind. The freedom of a slave begins when he stops to see himself as a slave. You could take the chains off him and set him free but he remains a slave because it has become his identity. He knows how to be nothing else. This is same for people who are stuck on traditional currencies, they don't want to open their mind to Bitcoin or any crypto currencies because they remain slaves to the old master.
Bitcoin offers freedom to the masses. We are modern slaves to the government and the banks. One spends years working one's back off to pay mortgage to the bank. I truly understood the power of money when I learned about bitcoin. During war, countries would first of all block the trading routes of their enemy in order to weaken their economy and starve them. Money can liberate and enslave
2722  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why people plagiarise in the forum and how to avoid plagiarism. on: August 03, 2021, 05:16:00 AM
Plagiarism is easy. Lazy people like taking the easy route. They see a  article with good material that might help them get some merits and boom! Copy and paste. There may be a little paraphrasing here and there to make the work look original. Copying someone's work without citing a reference to the original poster is a slap to the face.
2723  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: obstacles for jr member rankings "signature" on: August 02, 2021, 10:42:41 AM
Money! Money! Money! That's all newbies (or alts who claim to be newbies) are concerned about these days. Even when a campaign is reported as fraudulent, members continue to apply and promote the campaign. These are the future legendary members we are going to have in the years to come. I know its incredible and rare to get paid for what you post but if there was no signature campaign or bounties involved, would you still be in this forum? If your answer is a yes then its not really a big deal whether you're limited to lesser campaign opportunities as a  junior member.
2724  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Social media's impact to the growth of crypto currency on: August 02, 2021, 06:36:45 AM
We live in an age where everything is digital, our kids are always on their phones 24/7, the internet is now the real world. Social media has a strong impact in influencing decisions, through advertising. YouTube has been used a lot in the past to promote pump and dump schemes. I think social media has done more harm than good in crypto space, every social media platform is owned by someone. That "someone" influences the propaganda of the platform  and everything that's against the ideas of the owner is censored. Censorship is one of the problem of social media. It kills freedom of speech recently Tiktok banned crypto ads. This shows how social media is manipulative.

Congratulations Mpamaegbu you deserve it! Your African proverbs thread is one I always love to visit. You have designed a niche for yourself in the Nigerian community and we appreciate you. Now you have to defeat the next giant that on your way.
2727  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria Local Board, All board discussion welcomed. {No Official Language} on: July 27, 2021, 04:02:04 PM

Nigerian government will always try to frustrate legitimate business. We wake up every morning to one bad news or the other. On the brighter side this will push people to embrace crypto. The value of naira is depreciating everyday. We might get to 560/$ at this rate. Save your money in stable coins.
2728  Economy / Scam Accusations / Bitcoin Mining Scam on: July 27, 2021, 08:30:43 AM
What happened::
This is a case of bitcoin mining scam. The scammers post a drafted testimony on Facebook how they got rich investing in Bitcoin mining. They spam pages and comment box with the same message hoping to catch a victim.

Scammers Website: www.cloudfxbitrade.com
Scammers Profile Link:

Amount Scammed: This guy lost $900 worth of btc to this scam believing he would receive his profit.

PM/Chat Logs:

Additional Notes: [/b]
Bitcoin mining is a scam, a old scam. Initial investment was $200 ..then "James" said the company changed to $300. So he had to pay another $100. "Mining Brick exhausted" That was the message in his account. So "James" ask again to add $1500. Which the victim opt to $400 instead and of course "James" accepted. After some days "James" came up with another story to exploit his victim once again but the scam has been discovered.
Word of Advice: Never invest in something you do not understand. Someone tells you about cloud mining do your research before bringing money to the table.
2729  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1XBIT.com IS BIGGEST SCAM ON INTERNET!!!!!!!!!!! on: July 27, 2021, 08:21:13 AM
You should leave a comment on their review thread . It's very disappointing that some of us have overlooked the scam accusations of 1xbit and are still promoting the platform. Giving fake reviews so they can earn more money from the campaign. The 1xbit campaigners are very vocal and committed for some reason the red trust doesn't matter to them.
2730  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Manipulation in Binance Futures Trading on: July 26, 2021, 03:14:03 PM
this is must be like a glitch from binance . these kinds are used to liquidate traders, have seen scenarios like this from bitmex where traders were also liquidated with this kind of wickshunting. this might seem like a copy strategy from bitmex, who knows.
I experienced those a lot from Bitmex. Bitmex imho is one of the most unreliable exchanges in the crypto space.
2731  Economy / Exchanges / Manipulation in Binance Futures Trading on: July 26, 2021, 02:25:56 PM

Bitcoin got to $48,000 on the futures market and yet my sellborder at $40,000 wasn't triggered. I wonder how this happened without my sell order closing? Is Binance trying to manipulate the market because I'm sick of exchanges trying to liquidate traders
2732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is more real than money in the Bank on: July 26, 2021, 01:56:50 PM
Bitcoin is real till it has this wide range of support from the big tech giants and government. Once their agenda changes, the value will go down swiftly
I don't quite understand what you are saying. What support from big tech giants are you talking about? MicroStrategy or other institutions buying Bitcoins for reserve isn't exactly supporting. JP Morgan called Bitcoin a scam but is now making bitcoin investment for their clients. Don't even get me started on pump and dump Elon Musk. El Salvador is the only government I know that has publicly endorsed Bitcoin.
I'm really confused with your comment. Are you saying if Bitcoin gets mass adoption it can then be manipulated to price zero?
2733  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Opportunities in the Crypto Space on: July 26, 2021, 01:20:17 PM
I was bit surprised to see that there was no mention of 'community managers', projects keep coming everyday and they all need CMs in their channels.
Yes you're right. I wasn't exposed to those opportunities at the time. There is a lot of that on service board, this goes to show how broad and diverse the crypto space is. Some folks are experts on collecting airdrops they never miss out on any of it
2734  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you run when you fail or loose in a trade? on: July 26, 2021, 10:08:23 AM
Running? I cut my loses when a trade goes sideways, there is nothing shameful in closing a bad trade it's better to cut your loses than to be brave till it comes worse and  you get liquidated. Losing is part of trading as much as winning even the best of us lose. Even if they don't brag about, most successful traders have bad trades but that doesn't stop them from trading
2735  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Unintentional plagiarism on: July 26, 2021, 09:47:40 AM
It is not intentional when a post stated "I've read somewhere about ____ and _____ about ____ when that user knows that it is not his/her content in the first place unless he/she will provide the link where he/she read that content from and it won't be a plagiarism as result.
Hmmm it still is. It is possible the user " forgot" to cite the source or didn't remember the exact source they got the in formation. But that will be for the moderators to decide.
2736  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you define rich? on: July 26, 2021, 09:39:21 AM
Being rich is relative. You can have a certain amount of money and be "rich" in one part of the continent and poor in another. Its better to accumulate wealth in the long run so you don't have to worry about a retirement fund. Rich is when you don't have get up in the morning to a job you hate because it pays the bills. Stability and comfort is what rich means to me
2737  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Unintentional plagiarism on: July 25, 2021, 05:37:51 PM
Recently made a similar post about plagiarism. It is still an ongoing discussion and one I doubt will end soon. The forum doesn't take kindly to plagiarism. If you go to LoyceV's thread. you will find dozens of accounts reported for plagiarism some new some old. Turns out that even if you are Legendary you could get banned for plagiarism you did as a newbie. Personally I think a first time offender should be given the benefit of a doubt...a warning maybe. That way if the user plagiarises for the second time then he should be banned.

2739  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ranking up is possible! 2900 Merits earned in less than 12 months! My 11 Hints! on: July 24, 2021, 07:14:13 AM
this post motivating my self to became like you..
I think some (new) users are getting the whole purpose of this thread all wrong, your 'goal' should not be to be like filliponne, but rather in developing sufficient Bitcoin and cyrpto knowledge (like he did), cause thats the only reason why filliponne is where he is in the forum at the moment, the 'goal' isn't solely merit earning, but quality forum contributions that will continually earn you merits effortlessly.

Having said that, aspiring to be like filliponne isn't bad at all, but it doesn't just stop in "I'd like to be like you', you'll have to actually work towards it by showing your contributions on the forum are worth the appreciation of others, if you're unwilling to make the required effort or you're are in the network and forum to basically 'get rich quick', then there's no need for all these aspirations, cause they'll sadly not be achieved.
I think it is good newbies have someone to look up to. Filliponne sets a good model for newcomers, they don't have to see merits as something huge. I have people I study on the forum, how they communicate and their post delivery. This helps guide to differentiate between trash and good material.  What I'm concerned about is them ending up as cheap imitation of filliponne and not growing into being the best version of themselves.
