2721  Economy / Economics / Re: We are facing a new recession ten years after the previous one... on: October 22, 2022, 03:54:47 PM

I think we are to wait until next month when US congress will be taken over by the Rep which seems the Reps are sure about it.
Maybe what we experience now can change for the better when decisions and policies can be reversed. Maybe FED will lower interest rates again. We are seeing banks getting bailed out already so this could go to a healthier economy again.

Musk could be saying the truth though. The rich people on earth are already speaking about it including Bezos but these guys are unaffected. They say things when they can benefit.
2722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: The first ever Gambling Metaverse on: October 22, 2022, 03:40:33 PM

There were similar 3D games before we just don't call it Metaverse back then. Metaverse is just the term used now to make hype but this Dragon Tale features games that are unheard of. They accept BTC though so maybe there are people playing.

Dragon tale graphics are just like the games we play back 20 years ago. if it's not a popular place, it certainly is not a place for players.
2723  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: "Gareth Soloway: BTC to 3,5k possible" How likely is that? on: October 22, 2022, 04:37:56 AM
Usually when the general public expects the opposite happens.

Making it really hard for a well-timed entry to buy on the bottom.

Soloway is somewhat part of those big investors who are probably chatting with the big investors collaborating to pump and just agreeing to dump at a specific price. For now, they just add more fear to retail investors, part of the wolf pack I guess who posts youtube videos titled "THE BIG DUMP is CUMING"
2724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much is your reputation worth? $500 or $50,000. on: October 22, 2022, 04:21:52 AM
If he pays $500 would he still be able to play poker again? Because if this is the case, why would I spend $50,000 for a wasteful talk?
I can just play again and let people watch me closely play and win again.

$50K is too much to waste but probably for some other people, they'd spend that much to clean his reputation and prove to the world he is not what they say they are. If I would look at myself and know I didn't cheat I'm not paying that much.
2725  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: "Gareth Soloway: BTC to 3,5k possible" How likely is that? on: October 21, 2022, 02:47:42 PM
He is always been in Kitco news to forecast scary things but is also not going to predict future prices. Soloway also predicted the price back in 2021 will dip below $20k in a bear market and it also happened. There are several support lines to break before it could reach the 3.5k low. There may just be a catastrophe that will happen that will cause this plummet. Hopefully not.

2726  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-10-19] Europe to ban crypto mining this winter on: October 21, 2022, 02:47:40 AM
Quote
In addition, the Commission will also cooperate internationally and build on the technical expertise of standardisation bodies to develop an energy-efficiency label for blockchains.
https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/qanda_22_6229

What do they mean by standardization bodies, could this be another agency to tackle regulation?
No time to waste and seems a plan to have no energy so they can ban mining and put in place the regulation and digitalize the energy system.
If there is a great way to benefit from mining, I think it's in winter months so it can heat up a room and at the same time make BTC out of it.

This is quite certain to become a reality everywhere including those countries where miners go for cheap electrcity. I have argued about a European ban on mining before and the reaction towards me was not very good as usual hehe. I am also quite certain that much of those people would also say that they expected this news development and it did not need to be said hehehehe.

Yes. Can't say renewable energy will be cheap because if it's the only source, it will not be cheap. It must be mandatory also for people who have turbines and solar panels to join the grid. Fight climax change all the way!
2727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Solana be the next Ethereum??? on: October 21, 2022, 01:43:37 AM
Solana have already made itself one among the strong project in the market securing top position. Solana founder Anatoly Yakovenko have come forward about the ethereum killer narrative. Solana is not actually trying to kill Ethereum. The creators of Solana try to develop it in direct competence and not in the event of killing ethereum. As ethereum is the market leader, Solana make comparisons their level with that of ethereum which keeps them progressive.

Solana Founder Says It Is Not An ‘Ethereum Killer’

At least the founder didn't lie by saying "Solana is not an Ethereum killer". It's obvious that's the case with this project after so many network outages. There's centralization at every level, so Solana and most other "competing chains" will remain below ETH for a long time. People should understand that it's not about speed or cost-efficiency, but rather about decentralization and censorship-resistance. Why would I want to pay or wait less per transaction if the blockchain I'm using is completely unstable?

For this and many other reasons, I think Ethereum's place won't change for the foreseeable future. At least, there are many alternatives to choose from. As long as decentralization wins, nothing else matters. Just my opinion Smiley

And for some, the price is an indicator of which has far better technology over the other. Solana is backed by FTX exchange which made it trusted by many investors.

But I don't think Solana will be the next ETH for there are still fewer projects on top of it. To me, Polygon has attracted more investors including Walmart and Warren Buffet's bank.
2728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is regulation really inevitable? on: October 21, 2022, 12:57:29 AM

Yes, regulation is inevitable. They were preparing it from the beginning and they now have systems to track everybody's transactions which we can be identified through the KYCs they have been doing. Through the KYC database, the government can gain control over us, and eventually, they will look at our assets. The future is kind of a dystopian world where every transaction can be seen.
2729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Faucet and Bonus Farming on: October 21, 2022, 12:36:27 AM

You're not supposed to outsmart casinos. Grin  Its a gray area for what users are supposed to do because these bonuses are just for promotion.

Although casinos may have faults in this situation, it's a kind of abuse when it's called Farming. It's why they are going to notice the users who do farming from faucets and bonuses because it's not normal to get a big amount from it.

2730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you win so big on: October 20, 2022, 01:34:43 PM
Forget your old friends? I don't know what movie you have been watching. That doesn't happen. Just live normally. $50k is a small amount when you buy what you really desire.

But yes I might just quit playing for a few days, a week, or a month and $50K can be spent in just a day actually. Buying 2BTC and you will have 10k left. That I guess I can use it for better tings like storing food to prepare for high costs because of inflation.
2731  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Realizing the value of holding cash on: October 20, 2022, 04:23:18 AM
There are so many people during bull runs that run out of cash because they like to buy all they could buy to ride the wave, which results with them losing a lot of money when the crash finally starts, it could go up a lot, and I mean A LOT, but eventually it will go down, so having a little bit of your profit cashed out could benefit you.

Same people sell a lot during bear run, whereas you should have cashed out at the bull run to take profit, and during the bear run when its low like this, you should go out shopping. Its low right now, and everything is looking delicious to me, I am running out of money from buying all these amazing coins and tokens, because I know they are at the bottom.

Have cash after you profit a good sum, but do not have any cash during bear run and buy it all.

It might just not be a good idea also to keep buying right now while the market is very uncertain. Remember that big names had come out to open telling 100% recession is coming.

While those new users of crypto come to buy at the top because they ride the bullrun, they might also do the same mistake in buying today while the prices of the crypto can go further below. Just a warning. Hold your cash that is enough to survive if the recession will take longer.

2732  Economy / Economics / Re: 76% of Adults are Making Lifestyle Changes to Prepare for a Potential Recession on: October 20, 2022, 03:56:55 AM

Even before the announcement of a big identity like Bezos people are already making changes due to the cost of living. There were already reports that people in Europe are skipping meals just to survive the day.

It's why there were also speculations that due to the high cost of living there are massive protests and to some extent, there could be civil war taking back the EU to the dark ages. Not just the EU by the way.
2733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Want KYC at Crypto Casinos During Registration? on: October 20, 2022, 03:53:10 AM

It's kind of deceiving indeed when they say no KYC but will ask one day especially if you are winning or withdrawing a huge amount of winning. But then, either way, the rules are not up to us. If you are going to play, you follow thier rules that's the only way you can play in the casino. The option that we have is to just move to some dapps that are 100% sure not going to ask you data.
2734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 20, 2022, 03:31:02 AM
As a pick I'll take Makhachev but if Oliveira's line goes over 3, I'll take him as a bet.  So it either goes money piles in on Oliveira, I take me some Makhachev hopefully around 1.60 or the money piles in on Makhachev then I take Oliveira if it goes over 3.00.
I would pick Makhachev any time no matter the odds, but I like one other underdog much more and that is T.J. Dillashaw to win against Aljamain Sterling.
This is similar odds like in main event and I can see clear upset and putting Sterling in his place.
All this card is amazing to watch and I can't be sure who will win in this fights but I don't trust Sterling at all.

I recommend watching pre-fight interviews of all fighters before making any final bet decisions: https://www.youtube.com/c/ufc/videos
and don't forget to place bets in Sportsbet Multi Master Challenge and win some FREE bets: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5417455.0

Watching it now.
After watching the history of Dillashaw from being a champion and breaking up with the Team Alpha Male and defeating Cody Garbrandt twice to defend his title, it makes me want to bet for him too although it was done in his prime.
Dillashaw being the underdog is what makes it more appealing to me.
Perhaps I will bet the favorite for the main card and the underdog for the co-main event. But above all, three fights will definitely be entertaining.

Sterling after fighting Yan is confident that can defeat Dillashaw. He had made good improvements to his fighting skills and the same strategy can be exercised in fighting Dillashaw.

Charles's belt was stripped and to fight against a fighter compared with Khabib, I can already tell it's a planned defeat. Its just my opinion though.
2735  Economy / Economics / Re: Corruption Should Be Taught From Young Age on: October 19, 2022, 01:55:14 AM
When I read the thread title, I was blown just thinking why you'll teach a kid to be corrupt.

The earlier a kid knows all these, there is chance the kid will actually do exactly what he learned. Corruption is everywhere and I think anyone will learn it when a kid grows. A sassy one will definitely suspect something is going on even to Church that accepts BTC donations, a person who thinks there could be something much more to it will think tax evasion or laundering.
2736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: October 19, 2022, 01:35:10 AM
It's probably because it's an exhibition match, and we're still like a month and a half away from the fight itself. Pacquiao as well might not be naturally pushing for publicity with it, I don't think he needs it nor is it his main profession in the first place. The Youtuber himself also seems to only be popular on certain circles after all.

anyway, Manny Pacquiao is having an exhibition match against DK Yoo in a boxing match on December 10. I am not that interested in who he is fighting but I'd still watch the fight because I want to see Pacquiao in the ring again. besides, Pacquiao said that he'd give us a "real fight"(he said in one of the articles I've read) which I hope he would actually do.
I do hope it's going to be a real fight, not just on Pacquiao's side but also on the other side. Took a peek at his YT channel and I saw how he has a few fights and showcases his skill. Also for those curious, there were a few uploads of the official announcement and press conference of their fight on his YT channel.

I did tried checking DK Yoo match with Scott, he actually has the skills and he also claimed to have martial art experience. Although he put his hands down while fighting Scott, he did a lot of head movement and can indeed box.

I think he is also following the path of the Logan brothers in Asia which he should be fighting the Logans instead if he wants more promotion. The only issue with this is the money since Logans its what they are after.
2737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Zero KYC tolerance gambling platforms on: October 19, 2022, 01:11:03 AM
A lot of casinos don't ask KYC unless you are a high roller. If you don't wanna test every casino for thier TOS, you can just search each casino whether they have had KYC issues before. You'd be more confident to bet on those with no issues and scam accusations. The best that you can do if you are just protecting your identity I think is just don't deposit a huge amount.

2738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: France tops the wave of leading crypto approvals on: October 19, 2022, 12:27:25 AM

It's about time also to make adoption faster in Europe since the turmoil keeps rising, France has to step towards protecting thier people from getting behind. There wasn't a lot of news about crypto in the country so sure this is a good start to wake the Frenchmen after all banks all over the world are starting to adopt crypto.

The link by the way is not working.
2739  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: October 19, 2022, 12:13:56 AM
So he's following the footsteps of retired boxing professionals who can't really hang up their gloves hehe. I find this unfortunate but I guess he still needed all that exposure to be relevant. The good side here is that the money generated from the event will be donated to Ukraine's relief efforts.
Better than those boxers who do really pocketed out all of the money that they had earned on an exhibition match. This is just like on what Tyson had done on his amount earned on a charity  which is something commendable for a retired legend to do so.Same goes for Pacquiao whom do consider on doing the same.
Its not bad honestly but just like the rest been saying that this is really lacking some hype yet i dont even know on whom he would be fighting.
If its an another known personality then we might already noticed this earlier or directly.

Pac is a politician so it's also a public show. He is also a businessman, there were articles that he owns a lot of businesses in his country so that's a very big factor for him to just give away his money. He doesn't need the money for he can survive and countless of his descendants in the future.

The fight had been mentioned in some boxing threads but this is an exhibition fight that also promotes Korean youtuber.
2740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your criteria for selecting projects? on: October 18, 2022, 02:04:33 PM

Agree to the criterias mentioned above. Community is important.

Hard to see myself investing in new projects these days because of the current market. But if I have overflowing money I would consider if despite being new they'd manage to get the token listed on 1 mainstream exchange. I would like to believe they are really that serious or at least if they want to scam they would like to pump it first which is an opportunity to ride.
