an online currency faster than bitcoin will be popular when all the other shitcoins are gone. I honestly expect people to look for something that looks professional. Other coins like Dash sound like scams, and coins like dogecoin sound like jokes. Litecoin resembles bitcoin in a lot of ways, and the security bitcoin will bring will add to the trust people will have in litecoin. Most people don't look for risk and high reward, they look for stability with small risk and medium reward, and litecoin has been rather stable showing occasional spikes that can generate profit. In my opinion it's the best option besides BTC, definitely compared to the coins that have been pumped like a rocket. What rises fast, drops fast.

Litecoin is outdated coin, i have abandoned it, no future. It will only be dumped in the long term.
I get why you're saying this but if you look at the facts it's a great investment and coin, it hasn't dropped in price like some people say, in fact it rose quite steadily over the last few years, second it's miles ahead of 90% of the coins today, and most likely will be one of the few coins that will survive the net few years, next to Bitcoin, ethereum (not a coin), and a handfull of others. It also hasn't had it's pump like the rest of the coins eventhough most of those pumped coins are shit. Litecoin, if worked out properly, could really see mainstream adoption, both for use as currency and as an easy investment for beginning investors who are afraid of the stock market.

http://litecoinblockhalf.com/segwit.phpI've noticed Litecoin is steadily climbing up, often dropping back a little bit but it keeps rising. Given the fact the chinese actually use litecoin, the possible LTC segwit activation and LTC being a good coin in general with a very stable price, i believe we could see a rise to 0.15btc in the next few months. EDIT: I'm sorry I meant 0.015BTC haha 150$ per LTC would be quite the shocker

What is most likely to occur in the cryptoworld in the next weeks/months/years? What happens when a hardfork takes place?

With the start of the litecoin foundation ( https://litecoin-foundation.org/), decent marketing and the possible segwit activation, Litecoin might see a new rise to maybe even 0.02BTC (half of its ATH). Litecoin has stayed rather stable with even a small growth over the last years, and occasionally a few spikes appear, which makes it a good investment in my book. What do you guys think?

I was wondering how BTC's price dropped pretty hard the last few days and how it was most likely the result of the ETF rejection, the possibility of a hardfork and the panic selling that resulted after these two events. In the past however, after bitcoins major crash in january '17, it rose quite quickly in less than 2 months back to a new ATH. Why did this happen, and what could make BTC's price go up again in the upcoming weeks/months?

Any idea hy bitcoin is dropping so fast? Last night i was expecting it to go back up a little so i could take some money out of it and put it in ETH, but now i'd sell with a significant loss. What made it drop?

What factors influence segwits activation? honestly i've been trading bitcoin and litecoin for about 4 months, but only till a few days ago i wanted to become more a part of this forum, yet i don't quite understand what it is that will make or break segwit, and more importantly litecoins segwit activation. I'm most interested in litecoin as i feel like this coin could still grow a lot. I feel like litecoin getting a 500% increase (25$) is a lot more realistic than bitcoin getting a 500% increase (6000$). A segwit activation could IMO really improve the coins acceptancy and adoption, and therefore it's value

I had serious doubt about LTC until i read about the new foundation. The last couple of days were quite volatile for both BTC and LTC, having gotten relatively high spikes during which i thought about selling to cut my losses, but now i'm thinking to just wait and see, hopefully LTC wil grow again. Bumming hard about picking LTC over ETH though, could've made some very nice profits

I believe Litecoin could make a comeback, i know it hasn't changed in a while but the price still hasn't declined (it even rose quite steadily over the last couple of years), it's also quite popular in China, and the technology is also really good. With the establishment of the Litecoin Foundation and better marketing, we could really see it rise back to 0.01BTC, if not higher. I for one invested only some money i don't need back right away so i'm hodling for at least 2017. Link: https://litecoin-foundation.org/
