2721  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Deriving pleasure in gambling even while losing. on: June 19, 2022, 07:59:32 PM
Almost everyone that engaged in gambling did so with the sole aim to making money through winnings from their bets, and I don't think there's any reasonable gambler that goes on comfortably smiling in the process of losing his money to gambling no matter how little in amount the stake might be.
[...]
You're wrong if you think no gambler can smile when they lose money. Usually gamblers leave good tips to dealers at table games with a smile, even if they've just lost a big amount of money when the dealer has been nice with them during the game.
Losing is part of the game because you can't win every time otherwise it wouldn't be a game of chance anymore. You've lost this time, but you'll maybe win next time. What is frustrating for a gambler is losing because the game was rigged.

2723  Economy / Gambling / Re: Which sportbooks allow winners on: June 18, 2022, 09:52:53 PM
Personally, I'm banned at some books, limited at some books and lose to some books. It has to do with the type of wagering, not just amount won. You can look at google to research but there's only a handful of books that don't limit or ban players. It happens in Europe, Asia, US, Costa Rica, Curacao and everywhere else that sportsbooks are taking wagers. It doesn't matter how reputable or big. They all limit or ban.
It's good to have the testimony of a professional bettor because if anyone read the thread he will think all crypto bookies are safe and none of them bans or limits winning sport bettors. Unfortunately most of posts are from shitposters as usual posting on topics they dont care and know anything about. That's really frustrating to not being able to have any serious discussion about gambling here.
2724  Economy / Speculation / Re: HOW LOW WILL BITCOIN GO IN THIS CRYPTO WINTER?? (Cast your vote in the poll) on: June 18, 2022, 05:57:38 PM
Bitcoin is a highly volatile and risky asset. It has been frantically pumped since one year and a half now, but we shouldn't forget it was worth less than $5000 in march 2020. Then its limit is only the ground and it could be very low. Only real adoption and real use by humans for tangible things will give it a stable value, but despite recent moves by some countries, there is still a long way to go. Anyway I'm sure Bitcoin will rise again from its ashes.
2725  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you realize that you are an economist without a degree? on: June 18, 2022, 05:28:43 PM
I think you mustn't confuse an economist and a trader. Trading is not a science, not even a soft one, it sounds more a gamble game actually where best traders are supposed to manage to evaluate in the best way the risk/reward ratio of current positions of the market. They present Technical Analysis as a science but up to now I've never encountered a table with the statistics of each pattern for the BTC market. Some gurus were saying the 200 wMA has the best risk-reward ratio for long orders, with almost 0 risk but the so called unbreakable support zone, has been destroyed today.

Isn't it like betting for FUN price is now one of the most sure winnings? Range $0.005 - $0.01 has odds 1.22 - yes, it is low but token keeps that price for many weeks. Second range is for optimists which believe price will be >$0.01, odds 4.14.
I wouldn't say it's one of the most sure winnings, neither even a value bet at those odds if you take into account the current high volatility of the markets. A crash below 0.005$ or a sudden rebound above 0.01$ is not totally out of the question yet IMO. BTW the base claim amount of the faucet is still increasing it's currently at 11sats, when you have few bonuses multiplying it, it starts to be very interesting for accumulating some satoshis.
2727  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies: Don't use centralized exchanges! on: June 18, 2022, 02:40:42 PM
Several people talked about this website above but I still don't understand why it mentions Kucoin and not other big CEXs without KYC. CMIIW but Hitbtc, Bitfinex, Poloniex, Yobit, Hotbit,... still not require any KYC to open an account and trade on them.
  • Poloniex: Are you sure about them? I did not use Poloniex since late of 2017 or early of 2018. Around that period, they required KYC. I submitted my document and successfully verified my account. I did not use it long enough but did they actually lift KYC requirement in latest years?
Yes I'm sure about Poloniex, that use to be one of the best move from a Cex in the recent years, but Poloniex has finally dropped mandatory KYC for registering and using its platform. It happened in late 2019 just before Christmas.
I've never given any KYC to them and I can still freely access my account.

2728  Economy / Gambling / Re: Which sportbooks allow winners on: June 17, 2022, 09:45:26 PM
All sports books allow you, no one ever limits them at the end for the day you must understand that as long as you are not breaching their rules then you would be fine, some of them might limit you if you have a lot of accounts or even if you double book or something, therefore I do think that it's essential to understand the importance of playing in the bounds as well.
Wrong. I have no idea why you think any sportsbook(FIAT or Crypto) barring a couple of exceptions would entertain winners in the long-term. It's bad for their business obviously which is why they limit winners if they keep winning consistently.

The only sites that don't limit consistent winners in the long-term are Pinnacle, exchanges like Fairlay etc.
Why do you think so? It is possible for small sportsbooks, who don`t care about reputation, but i even don`t use them - there are too much chances to get different problems except winning limits. But when the big sportsbook do the same - he get a big volume of negative feedback and losing clients. In this situation the sportsbook loses much more, than one man can win.
How they could get a big volume of negative feedbacks if they only limit big winning accounts while most of their costumers are losing money? They only discreetly limit players winning too frequently, a player making one or 2 big wins won't be limited because they know he will probably lose his winnings in the long run, and big wins give them publicity.
Besides that if a player complains on social medias, forums or review websites they could always accuse him of having breach their ToS, using another account or other lies.
2729  Economy / Gambling / Re: Places where you can bet 50 BTC on 50/50 odds? on: June 17, 2022, 09:24:58 PM
Feeling sad, looking for a place where I can gamble the last of my stack.

What sites can I gamble 50% BTC and double or nothing?

You may do this on https://freebitco.in/
They have “multiply btc” page, where you specify the stake, odds and just an expected result hi/low. There is always some margin, as it is not a pure 50/50, but changing odds you may decide about your chances.
I wouldn't just say it's not a pure 50/50 lol. Actually it's far away from 50/50 since freebitcoin is known to take one of the biggest house edge for a dice game from all casinos if you exclude its bonuses and contest prizes. It's 47.5% chances to win against 52.5% chances to lose in reality. When you are about to bet X0 BTCs it's a rather serious gap.
2730  Economy / Gambling / Re: I want to make a telegram live betting group… on: June 17, 2022, 09:05:59 PM
Has anyone joined @OP after almost 1 month and got the latest update from @OP? I wonder if the people who join the @OP can really benefit from sharing match predictions and winning them? I don't think @OP will come back after sharing his telegram channel and this is one bad example if someone wants to promote their telegram channel.
^ I suspected OP did not succeed here, OP online was on May 19 and I think there is no further activity until now.
No one will have an interest in what OP's offered, Telegram group sounds shitty third-party social media and probably no one will join there as OP said.
Betting should be done on an official gambling casino site because the casino itself seems like the fund escrow if it once reputable that who can entrust our money, not on the Telegram.
I suspect that is also the case because we already know that Telegram is a bad place to be a promotional medium, especially from people we don't really know before. Therefore, I wonder if anyone from this forum has tried to find out how the @OP's channel is. But if @OP could be more active on this forum, I think he could be successful in convincing people here to join him.
He won't get any notices if you call him @OP instead of his real username. Why don't you use @IAmVery3vil or PMs to try to reach him instead? Moreover it would be quicker to just look at his telegram group yourself instead of trying to ask things about it to someone not logged in for one month. You would realize it's just a small sports betting group mainly talking about bk8. Then it could interest you only if you are a bk8 user.
2731  Economy / Gambling / Re: Livecasino.io - 🔥 up to 20% cashback 🔥 up to 20% rakeback 🚨 on: June 17, 2022, 05:06:36 PM
BTW, I'm glad to see that OP is back again with an exclusive promo for bitcointalk forum members.
Yes it's a good news for bitcointalk members and also for Livecasino on the long run IMO. Because many people including many sport bettors and slot gamblers, are afraid of live casino games. They think rules of those games are complicated, it's only for experienced players and/or high rollers and they think they won't manage to play properly. But they are wrong, many tables have a small minimum stake, displays on screen make it very easy to play at most of table games and dealers are always very nice with players. Those promotions could help them to try these games without being afraid to lose much money, and this can get them used to playing there.
2732  Economy / Gambling / Re: Livecasino.io - 🔥 up to 20% cashback 🔥 up to 20% rakeback 🚨 on: June 17, 2022, 07:55:57 AM
Craps is amazing, You will love it because the minimum bet there is very low. Back on Infinite Blackjack, The only thing I hate about it are those unnecessary hit during 17 to 20 and split on 20 while dealer show hand is below 10. Sometimes this splitters took the extra card that is enough to bust the dealer and get the win.

Playing this kind of player is really annoying so I preferred the table game specifically the VIP table with less player so that I can focus 1 on 1 with the dealer and increase chance of my winning. I really hate to play with players that don't know on how to properly play BJ. It's frustrating if they hit the card that was supposed to be for dealer.
Are you sure they are not unnecessary hitting because of the 6 card Charlie rule applying at Infinite Blackjack? I don't know why but Evolution seems to apply this rule at the Infinite table but not at its VIP tables. Maybe it's a matter of time, they need to limit the maximum duration of rounds at Infinite game?
The 6 card Charlie rule means your hand wins if you manage to reach 6 cards without busting even if the dealer get a blackjack.

Try and play infinite blackjack and witness it for yourself. Haha. I’m playing all kind of blackjack in evolution gaming including infinite blackjack and I’m pretty sure to my statement. Those unnecessary hitting that I mention are those players that hitting even with hard 17 and above with only 2 cards. I know the 6 cards win rule because its clearly written on the table rule and it's so hard to get that. IIRC, they newly implemented that rule this year because it's not there when I still play on that table a year ago.

These players that doing this hit is either trolling or inexperienced player that being greedy. This is sometimes good if they hit the card that will be good for dealer but most often it result to bad hit.
It wasn't specified in your previous post but if you are actually talking about people hitting on hard 17+ with only 2 cards, they are certainly not highly experienced players you're right. It seems to be better to hit on a hard 17 when the dealer has 9+ and you are one card away from the Charlie, but not more than that.
However sometimes, for some reason people are convinced the dealer has a bigger hand than themselves and they just try their luck even if odds are bad.
Anyway the X card Charlie rule encourages people to hit on the whole, you have to keep that in mind when you play at a table applying this rule, that's what I meant.

2739  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can a brain wallet be trusted? on: June 15, 2022, 05:08:57 PM
How many times did you forget a password?  How many times did you forget where you put a particular thing of yours?  How bad was it when you forgot your e-mail password?  How bad would it be to forget your 'brain wallet' password?  This is not like you left your soda at the mall by mistake and you just buy another.  By forgetting your brain wallet password, you are just going to make us all a favor by having your coins lost in the darkness.

The ONLY way I think a brain wallet could actually be helpful is if you have to flee the country and are afraid the border guards or the airport guys will find your seed.  You can then create a very random and long brain wallet and print it on a T-Shirt you will wear to the airport and move the coins as soon as possible when you are safe at the destination.  Otherwise, there is no way I would ever trust a brain wallet.  In fact.  I would not trust it even in this fleeing situation, for which reason I would keep my coins there for the least amount of time possible.

Edit.  If I think about it, it actually makes no sense to create a brain wallet, even for temporary fund storage.  You could simply create a seed and print a poem containing the seed words on a T-Shirt and this is a MUCH safer way to store your coins.  Forget brain wallets.  Not worth the risk.

-
Regards,
PrivacyG
A T-shirt with a text is a very good idea but are you sure the border guards won't find that a little bit suspicious. Even if they don't suspect a Bitcoin seed, they could think it's a coded message containing critical informations.
Moreover if you are put in jail, you won't be able to keep your t-shirt.
2740  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can a brain wallet be trusted? on: June 15, 2022, 04:40:22 PM
There's been debate through the years, and some users have even run some challenges to try, and prove that they can be secure. However, generally brain wallets introduce additional risks, which if you aren't aware of could potentially compromise you. Plus, as suggested humans are generally absolutely horrible at entropy. We tend to think similarly, and follow patterns. It's very much what makes us human. Most living things have patterns.

The above challenge was never claimed, however this is a rather flawed challenge since we don't know exactly how it was generated. The question isn't about are brain wallets inherently insecure, it's more the human factor when it comes to generating the entropy. LoyceV, has a nice little thread there that demonstrates this weakness.

So, even if you believe you've made a completely random password, it likely isn't. Our thought processes are flawed for entropy. Computer generation of entropy is almost always better.
Thank you for pointing out this thread from CIYAM, it seems the challenge is over since the last funds have been spent in 2019 but at least it shows one thing. (Strong) brain wallets could be used for a temporary storage.
If you need to go somewhere where you can't safely bring any luggage with you, it could be a solution. I know it's certainly safer to store a seed on internet and to memorize its passphrase in this kind of situation since the attacker would have to find and hack your account first. But if you cant easily access internet in this place or if you don't want to rely on the availability of an online service, only few solutions remain...
Another famous use case is a way to easily and quickly give funds to someone you trust.
