2721  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: June 23, 2023, 05:00:53 PM

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12223003/Who-win-fight-Elon-Musk-Mark-Zuckerberg-billionaires-agreed-fight.html

My question is if this is just one of many marketing gimmick to make money or create awareness for a project they might be working on.

Who would win of course?

I will believe Mark Zuckerberg to win this. If you look at the statistics out there by dailymail.co.uk from the link, you see Zuckerberg is younger than musk, Zuckerberg is 39 and musk is 51 and I'm sure that age is a considerable factor in boxing. Of course that age reflected in the fitness of both and skill where Mark Zuckerberg is rated higher. Except he would take over the record of oldest boxers to have won world heavyweight championship like George Foreman or Bernard Hopkins  Grin

Can such a fight influence the crypto and stock market world majorly?

Surely it would. Imagine what would happen to dogecoin if Elon musk makes a suggestion that doge would be used to pay for ticket to the fight or Zuckerberg suggest libra to also be used and the promoters announces dogecoin and Libra to be the official coins for ticket payment. Those two coins will definitely be on fire

I also know bettings would be made for this, incase it goes down as reported. Who are you betting on?

Surely, I will go for virility, wealth doesn't count on the ring lol. I have seen many boxer going down on the ring despite their wealth.

But I'm sure they are just promoting themselves. For social influencers, it is business as usual.

No matter where the scam is coming from and the tactics the scammers are using, they are easy to know and avoid, but some people are ignorant and greedy about scam.

Na the whole truth be that my brother. The tricks wey these scammers dey use self don dey outdated. E just be like say you no buy or pay for any product and you come dey expect product lol, that one self mean say the person himself na scammer. Sometimes you go receive text messages from unknown number telling you to call back and claim price or something wey you win, you suppose know say that na whining but some people go still say make them try call whether na true dem dey talk. The simple truth be say if you no buy something make we no dey expect product.
2723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Success or Fail? - Talking about Gambling as a major income on: June 23, 2023, 02:22:46 PM
there must be a first move of making moves for another source of income provided if the gambler want to live up to expectations, he must have a target plan and time frame to discover more potential opportunities through gambling or from other sources to help earn a living in addition.

This is very important for every gambler because no area of job gives you total of 100% profit on monthly or yearly basis as there must be down times and such moment need to be taken care of for support. Most gamblers seem not to understand this, they don't think of diversifying but only to focus on one source of expectation of financial benefit and that is why when they don't make winnings from gambling after some time they begin to go down financially because they have exhausted their bankroll. What you see next is frustration that leads to addiction because of the hope to get back to their feet through gambling.
2724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Still Gamble? on: June 23, 2023, 12:24:19 PM

You are right that people don't want to become useless or irresponsible by getting into gambling, but it happens because they get into it and can't control themselves, they start with a small amount and wants to gamble for a few minutes but that starts going up over time and then they become addicted.

The believe that only gamblers have the likely tendency of being useless or irresponsible is not empirically proven. In fact someone that does something excessively is abusing that thing and as such can be addicted to that and might go into excessive less control of themselves to curtail such act. If you are involved in some act that you are not able to have control of yourself on that thing, it means you are also at risk of being useless from that thing. There are different ways that someone make a mess of themselves, like eating too much you are likely to be inviting obesity, drinking too much you can be intoxicated and drunk etc. So you can cause yourself trouble when you over do yourself.

The SEC issues with binance exchange is just one of the FUD that comes in the market once in a while and strong hands understand this and not panicked to dump. While the bloc splitting happens every 4 years which becomes most outstanding reason for hodlers who understand that whatever value of bitcoin they have will increase after the halving process. FUD will come in different ways and strategy while bitcoin value keep appreciating after each 4 years.
2726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between futures trading and gambling on: June 23, 2023, 09:24:19 AM
I think gambling is perceived as "an easy way out " but whether this is met is subjective. The reason for that phrase is that gambling requires little or no training, the most of training for gambling is to know how to bet and whether what you bet is going to be successful or not depends on your luck. That is, gambling is a lucky game. On the other part to trading, I have heard people talk of professional trade or trader and if there is anything of such name professional, that means there are amateurs. It means trading is knowledge based and the height of it which is futures requires high level of training, knowledge and experience to be successful.

Both gambling and futures trading are risky in their nature but if knowledge is required and not just luck it means the risk for futures trading can be reduced if proper training is adopted.

Futures unlike gambling. The main thing in future must be consistency. The more money you put in the future and the more profit you will get.

I think this allusion will be for both gambling and futures trading because in gambling you can increase your staking power for greater profit and for two different bettors who use different staking money, they won't be rewarded with the same potential profit. However for futures trading, I would think even with smaller capital, you can be building it gradually until the capital increase.
2727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you guilty of promising not to gamble for specific days but back next day on: June 22, 2023, 08:12:26 PM
The only way to combat this behavior and irregularities in gambling is to become busy with extra activities apart from tbe forum and betting, when you become less available to yourself, you will only stick to schedule time for gambling and wouldn't wager money when you don't plan to gamble.

I agree, having too much work to attend makes us forget about our gambling activity.  These jobs serve as distraction since our time is occupied by the job we have to attend too.     It is true that being idle the whole day is boring and we might attempt to engage in gambling activity more often.  If we want to avoid gambling just make sure that our time is always occupied or redirect our entertainment that is far from gambling activities.

Basically I think the most important thing here is to be discipline because if we are not discipline, no matter the amount of busy schedule we have, we could still get enough excuse to gamble at unscheduled time for it. The reason that human beings get to perform in what task they are given sometimes is because they are monitored or regulated to perform with some benefit in return like salary, so when you are not discipline you can over use your scheduled time for gambling when you are doing it just because nobody controls you on the time allotted for gambling. I have seen employed people who after coming back from work, they sneak out from their wives and family to go visit a gambling house to try some luck but they stay longer time than necessary at night while the wife kept calling their phone  Grin Discipline and control are important gambling habit
2728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Success or Fail? - Talking about Gambling as a major income on: June 22, 2023, 06:34:10 PM

For me gambling is not that serious and for me gambling is just for fun without thinking about becoming a good gambler.

Gambling is suppose to be a game that has fun and expectation of financial benefit or some kind of benefit to it. I think this time around the word gambling is really appearing in our daily lives, people now take it seriously and bet hugely on it therefore relying on it for source of income and livelihood. Having this believe is the reason that even when you are losing, you still have hope that you are going to win ar the next try because you are having high believe in the profit from it. Don't depend on gambling alone to be successful, it is gambling and based on luck .

2730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Easy or hard to quit? on: June 22, 2023, 04:00:20 PM
Of course it is very easy if gamblers can stop their gambling habit if they continue to accept defeats in gambling. But for people who are addicted to gambling, it will be difficult to stop... because it has become their habit. every week or even monthly to improve his family's economy.. it's impossible for him to stop..
An addict can change if he has found his saturation point in playing gambling where he feels frustrated never getting any wins and lots of debts which he has to pay off, usually gamblers like that will stop on their own and don't need advice, because with him not getting the way out of all the problems the only way is to stop and solve all the problems.

On the contrary it is debt repayment that makes an addict stick tight with the notion of trying his luck harder to repay. If you ask most addicts in gambling the reason for not stopping, they tell you that they are indebted and will stop soon when they repay. They promise to stop and give you timeframe but when that time comes they still tell you another date. Addiction is a serious habit that people may not be able to stop until they get help.
2731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you cheat in gambling? on: June 22, 2023, 03:29:58 PM

Will you try a trick to win on casino game machines if you were told and it is a 100% working trick to cash out?

I was going to ask how you can cheat a casino but even with a trick on the machine, the probability is very limited for that to happen

Will you bet on fixed games if you get the tip early?

Is anything wrong with fixed games? I don't think so.
If you as a bettor have a chance that a football match for example has been fixed, you can bet on the direction for winning your bet and that is not you cheating. In this case you didn't cheat but those who fixed the game did.
2732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do gambling addicts bother about the consequences of their actions? on: June 22, 2023, 02:22:32 PM

It is difficult to grasp or imagined the level of humiliation the innocent cleaner must have faced for an act she knows nothing about.

A question that bothers me concerning this issue is;
1. Do gambling addicts ever take a second thought on what the consequences of their actions can be not just to them but on those close to them?

They are just like someone going to steal. The main purpose is to go for the act first and they are mostly hopeful for a success.

2. Do they in reality genuinely feel any remorse about  how those affected by their actions might be feeling?

Once in the act, nothing else matters. So they might feel remorse afterwards or not but that doesn't stop a repetition of the act until they get help.

3. Or, are they a dispassionate victim of their own uncontrollable addictive gambling lifestyle?

An addict is at the mercy of himself. If he does the act and succeed he benefit from it and if he doesn't then he suffers the more from his uncontrollable actions.
2733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Friendly Match is Hard to Predict on: June 22, 2023, 12:07:10 PM
I just lost 3 Friendly Match last week ago, and all match results draw Grin,

  • Morocco - Cape Verde,
  • Germany - Ukraine,
  • and Indonesia vs Palestine

I don't know why a strong team like German and Morocco didn't play seriously when meet in a friendly match. this will be noted and experienced in the future, So if you are bet in a friendly match, be careful to bet, don't look at how strong that team and squad, just look and be brave to bet in a draw. This is just my opinion, not always all friendly matches result for draw, but with my 3 last bets, I have a thing to bet 70% in the draw  Grin,

how about you?

The reason that friendly matches are difficult to bet is because of the purpose of the match which is only as friendly as it can be including the roles which are loosen up , most times even the numbers of changes to make during the game is more than the maximum 3 for serious and normal football match. It is for recreation, keeping fit and for coaches to size their team up incase of a more serious match or tournament. The best players are most times not invited to play or are rested to avoid injuries. So because of this lowered standard, betting on them is difficult to predict. To predict draw for it or winning is a higher risk on the bettor. What most gamblers bet on it is either goal goal (g g) or 1.5 / 2.5. The believe to bet based on goals is because of the lack of seriousness and defenders / keepers may not put harder effort to defending goals.
2734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you find it offensive to be referred to as an addicted gambler? on: June 22, 2023, 11:21:46 AM

Self denial is deception. An addict that denies to be one is only extending the revelation day because people know you more than how you even know yourself based on your attitude and relationships with them. Addict gamblers are like drunk who will always keep saying they don't get intoxicated when they drink but have behaviours known with drunks . If I'm a gambling addict then I should be able to accept that without excuse except I'm not one, just like I am not  Grin

Comparison difficult but at the same time good. There are people who drink alcohol and would like to stop drinking, but due to their weak will and environment (even to a greater extent) they will probably never be able to do this. It can be the same with gambling, adrenaline is also a drug that makes you come back again and again. We could refuse it, probably yes, but so many events constantly occur in the information space that remind us of this adrenaline every time that it is not so easy to resist.

The thing is there is an extent that a habit will last that it will leave an indelible mark on someone and such person only need support from third parties to come out of it. If you have not seen a chronic gambler that denies the act even while on it, I have seen such. Such people only feel they can help their finance only by gambling and at that such gambling for them is obviously not for fun but way of survival, if they will at the end of the day. Habit is strong and difficult to stop and when it becomes addiction, it is harder to leave on your own.
2735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you find it offensive to be referred to as an addicted gambler? on: June 22, 2023, 08:20:27 AM

As a gambler, will you find it offensive if you are referred to as a gambling addict? will you easily accept it or try to give excuses like some other people do, saying that they are not addicted to gambling when the signs are clearly there.

Self denial is deception. 2736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stop gambling (sports betting, casino e.t.c)? on: June 22, 2023, 04:48:42 AM

But it will not be difficult to do if you yourself are determined to leave gambling.

Habit is not easy to stop. It is not done by word of the mouth but excruciating effort by yourself and people around you. In fact for an addict, it goes beyond your personal decision to stop it, there must be external support for that to happen because sometimes the addict may lose consciousness and in the mercy of third party and to be taken to a rehab center. Like someone can attempt to take their life if they have bet unreasonably and probably exhausted all hope. So in that case so many things can be going in there mind and it is not easy to take a personal decision in such situation.

2737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is to be blamed, the gambler or the betting agent on: June 21, 2023, 10:46:07 PM

So when I wanted to judge the case and possible settlement,  I query the casino agent how can you allow a customer to gamble on credit to the tune of 8k Knowing fully well that the gambler only has a 1k balance which already existed?

Also what is the probability that the gambler will ever return after owning such debt in the betting shops,  note the gambler's daily pay is 2k as a helper on the site,  so he has to work for 4 days to be able to meet that debt that is if he doesn't make any other expenses.

I would also judge same thing and query the ineptitude of the gambling agent to allow customer play a game on credit, a game as such like visual that only last within minute for a game to be over and the losser can bet more times and still lose because visual is just a programmed game and strictly based on luck that is devoid of prediction.

Anyway, to cut the long story to be short, the agent made a mistake that only ignorance would not be enough to exonerate him. Usually they are not permitted to allow customers on credit, in fact it is at there own peril for that to happen if they are not able to recover the money before the close of work because their account must balance before they leave the office. That is their rule and condition to be employed. So the agent is requesting the money not because the company have not deducted from him already but he wants to recover his money back, except there was a way he hid the credit from the boss otherwise he would pay with his money the same day or forfeit part of his belonging like his phone until the debt was paid. I'm talking of a critical example where an agent called me for help to rescue on the financial credit he could not recover for the day. So , the rule is made already to the agent not to permit credit or face the consequences.

Question is:

What is the possibility of the betting agent getting his money soon/considering the gambler's low-income earnings?

He has no choice than to pay his debt. The betting agent can retrieve his money through you if he can get you to sign undertaking for him that he will continue coming to the site and work while you make the payment to the agent until the money was completed. If I were the one as betting agent, that would be a better way to get back the money because the gamler loser if allowed without any form of threat that will hold him, he won't come back to the site.

OP I believe you are more than a month on the forum looking at your activities and you be able to know that the content of your post is not for this board. Please move the thread to bitcoin discussion that better suits it.

Meanwhile, it is not always good to discuss your bitcoin investment or earnings to the public. By public that means people you don't know and people you are meeting for the first time. You can become a target or people can start accessing base on the value of bitcoin and probably you were just hyping and fanning your ego  Grin
2739  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Casinos Go Bankrupt Because of Player Wins? on: June 21, 2023, 05:48:01 PM

You might even find that they "restrict" large withdrawals to buy some time to payout large wins. This normally escalates to players venting their anger on forums like this. (The good casinos will pay instantly)  Tongue

Yes when casino is not able to redeem payment of winners, it usually leads anger and show of vituperation especially for off line game houses but I think that is also same with the online casinos which is why we witness some players coming here to open up scam accusations thread when they win and can't claim the money.

Therefore, there are points here to note on the reasons that casinos will not be able to pay winners because they become insolvent from bettors winning.

New casinos can have this issue because they are inexperienced in most cases including setting of winning limit. Usually it is difficult to win against the house but in a situation that the players is sufficiently good, there are limits set for a winning slip. Take for example in Nigeria, gambling companies like bet9ja, betking etc, they all have limit that a betting slip potential winning amounts to and anything other than such is not allowed by the system. The maximum payouts in bet9ja and betking is #40,000,000 which is ($53.3k). With such limit, there will be an assurance to redeem payouts and the company won't go bankrupt.

Again, new casinos that have no affiliate also may go bankrupt.

Share your thought as regarding this matter.

I think this your question dey straight forward and no need to dey bend on it.
