2741  Other / Politics & Society / Ron Paul: ‘NATO’s an Entangling Alliance We’d Be Better Off Without’ on: April 22, 2015, 04:21:58 AM
Speaking Monday on the Alan Colmes Show, Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity Chairman Ron Paul discussed the danger the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) poses to peace.

Paul explains his reasoning for shutting down NATO in response to a query from Colmes:
Colmes: You also believe NATO should be shut down at this point, correct?

Paul: Yeah, NATO for me is one of those entangling alliances that our Founders suggested we not get involved in. And, you know, Robert Taft was from the Old Right, which was more libertarian. Under the circumstances following World War II, he advised us not to get into NATO because it would invite more problems. And I think NATO is part of the reason we go into Libya, into Syria, now in Ukraine. And that’s all under NATO, It’s really not checking in with the American people whether it’s a good idea or not. I think that NATO’s an entangling alliance that we would be better off without.

Listen below to the complete 12 minute interview, in which Paul also addresses matters including neoconservatives’ efforts to block an Iran nuclear agreement, US involvement in the Ukraine coup and ongoing conflict, naval buildup near Yemen, opening up of trade between Cuba and America, and serious economic problems in America:

It sets an example of integrating into bitcoin for social sites, especially for the biggest social website Facebook.
Pretty sure this is integration on a competing social site from south america, not facebook. It is pretty big news despite whatever else you might think about Xapo.
I think he means it will show facebook they aren't first at it and maybe push them to do it.
If that's the case then it's very good news and very trendy for the future. Bullish and then some wouldn't you agree? Good timing to flip the bird to bears and this prior current market.

On a related note, all other candidates were quoted as saying "A bit-what?"  Grin
Pretty much yeah. The others, both republican frauds and their buddies in the drone-idiot party, are not willing to at least pay any lip service to our landscape. Get it? Even lefty leaning foreigners of whatever country need to realize that the crapshoot of America needs the likes of Rand Paul for his acceptance of Bitcoin and a realist/normal foreign policy that isn't raping the rest of the world. If you're here and worth your marbles, you're for Rand Paul for US President in 2016. Help out however you can in your respective areas.
2744  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-4-21] Rand Paul Chides 'Naysayers' Who Want to Regulate Bitcoin on: April 22, 2015, 04:02:29 AM
The regulators always win, even if there was a constitutional amendment that said "Cryptocurrency shall not be infringed, and we really mean it just like we meant the 2A."
I take solace in that there's someone with guts that is standing up for Bitcoin and all it has to offer. Nothing from anyone else that is running or thinking doing so. Rand's support here was premeditated and real. His social media and digital game is hot and on point and supporting this ecosystem is just the tip of the iceberg.

Jeb's favorite part of Obama's Presidency? NSA Spying

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) really likes at least one part of Barack Obama's presidency: the NSA's mass collection of Americans' phone records.

During an interview on Michael Medved's radio program on Tuesday, Bush called the program, which was revealed in disclosures by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden, the best part of Obama's presidency.

"I would say the best part of the Obama administration has been his continuance of the protections of the homeland using the big metadata programs, the NSA being enhanced," said Bush, who is considering a 2016 presidential run. "Even though he never defends it, even though he never admits it, there has been a continuation of a very important service, which is the first obligation of our national government is to keep us (he means the state-USgov-interests) safe."

Bush added that there was technology in place that could be used to guard both the United States and the civil liberties of Americans.

This forum and community is filled w/ brain power so I know you all get what's up here besides the neighborhood troll and her socks. Rubio is on board with this and Walker hasn't even bothered to make a statement on this major issue, I can't trust Cruz either at this point. This issue combined with foreign policy is why we all have to line up behind Rand in the primary and the general.

Rand Paul: Lindsey Graham and McCain ‘Lapdogs for Obama’

Rand Paul is not going to take insults from the Republican Party’s hawkish senators lying down. During a Tuesday morning appearance on Fox News, the GOP presidential candidate blasted Sens. Lindsey Graham and John McCain as “lapdogs” for President Barack Obama‘s policies.

On Monday morning, Sen. Graham told Morning Joe that Paul is “more wrong than right” on foreign policy, and that “even Obama” is stronger than the libertarian-leaning senator when it comes to dealing with threats abroad. The U.S. Senator from South Carolina accused Sen. Paul of wanting to “lead from behind” on global issues. Additionally, Sen. McCain — Graham’s best friend for life — charged that Paul “just doesn’t understand” foreign policy.

Paul fired back at both senators during an interview with Fox’s Bill Hemmer (emphasis added):

This comes from a group of people wrong about every policy issue over the last couple decades. I’ll give you a couple examples where they support the president’s foreign policy and I don’t: They supported Hillary Clinton’s war in Libya; they supported President Obama’s bombing of Assad; they also support President Obama’s foreign aid to countries that hate us. So if there is anyone who is most opposed to President Obama’s foreign policy, it’s me. People who call loudest to criticize me are great proponents of President Obama’s foreign policy — they just want to do it ten times over. I’m only one actually standing up and saying the war in Libya was a mistake; the bombing of Assad would make ISIS stronger; the arms to the Islamic rebels would make ISIS stronger. So I’m really the one standing up to President Obama. And these people are essentially the lapdogs for President Obama and I think they’re sensitive about that.

If you've noted my other posted articles about Graham talking shit on Rand, Rand just basically just said, kiss my ass and laid it on the neocon community in a strong way. You can see the video of it for yourself in the post before this one. It's like a 6 min interview. I look forward to more of Rand going on offense against these war-wanting jackasses. Note to planet Earth and everyone in this community: Rand Paul is the man to stop this shit. Do what you can to help, spread the word abroad or donate and get active for him in the states.

This is Rand's latest crown jewel. Pay your respects! and tell/show your friends about it.

If Republicans Keep Attacking Hillary, The 2016 “Vagina” Turnout Is Going To Be 100%…

Radio host and MSNBC talking head Stephanie Miller was on Politics Nation with Al Sharpton Monday afternoon when she made an off the cuff, and off the wall, prediction about the 2016 election. Trotting out the tired canard that talking about Hillary’s age or criticizing her in any way is sexist, Miller contends that if Republicans keep attacking her, something unusual will happen.

“What I like as a woman, Rev? Is keep playing this age card and this sexist card, we’re going to have, like, a hundred percent turnout of everyone in the country with a vagina,” says Miller. She then goes on to slam Rubio as the real candidate of yesterday before saying “please take us back to a third Clinton term, please!”

Yep, this line of idiocy is why I fucking hate feminazis. It's like she's bending over backwards in her retardedness to defend her queen or muff her patch while she's at it.
2749  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Q: Is it better for a child to be born or to be loved? on: April 22, 2015, 02:21:50 AM
My view is that the parents are financially stable enough to bear and subsequently love their child and do all necessary things to continually improve the life of that child into young adulthood. Having kids by mistake isn't responsible and having them to game the welfare system is downright parasitical. Subsidize something and you get more of it.

What this makes me think of is many of the elder black folks viewing this article or those there in this town, are reminiscing of how things were back in the south in the 50s and 60s in terms of how they could be treated. Not saying these cops can't get other policing gigs if they move elsewhere but leaving a cush policing job of a town of less than a thousand is just unreal. Are their 'safety concerns' somehow linked to their neighbor state of Missouri and Ferguson in some strange way?

Will Rand Paul's movement build the broad movement for liberty?
Three Questions About Rand Paul
How his presidential campaign can help or hurt the cause of liberty

It doesn't lead through Iowa and New Hampshire.Paramount PicturesI do not expect Rand Paul to win his party's presidential nomination this time around. I also live in a state where you have to be a registered Republican to vote in the GOP primary, so I'm not going to be in a position to cast a ballot for or against him next year anyway—not unless he defies my expectations and becomes the nominee. And I don't have tremendous faith that even a well-meaning president, should such a beast exist, can tame a vast and entrenched system of power.

So the question Would we be better off with Rand Paul as president? isn't particularly important to me right now. I'm more interested in three other issues:

1. What will Rand Paul the presidential candidate do to Rand Paul the senator? It'll be a few more months before we know this for sure, but it looks like Paul won't have to give up his Senate seat to run for president. That's good: Despite Paul's steps closer to the conventional right, he's still miles preferable to pretty much anyone likely to replace him. But in the meantime, Paul's drift toward Hannityville is bound to be reflected in how he votes, what bills he introduces, and, in general, where he chooses to take a stand.

Valuable though it may be to imagine what Paul could do if he's elected president, I spend more time thinking about what he can do with the office he has now. The Senate is a place where just one or two people can put the brakes on a terrible idea—as Paul reportedly did in 2011 by blocking a move toward bringing Georgia into NATO. It will be a shame if Paul's presidential ambitions make him less willing to exercise his power in such ways.

The flipside is that those ambitions may have made him more likely to make big pushes on the issues where he isn't folding. Right now it looks like he's standing by his deviations from GOP orthodoxy on criminal justice. Can that make up for his meeker positions on foreign policy?

Just for the record, the website where this was written is owned by a heavy Catholic Constitutional type guy so I'm sure that has some bearing on the site's commentary. They mean well but they take the dismissal approach to voluntarism. They support Rand so I'm cool with that. However, the owner does not like Bitcoin at all.

2756  Economy / Securities / Re: [AUTOTRADE]BTC hedge fund by BtcAutoTrader(The first automated BTC hedge fund) on: April 22, 2015, 12:20:08 AM
AUTOTRADE is in no position to, and has no right to demand that there shareholders act within a specific very short timeframe or else they steal there shares, autotrade should follow there contract and pay the dividend that is missing for a year or so, when they have fulfilled that, then they can start talking with there shareholders if they like to change anything in the future like where the shares should be listed and such things.
I agree with you and their rationale is supposedly cause they can't get CS to close the IPO. Nevertheless, they've yet to answer for not paying dividends for quite some time as the deposit/withdrawal functions work on CS as I withdraw my monthly div from CVFS with no problems. What makes no sense is why Bentley and co even posted an update message on CS at all, indicating that they were making changes w/ the assumption that they were going to start paying divs at some point. Just stay quiet and pretend like this whole thing is over. My only thoughts is it's a big 'screw you' to every shareholder that would see the update.

When Leftists Attack

“So Rand Paul,   you’ve been beating your wife all these years,  when will you stop beating your wife?”   It’s a fair question, if you are a leftist media hack who just wants to score points for your cultural Marxist team, rather than engage in intelligent discussion.   On Rand Paul’s  initial announcement of his presidential candidacy, the leftwing media was out in unison trying to smear the biggest threat in the GOP primary to their top contender, Hillary Clinton,  who Rand is outpolling in key swing states.

Rand Paul handled himself masterfully in his interviews  and if I were advising him I wouldn’t change a thing and here’s why:   When  Savannah Guthrie of leftwing MSNBC  goes into her interview by trying to frame the discussion with misleading and false information Rand doesn’t allow her to control the discussion and makes sure he gets time to answer.  That is what he needs to do in every discussion with interviewers who have an agenda no matter what names the media may call him because how you frame the story will change the story.  Like most Americans,  I hate interviews that are biased and I hate being  lied to by the media, whether they are on the right or the left.

2758  Other / Politics & Society / Why the Libertarian Party is Hurting Liberty on: April 21, 2015, 10:53:41 PM
It is an interesting dilemma that true pro-liberty Americans find themselves in during 2015. On one hand, it is important for us to vote our consciences and not just for party affiliation after a candidates name. On the other hand, we have a widening gap between Republicans and Democrats with conservatism enveloping the establishment on the right and socialism swallowing the old school Democrats whole. What does a person concerned with protecting freedom do come election time to make sure that ours isn’t the generation that watches liberty die a horrible death? Well, it starts with utilizing common sense and it ends with not being a petulant child…let me explain…

Let’s evaluate 4 reasons why the Libertarian Party and their candidate, Gary Johnson, are actively hurting our nation by running a third party candidate in 2016 and, when it all comes down to brass tacks, why the Libertarian Party isn’t pro-liberty to begin with.

1. Gary Johnson is all for growing government as long as it fits his agenda.

Gay marriage is a hot topic today, however, most have no idea what the history of government regulation of marriage is or why it is an incredible violation of privacy and rights to have government involved in our marriages in the first place. The LP, as a party, is for gay marriage rights. On the surface this looks very “liberty driven” to most in the nation until you realize all this is doing is extending to the government the right to financially incentivize MORE relationships through taxation instead of taking their existing power with straight marriage away form them. Why is it that we are all for MORE government as long as we feel that the MORE apply’s to everyone? Call me crazy, but Governor Johnson and the LP’s stance, as a whole on marriage, seem to be anti-liberty, not pro.

2. Limiting government in and of itself doesn’t solve our problem long term, which is a concept that eludes most in the LP.

Look, I am all for ending the welfare state and all of the alphabet soup government agencies as soon as possible, but if we did this, all at once, there would literally be looting and mass hysteria in the streets. It is borderline comical to me to listen to Libertarian Party members chat with each other about ending foreign wars and about getting rid of taxes in one fell swoop without any real plan of how we will deal with loss of revenue and structure in the short term. Having a vision for the future is one thing, but without a bridge to get you there we will all end up drowning in the waters before we achieve our goals. Taking a more balanced, libertarian conservative approach, and cutting the waste in our nation and phasing out government agencies that are completely worthless allows us to build the structure necessary to keep the bureaucracy gone for good.

Top 10 Reasons Not to Vote for Rand Paul

Paul Threatens to Rock the Boat on the Status Quo

Rand Paul is believed by most to be most “pro-liberty” presidential candidate running under the banner of either major political party in the 2016 election. However, his supposed “defense of individual rights and personal responsibility” should not sit well with everyone. After all, since when has the United States ever been known to bend to the wills of these made-up and completely foreign ideals of “liberty” and “freedom”? Here are the top 10 reasons not to vote for Rand Paul.

1. You love endless wars.

Who cares about the dire financial and social consequences of being perpetually at odds with ever-changing enemies? We have to prove to the world that we’re not going to be pushed around. Not only that, we are not going to let anyone else take away our freedoms; that’s the job of our own leaders! That’s why it has to be made clear that Paul is “dangerous” on foreign policy due to his belief that soldiers should only be sent to war as a last result. It’s really besides the point whether such attacks are actually true.

Play Paul! Rand to Play in Congressional Baseball Game

Break out the “Take Me Out to the Paul Game” T-shirts.

Though he will be busy on the presidential campaign trail, Sen. Rand Paul will be taking the plate at the 54th Annual Roll Call Congressional Baseball Game this year, a campaign aide confirmed Monday to HOH.

The Kentucky Republican has participated in the game since he first came to the Senate in 2011, and he will head back to Nationals Park on June 11 in hopes of leading the GOP to its first win against the Democrats in six years. Paul will also likely bring his legion of fans, who have been some of the crowd’s standouts.

Playing baseball for Republicans each year is in Paul’s blood. His father, former Rep. Ron Paul, also played for the GOP during his congressional tenure. The elder Paul is believed to have been the first person to hit a home run out of the ballpark, and he was inducted into the Congressional Baseball Hall of Fame in 2012.
