2741  Economy / Speculation / Re: Losing faith on: October 17, 2014, 10:38:10 AM
Bitcoins price is too bloated to promise people easy riches. And that has been the main attraction to buy BTC.
BTC's large market cap is made out of artificial deficit and fraudulent trading by MtGox's bots and fantasy fiat.
So, now the market will just slowly run dry while new alternatives emerge that have better technological properties and a smaller market cap, that will attract the get rich quick gamblers again.

Bitter troll who missed out on any gains posting negative tripe again. You reference get rich quick gamblers, oh the irony. If alt coins are so amazing, why devote any wasted time on here at all?

Last time I held BTC more then 2 days was on December 2013, when it was over 1000$. I don't feel exactly sad that I haven't played these little pumps and dumps that have happened since.

Why are you here posting negative shit if you haven't held btc for more than two days since last December?

I distinctly remember seeing you post a positive prediction for btc on the wall a few weeks ago. The price inexplicably sold off lower sadly.

It is pretty obvious you are dying to catch the next bitcoin bubble. Why not just be honest?
2742  Economy / Speculation / US exchanges coming online on: October 17, 2014, 10:31:48 AM
Did I dream it or did Ben Lawsky say he expected US exchanges to come online in 2015?

It just occurred to me that this potentially great and bullish news. A regulated exchange in the US would become extremely popular and likely lead price. It would allow big players to safely enter the market. At the moment other exchanges such as bit stamp, finex, btce or the Chinese exchanges are not regulated and therefore we are forced to trust that they are not insider trading, moving the market or fractional reserving etc. After gox a fully regulated US exchange is just what bitcoin needs.

I just watched the coinbase AMA. They speculated on where they see the bitcoin price by next October. Obviously they have a vested interest, but the founders predicted 1500 dollars to 4000 dollars. Pretty much the only way that could happen is by another price bubbling. Their reasoning was that bitcoin adoption is steadily rising and that a 20 billion dollar market cap does not seem unlikely. They also pricked the myth that merchant selling accounts for any significant down pressure. I have long thought that was propaganda spouted by short sellers.

There have been hundreds of millions of dollars of VC funding this year alone. This forum is (understandably) obsessed about the price. And yes it does have to pass up through resistance before if can go on to make higher ATH's. But that process in the past has happened very quickly indeed.

The fundamentals around bitcoin have been improving steadily throughout the year, as the price has dipped lower and lower and lower. I think the bottom is in. The next year should be very exciting. Don't get shaken out of your positions if you made it this far holders! Smiley

Looking to buy again next day or two. 3day MACD kept barely negative by the obvious selling yesterday. This weekend could be exciting. We may dip lower, or instead take out 4xx again and stairstep higher. If we go below 350 for any length of time I will just buy immediately. At this stage I am assuming we have bottomed at 275, with some pretty monumental support visible there. I suspect we have a few weeks at most before surging higher on high volume, leaving bears scratching their heads and remembering that little heard word on here, fundamentals.

I wouldn't be surprised if i wake up and its over 400 tomorrow morning Wink
2746  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price prediction, will it hit >$1k in less than half a year? on: October 16, 2014, 06:31:12 PM
It could go up to 1k in half a year and back down to 200 the next month and back up to 500 in 2 weeks then down to 10 dollars the next month.... btc price is too unpredictable... if anyone would have been able to predict the first 1kUSD/BTC mark we all on this forum would be rich or atleast the ones who knkow about btc pre $50USD/btc

right?  It seems 99% of people on here are fortune telling experts.  No, if you were you'd be a millionaire and not on this forum

Ironically anyone who was on this forum saying the same thing a year ago probably is.

I respect and I like to have bears here. But trolls doesn´t apport nothing but crispation and noise. Please moderators, Blitz consider ban lambchop.

And the rest os us: PLEASE DONT QUOTE THE TROLLS. Thanks.

You mean don't quote the bear trolls, right? Because I see the bull-trolls aka marketers getting quoted all the time, and nobody seems to have a problem with that.

And who are they?

They're not hard to spot: Take a look at anyone who does nothing but spam trains and/or talk down to bears whenever there's a $10 increase in price. Some of them switch back and forth audaciously depending on whether they're in or out.

EDIT: If you're asking only because you're curious about whether I was referring to you, the answer is no, not really.

I wasn't but thanks Smiley
2748  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we all seeing the same chart??? on: October 16, 2014, 04:54:34 PM
I just want to see what the perma bulls keep seeing as strength in the bitcoin chart...  Huh

That's the point.  We don't see strengths in bitcoin charts.

We are perma bulls because we are paying attention to the news.  The infrastructure.  The startups.  The mass quantities of smart people building businesses, services, and "innovating at the edges".  There is absolutely no sign of slowing down in this regard, and charts mean a pile of shit compared to the aforementioned elements.  Unless you're talking about short term permabulls, permabulls are the only smart people on this entire discussion forum.  Because their faith is in whats actually *happening* out there.

When I begin to see all of that slow down, or stop, that's when I turn from a bull to a bear, and get the heck out of Dodge.

-B-

Fools drawing a line on a chart and selling bitcoin in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 made a poor choice. I suspect the next twelve months will catch most people on this forum by surprise.
2749  Economy / Speculation / Re: These instant changes in price... on: October 16, 2014, 04:35:12 PM
Oh look at that, they are reading this topic. They started using 3k batches now...

As long as it isn't a central bank who cares?

I do. I'm sure many others do as well, or we wouldn't be seeing all these threads mentioning the bearwhale.

Fair enough. There isn't much you can do about a large speculator acting this way. If they are selling out then it will pass in time. If it a good actor attempting to accumulate coins then the price will rise in time. If it is a central bank acting maliciously then things will be interesting going forward.
2750  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wouldn't it be nice... (the LazyWhale algorithm) on: October 16, 2014, 04:32:24 PM
Excellent thread. Well done. Like others, I shall follow it with interest as you post your first buy signal Smiley

How is constantly losing money interesting?  I mean, it's sorta fun to watch from the sidelines, but actually doing it?
Nevermind, not for me to judge, carry on.

Well that made no sense. What exactly are you on about?

I think it's trying to communicate with you Grin

Quite.

Off to bed. Probably be over 400 when I wake, eh Shroomskit? Nn porkchop

G'mornin' inca.

And thats why I don't trade but instead do something else far more interesting for a living Smiley
2756  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 16, 2014, 03:04:44 PM
Inca, this is bullish right? We're about to go up?

I don't day trade something like bitcoin. An excellent way to think you can predict the market and lose money when you belatedly realise you can't.

It is a price correction, not a particularly surprising one after several big up % days in a row. Looks like someone either took profit badly by selling 3k coins or decided to keep the MACD negative another few days. Either way the short term trends to not particularly bother me. Wake me up if we drop below 300.

You endlessly drone on about dumpers preventing further price rises. But in fact it is simply traders selling into strength. They do this expecting further opportunities to buy in, usually lower, because they do not expect higher prices in the short term. As market sentiment alters from bear to bull, coupled with shorts getting killed a few times, this will happen less as the price rises. Or bitcoin is going nowhere before the next halving.

If i had to predict future price movements they would be of stair step rises over the next few months as the memories of the bear market (and last bubble) fade. I think this because technicals can be manipulated and exaggerated easily for a time, but fundamentals cannot. As new users adopt the currency, transactions rise and new on ramps and investment modalities such as the ETF's come online bitcoin could look very undervalued in a hurry.

So yes, I remain intermediate and long term bullish. Short term who cares?

LOOK OUT BELOW! How low will it go?! Nobody knowsss

Oh god yes. It's down over 400 points right now! Get out while you can bag holders! Wall street is collapsing!

Thanks for the warning man. I'm dumping my shitty fiat coupons for bitcoin. Real money!

>Wall st. down 2%--OMG collapsing!
>BTC down 2%--sideways trading, nothin' to see.

Yeah if only BTC had printing presses to make money to prop up the market.....

Lol, Gox did fine without them.  What makes you think the rest of the exchanges aren't doing same? Cheesy

What makes you think they are?

Nothing, beyond the fact that they could, and would make some $ by doing it.  But maybe I'm just too cynical--they're probably not in this to make money.

They don't need to fractional reserve to make money. They actually just need to not fuck up like MK and it is a never ending cash cow. Add to that they know the orderbooks and fiat on exchange. That information is highly valuable. There are probably a few trading accounts on each exchange which never lose.

The Winklevii ETF will be a game changer, but I'm guessing the market will go 10-20X higher pre-announcement.

I giggle everytime I hear this line... This ETF is NOT coming out lmfao! Everyone on wall st already knows this man, you guys need to catch up!

Where is your evidence? Oh wait..
