2741  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An alternative to gambling with money. on: July 02, 2022, 09:21:38 PM
The most popular suggestion you can get when trying to quit gambling especially when you are continuously loosing money is mostly that you should just stop gambling itself. This sounds like an almost impossible task for many who are already hooked to it and just hearing that alone is discouraging. A better suggestion and an alternative to quitting gambling completely is to start betting with fake money gambling apps. With FAKE MONEY GAMBLING APPS, you can continue gambling on the app even on live games, but with fake money. So in reality you can maintain the experience you derive from gambling and not loose any money except the fake one in the process.

Although the original idea behind the creation of such apps was to provide a platform were individuals can practice their betting skills without loosing money before actually gambling with real money, i still find it useful to those trying to quit because they keep loosing money.

In Order of user rating and for suggestion sake, some of the best fake money gambling apps according to user experience, core functionality & innovative solution are (please note that some of these apps still offer real gambling services, and if you really want to stop loosing money, you should avoid)

What is your opinion on Fake money gambling apps, do you recognize the potential I think they have to assist in reducing the number of gamblers who loose real money?
Grin smiles... In as much as it's an act of gambling then it's still gambling only that this one comes with a different perspective of the  use of fake money. Using such app for someone that wants to quit gambling is like pouring fuel into fire in a mile way cause the gambler will end up learning new patterns to engage in into the real money gambling. So it's not an alternative for me.
2742  Economy / Reputation / Re: Announce your rank up, merit or any achievements that makes you feel great! on: June 29, 2022, 06:06:05 PM
Hello everyone, because the number 777 merit looks like a sacred number that lasted a few days since I got it, so today I want to save it here. I can tell you that I will still have to wait a few months to rank up to become a Hero Member even though I currently fulfill one of the [500 merit] requirements to be at that rank. I just had to wait for the activity count to be around 480 for me to rank as a Hero Member, this meant I would have to spend at least a few more months in the Sr. Member rank. But it's not a big problem for me, but I just want to let you know that I have succeeded in proving that the merit system never depends on your rank. You can get more merit even if your ranking is still low because it all depends on your posting habits. The better the quality of your posts, the better your chances of getting merit.

I'm not saying this is my greatest achievement, but it is good evidence to let you know that the merit system has been useful to most people who care about the quality of their posts. So do your best so you get a good experience too.

Many just focused on merit achievements mostly forgetting that  a good quality post is a means to an that they seek for. Congratulations on your 777 merits, for that number is actually a number to reverence.
2743  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Creating a prepared mindset before the reality emerged. on: June 26, 2022, 03:23:16 PM
It's a good and interesting story, but I am finding it very hard to believe how possible it is for somebody to buy a new car, drive the car to the office himself with joy, and in the closing hour, he forgot he came with a car, am sorry to say but it's only motivational speaker that tell this kind of story.
It does seem like something you would expect to see in a movie or TV show. Think of it like this. He has gotten used to riding the train and using public transportation so much that it's become instinctive. He forgot about his car because public transportation is all he ever used for years.

I remember an episode of OFAH when Rodney got married and moved in with his wife (of course). After his first day at work, he returned to his brother's flat like it's the most normal thing. So Dell tells him: "can I tell you something Rodney? You don't live here anymore! That always makes me laugh.

However, you can always return to the parking lot and get your car. You can never retrieve your coins if you misplace your seed or don't write it down.
You seamlessly got the message conveyed, with much light thrown on it in with a different scenario.
2744  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to avoid huge cryptocurrency disappointment on: June 26, 2022, 02:45:53 PM
Cryptocurrency trading just like every other businesses just prepare your mind for any circumstance that may be. In all my involvement in cryto trading I don't joke with number 1 and 2 listed and am sure that what any wise business man shouldn't overlook.
2745  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto scam increasing on social media on: June 26, 2022, 01:49:36 PM
New analysis finds consumers reported losing more than $1 billion in #cryptocurrency to scams since 2021
Social media blamed for $1B in crypto scam losses in 2021

What has the government doing so far to regulate social media like they are regulating exchanges, despite that people that are using social media like Facebook, Instagram and many others do not have privacy, scammers and illicit actors still make use of the same social media to scam people. From just 2021 to 2022 first quarter, people have been scammed over $1 billion on social media. Federal Trade Commission (FCT) found that Instagram (32%), Facebook (26%), Whatsapp (9%), and Telegram (7%) were the top platforms used for crypto scams. Twitter, the social media platform widely adopted by the crypto-community, was not mentioned despite being littered with spam and scam bots touting fake crypto-giveaways.

The funniest to me is that scam is not new on social media, but it is becoming commoner and the scam on social media regard crypto is increasing, definitely all other scam are increasing on social media. When social media is not a place of privacy, why not require for ID documents for better KYC procedure than focusing most only on exchanges

Social media is an open space for many shits and I don't see it as a platform I I can place my attention on for crypto interaction or business discussion with just anyone or page. The rate of scams right now no social media platform can totally filter.
2746  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Casinos Vs Ethereum Casinos on: June 26, 2022, 11:42:01 AM
For my casino gambling I do use anyone of them be it Bitcoin or ethereum, only that I frequently use Bitcoin  to Ethereum, and most of the casino sites do accept both currencies, this days you can hardly find any casino accepting just Bitcoin alone. So it just left for the customers based on preference to choose which to frequently or seldom use.
2747  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The fear of Negative trust and Ban on: June 26, 2022, 11:15:02 AM
It's an undeniable fact that, the fear of Negative trust and being ban from the forum is the reason most newbies with myself inclusive, do not contribute much to the growth of the forum.
There's a saying that goes " if you can't contribute to bringing a solution to the problem of a person then, try not to add to it", so it's better if at the moment you don't have any meaningful contributions to give to the forum just hold on until you do have one, and not to try engaging yourself into activities that could hamper and put a threat to your repute.

Lastly, let's give ourselves to reading and we will know more so as to have better contributions to bring in whenever.
2748  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Education as the bed rock of a country on: June 26, 2022, 10:59:20 AM
These days we have many interest filled politicians in public office positions than we have leadership inclined personalities.
When people that have love for the common good of the society with deep understanding of the role education plays in a society in all spheres gets to the helms of authority education will be a top priority not to play politics with.

It's so unfortunate some African countries/leaders today still overlooked the essence of investing into education compared to as they do with their political ambitions and interests. A country like Nigeria is not left out in this quagmire and this has made many giving up gradually on academical learning and degrees obtained in the country undermined and belittled both in and outside the country.

2751  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Taking Loans - Is it ideal? on: June 25, 2022, 11:47:33 PM
I have a friend who are keep on asking me if taking loans just to buy Bitcoin is ideal thing to do so?
I understand the market is very cheap right now, and because of this I just want to share some tips especially to those newbies who are also considering the same thing.

Before you apply for a loan make sure to consider this first.

    1. How much money you can afford to take the risk?
    2. Is the profit enough to repay the loan, is there any guarantee?
    3. Can you still repay the loan even if the market continues to drop?
    4. Is your collateral enough to cover your loans?
    5. Are you confident about your investment decision?

These are the common questions for myself before taking loan for the purpose of reinvesting, I know this can be a good opportunity to increase your holdings but if you don't have the funds yet, better not to rush yourself and just wait for the right moment. Taking loans is good if you are responsible enough to repay it, but if you think you can't better not to apply at all.

Taking a loan to feed an investment is really not a bad idea only if you're taking such loan for the right investment and with a higher certainty of a return investment based on what, where and how you're investing.

I remember a relative of mine that took a loan to invest it in his line if business, today he's a Big Short in the sense that his area of investment paid off, but when it comes to cryto trading, involving loan in it to be used as the means of investment I will advise everyone should avoid.
The market is not your mate!
2752  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best time to buy or wait a little bit ? on: June 24, 2022, 04:31:09 PM
With the market price right now it's an opportunity for those that have much cash to invest to take a quick advantage of it, alt coins wouldn't be bad to go for at this time,, especially looking at a long term investment as we all know that at some point the price will pump just only a matter of time though.
2753  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [CHARTS] Monthly Overview Of The Unofficial Nigeria Local Board📈 on: June 24, 2022, 07:48:51 AM
Recently I observed the unofficial Nigeria local board has always retained it's position as number one in the other languages board followed by Pakistan. And this feat could be narrowed  to the height of unwavering activeness of the nigerian forum users then, imagine given an official board of theirs it would really be a big plus to the forum for sure.

@Igehhh, I applaud your efforts in the articulation of this charts so far.
    2754  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Transaction malleability on: June 22, 2022, 01:34:54 PM
From my understanding of transactions, there are usually signed by the owners. But in this case,  the signature does not cover all the data in a transaction that is hashed to create a hash. Thus, while rare, it is possible for a node on the network to change a transaction the sender sends in such a way that the hash is rendered invalid. I got a bit confused and thought to ask: in such a situation, will the transaction be reversed back to the owner of the wallet, or since it has been rendered invalid, will the coins be lost? https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-3-319-11212-1_18
To the best of my knowledge transaction on BTC is irreversible especially to a wrong address. So one got to be very careful while doing any transact.
2755  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Special reasons for bitcoin purchase on: June 19, 2022, 03:53:44 PM
The reasons why so many persons invest in bitcoin is the depreciation, centralization and the appreciative aspect  in bitcoin. This stages are very important to traders or exchangers. it’s a medium of efficient, crypto currency has been a life change in recent years, it has been a great value  for storing assets, commodities and currency. These qualities attract to those who believe In future bitcoin. Crypto help those who have issues with hyperinflation..
Bitcoin in recent times have changed some persons mode of storing money, they buy Bitcoin with an amount of money they feel if placed in the hands of traditional banking it might create certain questions, so they avoid such by buy Bitcoin which is non traceable and uncontrollable due to it decentralized nature.
2756  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ranking up is possible! 2900 Merits earned in less than 12 months! My 11 Hints! on: June 19, 2022, 01:19:18 PM
This is very much relieving for me reading. Cause for users like me that had/have a poor background about cryptocurrency trading even before I was first introduced to this forum, contributing in threads that discuss about Bitcoin was and still somehow very alien to me that I feel lost and incompatible to Bitcoin related threads atimes and this has made almost all my post focusing only on societal related matters.

I recently started giving myself to reading articles that talks about Cryptocurrency and its been very helpful, so I believe with time I can greatly contribute like everyone here in the forum too both with threads and comments.

2757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Deriving pleasure in gambling even while losing. on: June 19, 2022, 10:47:58 AM
Almost everyone that engaged in gambling did so with the sole aim to making money through winnings from their bets, and I don't think there's any reasonable gambler that goes on comfortably smiling in the process of losing his money to gambling no matter how little in amount the stake might be.

For I often wonder how gambling will look like for a gambler going on for days or weeks be it with online casinos or betshops without winning even a stake but then I discovered a certain guy around my neighborhood that I met within one of the betshops around my street that enjoys and derives pleasure in just playing gambling even without winning any stake. Like this guy has no big deal with losing his bets as long he keeps on playing and it baffles me if it's a psychological issue or what?

For it baffles me that someone could decide to engage into gambling only because of the pleasure he claims to derive while engaging in it as opposed to making profit or winning money which is every gamblers most concern.
Just yo raise some discussion, could this be a psychological related issues or is just a normal thing?
Also, have you come across such persons and what was your expression?
2758  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If you do this, stop it! on: June 15, 2022, 01:53:58 PM
The OP writes that his friend helped him with information about cryptocurrency. But I think this friend regrets it a lot. Instead of thanking him, the OP now accuses him of not paying attention to his messages.

OP, you probably need to understand that the world doesn't revolve around you.
The world obviously don't revolve around anyone, that I know and I appreciate your reminder of that.
Also, my dear friend and I are very close and getting along very well even till this moment. Am not the complainant actually cause I know what is involved as far as his source of income is concerned.

It's rather other persons such as his other friends and colleagues that have no knowledge of what is in involved by him being online always, these are the persons rather complaining. Of which to some I have tried to explain things to be wouldn't understand cause they are not into cryto or rather they don't posses the knowledge about it.

Like one of the user said in one of the comments on this my thread; that my friend may be ignoring their messages so not to be distracted, as most times social media chats could derail a persons attention with frivolous discussions which was not what the person Intended to before  going online.
2759  Other / Beginners & Help / If you do this, stop it! on: June 14, 2022, 12:02:42 AM
I have a colleague that's into cryptocurrency trading before I got to know about it, much of what I know about crypto I owe to him as he devote almost 70% of each day in cryptocurrency as it is a major source of income for him. Always online be it midnight or daytime you hardly see him offline.
which makes me wonder at times does this guy ever sleep at night!

Now him being online busy with his cryto business, this replicate into his social media accounts such as Whatsapp, Twitter, Facebook that he's online as far as his data is on. Unknowingly to his friends, other colleagues and even relatives they go on dropping messages upon messages for him without getting back any response from him even at different interval, cause his focus all through the period online is in cryto with the aim of trying to make a living out but these other persons not having a clue feels he is deliberately ignoring their messages. Although he seldom reply to a very limited few important ones, to the extent I know though.

Now, we all know that feeling when you keep on dropping messages severally to a person whose status indicates online but no response. Very awful right!

This days people chase online money so much that they forget the place of giving or spending time with friends and family. And that's a very bad habit. Yes it's good to chase money but keeping a thin line by creating time for friends and family and business should be a thing of concern to everyone.

Else you might wake up one day only to discover you  have lost the company of all goods persons around you. Cause in this life people matters!

I'll love to read through others experience to add to my own personal growth in this business. So pls I look forward to see more encouraging live experienced and thoughtful comments.
Thank to OP for such thread.
