2741  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are people giving up on Bitcoin too quickly? on: October 07, 2020, 07:47:12 PM
People who give up on Bitcoin are usually those who have HODL Bitcoin for a long time, without being able to get the desired profit.
To my knowledge most people view Bitcoin as just a digital asset, so they will sell their Bitcoin if they have managed to get a profit.
Then some people don't believe Bitcoin will become a currency like it's fiat, because indeed some countries prohibit Bitcoin as payment.
Moreover, the number of merchants who accept Bitcoin as payment is still very small in number, that's why make many people have
given up on Bitcoin to become actual currency.

If they don't get their "desired" profit, then they haven't been holding it for long enough. I though those who were doing holding for short term and made a loss were the once that gave up on bitcoin and started to call it scam/ponzie scheme.
Well some do see it as a digit assets, but there are people that see it as a "currency" and use it for their daily transaction. The number of "physical" merchants that accept bitcoin is low, but there are tons of online shops that accepts bitcoin as a form of payment!
2742  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why only paypal and ebay? Why top tech companies do not open such platforms? on: October 07, 2020, 07:35:16 PM
You really think those people never thought about it? Those top tech companies have "top" level advisers and they probably know it is not a good idea to open such platforms. They know its not worth opening anything like paypal (though I am not sure if you are aware that there ARE platforms like paypal. You didn't look for them or they aren't available in your country). And paypal have their own reasons to freeze account. Its not like they chose to freeze your account, its more like the "had" to freeze your account for their "security" reasons. I am sure if they don't follow all those security measures, they will be in big trouble. And I can assure you, those "top tech" companies aren't going to be any different than paypal when it comes to freezing account.
2743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people avoid bitcoin? on: October 07, 2020, 07:19:21 PM
I do notice that some people naturally don’t allow bitcoin in any of their daily transactions even when it faster and easier, they still don’t prefer using it, I have noticed this a lot, Some classes of human,Sometimes when they are to receive money from another country like international transfer sometimes it takes 2 3 days to arrive,They will advise them to use bitcoin and they still don’t accept it even it faster and easier. Now how come we make bitcoin come to people.
I guess they think it is too complicated. They find bank transactions easier for them to understand (even if it is slower than bitcoin) and they are used to banks. They don't want to try something new. I know people that wouldn't risk a single cent when it comes to "receiving" money. Or I guess the person that will receive the coins does not want to go through extra paper works and those crappy taxes when it comes to holding bitcoin. Not to mention, the way sometimes the media portrays bitcoin sometimes, I wouldn't be surprised to see people reluctant to use bitcoin.
2744  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone inside this paid trading group ? on: October 07, 2020, 05:06:44 AM
Don't join those "paid trading group". They are just some shitty groups that takes money from newbies giving them the hope of making money from trading. Those are just some shitty pumping and dumping groups. There is a high chance that you will make loss. Only those lucky enough makes the profit. I have heard there are groups with hundreds of people where the owners of the group start pumping a shit coin and then encourages others to invest in it. Once they start investing, the owners dumps the coin talking all the profit and while others make the loss.
Also there is a high chance they will provide you with information that are available publicly.
2745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin and taxes buying goods and items with btc tax free on: October 07, 2020, 04:42:37 AM
so how about taxes you have to pay from btc ?

and is buying goods and items with btc is to way to cash out your crypto tax free?

It depends on how your government sees bitcoin (as an asset or a currency) and your intention. You will have to pay either income tax or capital gains, but you WILL have to pay the taxes. If your transactions are large, a visit from the "taxman" is inevitable.
Like, I said, depends on your country. If you are buying goods and items with BTC, highly likely you will still me taxed. The country might see your purchase as if you converted your bitcoin to cash and then bought your items. Though this won't be a huge issue for smaller amounts, but if you do it for larger amount of regular interval, the government might think you are trying to evade taxes.
2746  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do they use our computers for CPU mining? on: October 06, 2020, 06:28:17 PM
Quote
When I start an autobet in different websites

You're running an auto-bet program and you're wondering why your PC is running hot?  Are you sure you know what you are doing?
This is not normal. I don't think running auto-bet should cause the temperature of your computer to rise. How heavy are those bots that causes high CPU usage that results in high temperature? It is probably the browser or it is the casino that has a badly optimized auto-betting feature causing high CPU usage.
So far never heard anyone complaining about a problem like this. So highly likely this is just an isolated incident.
2747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: airdrop bounty project idea website question on: October 06, 2020, 04:44:56 PM
It is not a new idea. There are already tons of such websites which allows users to find about information about on going and upcoming airdrops with full details. But, why would you want to do this? Why would you want to promote shit projects and throw people into traps? You might say that you are not forcing them to join, but that still doesn't justify the fact that you will be promoting scams in exchange of money from the developers. Please don't do that. You will just encourage scammers and discourage naive people. In stead focus on making a website which is educational and help promote bitcoin and other well known crypto currencies.
2748  Economy / Economics / Re: I lost my job, how about you guys? on: October 06, 2020, 04:30:20 PM
Everything is unstable as long as there is a pandemic. Businesses halted operations due to supply problems. Supplies for a specific business takes too long to arrive beacuse of the tight security and of course shipment crews needs to be quarantined everytime they cross borders. That is why small businesses are affected and we workers as well. I know the only thing that will help me survive this crisis is cryptocurrency that is why I am active here again because fiat had failed me.

What is your story with fiat and cryptocurrency during pandemic? This is again the battle of centralized and decentralized assets and activity in the middle of a crisis. In your own experiences and opinion which of the two will win?
That is quite unfortunate that you have lost your job. You are not to be blamed in this case. Don't just give up your hope. Keep looking for a job. I am sure you will find it. Or try selling your skills online. I have seen many people moving to freelance after they have lost their jobs. I have also seen people starting their own small business to help themselves (there are lot of new business booming and people are taking advantage of it!)/
I am bit curious on how bitcoin is going to help you after fiat failed you. Are you going to be holding bitcoin to make profit. Not a good idea.
2749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yeees it's happening on: October 06, 2020, 04:10:04 AM
Bitcoin ATMs aren't something new (at least for me). Its like I see them almost everywhere (there are a lot of Bitcoin ATMs around me. Went to a different area once, would see them less often), but don't see much people using them. But yeah, good thing they are installing more. In case you didn't know, you should try using coinatmradar.com. You can see a list of bitcoinATMs around you! Quite helpful it is. Some ATMs even allow you to make transaction before going to the ATM so that you don't have to wait for confirmation in front of the ATM.
it is cool to see it happening in more places but "adoption" is not happening when they "sell" bitcoin or provide ATMs. the adoption happens when those stores (like this convenience store) started accepting bitcoin as payment when you buy stuff from them. that would be something to be happy about if you ask me.
True, but at least people are noticing and gets to buy bitcoin easily (but that comes with a premium price).
2750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question: Is there any websites where I can gamble crypto under 18? on: October 06, 2020, 03:47:05 AM
There are gambling site who didn’t request for any KYC only an email verified account. I can name a few but I don’t want to encourage you to gamble and the very young age, that’s too risky and beside its illegal and you might face consequences if they caught you. You’d better learn how to trade or invest in crypto market and when you reach the legal age, you can gamble all you want.
They won't ask for KYC but if you look at their terms of service in their casino website, you will see that they do not provide services to users that are under the legal age of gambling. So, if you are under 18 (or based on your jurisdiction, not of legal age to gamble) you will be breaking their terms of condition. The casino won't care as long as you aren't making any big wins. But, once you start winning big and withdraw, there is a chance they might want to ask for information and say things like they are "suspicious" that you are breaking their terms of service. They will start denying your withdrawal and once you can't proof that you are over 18, say goodbye to your money!
2751  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling with convenience using Bitcoin during a pandemic on: October 03, 2020, 04:09:25 PM
-snip-
yeah, they are inactive here on the ann thread. But I saw the earnbet official account is last active on 26 september 2020. But don't know why they are not active on the ann thread. Better to check: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5103576.0
Again inactive ann thread that does not mean actually they have not much player. they are now much active on other socail media for example, twitter. And people are playing on the site you can see if you visit there.
Looks like they are active in this forum and monitoring it. Probably hiring people to post about the casino like this guy. His last few posts were explicitly promoting this casino (kinda was also trying not to make it obvious that he was getting paid for it) and I have seen more random people trying to promote earnbet in the exact same way. Either its them creating multiple accounts or they are hiring people from somewhere.
Though I have a question. If this is a "decentralized" casino, how come there is an "owner" of this casino?
2752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Safest cryptocurrency wallets on: October 03, 2020, 03:33:04 PM
Whichever wallet you use, make sure only you have access to the private keys and no one else.

Edit: You may want to look at this thread over here created by lauda https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1631151.0
Might help you a choose a wallet since it explains which wallet you might want to use according to your needs. Don't skip the "best practices" section!

There are a lot of nice ones. I prefer exodus, wasabi and wallet from my signature, hah

Based on his trust feedback, I will be extra cautious trying any wallet not user any wallet suggested by this user. This user literally tried to promote a virus infected wallet while impersonating someone else.
2753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miami Dade to open Casinos and Restaurants for the third time. on: October 03, 2020, 03:07:08 PM
Didn't even know they were ordered to close down. So have I have seen people going back to do their regular activities like nothing really is going on. At least over here, all the lockdowns has been lifted and some areas just have to follow strict rules. Though we have been hearing every now and then that "strict" lockdowns will be imposed soon if everyone keeps on moving freely without maintaining social distancing and other rules. But so far people keeps on breaking those rules and no one cares.
-snip-
Lastly I hope that cases don’t rise again because the last time they had opened there was a huge surge in cases, and they had to lock down after a while.
The place is still going to spread the virus and we will still see a sudden surge in that area. After all, nothing has changed since they aren't taking any extra precaution.
2754  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Telegram is trash on: October 03, 2020, 07:29:58 AM
I feel Telegram is the same as other social media, nothing is different...
Telegram has been ever banned in several countries because the issue is used as a medium for terrorist conversations, that had made Telegram shares fall. Telegram is great for conversations that are very private if used for positive things, but we cannot prevent scammers from taking advantage of the security and popularity of telegram to spread their groups. the point is to take care of yourself and don't be too trusting with people you don't know there.
True, it is like most of the other social media platform, but the amount of scams that go through over there is unbelievable. They form groups. Lure naïve and stupid people to their groups and then scam them all. The groups are private and filled with shills, so no one notices anything until they get scammed. But it is true that scam takes place almost everywhere on the interenet. All we have to do is be careful. But it really staggers me how some people even "pay a premium price" to join those groups and then get scammed in the end.
2755  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trump gets Covid and we Crash? on: October 03, 2020, 07:23:53 AM
Like holy hell what a ride the past day has been with the bitmex stuff and now the POTUS getting covid with the first lady (they say) Everything is taking a dump.

Buy the dips though.
The price has nothing to do with trump or the first lady. I doubt even if anyone of them dies, the price is going to crash. Like, why would that even happen? And is that "everything" you are taking about that is taking a dump? I price of bitcoin just fell by few dollars and you are saying that is a dump? Lol, that is totally normal. Or are you just trying to spread fear among holders and make them panic sell, idk for your own gain maybe?
And trump will be out of the hospital in no time.
2756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there any truly safe bets in sports betting? on: October 02, 2020, 07:47:50 PM
Through my experience I've found out that small odds does not mean a safer event. Sometimes it is quite the opposite. You end up taking more risk for a measly reward. For example, on a $100 bet on a 1.15 odds event you would only get $15, but the real odd should have been around 1.50 (there are techniques out there to determine the fair odds). So you are actually betting on a high-risk event for a measly reward.
Huh, what do you mean the real odds should have been around 1.50? I don't place bets on sport and I am no expert, but as far as I know the casino at first sets a line based on each teams previous performance. And then people start placing bets and the odds keep on fluctuating to keep the bet amount the same of both teams. If you bet on a winning team at almost the end, you will receive an extremely small amount of profit (almost negligible).
And there are no "safe bets" in any kind of gambling activities. If anyone claims they know a strategy or a place where you can gamble risk free, they are lying and trying to scam you.
2757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another Elon Musk fake giveaway. on: October 02, 2020, 07:26:45 PM
It is nothing new. I have seen those giveaways in facebook, twitter, youtube and even in random articles that somehow got to the top! I guess most people are well aware of the fake giveaway after the recent twitter hack. But still there are people who fall for those. Those dimwits think elon is going to give them free money for no reason lol.  Now, if they still fall for scams like those, I guess they do deserve to get scammed for being this stupid and greedy. At least they will learn a lesson and will always think twice before seeing such offers.
2758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HOW CAN ONE KNOW A FAKE AIRDROP? on: October 02, 2020, 06:42:38 PM
Stop trying to figure out how to spot a fake airdrop. Just ignore all of them. Since around 99.9% of those air drops are fake, it is not worth wasting your time collecting those shit coins and keeping track of each and every of those coins. You would be better off doing something more productive. And you need to be really lucky to get a good airdrop. Remember, airdrops are given for free and everyone receives them. So, there is always a high chance it won't be of any value other than few dollars. And like I said, you need to be extremely lucky to earn something significant from an airdrop. And its more like you have better odds placing bets on dices and winning something.
2759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting small amounts on a lot of matches or big amount on couple of matches? on: October 02, 2020, 07:13:41 AM
Or just place a bet in one single match where you have a good confidence about the team? Placing a lot of small bets across different games (unless you are quite confident that they will win. But if that is the case, why would you bother placing small bets?) might just end up giving you  a very little profit.
Based on your post, i guess you just randomly place bets? Or else, I see no reason for you to keep on losing every bet.
2760  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: French police arrest terror financing ring that used Bitcoin coupons on: October 02, 2020, 06:55:46 AM
Its good to know that criminals cannot longer operate their work under the anonymity of Bitcoin, surely this is enough proof for regulators that Bitcoin can be regulated and not full proof for money laundering, and criminal activities thanks to the Blockchain, you can look up any public addresses that process transactions, and vast technology to trace that specific user.
Look up public address and trace that user? Yes, you can use the blockchain to to look up a transaction, but you won't be able to trace that user with just the public address since bitcoin is pseudonymous. If someone can somehow associate the address with a person (like maybe he completed a kyc form on one of his exchange account and used this address to withdraw), it is then he can be identified.

I'm not saying that the media is wrong but if you look at the facts as presented you'd at least wonder how 10-15 euros going to support such a large network. Even if they do it everyday, surely that's not enough  Huh
Its 10 to 150 EURO. Not 15 EUR. And they are like 29 of the people buying it everyday. So yeah, they do rack up enough funds within a month.
