2741  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Get your coins out of Coinify ASAP on: July 10, 2022, 05:41:38 PM
@BitcoinGirl.Club please don't take this as a bad criticism. It's the other way aroun, it's supposed to be a constructive criticism! Smiley
It's fine.
Honestly speaking, I do not understand politics, the political definition of democracy. For me democracy means power to be in peoples hand, not to a group of people but everyone. Bitcoin serves this for me. Running a full node is supporting the full bitcoin network. As long as your note is alive and safe, bitcoin exists.

last week in a news CZ said about 50 exchanges are in talks with him for acquisition,  who knows if a major exchange is not among aside Celsius, Three Arrows capital and Voyager that are already in trouble. this time is the time you should get your cryptos off exchanges if you haven't, if you're a day trader ensure you withdraw your funds after trading.
For many reason some people or actually people who are not concerned about security, keep their coins in exchanges. You need the coins on exchange to place the limit buy or limit sale, sometimes it takes long time. We need more decentralized exchanges. Until we have large adoption for the decentralized exchanges we will need to depend on the centralized exchanges unfortunately.
2742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin could become the gold of 21th century? on: July 10, 2022, 05:03:01 PM
Isn't it already gold or fair to say more valuable than gold?
Being in the crypto space Bitcoin is more valuable for me than gold. I even sold gold to buy bitcoin at once.

That being said, Bitcoin is way less stable than gold, and I think gold is often associated with certain safety and stability that Bitcoin does not possess.
When bitcoin will have mass adoption and will be used as an established form of payment system worldwide then we will have the stability. It will still take a long time but some day we hope we will have it. We are still in diaper. Let us learn to walk, then eat food, learn wearing cloths and grow up.
2743  Other / Meta / Re: Hey, is there a way to delete my account? on: July 10, 2022, 04:13:52 PM
I am sure I missed the suggestion from others. You have only 155 posts.
Delete all replies, one by one.
Remove text from the topics you created, one by one.
Leave the account for few months. The IP and other data will be removed automatically since there is a certain period of time and after that all data will be wiped out from the database.

Logging in hasn't been too difficult either, and I just found a link that provides a captcha bypass.  https://bitcointalk.org/captcha_code.php
Logging in with tor without having this captcha bypass URL is impossible for me.
2744  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question for Legendary Members on: July 10, 2022, 04:05:03 PM
This refers to old-era Legendary accounts because back then there was no merit and you could reach that rank even if you were making posts in Off-topic all the time. These people came to make money and eventually became Legendary, but unfortunately they learned almost nothing along the way.
After the merit system introduced, you need to work hard to earn merit. This means users are focused on more good posts and creating a good post take times and improvement of knowledge too. Yes, merit changed the trend of spamming.

A few names come to mind, and I'm sure most of us know these names.
A lot of names. Some are still alive and some are resting in peace. Hal is at the top of my list. I never had a list but if I do then maybe I will have over 10 names I can easily put into that list.

On the contrary, I'm still a idiot, and routinely get things wrong. Although, that's part of the learning process. Time certainly isn't indicative of knowledge, I could've been here for 10 years, and only participated in the gambling section, whereas I'd be limiting my exposure to anything that would teach me more about Bitcoin.
I also feel idiot when I read users on Development & Technical Discussion, mining boards. I am glad that the only thing I learnt well is how to secure my wallet. If I consider the biggest achievement for me then this is at the top.
2745  Other / Meta / Re: Should there be a central warning board (not reputation) on: July 10, 2022, 03:11:37 PM
A lot of this type of post is done in the services announcement/discussion thread (if there is an active one) and on a separate te board like reputation.
A company that might go bankrupt and have difficulties sending people their coins is still a reputation matter.
Reputation board is more to the events involves forum users. With the current setting I think Service Discussion board is appropriate. After seeing OP this was the board that came first in mind.

The problem with the discussion threads / reputation / other sections is that if there have been no problems, nobody looks. This would be a section for a quick glance hopefully BEFORE the shit hit the fan.
Different people have different interest. Users who are frequent in altcoin discussions board or gambling discussions board they will never see what is going on in Meta or Reputation. With the new board it will be the same. We have a dedicated section for forum software, I think I have visited only few times. Any additional board will just add a board, I do not think it will effect at all.

Since this is related to service, it fits very well in service discussions.
2746  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question for Legendary Members on: July 10, 2022, 12:23:08 PM
You'll see on their posts that they have really deep knowledge about how cryptocurrencies and blockchain works.
Not all. Most of them do not even know how to secure their wallets 🤣

Honestly speaking I too sometimes find in confusing situations like I had moments few days ago. Legendary does not mean that you will know all technical details, specifications, setup. You do not become a geek. But you have better idea since you are with the community from long time and you are part of every pieces of history.

A brand-new user who never heard about this forum could have better knowledge then anyone else in the forum. There are many lower rank members who share excellent understanding about bitcoin tech and fundamental.

Legendary is just a rank. Because your rank is Legendary, you are not true Legend. To become a legendary (if that is your goal) you need to know how many posts you need to make to increase your activity, keep posting regularly and figure out how to earn merit. Spending few hours a day or even less than half an hour of a day, you could become a legendary someday.

Becoming a true Legend is something else. There are many round us but not many.
2747  Other / Meta / Re: Where do you post most? on: July 10, 2022, 12:07:55 PM
I'm a Liverpool fan and that makes me prefer to talk about it on the gambling board. I also liked some of the other teams in different leagues but that was just a constructive discussion. Here are the results for me.
It's same for me. I watch only two leagues. Premier league and champions league. In champions league only the matches of Liverpool and in EPL I do watch some other matches when I get time but mostly Liverpool matches. So when I watch a match then I have words to say. There are also other things to share too through out the season but when there are no football I am totally off from Gambling discussions board.

One thing is sure from this discussion. The signature campaigns influence our posting interest. If the signature I am in would have requirements to post in gambling sections then to fill up the target I would make posts there even if I did not have anything valuable to share.
2748  Economy / Reputation / Re: Iranus - Changed hands or not? on: July 10, 2022, 11:57:38 AM
When did I ask The Pharmacist to always support me when I'm in trouble? He's not my lawyer and I don't make any agreement with him. It's up to his decision to post or not post if I do some expose/investigation, because DT members isn't only him and I believe other DT members will look into my expose/investigation and decide if my work is wrong or correct.
Man, tell me you did not take it seriously. It was a joke, I have nothing against you but what I wanted to say that whatever you are doing will comeback to you because you will make a lot of people upset.

The topic was not to decide if people are liking your interest or not. The topic was about Iranus and if he was changed hand. What do you think now after having these two pages of discussions. Were you able to make any conclusion yet? I personally would be pissed if this was me.

Even the deletion posts can be from other users who started a thread, but I don't think many old posters deleted their thread. 1722 posts deletion is very high, other active posters didn't even reach 1722 though they're around this forum since 2013-2014.
Go to Wall Observer and ask for bob.
2749  Economy / Reputation / Re: Some mo-fo is tryin' to hack my ass. on: July 09, 2022, 07:56:36 PM
Are you using something like 2fa or google authenticator to secure your e-mail?
No I am not but I have a very strong password generated using password generator which is saved in a txt file. I have backup of the text file since there are no way for me to remember the password. It's too hard. Not bothered to have 2fa enable. This could be an extra layer of security though.

Subsequently, the account will be returned to the owner or painted red for theft, which makes the account almost useless.
If the original owner can prove it using the bitcoin address he used in past then it does not take long to recover the account. Once it is recovered then everyone removes their red paints. That's what I had when I lost my account and got back after contacting the recovery team.
2750  Other / Meta / Re: Where do you post most? on: July 09, 2022, 05:43:30 PM
Grin Hell no, at least not for the second time. Why did you stop posting in the gambling discussion section by the way, you used to be a frequent poster there right?
When there are no football, EPL of course, I have not much to do in gambling discussion section. There used to be poker tournaments too. These days since there are no football until the season starts, my interest on gambling section is limited.

Honestly speaking mood swigs a lot. Like there was a time 8 out of 10 were in Wall observer but now I don't think I make a single post in WO even in a month.
2751  Other / Meta / Re: Where do you post most? on: July 09, 2022, 05:10:19 PM
MotherF***! No surprise 32% are in Speculation, almost all of them are in Wall Observers.

Considering the last 30 days

I was correct I became a meta, reputation, scam accusation guy. Is anyone suspecting that my account has changed the hand? 😉

Are you missing a DataTimePicker to get the summary of your stats for a specific rang of date?

I post frequently in the beginners and help board too.
The Beginners and Help board does not interest me much. I feel most of them are just trying to be some non-certified course trainers LOL
2752  Other / Meta / Re: Where do you post most? on: July 09, 2022, 04:48:49 PM

2753  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can anyone reccomend solid bitcoin\crypto channels to learn and get latest info? on: July 09, 2022, 02:19:16 PM
You are looking online from random people to learn about bitcoin so that you can invest in crypto? There are many gurus out there. YouTube is full with them. If you listen to them and starts putting your money then you will lose everything sooner. Most of them are just shilling with their affiliate links.

There are not much things to learn about bitcoin. But a good read of the whitepaper will give you answer of a lot of questions you are looking for. This forum is also can help you to learn a lot about the history of bitcoin. And members are always willing to help you too. After all crypto started from bitcoin.

Some boards for good reading

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=4.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=14.0

Not to mentions you will find a lot of geeks on WO as well.

2754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Get your coins out of Coinify ASAP on: July 09, 2022, 02:00:36 PM
It's so sad. I hope their clients get the coins back. Another example of not trusting a service with the coins where you do not have access of your key. Now it's time to wait how many scam accusations or users who are damaged by this event are coming forward. The bear market (safe to say because we had a drop from $68K to $69K) played a vital role for it if I am not wrong.
2755  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is it trust system abuse to increase Trust Score by Dabs? on: July 09, 2022, 11:36:45 AM
I'm not saying we should copy theymos, I'm saying theymos' Trust list might need an update.
This make sense now. I was taking the first explanation and sure it was icopress too.

ads given away to supporters
It's ads given away means one slot from out of 10 ads, not from factoid slots. I would look at it without asking any question if the subjects were in the ad slot sections. I hope you see the deference now.

They probably shouldn't be called factoids for this reason, but I don't think that's a massive problem. Most users know them as adverts rather than factoids I should imagine.
Of course it's not a massive problem or to say any problem at all, it's confusion. Ad slots and Factoid slots needs to be separated just to avoid confusion. Right now the two subjects sound like ads but they are placed as factoid.

Update: Okay I see factoid explained as

ads given away to supporters.
I don't think any argument needed anymore.
2757  Other / Meta / Interesting [not anymore LOL] addition on bitcointalk forum Factoid on: July 09, 2022, 10:37:08 AM
Just few minutes ago I noticed this factoid.

I felt disappointed. It has not stop there, I see a link for a cloud hosting called crowncloud.net with other factoid. It looked odd to me.

NastyFans - The UNOFFICIAL Nasty Mining Fan Club
VPN's and Cloud Backups made simple. crowncloud.net
In my opinion this is not a place to advertise any third party organization. But I understand, as admin theymos have full control over anything he wants.

Maybe this is completely fine but I felt disappointed because I was thinking this place is only about bitcoin facts, quotes from legends about bitcoin and the legendary forum.

PS: No bad intention for NastyFans and the Crowncloud. Also no hurt feeling personally to theymos. It's how I considered the fatoid space should be used.
2758  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Registers as a Digital Assets Service Provider in Spain on: July 09, 2022, 10:16:00 AM
If it came down to choosing between a bunch of exchanges, I would rather go with Binance than similar, government-snitching exchanges (Coinbase), even though they are playing cat-and-mouse with regulators. They are really determined not to go down from AML, so at least I can trust that the exchange will not disappear with the funds I'd put in it.
Sooner or later Binance and others who are a little tolerate about AML, KYC will become Coinbase. All these license from the banks they acquire eventually help them to expand their business but these licenses force them to be strict. Strict means play buy bank's rules. We need decentralized exchanges to take over the market instead of these centralized exchanges. Only then we will enjoy the freedom of bitcoin.

I remember when Binance was criticized for not having an official country where it legally operates.
It was better because they would not need to worry about making the money printers' happy.
2759  Economy / Reputation / Re: Some mo-fo is tryin' to hack my ass. on: July 09, 2022, 09:55:02 AM
No idea, but surely they hate you so much that you are ignored. Tongue
A** holes 🤣
To be honest after the hack I have changed my email address and this email address has been never used to any other service. If any day I receive any such email then it will be confirmed that bitcointalk data has been leaked. So f*** off fuckers. You catch me, I alert the entire forum 😉
2760  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Don't use Bitswap.kr on: July 08, 2022, 09:38:27 PM
Just wanna warn you. I used this service a long time and everything was running fine but then one of my transaction was successfully exchanged but is still shown as "processing". I started a new exchange because the old one was completed for me but the new exchange from BTC to XMR is still not processing since 24-06-2022.
I was not familiar with the TLD until I checked whois database. The site is two years old and I do not think this should be a factor to trust them either. How reputed they are in their targeted audience?

OP, you might wanna create a much better scam accusations with more details. Follow this guide https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=260073.0
I think OP does not want to post his addresses in public domain. XMR users are sometimes paranoid about their privacy or OP would go with better options like reputed crypto exchanges. Interestingly in the partner section for BitSwap, I see Binance which gives me a tick that they use Binance to exchange coins.
