2741  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Akaho - December 3 on: October 18, 2022, 06:26:38 AM
So Casimero is already weight up to super bantamweight since there's no way for him to fight at bantamweight,

And that move up by Casimero might give the possibility for him to meet the expected undisputed bantamweight champion, Naoya Inoue who is likely to move up too on Super Bantamweight/Junior featherweight once he wins against Paul Butler in December.

This fight shouldn't be a problem for Casimero even though he is inactive for 16 months.

I hope though that this time, Casimero's camp should now be able to avoid those recent problems why he was being stripped out of his WBO title.

I have to google to learn what happened:

Quote
Casimero was barred by the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) from fighting after he broke the boxing body's rule of using saunas before a fight to cut down on weight.

So this is a violation I guess but this is probably common practice for boxers who just want to achieve the weight fast. If it were imposed on all, every champ may just be stripped of thier belts. Anyway, seem Inoue and Casimero are meant to meet above after all.
2742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chinese version of Metaverse will be great for meta casinos. on: October 17, 2022, 05:42:17 PM
Why do you think so? In China, even your health passport turns red (and bans you from all travel) if the government suspects you of going to a protest rally or the like. Why do you think that the Chinese version of the metaverse will be freer? With its actions in relation to cryptocurrencies, China has already shown that China and any decentralization and freedom are incompatible. Any Chinese product is censored garbage that can be used against you at any time. I will never use Chinese Metaverses or any other Web 3.0 products.

No government agency bother to look at Meta when Zuck was developing his facebook Meta. No SEC ever tried to look at it but when Zuck develop facebook coin SEC was threatened and issues about privacy were dug where he was summoned to the senate. But With Meta, he seems safe.

I guess it's the same with this Chinese metaverse.

Are you really that out of touch with reality? Have you ever heard about the fact that in China the Internet is very much cut off from the "external" Internet, many social networks such as Facebook are banned, and the Chinese messenger WeChat has direct message censorship? There is no chance that in the presence of such totalitarian censorship and control, such a product will appear in which they do not exist.

Consider TikTok. Once they see it will benefit all, they'd open it to everyone. Consider 5G, it's China's space but they let everyone use it.
These are Chinese products same to the Metaverse they plan. Too bad if we can't access it since Zuck's Meta spends $15B with no companies backing it.

Censorship is everywhere actually. PRC bans apps but the Chinese can use facebook same as Wechat which anyone can use too but don't look for something that Baidu considers to be unnecessary like searching for nude images there. We can find it on google.com.

The government bans BTC mining, but it doesn't stop the Chinese from mining though.
Gambling is banned too. But hey Hongkong is just a few miles away. There's also Singapore and Macau. The PRC knows if you want it, you can find a way.
2743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency should be infused to academic systems on: October 17, 2022, 04:33:49 PM
Now as for the topic: In which field should it fit? Informatics? Economy? Finance? Politics? Society? Philosophy? Bitcoin isn't just a currency.  Wink

Economics I suppose. It's not the most interesting subject for kids but if given the most enthusiastic teacher given then the frame of reference about how BTC becomes a tool in giving people freedom, it will be interesting.

Eshops will introduce them to cryptocurrencies. Kids in the future are going to have access to crypto as it will be used in daily lives in buying stuff, I think it's not such a bad idea to introduce them to BTC.
2744  Economy / Economics / Re: Personal Flood Prevention/Sensitization Project. Any Ideas? on: October 17, 2022, 05:16:07 AM
I guess that's how your place looks like before the dams were built by your country and the neighboring country (Cameroonian). That's the mouth of the river going to the sea? The heavy rainfall was the cause of why they released the water. They wouldn't want to wait for the dam to break otherwise it will be more catastrophic.

Old cities were never planned, it had just been created thru the accumulation of the residents its why cities have no flood control projects.
Diverting the river I think will work because they can release the water from there slowly but it would be a huge project as well that would need billions too.
2745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Usage of Blockchain technology on: October 17, 2022, 01:47:15 AM
For users who have been thinking about the real life usage of blockchain technology, here is an example. The Indian Police have launched a polygon blockchain based complaint registration portal.
Blockchain technology has so many use-cases and we will see more real applications into societies including government-based facilities and management. Data registration is only one of such application for blockchain technology. It can be used in agriculture, commerce, finance, police, health and so on.

With more developments in this technology, we will see a longer list of possible applications from it. India is not the first country that has acceptance from government like this.

Quote

Anyway, I don't know why they decided to choose Polygon. Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain are more likely better options for them than Polygon. Let they get's started, make trial, get experience and they still have lot of time and chance to change to other chains.

Matic is developed by Indian team that's why. And it's faster and the transaction fee is cheaper so it must be worth it to use thier own.

With the population they have, they really need this kind of service which there must have lots of crime committed every minute while government officials also can be corrupt.
2746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you be influenced by your favourite celebrity? on: October 17, 2022, 01:37:21 AM
I have to be a fan of someone who gambles first though. I have not seen anyone whom I avidly follow that are a gambler, or at least publicize that they gamble. Even then though, if they actually did gamble I still wouldn't blindly follow them. I did not follow their activities for gambling tips, if I did I'm pretty sure there'd be a LOT of other better tipsters (though hard to differentiate from scams) out there, I followed them for their artistic creativity, content, whatever you call it. I also hardly doubt we'd be on to the same kind of sports tbf.

Not a fan either but seeing how much he bet for a match. He really can spend that much with the current economy. For some fans, I guess he can influence which I think Stake also saw the possibility that Drake can be an asset. He is a partner but Adensanya as ambassador in the previous months made people notice the casino.

Since Drake's bet lost, I wouldn't see his bet influencing a regular fan.
2747  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation (MiCA) discussions on: October 16, 2022, 03:39:22 PM
I see no reason to pay for purchases with cryptocurrencies, because it attracts too much attention. I send cryptocurrency to my partner, and he deposits my bank account through an ATM. For the bank, such an operation looks like depositing funds into its own account, so the bank has no questions. And any P2P exchanges sooner or later lead to bank account blocking.

Banks these days a preventing their depositors to withdraw even when crypto regulations are yet not carried out. I'm sure it will happen since the crypto regulators have all the power from collecting the data to freezing stablecoin. Regulation is often concentrated on stablecoin.

The FSB (Financial Stability Board) has thier own suggestion on how to regulate crypto and it stated it all here https://www.fsb.org/wp-content/uploads/P111022-4.pdf

2748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chinese version of Metaverse will be great for meta casinos. on: October 16, 2022, 01:13:08 PM
One reason why China and even institutions around the world are not interested in crypto is because of the lack of regulations. The government is taking too long to establish a clear regulation while the government agencies are having a turf war on which of them will regulate crypto.

But the metaverse itself is not something to regulate since this is not a token but a virtual space for all to connect.

Why do you think so? In China, even your health passport turns red (and bans you from all travel) if the government suspects you of going to a protest rally or the like. 2749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MMA Info and Predictions - Bellator, KSW, PFL, ONE... on: October 16, 2022, 01:06:43 PM
^
One Championship Is also a great source for MMA and kickboxing or Muay Thai if you just want a Clash of only Kickboxing but for me, I will be focusing on MMA only and the main event and co-main are both kick-boxing, so like I said if you are a fan of Kickboxing then it is a great pick, I think for the 1st bout Peimian Zhang is quicker than Jonathan Di Bella but Di Bella has a height and Ranged advantage, but for the Co-main event both have great Physique, but Nieky Holzken has quite a list of fights and that is why he has a huge advantage on experience, for me this might be a win for Nieky Holzken,

We also got One On Prime Video 3, which is also on the same date as the One Championship, but the most awaited event in the UFC is the UFC 280 Charles Oliveira VS Islam Makhachev, now we will see if Charles Oliveira has what it takes to beat down Islam Makhachev, and actually, Oliveira is recently have seen training his wrestling, for their fight,

I rarely watch Onefc but sometimes this production comes up with a great match like Demetrious Johnson vs Moraes after that they are back again with fighters not from UFC. Cung Le would have been one of the most famous in this production if he was just younger today. So far Bellator is the only I see an alternative to bet on.

With the fight on same date, Onefc will be left out. This is popular in Asia though.

Metaverse is a Entertainment place by virtual reality . if gamble sites choice Metaverse technology and build a meta casinos then it will give a reality casinos experience and it will attract more gambles specially young people will attract much more on this. On the one hand this is a good thing on the other hand it will further spoil the youth
I have little doubt about that the Chinese meta version because they don't show much interest in crypto related things but  it is true that they have to work on it in the future so I think if their meta version projects run successfully then I think meta casino will play a unique role in the crypto currency world.
Me too. Remember that if metaverse was still an experimental right now. I will not expect a huge thing from metaverse. The metaverse project have only a few users that actively interactiing in the site. im feeling doubt if that's gonna be happening. I meant we must also try to take a look at the metaverse that exist in the crypto. that's why it's still too good to be true to see that happens. Im feeling doubt about that. It may be another gimmick,
China is not preventing the tech development as long as it's not related with the crypto. it's related with gambling combined with the future tech

2751  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Prophecy on: October 16, 2022, 01:48:41 AM
When you grow older like 18 and have seen enough injustice in this cruel world, you know religion is not helping but even helping a country divide itself.

But you know having a Christian life as a child will mold a kid to behave well and abide by laws. It doesn't even matter anymore whether Christ is real or not, the teachings help make a person human. Whether the pastor is saying the truth or not about Bitcoin members, it's his way for his people to keep the faith.
2752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Survey] Do you still play or stop the game? on: October 15, 2022, 01:53:13 PM
Depends on my mood. When I have more time to go for it, I would still play as I did also in the past. I've seen my $5 to $60 from playing slot and dice but it always ends up zero when the time I got to increase my bets. Such a very little capital but made it more than 10x.

Sometimes I stop but got no courage to withdraw and then the next day, I return in hopes to see if I could make it double again.
2753  Economy / Economics / Re: Best Recession And Inflation Protected Assets on: October 15, 2022, 05:21:20 AM

With China getting discounted gas and oil from Russia, they still could maintain the cost of production but can increase the price of finished products from them. They benefit from this conflict and recession so they are profiting. It's the end users from other countries that are only spending higher for the products from China.

Seen some breakdowns and analyses from youtube wannabe gurus and I think they do have good ideas in pointing out which assets are best to have to protect yourself from what will happen in the foreseeable future.  Most of them suggest silver and gold still because BRICS nations preparing for a currency backed by elements.
2754  Economy / Economics / Re: Global recession alarm, safe money on: October 15, 2022, 04:28:21 AM
Coping with recession and economic downtrend will be more difficult for those who reside in cities, than it will be for rural more sparsely populated regions.

Access to greater living and storage space is a commodity which can be leveraged to elevate standard of living in a crisis scenario. Due to this we could see a mass migration from cities to the country. A greater migration to off grid living and organic farms. City regulation cracking down on homeless populations could accelerate the trend. Although to be fair we have also seen regulation imposed against collecting rain water and independent farms. Perhaps the regulatory maluses will be spread evenly across the board. But even if this is the case, I think having access to more living space to grow food and have greater options is still a commodity over not being able to even keep pets in a city.

Next comes asset options in terms of inflation and recession protection. Feasibility of storage. Ease of use. Market and merchant support. Insurance. Protection against theft. And so on. An emphasis on assets which help to alleviate rising full and transportation costs as well as food costs could be made. The value of diesel engines and diesel powered vehicles could rise due to their flex fuel capability. Diesel vehicles can run on vegetable oil and biodiesel. A farmer with access to crops that can be refined into one or the other could potentially provide for all of their fuel needs.

Food options could also be a concern. While money may not grow on trees. Food certainly does. And perhaps that is something people will make an effort to leverage more in the future. If indeed food shortages and inflation become harsh realities.
That is the correct thing coping with inflation is a very difficult thing. But the best approach is to work double shift to find some online work - which is less hussle and more profitable - this kind of work can save all your outside expanse and you can cope up with the inflation. Better stop curing the situation and start working to  gain financial independence

And also stop buying anything for now. If you have your assets in USDT for now, it's good to just try not to buy anything and wait for the world to calm down. No buying of real properties, bonds, and stocks. But it's a good thing to physically buy gold and silver once this heat stops because I think we are going back to currencies backed by gold and silver.
2755  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you choose cryptocurrency as full time job? on: October 15, 2022, 02:39:44 AM

I believe you can work in the crypto industry as your source of income. I was trying to search for some jobs the other day.
Even though the adoption of crypto can not obviously seen, companies are gradually adopting it. Going thru the job sites today, you can find a lot of jobs related to crypto so if you just have the skills to be a dev or marketing professional you can make good money.
2756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Casino tokens such as BFG, OWL or TFS on: October 14, 2022, 04:45:24 PM
And why OWL keeps on going up in price? Honestly their site doesn't seem to be very unique or impressive - anyone has a credible explanation who is behind the price rise of that OWL token?!

 Huh
OWL prices have continued to fall to this day since the thread was created by the OP, no crypto or any token has survived the ferocious bear market, tokens from gambling sites are not profitable in my opinion, because there are some gambling sites that eventually abandon their tokens and become worthless
I somewhat agree with you that gambling site tokens are not very profitable because they are not traded as much as others.  These are mostly used to get a staking reward or to play casino games . Because of this, gambling site tokens are not very popular with potential traders.  So their prices do not go up and down too much

It's true. I'm a casino token investor myself and the token had been distributed since 2019 but the price still didn't even touch $0.5 I rarely see the volume go more than $50. I don't see any demand despite the marketing done for it.

The benefit though is good, claiming revenue every day and betting the tokens sometimes makes me lucky. REceiving revenue from the casino is like stacking sats everyday.

2757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 14, 2022, 04:28:54 PM
Charles suffered a lot of defeat to climb to the top 1 than Izzy though. Still, they both made it. The more challenging part is maintaining to be the top 1 because sure thing there will always be someone better than someone. Not saying it's Islam. He is not safe even on the ground because Charles is also skilled on the ground.

Many fighters come back after a few years of inactivity or retirement, and that's when they lose. a Champion with a tainted record like retiring with the last fight being defeated badly will not sound good for his biography.  Khabib staying a champ after retiring is good for him. The discipline must be superb, he knows when to stop.
2758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 14, 2022, 03:09:22 AM

Kambosos really looks bad on his first fight against Haney, but I think his camp is somehow confident that Kambosos will do differently this time.  Also, the odds for Kambosos is very enticing, I might bet for Kambosos just to go after the better winnings with a higher risk.  Aside from that, I really wanted to see Kambosos winning this time.

This is if he wins. Few days left for this awaited fight. Given that he got the chance to come back without having to fight someone else. Kambosos' team must be very confident that he'd win.  Either by KO or decision, you'd still get a substantial win even if you just give it $10. Devin by KO is 3.40, this is the only option for a small timer to get a fair amount.
2759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good that the Bitcoin community acts like a cult? (Podcast) on: October 14, 2022, 02:33:34 AM
The fact that a lot of people in the community has a libertarian mindset, does not mean that they are part of some extremist cult. We have to remember that anyone challenging the "norm" and finding better alternatives..are in actual fact good for the society.
Depends, extremism usually isn't very good regardless what it's about. Although, I don't think Bitcoin is subjected to much of it, thankfully. There are though, definitely Bitcoin maximalists which could potentially be seen as harmful depending on your perspective.

I find it interesting that the perception is so different here. On Twitter, there are plenty of community members who label themselves as "toxic maximalists", "fundamentalists", "Bitcoin crusaders", "Bitcoin extremists". They will say that anything that is not Bitcoin is a scam, they will argue that even tokens built on top of Bitcoin (Counterparty, Omni, Stacks, RGB, Taro) are scams and there is even a crowd which believes that the Lightning Network is a failure which is not really Bitcoin.

What I find most amusing is that Blocsktream tried to offer all the "scammy" features on the Liquid sidechain. And after they spent time calling out tokens for being scams, now their sidechain mostly mines empty blocks because users don't really want to be associated with these scams. That's what you get when there's no nuance and the scam is the tool itself, which is not relative to a network or protocol. Anyway, I got sidetracked a bit. My point is that the responses I got here are visibly different from those I got on Twitter.

What is true to other people, could be false to others. I'm sure it wouldn't really affect you unless you get to become a keyboard warrior to argue each so don't stress yourself with those comments cause it won't help grow a youtube channel.

The forum is not a religious group that's for sure and more than likely, half of the users have invested in ETH. The forum is not entirely into BTC but a lot have diversified thier belief kinda practicing Santeria.  Grin  The community is very inclusive too, it only needs registration.

2760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling - Do you have winning limits???? on: October 13, 2022, 05:07:56 PM
My choice of gambling is Dice. Regularly I used to spend some time playing dice. It used be fun most at the beginning and ends with sadness. I used to have limits on winning, if I was able to make the win I just quit it for the day. In such a way I used to gamble and once after the previous week campaign payment I continued till today. Finally today even after achieving my limits on winning, I went for higher winning. What happened is loss of entire funds in the wallet. I've got more similar experiences. Does anyone have used similar strategy on winning limits?

In my vase, I've experienced continuous losses after a good series of winning because of greed. I tried to gain more profit because I expected that I would have as much profit as I want not considering the risks. From then on, I decided to put limits and tried to follow them. It's hard to avoid losses if we'll never put control and limitations. As for me, setting a target goal would be a wise move.

The winning limit will not make you win more if you think about the previous days when you lost your funds. Most of us want to win more which is normally our goal. But we know the winning odds compare to the house when it comes to dice. OP losing them entirely seems normal in dice.

We don't avoid playing dice though because its an easy money when you stop after winning big. It's just a matter of fighting the urge.
