2741  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My feelings after 11 years with crypto. on: May 06, 2021, 04:42:53 AM
In 2015 you only had 15 BTC after mining for the last five years? So you only had less than $7000 worth of BTC and $20k GPU?

Sorry my friend OP but you are not a person who started in 2010.

I am not trying to say that Laszlo was the biggest crypto loser but in the context of the thread,I am saying that Laszlo lost more bitcoin than OP. Those people with the lost drives weren't the biggest loser since they contributed to the growth of the market with their lost coins.

But he is not a loser in either context. He did not lose more BTC. If he never did what he did,,, maybe BTC is worth nothing now.

How can people who actually lost BTC do more contributions hat people who actually USE BTC?
2742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOGECOIN (DOGE) is only HYPE! Better to leave before the BUBBLE BURST on: May 05, 2021, 04:22:30 PM
Fundamentals were always wrong with dogecoin but it was a meme community in it for fun,,, so they never cared.

It is the new community now and new holders and new speculators that are going to be in trouble.

Yesterday DOGE dev himself said. He is not making people rich. Simply put, people are buying more than selling. And people are putting the risk into dogecoin, not him.

All going to end bad.
2743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alternative coins to trade now on: May 05, 2021, 03:43:29 PM

ETH is slower in innovation like BTC but because they are more careful and more decentralized.
This weakness is used by BSC to attract project developer and some investor to use their smart contract. I admit that the Ethereum platform is still the best, moreover Ethereum 2.0 offer many advantages including reduced transaction fee, but if the Ethereum development team doesn't finish the Eth 2.0 project immediately, sooner or later the BSC will become a fireball for the Ethereum platform.

It may be seen as a weakness,,, just like how everyone used to see Bitcoin slow development as a weakness but I think crypto users are much wiser now than 5 years ago and they understand that slow does not mean weak but solid.

ETH is going through a huge change and they need to be very careful with that kind of new architectural modification. It is not like some centralized alt can change anything they want like BSC.

This is a game that is not worth playing to be honest. The biggest headline of the day is that Mourinho takes the spot of the manager. Does he think he can turn Roma ito another Inter of its old days?

Well if they win 4-0 or 5-1, they still go through,,, on away goals rule. If I know mourinho he will just tell them to go for it and try score 1 or 2 goals first. If they finish half time 2-0 like they did before, why not for two more goals in second half? It will not be impossible, Roma knows how to score too it seems and United could be cocky and play a weak team?
2745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do you trust centralized exchanges? on: May 05, 2021, 11:54:12 AM
Yes. I believe even though I last read there was a case where one of the owners of the exchange took off his customers' money. The most important thing is that we can be selective in choosing an exchange and don't choose arbitrarily because until now the exchange I have used has no problem. But if you are having trouble on one of the exchanges if it is reliable it should be resolved

With CEXs you never know. Even when MT Gox happened until today you do not really know what happened. Was it really a hack? Or just plain laziness and neglect from the staff? Or in the case of Quadriga, did they really lose keys when founder died or did they use it as an excuse to steal funds? It is so hard to tell with these guys. Trust is easy to earn in this space and so hard to keep.
2746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum giving bitcoin a hard chase on: May 05, 2021, 10:21:15 AM
Yeah, I noticed that today too when I visited coinmarketcap, amazed that bitcoin's market dominance have dropped to 47 percent which shows why bitcoin's price has been showing some kind of backward movement while Ethereum and other altcoins like dogecoin are increasing immensely in value, as Ethereum's dominance seems to be increasing, it looks like dogecoin is also taking even much higher market dominance than Ethereum is doing, but this is just a guess in my part, I might be wrong about this as I haven't sat down to really study the market dominance chart, but all the same, am happy that altcoins are really moving up bit by bit, I just hope the upward movement extends to other altcoins I hold.

It all means so little in the big scheme of things,,, dominance even for ETH may climb down at some point when all the BSC/BNB and other Defi and smart contracts keep pumping out tokens with crazy max supply and just overtake each other.

Bitcoin has a max supply and so small compared to everyone else, which is why it is not impossible to see a big price value for it.
2747  Economy / Speculation / Re: CoinDesk editor believes Bitcoin will hit 1 million per coin. on: May 05, 2021, 09:31:31 AM
I am too lazy to open all these things to read but since when did Coindesk become somebody to be speaking to Yahoo Finance? I thought editors just edit now they are also price prediction experts ya?Smiley

Anyway 1 million of course why not. We saw DOGE become $50 cents from nothing so why not BTC times 20x to 1 million? so easy.

The question is not if but when;)
2748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will governments destroy stablecoins in the long term? on: May 05, 2021, 08:22:32 AM
Yes, there are a lot of chances for governments to prohibit stablecoins for any reason. If anything like that happens then we cannot expect those reputed exchanges will keep listing stablecoins as they need to comply with government rules, they will simply delist stablecoins.

I'm not expecting people will go for P2P way of trading for centralized things. Because, if governments prohibit stablecoins then its value may not remain stable which means there will be no more point of trading them even in P2P manner. I am also in favor of decentralized stabelcoins. Hopefully we will get something like that in coming years.

They do not even need a reason,,, when have they ever needed a reason other than to remind the people that they rule that they are the ones in power?

Once governments control coins and learn how to use the technology for their own games, then they will allow it like China has allowed and developed their own China coin.
2749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: May 05, 2021, 07:48:02 AM
I must confess I do not understand the protests. Glazers have been there for how long - 15 years? What are the fans complaining about now? The Superleague idea?

United has finally stabilized a bit results-wise, they secured CL for next year and are basically in the EL final. If they wanted Glazers out, they should have started the protests a long time ago.

I am not a United fan but I have followed some of the news since those times American owners took over. Some of the main reasons:
1. Glazers took over and borrowed money using the club as collateral -- put them in big debt almost $1B.
2. Profits made from seasons go into paying interest, not reinvestment.

And the protests DID start a long time ago, do you remember even a section of fans broke away and formed FC United of Manchester? Nickname the Red Rebels. As icopress mentioned in his link.

Protests were worse before, police had to escort Glazer:)
2750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 05, 2021, 06:39:28 AM
Wow,,, my old coaches really go places:) Poch to PSG (and I guess he could not repeat an upset against Pep last night) and now Mou to Roma. Just wow I would say, Jose will probably not see Europe next season unless Roma somehow reduce the points gap with just a few games remaining. Good luck to him there, I hope he gets what he wants:)
2751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will governments destroy stablecoins in the long term? on: May 04, 2021, 03:39:39 PM
Of course, I doubt about destroying stablecoins, but they will take measures for sure. They will impose taxes, introduce some prohibitions. Some countries may ban the whole thing in principle
The probitions will never work and did you see so many prohibitions on bitcoin in the past? that proves if that will be useless. The government has no choice other than adopt crypto.
So many banks and big companies have been starting to adopt crypto. The government will never able to ban crypto or stable coin.
This digital currency will always exist in the future. They can only give taxation.

Prohibitions will not work on decentralized currencies like Bitcoin of course since they are always easily found and available on p2p networks and not just on centralized exchanges.

But stablecoins are by nature centralized. If they are banned, no regular exchanges will want them and very few p2p people do Tether swaps,,, much less other stablecoins!

Mbappe to Real Madrid is the big transfer I want to see materialise. I think he is the perfect Galactico for Los Blancos to sign. He suits their whole ethos, would he a blockbuster signing. Kane & Haaland are the other two big pending stories this summer.

There is no way Real Madrid will take both of them.
Mbappè and Haaland, are both strikers, they are both expensive they both play in the same position ish.

They will take only one between Kane Mbappè and Haaland and is not sure yet.

If Real will offload Bale on us, they will save $12million off the wage bill but even then they can only afford one of these two superstars. Mbappe will probably stay if he wins Champions League it is just Haaland who will surely leave Dortmund if any club can afford the 100M fee,,, I guess Real would be one of the few clubs able to afford this crazy demand:)
2753  Economy / Speculation / Re: $3.6 Billion in Bitcoin Options Expire Friday April 30 2021 on: May 04, 2021, 01:47:52 PM
This is not the first time that a big amount of Bitcoin options have expired. This is not something that would shake Bitcoin. We should stop worrying about things that happens every now and then. Bitcoin options hitting their expiry dates are normal.

And also, $3.6 billion worth of expiring Bitcoin futures does not mean it will be an amount getting away from Bitcoin for good. Much of it will probably just re-enter Bitcoin.

Options actually does seem to have an impact on Bitcoin price, even though as you say it is not the first time. Just look at the huge price change every time options expire in this amount (a day or two after). Natural reaction or weird? Though your point of money entering or exiting BTC is not valid right? Because options not all are physically settled even:)

2754  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum price will now go down again after reaching 3k? on: May 04, 2021, 01:02:27 PM
There is always possibilites. Even when ETH was reached $1200 it was down to $88 in 2018, how could it can't down again to $2500?it also could rise to $5000, or even $10,000. There is no one can say it will not be.

Admit it, you didn't bought ETH yet and waiting for cheap price to buy ETH, correct?

Exactly correct. ETH was flying so high at 1400 and went down to almost 5% of the old ATH so now even when it looks like it will keep on growing,,, there is nothing to say that it will not again drop down at any level or time. Remember that even if ATH for this rally is 10000 5% of that is only $500 which is even less than where BNB is now;)
2755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do you trust centralized exchanges? on: May 04, 2021, 11:53:40 AM
Of course, if your are a trader what you should be looking out for is an exchange with liquidity and last I checked a cex has more liquidity than a dex. And besides this you can trade on multi blockchains with a few clicks other than coins only found on that blockchain.

Another reason to use a cex is some now have insurance so they are  responsible should a hack happen unlike a Dex where you're sorely responsible for what ever happens.
I guess I have all the reasons to trust a centralized exchange.

Depends on which CEX you are looking at. Some CEXs also just fake the orderbooks as soon as you want to put an order the order disappears when you want to take it. Some CEX like Coinbase do not even display orderbook so you have no idea of liquidity. DEX displays the real amount assuming the smart contract is also valid:)
2756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: May 04, 2021, 11:14:22 AM
Home advantage also means nothing with empty stadiums:)

Honestly, I think that in today's high-level football, like this one, that factor is less and less important.
We are talking about professional players, who are already used to playing on this type of stage, and they can, for the most part, withstand that pressure with some ease.

Tell that to supporters of clubs like Liverpool or Real Betis or Flamengo,,, these clubs all play at the highest level of football and especially even at intercontinent tournaments they are forced to play at neutral grounds because their home fans are such at advantage. So Home Advantage is a real thing for some clubs, and gone now with Covid. Trust me,,, if you attend matches and watch you can see teams play so different. It is not just pressure it is motivation!
2757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alternative coins to trade now on: May 04, 2021, 09:36:48 AM
In fact the price of BNB continues to increase, since the advent of the BSC platform the project developer have preferred BSC over the Ethereum platform, because BSC transaction fee are much cheaper than Ethereum. When viewed in terms of innovation, Binance is faster at updating than Ethereum, this greatly benefits BNB in the future.

But like I keep saying, yes this is true,,, but the main reason if not the only reason they are doing so is because of ETH fees like you said. This was the same single argument that BCH and BSV shills used to say people would move from BTC to their chains. And it actually worked for a little while, and then stopped when people saw Bitcoin still had the good and secure network and real developers.

ETH is slower in innovation like BTC but because they are more careful and more decentralized.
2758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: May 04, 2021, 07:04:12 AM

The protest was ridiculous.  A couple of police officers injured, some people vandalizing stuff and just doing plain ol’ hooliganism.  And for what?  Cos the club owners won’t spend money on players to win cups?  Lol.  Ridiculous.

Yeah nice to see Bale start and give that kind of performace.
Its not just about hooliganism. During these COVID times..it could be a super spreader event for Corona to be spread again across the country. I barely saw anyone wearing a mask. I can understand the fans frustration but its not like changing the management now with 5 games remaining will change the outcome for the last few games. There is the whole off season for them to display their disappointment and time to work towards a better future for Man United.

I do not know about you guys but I personally think this was something good. It started out as a peaceful protest but of course a few people there started to become violent. That was wrong and the media is wrong to highlight that fact.

But the point here is being missed. The protest was organized,,, some hooligans chose to make it their scene after drinking.

This is not about owners not spending money, it was owners taking money out of the club for personal gain. Clubs that have over 100 years history in communities.

I am not condoning the violence but you all have to see past this. This was a statement to remind the owners that the fans still have a say in club matters.
2759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Uniswap Token Price Prediction on: May 04, 2021, 05:55:46 AM
In a year? Bullrun should be over then if we follow the 4 year cycles. So do you think that when other prices probably tank, UNI would keep on growing? IMHO it might at well hit $60 before this bullrun is over but i am certain it will go down with the others when the cycle is over, like most of them did last time.

Agree here but I guess there are now more and more people who think that this cycle will be very different because of less retail power behind it and more institutional power instead which should lead to less dumping and therefore more sustainable prices,,, I find it strange UNI is worth just only a little bit more than CAKE though relative to the timeframe.
2760  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alternative coins to trade now on: May 03, 2021, 03:39:11 PM
I can only recommend BNB to you. BNB journey in 2021 is very good, price BNB increased after the team reduced the supply of BNB in the market with the combustion process that was carried out some time ago. The BNB is currently priced at $624, and will hit the $1,000 mark before the turn of the year. If you are still unsure about BNB or the price is too expensive for you, please check the list of coin that have the potential to benefit you at CMC.

I would recommend only BNB to someone who wants to trade Defi on another platform other than Ethereum.

BNB looks like a solid buy now only because of the excitement on BSC with defi but there remains a lot to be seen once the hype has died down. Does BSC have enough good projects and good dapps like ETH does? Of course it does not. Does that mean the market price will be affected? Of course it will.
