2741  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling, investment, stocks..... on: June 25, 2023, 08:03:06 PM

Yes, indeed you can considering that these gambling companies are registered to SEC. But aren't you curious why investing towards gambling stocks are not gaining any attention by the public and the investors? It's because it's not really advisable especially if you're looking forward to invest in gambling stocks as stocks alone as a whole are much more volatile and much more risky because of its vulnerability mainly when the economy is declining.

I think another reason that the gambling stocks are having that level of high attention is that people who play most times don't make profit and so they feel it will be a wasted investment just like they have been recording losses. It takes a knowledgeable bettor to have a different view from what I have said because by the time you play repeatedly without no success, you also get discouraged from further investment, at least this is the way the larger population of losers will think.
2742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: June 25, 2023, 04:28:00 PM
Is this happening for real? I am just surprised to see this type of gambling discussion which I have never imagined like two billionaires who have setup top companies will be competing in a cage match but have some dates been finalized or this is just another one of the influence drama going on for some upcoming projects for both of them? But if this is happening I am seeing lot of hype about it and a great event for gamblers as well with boosted odds.

How it started . I think this may just be another social media stunt that we are going to see unfold something as days go by. After three days that this story took over the air and musk mum tweeting on not going to see that come through, we are yet to get updated on the next move if these two rich dude are going to give the public something to talk about anytime soon but if that is going to happen, I believe crypto is going to rally so hard.

2743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A bitcoin retirement plan with a disturbing length of years. on: June 25, 2023, 02:54:18 PM

Why do people diversify their portfolios and not focus on bitcoin? They also don't trust bitcoin?

No I don't think it is because of trust that people won't stay with only bitcoin but however, there is a saying that a wise man doesn't rely on only one source of income to be financially stable and satisfied to take care of the family. Diversification is economically wise. Agreed that bitcoin has a level of guarantee but some other coins have survived through time so to also keep some reserve with etheruem is quite reasonable. Apart from bitcoin and etheruem, some other altcoins have also fluctuated and survived like bitcoin, variety is the spice of life as it is said.
2744  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: June 25, 2023, 01:44:56 PM
Many think that this will be a win for Zuckerberg, but they are different in height and weight and that could be an advantage for Musk if it is true that he does also have some experience in martial arts

It's funny how they also compare the net worth! Cheesy

But Musk is also 30 to 45 lbs heavier according to the text although I think that Musk is even heavier than that. It is 6 inches and the weight and of course technique is important above all else, but when both have some experience those differences in height and weight could be hard for Zuckerberg to counter.

If this fight were to be real I don't think your analysis regards to height would be an advantage in this because your have to consider age which is important to movement and speed. Looking at Mick Tyson in his prime, he was able to defeat most bigger fighters because of his age that was advantage for him and then his punch. So if musk had the combination of age and height then I would agree with you but now he only has height slightly higher than Zuckerberg and that may not matter
2745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: European Sex Championship 😳, Will you Bet? on: June 25, 2023, 12:56:54 PM

The proposal for this sex championship was indeed submitted but it was rejected by the National Sports Confederation of Sweden in April.
So we need not worry about it affecting the children. It was kind of obvious that the proposal would be rejected.
I wonder why sex was declared as a sport at first place when they know that it's a private thing.

Source : https://news.yahoo.com/debunked-sweden-not-hosting-sex-230735889.html

It is good to hear that this purported escapades of sex show didn't happen after all to the public or I'm thinking it didn't happen publicly. To have sex in the public is not was should be encouraged because it was not designed to be that way for human beings but only for animals and that is way we are higher and above them

I can see where this is coming from because the lead organizer, Dragan Bratych , the chairman of the Swedish Federation of Sex runs a strippers club and he probably felt to move miles further to gratify his business in sports.

The competition failed totally and the organizer is claiming that contestants broke the rules thereby all of them were disqualified. The proposed six-week context ended in shame and I am glad it did. At least it is clear that people have rejected sex as a sports competition.

Can you provide a detailed information and link to show the sex sports actually happened because I just read from the above link that it was not approved.
Quote
Bjorn Eriksson, the chief of the sports federation, confirmed the rejection of the application by the National Sports Confederation, citing failure to meet their requirements.

2746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which League Makes Sports Betting Easy to Win? on: June 25, 2023, 07:43:22 AM

Champions leagues are also one of the easiest just incase one isn't comfortable with all this little leagues.

I hardly will believe this with champions league. To me it is the most sanctified of them all because it involves different champions from different country's league so the possibilities are extremely slim except if you are talking about the last matches of the group stage but even with that FIFA tries to eliminate that fear of match fixing by playing them simultaneously. When the matches get to elimination stages, I don't envisage that to happen. At the last final, if Intermilan was able to defeat Manchester city, then I would be likely thinking it is all match fixed  Grin
2747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: June 25, 2023, 04:38:08 AM

You will find some women who also want to conquer the odds while some men know that there is no point in trying. I think with the changing landscape having more women who are self made, individual and determined, more female gamblers will increase the statistics.

The women are leaving that gender limitations to try out more risky endeavours, taking their chance which is what gambling itself is all about. If you try today with fear to win small then the next time you want to increase your chances of winning big

Ideally, no one should gamble.

Unfortunately it can't be stopped, even the bible story recorded it and in fact the rate of gambling is increasing which is the reason for more gambling and gaming companies all over the internet. Currently, the highest numbers of signature campaigns in the forum are on gambling and casinos. I think the means of source of income is now mixed with professionalism and luck based, unlike in the past that it was strictly on acquisition of skills both unskilled, semi skilled and skilled .
2748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 24, 2023, 09:13:41 PM
No one will give 200 million for Mbappe, Real aims to get Mbappe as a free agent, and no one will overpay for him. For Mbappe, first of all, the issue with PSG needs to be resolved, are they ready to wait for 2024 to let him go as a free agent, I am almost sure that PSG will not agree to this, because for them it will mean losing a lot of money. And I see that Mbappe is now pursuing a purely financial interest, despite the fact that he is a very talented player.
You say no one? Well I think Real Madrid are still desperate yo have Kylian Mbappe on their team list next season and so they are capable of paying such huge amount to secure his signature. I think all they are waiting for is a go-ahead and they will go any length to get him this summer. This is a big problem for PSG that they need to resolve before the new season begins so that they can begin the season without distractions.

I think the issue with mpappe is still not clear if Madrid has bought him over. But they have Jude Bellingham already incase mbappe didn't go through and they are shopping for one more option. As for mbappe, he is still giving assurance to PSG to stay with them one more year till 2024 but I can't be sure at the moment if he has finally been bought over to Madrid.
2749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is There A Time That You Calculated All Your loses In One Year on: June 24, 2023, 08:36:29 PM

So I stopped counting my losses and just minimize my betting I just tried to be happy on the thought that I have good times betting and I enjoy the thrill.

Gamble for the fun of it mostly and if you attach monetary interest as priority on it you should accept all that will come from it because it is luck base. Bet as you can manage to control when you lose. It always happen that way that when you lose money you begin to worry but the winning comes and you increase your stake to lose higher. To be cautious about how much goes into gambling is a wise idea and the best is to set aside a percentage of how much you wish to bet by the week or month so that you can really have a control on how much wager you want to carry out at the month. Proper calculation and accountability shows good management of gambling habit.
2750  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: IMF calls for the regulation of cryptocurrency on: June 24, 2023, 07:44:04 PM
IMO , I don't think IMF should be taken seriously in regards to matters of cryptocurrency because legally, they are strictly to look into the monetary of funds in their member countries and how their policy promotes financial stability and economic growth through job creation. I don't see how cryptocurrency is interfering in their obligations so they don't even need to gag the crypto community that is already creating investment and financial freedom for good numbers of youths across. Countries who have created CBDC are seeing need for catching their market audience online , IMF need to understand the current rhythms of the time.

2751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you find it offensive to be referred to as an addicted gambler? on: June 24, 2023, 06:44:03 PM

But telling someone to their face or worse, to someone else, that one is an addict, as if it were diagnosed fact, can be wrong and very harming to one's reputation.

I think a real addict doesn't have much to do with reputation anymore because if he does, he won't have to get to the level of addict, he would place some limit to himself because at that point he is still in control of himself and emotion which makes him to be cautious of his actions. Someone is an addict because he has lost self control to limit himself on his gambling playing habit. Therefore, having reputation is not visible for an addict, that is why giving them help is mostly by initially out of their will , that means the third party has to act for them by taking the decision to help him out of it.
2752  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: New world order or CBDC against cryptocurrencies on: June 24, 2023, 05:41:10 PM

We do not know whose interests Godwin Emefile represented, but he had great political ambitions to become the president of the country.
Now in Nigeria there is a serious political conflict between the new president of the country and the leadership of the central bank, which possibly defends the interests of other financial elites.
__
I await comments from Nigerians.

Godwin Emefiele is currently in the custody the Department of State Service on interrogations. Yesterday the president finally opened up on the reason for his suspension and arrest while attending  the summit for A New Global Financing Pact in French The government is interrogating him on Multiple exchange rate which made those outside Nigeria to find it difficult sending money down to Nigeria and that the financial system of the country was rotten under him making few have advantage over the majority.

I agree that there was a ridiculous exchange rate that is far lower than what the majority of Nigerians could access. That ridiculous rate was called the official rate that only those directly at the top level of government and influential can access it and was pegged for around  #450- $1 and I'm sure very few business people and limited politicians accessed that rate while the rest access the other window called black market @ #750 - $1. There was this huge margin on that multiple window plus the naira redesigned that caused so much confusion and death in the land but my submission is that he was not all alone, why pick only him
2753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you cheat in gambling? on: June 24, 2023, 04:12:44 PM

First of all, gambling itself is a cheating to bypass nature and that's why every religion frowns against it. How can you place $100 to win $1000 for example and you don't consider it as form of cheating? The truth is that gambling is a situation where one person attempt to cheat the other. It however favors the operators more than the gamblers.

To answer your question now, I don't think a gambler will see that opportunity and let it slide without making attempt to take the advantage. Moral standards and gambling are not suppose to be in the same sentence. But have you ever seen or heard of such tricks before? I'm curious  Grin

This your allusion I think is the reason that some people don't gamble because they are drawing from what happened in the bible when it was narrated that Jesus Christ chased out gamblers from the temple or church and that is the example that it is immoral to gamble as some attributes from those in the bible is also associated with present gamblers. But at this present question, I have seen some gamblers responding that they won't cheat casino and I think it is difficult to cheat on online casino except those gambling offline.
2754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between futures trading and gambling on: June 24, 2023, 03:33:47 PM
but futures can make you instantly rich if you will increase it in 75x cross but in another way you can also be poor instantly when things go dip.

Wow really... Like you said if that decision goes wrong, you are good as starting all over which does not make business sense to take all your coins into trade at a time for a probable profit. 75x is very high risk and not to be encouraged. Likewise also in gambling, to cut the risk is to bet as you can be fine when you lose the money.
2755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between futures trading and gambling on: June 24, 2023, 02:52:18 PM

The argument that features like stop-loss make trading safer is only partially valid. Indeed, stop-loss can help limit losses, but only if correctly used. It still doesn't make trading any less risk-prone.

I don't think there is any means of not correctly using stop loss only if you know how to set it to safeguard some of your money back to you. At least that is what the name means.

It also doesn't ensure that one won't get sucked into the vortex of continuous trading in the hope of recovering losses. The assertion that trading doesn't involve emotional burden seems rather skewed.

Avoiding being skewed is not the purpose of stop loss but to manage resource or the capital. When you make wrong decision the stop loss can stop it at some point.

In fact, emotional decision-making and psychological biases are often at play in trading decisions as well.

Trading just like gambling will involve emotional fear and decision at least for the reason that they both involve the possibility of losing your money if it doesn't go your way. This is sure because money is the primary focus here in both and a trader or gambler fight to secure the money and to increase it
2756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: June 24, 2023, 01:57:49 PM

they are very well-known personalities all over the world, I wouldn't be surprised if there are a lot of people who would want to see this fight happen. it's probably a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see two of the richest men in the world fight it out in the octagon.

It is definitely not there thing. What happens if few feeble punches takes one to the ground and he perhaps passes out, I guess we will see another record on genis book of records. Those rich guys likes to be alive to enjoy what they have built. Elon musk mum already given heads to what it is all about. It is not going to happen, that I don't see coming.
and so are a lot of the YouTubers who participated in a boxing match. you seem to be underestimating these two people a lot, Mark Zuckerberg recently joined a jiu-jitsu tournament and won a gold and silver medal, Elon Musk claims that he had trained in martial arts when he was a kid and briefly trained in Jiu-Jitsu as an adult(I saw a video clip of him on a joe rogan podcast). besides, pretty sure if this fight ever goes through(which is most likely not because of the twit of Elon Musk's mom) they'd train themselves to prepare for this fight. I am not going to claim that their fight will be good or spectacular, but it would still be entertaining to watch these two fight.

I don't know if they gonna let this fight to happen since they are both busy and this is just a waste of their time.  But if both of them bored and will make this fight to happen for sure this one create history even though this is not a serious fight. If there's betting gonna happen I will choose the youth since Zuckerberg has a lot of advantage on this fight since also he have good trainings compare to Musk which we don't know if he really can fight Zuckerberg in physical fight.

Well for all I know whether YouTubers or something of sort, talking specifically on these two personality, they are just craving for attention to further get their social media platforms buzzing. You know how many tweet this gimmick have generated ever since this started occupying the airwaves? Mark is also getting his Facebook on the edge with that. It is good for marketing that they bring some vibes once in a while for the community to trend on.
2757  Economy / Economics / Re: The cost of living is trying to kill the living on: June 23, 2023, 10:45:21 PM

But in a situation like now we can't just expect action from the government. we have to have our own solution. start from frugal living. cut unnecessary costs. etc.

I think this is the right mindset. There is a general hard time across the globe and only just few countries can barely take care of their citizens. So individuals should find away to live by what is available. It is unfortunate that it is happening that way but to keep lamenting won't solve any problems for us but to look inward within ourselves and find what we can do to survive. With the things going on, it is looking like survival of the fittess and only the fit can survive. Taking away unnecessary expenses is away to reduce some of our financial cost, yes

Yes its already confirmed we are all just speculating here there's already a confirmation that the fight will not push through based on Elon Musk's mother's Tweet and we all know mother knows best, we all want the match to happen but Elon's mother is worried on Elon's health and age he is not a fighter in the ring he is a corporate fighter
I think it's better to lock this thread and only open it if they decide to continue and they have already signed a contract.
that's too bad, though I know it would be a long shot for this fight to go through, but I was still hoping for it to happen. it would have been fun to watch and would bring a lot of entertainment if two of the richest men in the world is going to fight in the octagon. sportsbooks would probably have a field day from people wanting to bet on this match if it ever were to happen.

I wonder who was actually hoping and expecting such to happen? I mean two wealthy billionaires coming out in a fight in a ring to be watched, that should be ridiculous even though it would put some money in their pockets and for the promoters but of what essence? We know what strings Elon musk is capable of pulling and that is just what it is. He would rather relax in his hotel in space while the earth would be waiting for him  Grin
2760  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: New world order or CBDC against cryptocurrencies on: June 23, 2023, 06:37:53 PM

But from a political point of view, this is a great achievement. Other countries do not arrest former central bankers.

Selfish gain supercide the interest of the people. When a new government feels there are enemies he has to go after. Arresting the central bank governor is chasing shadow because the governor wouldn't have acted only on his own volition. Revelations will unfold on who did what and all that thereby disattracting governance.
