Rand Paul Says He Was Briefed by Clinton Author About Book's 'Unseemly' Details“I've promised not to reveal” everything, the Republican presidential candidate says.Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul says the author of the forthcoming book Clinton Cash briefed him on the book and that its allegations are “alarming.” The book by Peter Schweizer purports to show that donors to Hillary Clinton's family foundation and groups that hired her husband for speaking engagements received government favors while Clinton led the State Department, the New York Times reported Sunday. “I've promised not to reveal all the details, but I think people are going to be blown away by the details in this book and how they link the Clintons into this enormous exchange of money from foreign countries, from donors to companies and that it's all swirling around,” Paul, a Kentucky senator, said on Fox News' Hannity on Monday. “It reminds me of people using the system to enrich themselves and I think it looks unseemly and I think a lot of Americans are going to agree with me.” Asked if the behavior detailed in the book is illegal, Paul did not outright classify it that way, instead saying that the book will raise questions. ... http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2015-04-21/rand-paul-says-he-was-briefed-by-clinton-author-about-book-s-unseemly-details

I'd hope with this kind of talk that the Bitcoin/Blockchain startup VCs will be heavily in Rand's corner for being a pioneer on this starting the presidential primary season off.

Rand Paul Chides 'Naysayers' Who Want to Regulate BitcoinPresidential candidate Rand Paul describes himself as a politician who bridges old ideas and new technology, and he sought to get that message across at a fundraising get-together with Bitcoin enthusiasts this week. "I'm not an expert on Bitcoin, but I'm open to new technology," Paul told a small but intent crowd of mostly twenty- and thirty-somethings at the Union League Club in New York on Sunday. "To me it's intriguing to actually eliminate cost somehow in the transfer of money and buying things." His backdrop was a room steeped in the history of the Republican Party, including portraits of a mutton-chopped Chester A. Arthur, bushy-bearded Rutherford B. Hayes and other, more recent Republican presidents. Yet there were modern wrinkles, like the banner displayed behind Paul of the logos of Bitcoin-based companies. The Kentucky senator, one of a large field of candidates chasing the GOP nomination, said that he became more interested in the technology behind the cryptocurrency after reading Netscape co-founder and Silicon Valley venture capitalist Marc Andreessen's take on the payments potential for digital currencies and blockchains. ... http://www.americanbanker.com/news/bank-technology/rand-paul-chides-naysayers-who-want-to-regulate-bitcoin-1073906-1.html

Presidential Candidate Rand Paul Impresses at the NY Bitcoin EventPresidential candidate Rand Paul graced the 19th April Bitcoin event held at the Union League Club and left the attendees highly impressed with his thoughts on the cryptocurrency. The event was hosted by the Bitcoin Center NYC and a start-up incubator Blockchain Technologies Corp. Rand Paul is the running the first presidential campaign ever to accept Bitcoin in donations. Since the event was not publicly promoted by the campaign management team, the remarks from the events will not be released, said Sergio Gor, spokesperson for Paul’s campaign. However, the social media was abuzz with details regarding the event. An attendee Paul Hanson @PaulHansonNY tweeted on April 20, 2015: “Rand was brief but on-point in his remarks. Very exciting to see our next president in person.” Another twitter user Avishai/Jacob Cohen @vichispeaks tweeted one of Paul’s event remarks: “I’m open to technology, I’m open to innovation.” On being quizzed about Bitcoin regulation and national security, Paul said, “Important to keep innovation in US.” ... http://www.newsbtc.com/2015/04/21/presidential-candidate-rand-paul-impresses-at-the-ny-bitcoin-event/

I just knew that Xapo was involved in this on some level when I saw the headline. They're sitting on over a hundred million in funding and are supposedly the largest vault holding service in the world.

Well, I thought we'd seen everything by now but a govt supporting an exchange beats all. Never saw this coming.

Can't say I'm bullish on this considering Bentley should've already come in here to share the update, not leave it hanging over on CS w/ a cut off date where almost no one would catch it. Try contacting them on their website and see what kind of customer service you get.

Lindsey Graham Takes Shot at Paul: ‘I’m Not Focusing on Kids Who Smoke Dope’ ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) Nobody that wants to chill would want anything to do with this war hawk. Senator Lindsey Graham agrees with his colleague Rand Paul on outreach, but said today he’s doing more than just reaching out to “kids who smoke dope in their parents’ basement.” Graham has been incredibly critical of Paul in the past, and recently he said he’s on the same side as his libertarian brethren, he just wants to do more than “yell.” And in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, out today, Graham said it’s healthy for Republicans like him and Paul to fight it out over foreign policy. He asked, “Is it going to be the party of Ron Paul’s son or Ronald Reagan? At the end of the day that’s a fight worth having.” ... I just spent ~20 minutes reading various articles about Lindsey Graham, and I'm more convinced than ever he is one of the worst RINO's on Earth. Yep, it's guys like him and his buddy McCain that were for arming the so-called Syrian rebels and then these arms ended up in ISIS hands. The fact that they don't learn form their mistakes leads me to believe that these raging neocons do this stuff on purpose knowing full well where these arms will end up. Then, it's time to bring in ground troops and all of the above to stop the evil bad guys. So, give weapons to evil people knowing that they'll use them to harm innocent people and then you'll have the media footage to propagandize Americans into wanting to help those poor innocent people and calling for more military means to take care of it. Then, blame reasonable foreign policy positions like non-interventionism for causing the situations overseas. Next up, load up the debate stages w/ neocon hawks and make Rand look like the odd ball out. Hope it backfires on them and makes Rand stand out to people even more in a positive way.

Employees of one small Missouri town had an extreme reaction when residents elected their first Black female mayor: 80% of the police department quit, along with the city clerk and two other staffers. Tyrus Byrd, a former Parma, MO city council member, was sworn into office as mayor last week, but she will have to deal with a police force with only one person. Five of the town's six police officers submitted letters of resignation last week, citing only "safety concerns," according to news station KFVS. No one knows yet exactly what "safety concerns" would make a town's public safety officers quit en masse, but Byrd has said she is still determined to clean up the city. To make the mass resignations even more suspicious, KFVS also reported that when Byrd started her first day, the officers' resignation letters could not be found, and that computers had been wiped clean. Byrd won a close election against longtime Mayor Randall Ramsey, who held the office for 37 years. The population of Parma is slightly more than 700 people, and Byrd won by less than 40 votes. The city attorney, clerk, and waste water treatment supervisor also resigned with the police officers. http://www.refinery29.com/2015/04/85950/police-department-quits-after-town-elects-black-woman-mayor

I don't believe in that scenario. Op you just pulled that numbers out of a hat. But I did not believe in other things like economic crash of 2007 earlier and that happened. I will more likely believe that it would be 1 BTC = 1 USD by the year 2018. As we know now that that price of bitcoin $+1000 was caused by a bot... and that surge was fake.
You must be kidding or off your marbles, the infrastructure is too strong now for that to happen. If bitcoin were to fade into that territory, people would move on to something else and it would be worthless. As things progress, more demand will come into bitcoin and the price will go up. Again, people forget what happens when a bull market starts, it's likely to be mean after the lasting bear season.

No way can it be close to 12 million users. The amount of people that may have tried it once and never used it again, could be a pretty big number. But number of currently ACTIVE users must be below 500,000 IMO. There are only ~750K addresses with a balance over 0.1 BTC This is not happening in the real world at this point. We all should do so much more to and be recogonized in that this will be huge.

Last week two prominent Ukrainian opposition figures were gunned down in broad daylight. They join as many as ten others who have been killed or committed suicide under suspicious circumstances just this year. These individuals have one important thing in common: they were either part of or friendly with the Yanukovych government, which a US-backed coup overthrew last year. They include members of the Ukrainian parliament and former chief editors of major opposition newspapers. While some journalists here in the US have started to notice the strange series of opposition killings in Ukraine, the US government has yet to say a word. Compare this to the US reaction when a single opposition figure was killed in Russia earlier this year. Boris Nemtsov was a member of a minor political party that was not even represented in the Russian parliament. Nevertheless the US government immediately demanded that Russia conduct a thorough investigation of his murder, suggesting the killers had a political motive. As news of the Russian killing broke, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Ed Royce (R-CA) did not wait for evidence to blame the killing on Russian president Vladimir Putin. On the very day of Nemtsov’s murder, Royce told the US media that, “this shocking murder is the latest assault on those who dare to oppose the Putin regime.” Neither Royce, nor Secretary of State John Kerry, nor President Obama, nor any US government figure has said a word about the series of apparently political murders in Ukraine. On the contrary, instead of questioning the state of democracy in what looks like a lawless Ukraine, the Administration is sending in the US military to help train Ukrainian troops! ... bulls getting trapped again.
even if we go to 230+ that will be just another good opportunity to short, nothing more.
this looks very weak.
Looks like bear trap to me.... Shorts will be shitting their pants at $235. If you are trying to do a bull trap why would you do it on 4/20, with no news and a Monday. OKCoin futures increasing even with the CB dips. I have a friend that is head over heals w/ cannabiscoin and is flying into that magical period thinking that his gains will stay intact or perhaps shed a few prior. Color me lol and do not care.

I think GBTC will be interesting to watch! We can see specific players and the bids/asks they create and not all these anonymous walls we are used to. Hopefully someone makes a bot that shows the walls with the traders listed! ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) We don't need that (a bot) to see what's going on. It's all obvious w/o it and no walls are needed as all crucial info is readily available on the GBTC page wherever it's listed.

Looks as if 1400cny might break
Think we are headed into the $230's finally. OKcoin futures still unimpressed. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2Fd6MqG2l.gif&t=663&c=gRsGZlE6KW72jw) That's an interesting mexican jumping bean belly that you're trying to showcase. Adam, are you cleaning house w/ a shark model or what? I haven't seen this place so spic and span like in forever.
