It boils down to this - decide yourself whether you want to tie your reputation to
a) something designed and used by cryptographers that even after worst compromise can be revoked
or
b) to some forum/website where you have to trust admins, moderators, VPS provider and God knows who else.
I don't see how in any way Joe Sixpack invalidates this consideration. GPG isn't so hard to learn even for him.
GPG would be an incredibly hard concept for just about anyone I know to grasp or learn to use. So yes, it does invalidate that consideration. WOT and MPOE miss the mark on general populace usability, and no amount of "no really, it's not that hard" is going to change that fact.

I don't see where I said anything like that.
All I am saying is, if I want to use my time doing something I don't want to do, it may as well be working instead of spending a bunch of time getting something "for free".
It's like standing in line for 10 minutes to get a free nickel.
I don't understand the doing something you don't want to do part. You, nor I, would want to wait in line for a free nickel or 0.25 PPC, but to me, I think there is a bigger point. It's a new experiment. Maybe just trying to promote a new coin? or promote adding more nodes to secure the network? I don't know. I wouldn't do most shit for a nickel, but somehow I downloaded the big ass BTC blockchain in the beginning and got squat, but yet I still use it today. No hard feelings friend. Fair enough. I suppose when I see something that is free, I expect that something to be valuable enough to be worth acquiring. You find that value in the experimentation.

It's not free. It's a waste of time.
If it takes me 10 minutes to download the client, install it, and configure it, that's 10 minutes of opportunity cost. If I value my time at the same rate as my working wage, then it's worth about $3.15 of my time.
And how much is 0.25 ppcoin worth?
[sarcasm] Oh yeah, I forgot how we all got paid for downloading, installing, and configuring. [/sarcasm] GTFOHWTBS I don't see where I said anything like that. All I am saying is, if I want to use my time doing something I don't want to do, it may as well be working instead of spending a bunch of time getting something "for free". I would much rather have verified information as to the location of residency of person(s) involved in a business instead of involvement on the WOT. WOT doesn't mean much when it comes to conducting big business. It's good for small trades between geeky people though.

Why are you confusing newbs with a separate coin. And pp coin could be worth nothing. So .25 of pp coin is less then 0.001 bitcoin
Its free though, why complain about its amount? It's not free. It's a waste of time. If it takes me 10 minutes to download the client, install it, and configure it, that's 10 minutes of opportunity cost. It seems like this group is focused on business activity more than anything else...
What about "Bitcoin Business Group"? Or some other name with Bitcoin and Business in it.

What is interesting to me is the dilemma that such a situation would pose.
What dilemma would that be? If you just convert old currency to new currency "1:1" so to say, you gain nothing and everything is as rotten as before, you still have a debt crisis on hand. If you "wipe out" the old currency you also wipe out all the debt (because FIAT equals debt) and effectively steal from the people owning the debt. Dilemma: how to introduce a new currency in a fair way? Exactly this.

Not your picture.. The one phinn put up of the egg with sperm on it...
Your picture I could see plain as day that it was a bug of sorts... Pretty gross.. Did you call the company?
No, I'll be emailing them this evening though.

I had a guy scam me out of $900 for a computer using paypal a while back.
I filed in small claims court and he never showed up. I got a judgement against him and they arrested him and about a year later I got a check from the court for the full amount.
It was a pain in my ass but I got my money and I was happy.
that is awesome, bo2573! but, like BCB mentioned, i don't have the same kind of recourse with btc through paypal. all i can hope is that someone will get through to him and he will return my money. he isn't responding to email or facebook though. Sure you do. No reason you can't file a small claims court lawsuit just the same as bo did. It'll be more difficult to explain the bitcoin part of it, but you're still owed the same amount of recompense for your troubles.

picture is way to small.. What is it? Little chicken?
You probably should have kept it.
To me it looks like a bug.... I make my own jam sometimes.. Strawberry and raspberry theres no seeds on that "thing"
an unprocessed raspberry or strawberry would have visible seeds.. It looks like unprocessed bug wings and head.
Small? It's like... 3000x2000 or something. But yes, it is a bug. Something with wings at any rate... pretty gross.

is it a June bug? Beetle?
Not sure. I scraped it off and threw it in the trash... maybe I should have saved it.

I love it! The biggest downside is it leaves conservatives with precious little coastline. ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

Honestly, I think it'd be best if the US split into two - those with liberal values can have one half, those with conservative values can have the other.
And the problem with that idea is that you can't give either group the eastern half, because the north and the south are too different. And you can't split it latitudinally, for economic reasons. How about diagonally? ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Na, I'd say people don't need to move unless they want to. Just label each half, and if people REALLY disagree with the views of the half they live in, then they should move.

It could be the start of a very interesting revolution and redistribution of asset-held wealth across the country.
Your idea of interesting and my idea of interesting must be two different things. The redistribution confiscation of assets is theft. Putting it under the guise of a revolution doesn't white wash it of the immorality that boils down to taking things that don't belong to you. I completely agree with you, and I wasn't trying to say that said redistribution would be fair or moral. What is interesting to me is the dilemma that such a situation would pose.

Well that's the end of that mag.
No it's not. Exactly. It's not. Mihai may not be prominent on the forums, but he has been in fact the most important person in the magazine's production all the way from when the idea was first conceived last September, and I trust him in this business both in integrity and in competence completely. We have a strong team onboard with prominent members of the Bitcoin community participating, so the magazine will only get stronger. +1 to that!

More specifically, Sean R in Washington is not happy.
Honestly, I think it'd be best if the US split into two - those with liberal values can have one half, those with conservative values can have the other. Strictly speaking economical values here. But it'd be an awesome experiment at any rate.
Geography by false dichotomy, would be... interesting. What do you mean "false dichotomy"? Just that it's not really a sharp line between the two?

Butterfly Labs says that 20,000 chips are enough to fulfill all current preorders. Ask and you will recieve! That is a vital bit of information I was lacking. Dont suppose you have where you found it? I will try to find it myself but I am lazy ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) . It's either in a Bitcoin Magazine article or at butterfly labs' forum... can't remember which.
