Is it a monologue or a soliloquy or you're serious to send $50k at once and joined the forum just to ask to a brand new service opening its ANN topic a few hours ago?
2764  Other / Meta / Re: Should mods deal with the 1 line posters just here to build their counts. on: June 11, 2020, 01:56:32 PM
If it's was only some posts it's fine, but looking at the post's history there is no doubt the person is shitposting. And yeah it should be reported, it isn't 'spamming' per se but low-quality posts.

There is no need for a welcome message, this user perfectly knows how the forum works. It's clear it's not the first account he opens.
It's the kind of account "in preparation"
2765  Other / Meta / Re: Bumped by who on: June 10, 2020, 07:42:15 PM
If it's something that becomes public, I will stop to use it personally. (it"s not something I use often btw...)
I'm not interested to let others know my interests (and maybe become a target) and I have no interest to see who bumped what.

It's also overloading the forum like a Christmas tree, I prefer minimalist stuff

2767  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mixers. Interview 06.2020 on: June 10, 2020, 05:25:09 PM
Don't be sad if you received what you thought is a low response rate. I think it's okay, I'm not surprised by this.
If you told us that no one answered you, I wouldn't be surprised too. The less they say and the less they appear in public places, the better. It's a kind of cover.

Your questions were ok as long you didn't ask their secret sauce, that's why those replied to you. Otherwise it's like asking for the Nutella recipe, Ferrero will never reply.

You confuse with wallets using the Coinjoin protocol (Wasabi/Samourai).

I don't remember to have ever seen the case of someone in trouble with an exchange platform and a mixer but there are cases when it's about coinjoin. Binance, for example, blocked temporarily an user because he requested a transfer out to a wasabi wallet

https://cointelegraph.com/news/binance-returns-frozen-btc-after-user-promises-not-to-use-coinjoin

Transaction In or Out there is a simple solution for that. To add hops to the transactions Tongue
(at least 6, 12 is better against something/someone with a lot of resources to analyze, a government for example). They're far to be able to find a solution after this
2769  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-06-09] Now you can buy a Coke with bitcoin on: June 09, 2020, 07:29:06 PM
Always the same thing with companies implementing BTC, they don't take Bitcoin directly, they use 1 or 2 3rd party. Better than nothing but we can't really call this "acceptance", at least from their side.

By the way, we can't read the article you posted since we need to pay to subscribe. Roll Eyes

And to add, the buyers need to use the Sylo smart wallet https://www.sylo.io/wallet/ to pay the vending machine
2770  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Garage Sale, Kijiji and Taxes in Canada on: June 09, 2020, 06:25:39 PM
The value it was when you got it doesn't matter. What matter is the day you sold it (so CA$ with your example)

- You got paid on 1st January 1BTC ($8000/BTC the day of the payment)
- You sell it on 31 December (1BTC/$10000) and transfer $10k to your bank account

You need to report $10k, not $8k

Removed.
I wanted to wait a few days because I didn't know since when the site was down and considering it could be a maintenance or something like that. Even with Tor, I'm unable to access the site.
RIP this website...

No, that's not the reason. It's fine if you just come to post your website news without looking to discuss with other members, even if it's sad considering we're on a discussion board, not a bookmarking website.

But it should not stop the person to follow the rules and post in the appropriate place. Personally, each time I reported the user it was for posting something unrelated to Bitcoin directly. If he started to explore a little more the forum he could find the appropriate boards to post.

I do admit the news posted are total shit.
Shit shit shit...
That's why I posted this topic last year and you can see I was mentioning Coinidolnews as an example

It really is stuff like this that keeps me on the few boards I do spend time in, and really not venture out into some other ones.
The crapfest that goes on with users never getting banned just makes you shake your head and go back to the Development & Technical Discussion board.

Stay safe.

-Dave

The Press board isn't so active and bad apples are everywhere but it's one of the rare places where you can get a decent discussion with dudes
2774  Local / Débutants / Re: Frais coinbase. Kraken on: June 07, 2020, 02:12:53 PM

We had differences in values of up to $1000 during the month. I still find that to be significant volatility, especially compared to the last months.

If it's about a massive rise, who thought it was going to happen? The newbies or the so-called analysts. With the precedents halvings, we know that it only happens over the next few months.

As for the economy to recover, it won't happen in 2020 (if we consider all countries generally speaking)
2776  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Garage Sale, Kijiji and Taxes in Canada on: June 07, 2020, 08:46:27 AM
Since it's not a 'regular' income or an investment you have nothing to report. It's like if you sell your t-shirt, you don't report the sale.
I'm not Canadian by the way so I may be wrong but it's how it should work logically.

If it works differently what matter is the difference between the price you bought the item (in CAD) and the price you sell the BTC at the market rate  (in CAD)
2777  Other / Meta / Re: Moderation of @CoinIdolNews constantly shitting in the Press board on: June 06, 2020, 08:53:50 PM
CoinldolNews newest Spam post in the press board that will be deleted very soon, a temp ban for this user to "chill" imo.

How does it help or contribute to the original post?
2778  Other / Meta / Moderation of @CoinIdolNews constantly shitting in the Press board on: June 06, 2020, 08:23:03 PM
What will it take to give a temp ban, or to do something to stop this? This user is constantly posting craps.  Moderator(s) can't say otherwise since 100% of his/her posts are deleted. But it doesn't stop him/her
It's like dogs, they shit on the street and act like if nothing happened.

When you have such a high ratio of deleted posts I believe it deserves moderation from another level. We're bored to report the posts again and again and again. I even stopped personally
2779  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: transferwise on: June 05, 2020, 04:12:44 PM
Transfers are final so you don't have the possibility to recall or dispute a payment but it's something else if the chargeback is initiated from another bank in which case Transferwise will have to complete its request.

If the buyer is also using Transferwise you're fine but other than that not really so my advice is to do Transferwise to Transferwise transaction

Europol, the law enforcement agency in the EU, for those who do not know, published a report about Wasabi and admitted it is too complicated
"Things are not looking good,” they say.  Cheesy Grin
Because it's difficult to 'demix' transactions...
