Real or Scam?
Man, this is why i ask this question. You only have to read the news to know, I´m selling right now at almost 62K per kilo intact horns and sections at 72K per kilo (average section is about .52 to .66 kg) I don´t sell powder.
If anyone is trying to sell at this ridiculous price is probably trying to scam you, and i repeat you can search for news in google and you´ll see my prices are the right.
Anyway my material is black rhino horn pure keratin hunted in Namibia. I have three in the US right now:
---82cm (32 inch) and 5.435 kg at 330K US dollars
---52cm (20.3 inch) and 2.918 kg at 180K US dollars
---37.3 cm (14.5 inch) and 2.188 kg at 135K US dollars
I will do sections for the smaller one, and the extra cost is because for me is more difficult to sell it in this way.
I only accept bitcoins, and of course accept full escrow.
I also can work outside full escrow, in 50% upfront and two bitcoins payments, or 20% bitcoins in first, and silver or gold in second.
The horn or section can be shipped to an address or to a drop point. If you are in NY, i suppose you´ll have it in three days tops once the payment is done.

 When I said 'any way to export the list', I meant a nice and round button to click and download a file, or, a JSON response. If not, well, I'll go ahead and code a script for this task. And since I don't need the list for at-least the next 2 weeks, I though about asking that and save some time. Mark all --> Copy --> Paste in Excel --> Save as CSV and that's my non developer solution. Edit: Ohh, what the... I mailed you the csv |

Although increasing it to the max. needed would make it impossible for the average user to run a full node. So increasing it would only be feasible as soon as a significant amount of Web-servers are running full nodes. If Bitcoin grows to the point at which it is handling that many transactions per second the "average users" will be businesses. Currently these businesses are collectively spending hundreds of billions of dollars to move money around, so if they switch to bitcoin and spend just 1/10 of their previous costs on mining there will be plenty of resources available to solve the problem. I concur, I only wanted to lay out, why we have to go this way in little steps. Right now the Network is still depending on Users to be Full Nodes, so it is necessary to ensure there are no more transactions in a block, than a normal internet connection can handle. This may change in due time and than the blocksize restrictions can be lifted. Let's assume an average rate of 2000tps, so just VISA. Transactions vary in size from about 0.2 kilobytes to over 1 kilobyte, but it's averaging half a kilobyte today.
That means that you need to keep up with around 8 megabits/second of transaction data (2000tps * 512 bytes) / 1024 bytes in a kilobyte / 1024 kilobytes in a megabyte = 0.97 megabytes per second * 8 = 7.8 megabits/second. Currently the Blocksize limit allows for about 7tps. |

Leider ist Bitcoin-24 von mir nicht zu empfehlen. Keine ausreichender Schutz gegen DDoS-Angriffe mit dem Resultat dass die Seite entweder down ist oder Stunden (in meinen Fall 6 Stunden) braucht die gekauften Bitcoins mal auszuzahlen. Will jetzt nicht unnötig schlecht machen, aber wer in Erwägung zieht per "Sofortüberweisung" einzuzahlen sollte bei dem sofort (+Gebühren) eher Vorsicht nehmen. Hab schon empfohlen eine geringe Gebühr zu erheben um den Schutz zu verbessern, aber die Begründung, dass es sich um ein no-profit Unternehmen handelt und ansonsten Steuern fällig wären kann ich verstehen. Trotzdem ist die Seite nicht zu empfehlen wenn man schnell ein paar Bitcoins braucht.

Wenn dich die Wartezeiten stören, versuch doch mal MTGox, wo du Wochen auf deine Kohle warten darfst. Schneller als hier bin ich noch nirgends an Bitcoins gekommen. |

The S&P 500 busted through the 1,500 mark this morning. Stocks haven’t been this expensive since 2007…right before they got a whole lot cheaper…for a whole lot longer. Gold, meanwhile, dipped a tad. This, despite central bankers of the world goading it on, promising to dilute the value of their respective paper currencies against the Midas Metal. Befriend the dips.
And what about bitcoin? Wait…what is bitcoin??
Why, it’s a speculation, of course; a dark horse, beloved by anarchists, ne’er-do-wells and fringe-dwelling lunatics, the kind of people you wouldn’t invite over for tea with your mother-in-law. It is the fascination of the ill-adjusted, the oddly-mannered, the heterodoxical hedonist. Solarzellen und Windräder (und evtl. auch Biogas) können bei ausreichender Weiterentwicklung die Stromversorgung dezentralisieren.
Zufallsstrom, verbunden mit Umwelt-Verschandelung? Nicht mein Ding. Es gibt bereits vielverspechende Ansätzt wie man die Stromerzeugung stabiliseren kann. 1. Wasserstofftanks: Durch den "Zufallststrom" wird aus Wasser Wasserstoff gewonnen, der dann bei Bedarf per Brennstoffzelle wieder genutzt wird um konstant Strom zu erzeugen. 2. Elektoautos: Wenn wirklich Elektroautos kommen, könnten ihre Energiespeicher genutzt werden um das Netz zu stabilisieren. Diese hätten genau die richtigen Eigenschaften: hohe Kapazität, schnelle lade und Entladefähigkeit. Sie müssten nur per Software konfiguriert werden, nicht nur zu laden, sondern bei Bedarf auch Strom an das Netzt abzugeben. ich weiß zu wenig über die Libaralisierungsagenda der EU in Bezug auf Wasser und auf der Seite gibt es keine Informationen wie diese denn aussieht. Hm... wie könnte die wohl aussehen? Vermutlich wird es strafbar Gratiswasser (Regen, Quellen, Brunnen) zu nutzen. Es gibt bereits kein Gratiswasser mehr. Wenn du z.B. Regenwasser nutzt musst du darauf Abwassergebühren zahlen. (Kein Kommentar notwendig, hierzu habe ich wahrscheinlich die gleiche Meinung wie du.) |

Ich frag mich jedoch auch immer, was ich denn noch machen soll ... alle reden immer von Strom sparen. What? Wir leben hier zu zweit in der Wohnung und haben einen Stromverbrauch, welcher auf allen Portalen und im Schnitt für eine allein lebende Person angegeben wird! Wo soll ich denn noch mehr sparen? Überall LED/Energiesparlampen ... Laptops anstatt PCs ... und und und ... Klugscheißer die  Noch nicht kapiert? Die Fixkosten und Nebenkosten steigen auch wenn weniger verbraucht wird. D.h. je mehr gespaart wird, desto teurer wird der Strom. Daneben werden inzwischen auch noch die Subventionen für Grossverbraucher (Energieintensive Industrie bezahlt 5 c/kWh) umgelegt. Wer Strom aus erneuerbaren Quellen bezieht muss zur Strafe nun doppelt zahlen. Ein umgehen der Monopolisten wie beim Bitcoin ist beim Strom leider etwas schwierig/teuer, wenn man nicht gerade die Gartenhütte als Referenz nimmt. Ich persönlich hoffe ja, dass sich durch neue Technologien im Sektor Strom einiges tun wird. Solarzellen und Windräder (und evtl. auch Biogas) können bei ausreichender Weiterentwicklung die Stromversorgung dezentralisieren. Jeder, der ein eigenes Grundstück hat kann zum Stromanbieter werden. Noch Utopie, aber generell in greifbarer Nähe. Nachher würde ich dieser komplett zustimmen. Den restlichen Punkten stimme ich zwar zu, aber sauberes und günstiges Wasser als Menschenrecht ist derzeit leider nicht durchsetzbar. Des der einzige realisierbare Punkt auf dieser Agenda ist der Ausschluss der Wasserversorgung von der EU Libaralisierungsagenda. Ich kann mir vorstellen, dass der ganze Rest nur ein "schlechtes Gewissen" Lockmittel ist um Unterschriften gegen eine ungeliebte EU-Richtline zu sammeln über deren Inhalt überhaupt nicht informiert wird. (Korrigiert mich falls sie das doch tun, dann hab ich es einfach nicht gefunden). |

It is very debatable if it will ever scale up 1000-fold.
Theoretically, the free-market transaction fee model will help relieve saturation in the blockchain. I don't believe Satoshi specifically intended Bitcoin would always be conducive to microtransactions. Does that mean we must follow Satoshi's footsteps? Can Bitcoin not be expanded to include support for microtransactions indefinitely? I would argue that within 20-30 years, 1000-fold scaling will be completely possible and practical. I think so too, from a bandwidth standpoint it would already be possible for the network to handle the same amount of transactions that visa does (2000 per sec.) the limiting factor is the max. of the Block size. Welchen FPGA ist da am Besten?  Und gibt es einen Miner oder muss ich da was selber coden? Thx+MfG Cee Da bin ich nicht der Profi, ich mine nicht (mehr). Es gibt einige Unternehmen hier die behaupten jeden Moment einen spezialisierten ASIC miner raus zubringen. Das würde GPUs und FPGAs schlagartig unprofitabel machen. Du kannst bei diesen Firmen die bereits einen ASIC Miner vorbestellen. Aber lass das besser, bisher haben sie noch keinen geliefert. Wenn er den Raus kommt, wäre es wohl so einfach wie anschließen und losminen. Bei den FPGAs ist dass auch ungefähr so, kostet neu aber so um die 1000€ ohne eine realistische Chance soviel jemals wieder einzunehmen. Meine Meinung: Kauf dir einfach direkt Bitcoins, lohnt sich mehr. Selbst wenn der Bitcoin Preis wieder einbricht bekommst du sie immerhin wieder los, dein ASIC wollte dann keiner mehr. |

The probability of a double spend under that scenario is essentially nil. Bitcoin doesn't need to be 0% fraud it just has to have a transaction cost (equipment, fees, fraud losses, etc) that is lower than the alternatives.
Nobody is going to attempt to double spend fast food purchases.
1) It is low value, hard to control/time, and in person.
2) Even if you and another party did try to engage in a simultaneous spend fast food isn't "instant food" it takes what 1-2 minutes from the time you pay until you receive the food. Anything longer than 15 seconds and the probability of a non-finney double spend is essentially zero. Most likely the merchant will leave the implementation details to a payment processor. The payment process would use the time between payment and delivery to look for double spend attempts.
3) If you want free food it would be easier to just use a stolen credit card. When is the last time you were asked for ID or even had you sign a receipt when getting fast food?
Now Imagine the following: There is an automate of any kind, lets say a coke automate. I want a cold coke, I press the coke button and immediately a QR-Code is displayed. I scan it, click on send and my coke drops out. There would no money need to be stored on the automate, hell it wouldn't even need to have the private keys. But especially for applications like this, there would be a double spend app for your phone in no time. |
