2761  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is it trust system abuse to increase Trust Score by Dabs? on: July 08, 2022, 09:14:11 PM
Note that theymos still has Dabs on his Trust list.
So what? His trust list also includes those who support the war in Ukraine.
Theymos is free to add / remove anyone in his trust list same as us. Just because he is the admin does not mean everything he does should be a guaranteed practice. Theymos never told us to follow him. In fact, he wants us to have our own inputs and changing the trust setting from old version to the new version reflects the idea. Before it was centralized and only selected few users were in the DT1 picked by the admin. The current trust algorithm is obviously better than we had it before.

One change might make it nearly perfect if we consider the proposal we have discussed on the topic created by DireWolfM14. We need at least more than one net inclusion. Higher number is better though. This will protect the DT spam we currently have and situations like Dabs inclusion can be avoided.
2762  Economy / Reputation / Re: Some mo-fo is tryin' to hack my ass. on: July 08, 2022, 06:02:31 PM
I did not receive PM from newalias, I did not receive any password reset email, all these means that I am a boring user 🤣. I feel left out now. Is it bad or good? 😉

This is the first time something like this has happened to me since I've been a member.  Yikes.
I have gone through the worst. Motherfucker hacked my account but it was theymos and the recovery team who were really helpful to recovered my account. They were unexpectedly quick. There were times when you had to wait months even years to get back the accounts.
2763  Other / Meta / Re: weird pm received on: July 08, 2022, 05:49:34 PM
I couldn't resist Cheesy I set this as a secret question (with a very long random string as answer), but after that, the answer showed an empty field and the why is this blank? link showed "disabled". So I got nervous and wiped it again.
It's safe not to set it up. If it locks the account and do not help to get recover the account then the feature is not helping at all. It's without any purpose and better to disable it.

He can do it, but it must be more than 24 hours from his first post. But for this one, just report one post to the moderators so they can merge the post if the user ignores your suggestion.
I know he can but this is not a service thread in marketplace so I did not think it was worth mentioning. The discussion is not old too. Many users are still making their posts. It was assumable that in few hours we will have more comments.
2764  Other / Meta / Re: weird pm received on: July 08, 2022, 01:58:22 PM
newalias, the forum rules prevent you to post two response in a row.

I dont see a problem with this statement. This means there is some trick* AND I would discuss it with the most trusted person being in charge. This implies that I will not speak with anyone else or sell the trick to bad guys.
No, this was not the threat. It was okay for users.

Quote
Please get back to me stating how you improved account security
I would say for THIS users felt threaten. You said to get back to you and you said it in PM which was concerning for them. Assuming you had good intention but in the forum we are designed to feel threaten when something comes from a new account. We have been gone through some hacks and phishing attacks are regular things.

I hope others see the same that I realized after paying better attention to your PM.
2765  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM EXCHANGE: Openchange (Openchange.cash) (PARTIALLY SOLVED) on: July 08, 2022, 01:32:20 PM
Just wondering, if user bother to provide evidence they use ChipMixer (or other mixer),
Tracing back an input if I find an address has 0.xxx bitcoin then it could consider that it came from chipmixer since their minimum amount is 0.001 BTC with 0.001 BTC increments. But a single bitcoin user can create the same cheap and then spend it which will look like they are coming from chipmixer. Ideally, there are no valid way which will find out 100% that it came from Chipmixer.

Off - topic: Has anything wrong with ChipMixer clearnet?
Quote
Due to recent events ChipMixer is available only on Tor network.
2766  Economy / Reputation / Re: A violation of agreement by Bitsler, on: July 08, 2022, 10:56:05 AM
I asked for the reward, BTC to be sent to my Wallet they refused. Gave me a gold chest instead which in my own experience of opening VipChests would be $2.50 worth of whatever currency it will draw, so I said I'd rather have the promised BTC as wisely advised by a friend.
I can't believe that I had spent few minutes to read the entire thread including the screenshots which are too small to read, lately I have some problems seeing small objects.
All of these only for $2.50 and you asked them to fix the username (not to display). It could have a better finish. Are you real for sure? You also decided to create a flag and asking opinion from yours in the case. We really need to stop complaining for everything that comes on our way on reputation board including scam accusations.

I do not support nor oppose the flag. There are no need for it at all. $2.50 🤣

Yes, I believe it is the best the OP can do in light of the facts.
Read the emails attached (too small to read) but it explains everything.
2767  Other / Meta / Re: weird pm received on: July 08, 2022, 10:31:04 AM
I had a chance to read the whole PM with a cool mind, paid full attention and without been biased. When a PM comes from a lower rank member we usually think something is not right. It's the forum experience that led us to have this suspicious mind.

Read the PM posted again but without considering followings lines
Quote
Please get back to me stating how you improved account security. If I do not get a reply, I need to inform board administration for our all safety.
Quote
Captcha is useless as I use some trick I will only discuss with theymos.
This is what happened to me when I read get back to me. The moment I read it, I had in mind that this is it, this user was trying to get information from OP and other users.

Read the full PM again. It seems the user's native language is not English. Some choices of words clearly tells that he used translator to pick the words. Yes I agree with buwaytress some words sounds offensive. But I feel that this was not an intent to get something bad from it.

The user asked you to get back to him, could be to suggest you to remove the secret question. If you do not then he will inform theymos so theymos can consider to remove the security question feature entirely for the safety of DT member. It seems he thinks DT members are the ones who need to stay safe so his all effort were to be sure DT accounts are safe.

They only sent the PM to those who had security questions turned on. Somewhere theymos also said that it is not recommended to use security questions because it locks your account and some other hassles when you try to recover the account.
2768  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1xbit is a scam betting site, DO NOT ENTER!! on: July 08, 2022, 10:08:19 AM
the standard should be casinos should record and make public their number of winners and their biggest winners and biggest cash out because that's one big way to establish their reputation.
Legally they are not liable for an open audit. When it's a Crypto gambling site then 100% they are taking the opportunity to keep everything behind open place. However if a casino wants then they can make their users betting history and other reports public, not showing the full username but hiding out the some characters. It sounds very transparent but if a casino have bad intention in mind they still can change the data to create a fake reputation.

But it does not make sense that when a casino is in profit then why will they think of not paying their users. An unsatisfied customer can spread the bad experience to 10, from 10 it become 100. Eventually casino is losing their clients. Considering the reputation 1xbit has now, I have no idea why even they consider the forum for their advertising place? I do not think they are not in profit or they would not be able to spend millions in so many advertising platforms.
2769  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM EXCHANGE: Openchange (Openchange.cash) (PARTIALLY SOLVED) on: July 07, 2022, 11:28:07 PM
Would you be able to explain why you decided to return the stolen 10% to the victim?

Was it because of the negative publicity the whole drama brought and you were worried about long lasting damage to your Open Changebrand or was it something else?

Were you really going to return those funds to the victim if this issue was not escalated here in the forum?
Let's have an imaginary answer of your questions.

Quote
Was it because of the negative publicity
Yes - we do not know if it was really yes
No - we do not know again if he is telling the truth

Quote
you were worried about long lasting damage to your Open Change
YES/NO - whatever it is, how will you verify?

Quote
was it something else
Again YES/NO is not verifiable.

Quote
Were you really going to return those funds to the victim if this issue was not escalated here in the forum?
YES/NO is not relevant again.

It does not matter why they decided to return 10%. What matter is, they did. We should learn to leave something and let it go once solved.

Good decision, but you need to make some changes in your website, so it things like this won't happen in future.
This is more practical. At least it's suggesting an action to take.
2770  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1xbit SCAMMED MY 6500 USD on: July 07, 2022, 09:28:09 PM
Isn’t that casino unlicensed?
A lot of crypto casino do not have license or just have CURACAO licensing. Many users really don't care to contact the licensing provider i guess because they do not want to go and file a case to reveal their identity. Since crypto payments are not reversible they can not report the merchant too for a refund. It's one of the benefit crypto casinos enjoys unfortunately.

Quote
Idk why anyone would play there
Anonymity is one of the good reason including many others.
2771  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1xbit SCAMMED MY 6500 USD on: July 07, 2022, 07:35:38 PM
A social media post campaign might be a good start to exposed this scam exchange. We just need to make it trend so that the public can see what’s the cause.
Still one will need a lot of FREE time to invest. 1st you need to check every users in the forum and anywhere else who were victim of 1xbit. This will take you a long time. Once you have xxx number of users then launch a social campaign, maybe a Facebook and twitter page. Give efforts to viral a hashtag together to make awareness. It's just a lot of work to do and patience is needed too. It sounds impossible but it is doable.

Finding all the victims and collecting their contact could be a good start. Question is who will take this project and give his free time for this non-profit initiative?
2772  Other / Meta / Re: PSA: Do NOT use the insecurity misfeature of a “secret question”. #getagrip on: July 07, 2022, 06:41:31 PM
Check the username. Does it remind you the user alia?

Roll Eyes

Get a grip.  No other way to say this:  That is ridiculously stupid.
Yes, I may be stupid but how are you so sure 🤣

Luckily I'm not a DT member, so that damn user didn't target me for that weird PM.  Cheesy
I have not received the PM yet which means I am not in DT too 😉? My bet, the user is targeting people with some other criteria not just a DT.

2773  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nitrogensports (Nitrobetting) are scamming, beware. on: July 07, 2022, 05:22:46 PM
Okay, so they banned my account and reset my balance to 0, but then over the time i've accumulated some money through my affiliate earnings which they refuse to pay me out as well.
You can have problem with any casino anytime. Nitrogen sports should have a story from their side too. We would like to hear it. Have you deposited any money with them? If you do then please feel free to post any transaction ID. I have seen in many cases casino offers to return the deposit.
2774  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1xbit SCAMMED MY 6500 USD on: July 07, 2022, 02:57:39 PM
All the victims should form a group and launch a class suit, 1XBIT have huge money to advertise and pay people they can continue to do what they are doing.
Unfortunately it seems not realistic to me. The only possible way will be someone to start a massive campaign against them. It will obviously need a fund. Someone who is responsible and trusted can monitor the campaign / project. But I do not think anyone will be much interest to do so, even a lot of gamblers are fine to lose their hard earned money.
2775  Other / Meta / Re: weird pm received on: July 07, 2022, 10:03:38 AM
Check the username. Does it remind you the user alia? A girl back in 2017 - 2018. She was having everyone's attention. Then caught on planning for scam before resting in peace. Someone is having fun.

You are not the only one. Just "Report to Admin" the PM and they will take care of this.
I do not see she is ban yet.
2776  Other / Meta / Re: Curious Question about Meriting on: July 06, 2022, 10:58:01 PM
When I first joined this forum back in 2011, tipping with Bitcoin was fairly common.  I've both sent and received many tips for Bitcoin posts.  Before everyone had signature campaigns littering their signatures, users used to place their Bitcoin address.  It wasn't as stingy as only tipping people who helped educate you either.  I've sent and received bitcoins for funny jokes, or just thanks for being a grounded person.  Over the years we saw less and less tipping, and now it is basically nonexistent.  I think the rising transaction costs with the block wars pretty much brought an end to tipping.  Back near the end of 2011, you could tip someone a BTC with no transaction fee and it was a $2 cost.  By the end of 2017, you'd have paid a $75 transaction fee just to tip a satoshi.  Hence why Bitcoin went from being billed as a p2p currency to a store of value.  Now nobody sends each other anything, but number go up.
Let's create an ICO and make all these merits tokens. Let's have an open marketplace to exchange your merit for bitcoin. 🤣

Back in the days Bitcoin did not have the value it has now. It was fun to send and receive bitcoin. Now it is serious money and no one wants to give it for free. Gavin Andresen had a captcha solving site and you could earn as much as 5 btc from the faucet LOL
It was easy to get bitcoin back then.
2777  Other / Meta / Re: Guest safety on: July 06, 2022, 10:46:27 PM
Guests and visitors are not the entire www.
You took it too seriously. I don't think even Facebook reached to the entire world wide web even though these days internet means having a Facebook account. Every website has their targeted audience and community. What I wanted to say that we do not need to take care of visitors who are not our members. A guest could be anyone. We do not know their interest. This is an open discussion place. Anyone who has interest in Bitcoin can see discussions about bitcoin and related topics without even registration.

If anyone needs to know about a service then they can go to the places which were designed to get information. There are review sites, resolution sites who are providing specific service to the visitors. Let them go there. We do not need gamblers to check the users rating, we need bitcoin enthusiast.

users with the signature will not have any flags or warnings about them promoting a scam project.
We accept it. To adopt with the system you can create flags against those users who are advertising the scam. If there are no scope to create a flag then let it go. We are giving too much attention to some scammers.

I am convinced that the majority victims of 1xbit are not members of this forum. I came to this conclusion because even if you spend only but a week in this forum, you should be able to know that 1xbit is a scam company.
The majority users who get scammed by 1xbit do not even know about the forum until they get scammed and try to find a place to compliant.
2778  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bounty manager JerZei : starts a new bounty campaign about the scam Partyland on: July 06, 2022, 08:45:31 PM
The Bounty manager has been alerted about this scam and the scam accusation topic has been sent to him so he can cancel the campaign. But he decided despite all the proofs to keep it running after deleting the messages proving it's a scam.

Very unprofessional bounty manager. I don't advice anyone to deal with.
A brand new copper member which means this is not a BM who has experience of work and regularly launching bounty campaigns. Most possibly this is one of their internal employee who decided to create an account and started the bounty.

In both case, hunters should stop participating in their campaigns. But they still are even when they are aware of the problem..
The hunters are not even reading the forum. They post proof of authentication and start shilling in social media.
2779  Economy / Reputation / Re: Announce your rank up, merit or any achievements that makes you feel great! on: July 06, 2022, 02:03:27 PM
well I got the name during my NYSC camping, and ever since then I stick to it because I really like the name. Then when I wanted registering I just feel like to use it, Hope the bigdaddy you know doesn't remind you of any bad thing.
Nothing wrong with Big Daddy. My memory is telling me we had a user name "Big Daddy". I did some forum search too to find him. I was sure I was going to find from the search very easily. But the search result brought me "big_daddy" which I was not expecting.

I sent a PM to the user.
hey brother,
Are you the same guys who is Big Daddy on the poker series we used to play? Your username seems changed or I have lost some part of my memory LOL

It's confusing because on the Poker thread a lot of us were also mentioning him as Big Daddy. I am expecting him to change his username to big_daddy.
You will find it in this sheet : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oMSdjVzxPn_RxaujN0a---hv8gL274Kk4-wSdLEtIM8/edit#gid=0
2780  Other / Meta / Re: Guest safety on: July 06, 2022, 01:41:33 PM
Why are people that do not register on this forum not seeing the positive, neutral and negative trust of registered users on this forum when they are able to see their signature and avatar?
I certainly do not understand why, and I'll prefer that guests do not see signatures or avatars as well, except maybe, the forum ad.
We are pressing it too hard.
This is a forum. Not a review site nor a scam hunting site or a site who separate wrong from right on the internet.
It is just a forum. Flag, trust score etc are just some features to help the community members. We do not need to care about the entire world wide web ☺️

Trust score helps only when a user wants to trade with another user. It's visible on reputation, service such type of boards. The flag works the same and it's absolutely fine for me.

But if anyone puts a gun on my head and ask give me idea to improve then I will be telling the following.
For flag I can think of the same warning on the user's profile page.
On the profile we can show the default trust score.
Anyone interested to check more, then let them register.
