2761  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Formula 1's Crypto.com Sponsor Is Falling Apart on: October 12, 2022, 12:44:50 AM
It seems that they simply took too much and haven't prepared that market will go down that much. When I started to see their ads on all major sports like NBA, NHL, F1, EPL and etc, I was surprised that they have such deep pockets because advertising there cost huge money. Their 20 years deal with arena in L.A. summarize it very well. Everything is fine as long as things in market goes as they planned, but now things doesn't looks so positive.
P.S. OP or admins, please move this topic to Bitcoin Discussion, it has nothing related to gambling.

Their arena should be able to provide funds for them to survive this current crisis. They should be using it for the exhibition fights and gain profit including the PPV.

People not coming out of the house due to covid is helping esports to grow more than going physically to motorsports and car races. It's fun but people are saving because of the high prices.

Arena doesn't belongs to them. Crypto.com just bought naming rights, they won't earn anything from it. Such advertising will cost them $700 million for 20 years.

I see. All for the marketing, they bought a right to rename for $700M. It's just like what @dothebeats said they've built their project heavily focused on ads but not the project itself. I have no idea what goes on with crypto.com, all I know is you can stake thier token in the exchange itself and earn from it. After that, they are already going for ads like being on UFC shirts.
2762  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why speculate when you can be at peace with Bitcoin on: October 11, 2022, 02:40:07 AM
One of the things I hate most is speculations and I try as much as possible to avoid an entry that will make me speculate on the price of Bitcoin, so at that, I try as much as possible to have an entry price that will make me look away from the market for a long time and just be at peace holding my bitcoin in my wallet.
Knowing fully well that with Bitcoin I have the best alternative currency to spend at any time without any third-party involvement like the bank.

Trying to find an entry price is a kind of speculation actually. Some of us are just using indicators to find that entry point. But it's all the same. Finding the right entry however is the most difficult. People see what they wanna see and sometimes they think it's the bottom already but it's still not because it keeps dipping.

2763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 12 years ago this man was accused to be Satoshi on: October 11, 2022, 01:29:09 AM

Never really saw a thread about him being Satoshi despite me being in crypto for more than 5 years.

He doesn't look like a tech guy who can code but a member of a rock band. But he advocates privacy of course he will decline just as the real Satoshi would. There is nothing worth keeping for someone who has everything but privacy. You wouldn't want to live like the actors and actresses who keep hiding from the public and can't even go to a park to walk their dogs.

2764  Economy / Economics / Re: "The times ahead will be radically different from those that we've experienced". on: October 11, 2022, 01:09:04 AM
If there are new world orders, is it safe to say their goal is to conquer the world?

Has the world seen past conquerors who tried to achieve something similar? Alexander the Great. Genghis Khan. Napoleon. Etc.

To a degree, we might draw upon past history in an effort to put the present day world into its proper context. Empires rise and fall. People live and die. Bad ideas usually die off, having little real world application or value. While good ideas normally survive to define the future. The trouble with this line of progression is people forget history. They forget which ideas were good and which were bad. Which forces them to relearn through first hand experience. The generation gap prevents future generations from learning from their ancestors. Knowledge isn't transmitted as well as it could be.

Many of these topics come down to fundamental validity of ideas. People support ideas they believe are correct. Economic prosperity or recession occur as a result. If we're lucky people learn and make better choices in the future. That's all that we can do. Its our hope for the future.

Those conquerors didn't take it all to Asia or the whole world, it should be different this time because there are two superpowers joining forces against the west such as China and Russia.

Ray Dalio looked at the pattern in the past and how it could possibly happen again and it seems like we are there. It would be very devastating if US prefers war before its decline. It's best to just accept and develop the Isolated continent of America to establish the multipolar world order and NOT the new world order.
2765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Le'Veon Bell vs Uriah Hall - October 29th on: October 11, 2022, 12:23:11 AM
I don't know about you guys but I'm loving seeing these ex-pro athletes starting to get in to boxing. I think it's really helped revitalize the sport in a big way.
I have no problem with people going into boxing wherever they came from. My only issue is they get paid because of their popularity and not really on their boxing skills. There are many up and coming professionals that should be given more opportunities in the ring but these "guests" gets the spotlight which is kinda unfair.
That's true, true boxing followers would like to see real boxers square in the ring than people who just bank on their name to make money in an industry where they don't belong, are we lacking good fights that people are patronizing exhibitions from non-boxers, this has been going on for a few years now unless real boxers knock out the Paul brothers, until then people will stop watching this trend in boxing.

So these world class athletes don’t belong in boxing? Why not? That’s a silly statement. No one if forcing you to watch these matches. Not to mention in particular guys like these two football players Bell and Paterson are legitimate amateur boxers who’ve been training for some time.

Not to mention this has been good for boxing in general. The sport has been hurting for a long time and this is brining a lot of attention to it.

These kinds of matches including what the Pauls did actually bring lots of thier fans into the boxing world. Just look at how NFL fans now realize boxing can be a good sport to learn not just football since this is a kind of martial art to defend yourself.

I find it entertaining actually but they got to have some special training the kind that boxers do. Because this is also a combat sport that can damage them, blocking jabs should be easy for them to learn.

2767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will You Support Casino Operated By The Bitcointalk Members on: October 10, 2022, 02:54:51 AM
The Betfury casino investors who own BFG tokens I think can be considered the owners of the casino and share the revenue with them. So yes There is no problem with forum members owning a casino as long as they didn't scam.

What is more problematic is if the casino doesn't have an account here where if a user post an accusation thread, no one will answer to it who represents the casino.
2768  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's next for cryptocurrency? on: October 10, 2022, 02:22:08 AM

Early next year I think most countries are going to launch thier CBDC, I guess that's what's next for crypto.
IMF was already up to regulate the crypto ecosystem globally which means they already realized banning crypto won't work. This regulation is coming probably along with CBDC.

If they are not banning crypto, then most probably we can buy crypto using FEDcoin.
2769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A painter received $50 worth of bitcoin on June 2013. on: October 10, 2022, 12:54:58 AM

It turned out, it was one the best painting job she did. It's also a good thing she still can access her blockchain.com account. People who didn't mind thier account since the early days forgot about it and recovering is difficult.

$50/BTC is the price of BTC in 2013. That's how fast the price had climbed to 2017. Waiting for 2025, she could get more than $60K.
2770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Strong Breakout for Shiba Inu in the short term? on: October 10, 2022, 12:35:19 AM
Don't hold your hopes so high. I don't think there will be a strong upward breakout in the short time, if it were to happen, it should have already happened with the news. right now the price is only hovering around $0.000011

It's very cheap for someone who believes Shib can go far from where it is now. If you could have billions of it and can wait up to more than 10 years while it's developing, I guess that's profitable still. Although it's too wishful thinking to see it happening in a short term, who knows the new generation of crypto newcomers are more of the meme guys and p2e lovers.
2771  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 09, 2022, 07:01:34 AM
I’m an admitted casual, but the next fight I’m looking forward to seeing is O’Malley vs Yan. I’ve been watching their older fights on YouTube and I think Yan is definitely a step up for Suga. I think this is the first time he’s going to be challenged and I’m not sure if he’s got the strength to stand up to Peter. This might be his first real L (the last one was eh).

They are both great fighters but after seeing the loss of Yan against Sterling with a split decision, I think he is getting slow.
Sugar can defeat Yan. He is taller and has the reach. Yan has to get closer to hit Sean and it is when a mistake will turn into a defeat, possibly rear naked choke if not KO by a head kick.
2772  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin a top player in Libertarian Government on: October 09, 2022, 06:03:34 AM

No government is a Libertarian government. People will subdue if they feel happy and content if the government is providing for the people. There will be no need for forcing people to pay taxes if they are happy. But if it's spent on a useless war that also affects our lives, it's no surprise people will not pay the electric bills and pay no tax.

Crypto anarchy I guess is only a finance revolutionary movement in which the government may really have to give up this control because crypto is not theirs to regulate.
2773  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: October 09, 2022, 01:58:11 AM

Is the fight over? I can't find this match on stake or on sportsbet. Where are you betting on this fight?

I've watched the previous fight, it was a slugfest so there must be something they've planned for this rematch. I go over youtube and there are already lots of Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas 2 videos to hype it.

2774  Economy / Gambling / Re: The History Of Gambling. on: October 08, 2022, 08:58:19 PM
Compared with offline Casino and online Casino that requires KYC, I think offline or land-based casino gives more anonymity and privacy to a gambler than an online casino that requires KYC.  The reason why I think land based casino is much more anon and private is because the securities of land base Casino don't ask us to submit KYC or present ID when we are playing at their establishment.  Except of course for some special cases,
The special case here is that whenever one wins a big gamble or gets a jackpot he has to compulsorily do KYC in the casino. Be it land based or online based. Because a gambler with large payouts needs different information not only for the casino but also to follow different government regulations of that country. However, land-based casinos usually offer more opportunities than online casinos. I agree with you that land base casinos are safer for gamblers than online casinos.

I've not been in a traditional casino for a long time but afaik they are already asking for IDs before a customer can go inside. But the fact that your face is seen and you are on thier cameras the whole time, that's not being anonymous. Every one is checked whenever you go inside a building. A person with a young-looking face will be asked to present an ID. If you are a regular gambler I guess the guards can just let you.

In the wild western movies which I think also show history where card tables are inside the salon or a whorehouse, people have to surrender thier weapons before going inside. That's kind of a KYC.

2775  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Namibia Now Accepts Bitcoin As Payment on: October 08, 2022, 04:24:41 AM
Central Africa and Nigeria had been adopting Bitcoin already, I guess the rest are just following what the largest economy in the continent is doing. They can work together for crypto to work for their benefit.

What I'm amazed actually is that IMF or any other finance agency is reacting to the adoption of crypto in this region while in El Salvador, the IMF wants the president to stop what he is doing. I was thinking maybe there is something they know that we don't. Smiley
2776  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Le'Veon Bell vs Uriah Hall - October 29th on: October 08, 2022, 02:40:19 AM

Good to see Jake really made a lot of attention to bringing new players from different sports to come into boxing. Uriah Hall is a very popular UFC fighter vs NFL Pro Le'Veon Bell is among the undercard will make more hype and also will show how an athlete is if signed under different sports. Might be inexperience and rusty but yes it's still fun to watch where speculators might have no idea who to bet.
2777  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does Trading Volume really matter ? on: October 08, 2022, 02:24:35 AM

I don't also watch the trading volume upon buying BTC but this is because we know, it has demand, and it's the top coin to invest.
Choosing altcoins must be different. The trading volume must have something to do with how big the community is and the demand for the token.

What does it mean if the volume of BTC drops significantly while we are in the bear market?
Is it time to invest because it could mean the bottom or people lose interest anymore?
2778  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is an economic recession bearish for the market? on: October 08, 2022, 02:06:15 AM
Two years of this crisis already made a lot of people go hungry and struggle from paycheck to paycheck. The last thing they have in mind is to buy some metal stocks or crypto when they know its price is not growing. They'd think of what is going on right now and they would prefer to buy bread. The bearish market will continue to be bear even on crypto. Unless the US starts lowering the interest rates, it may turn bullish.

If there are people who are investing these days, they are the ones who have tons of money and probably benefitting from the covid crisis.
2779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Currencies Privacy on: October 07, 2022, 05:30:32 PM

We have not seen a user yet in the forum who personally has crypto frozen in his wallet. If for instance, this happens, we can be assured freezing his tokens is specifically aimed at this user.

Probably, for now, we can only say keeping privacy is just us being too paranoid but if the government actually controls one big major exchange and can dig your data from the exchange, they probably can target each one. Yup too paranoid I guess.  Grin
2780  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Did Binance Just Make KYC Process More Private? on: October 07, 2022, 04:42:48 PM

Social security is the most private information, this is not going to end well for you if you provide this data. I don't think anyone is willing to give this up unless they are not aware of what it could do to them.

In any case, if you do not guarantee yourself that they will destroy the data once verified, they will keep it.

they will keep the information from KYC, that's for sure and they can justify it with good reasons. For example, if a specific country introduces a crypto ban, where they have to comply with that decision, how will they know which user comes from that country? An IP address cannot be 100% reliable info, and they certainly won't ask all users to re-KYC (to be deleted after all) after every similar change.

Every time users encounter some issues, they are going to ask for KYC once again. This I guess is just to verify your previous KYC doc if its matches still. They must be aware users are selling Binance accounts.
