2761  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Resolving .eth addresses on mobile devices? on: March 27, 2020, 10:28:30 PM
Unfortunately, I havent found a direct answer to your question anywhere so I decided to start trying to give it a try myself. It looks like Opera and Chrome do not accept the Peername extension so the only mobile app that lets you install it is Firefox (haven't tried Focus iet but I guess it doesn't work over there). However, I can't find anywhere a ".eth" website to test it out?

I currently have the Firefox Peercoin Add-On installed on my phone but no domains for testing purposes. I've seen that Vitalik has changed his Twitter name to "vitalik.eth" but apparently it does not establish connection to any website if I try it.
2762  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC HODLers are getting all the new technologies for free! Why? on: March 27, 2020, 08:05:58 PM
I have missed all BTC airdrops unfortunately. Sold my BTC for alts at the wrong time every single time a new airdrop came out. A few thousand more bucks wouldn't have sounded bad at all. Smiley

I remember this happened with BTX (BitCore) too. I still have a few thousands (bought, not airdropped) laying in my wallets. Unfortunately, the price dropped to an unimaginable level probably because of the lack of development. Now it's worth somewhere ~100x less than what I paid.

Investors put their money on these coins because they want to hold more. Example: holding 10BTC would have airdropped you 10BCH. If you compare the prices of these two, you'd have a good idea why 10BCH is nothing for someone who holds assets worth >$65k. Moreover, there are shitcoins like KICK that need a boost. Give people your coins for free to make them interested in your project => accummulate new fools.

I'd suggest adding whether KYC is needed or not for withdrawals in the OP. Smiley
2764  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Corona Virus has killed all cryptocurrency spaces! on: March 27, 2020, 09:54:04 AM
Oh well, right now almost everything is dead. I doubt anyone will buy the new phones of 2020, I doubt tech industries will make it very well through the entire year. So everything being dead means crypto projects and roadmaps will be somehow postponed for months. The crypto industry will be especially affected due to the fact that most devs are freelancers and they obviously want to protect their family at this time. The fate? Oh well, we just have to wait. Its fate will be shown when this demolition of stocks and jobs will slow down.

Cheesy

~
The crypto community won't. Everyone else will. And we all know the crypto community is way smaller than the rest. We're a minority and we sure as hell won't be able to change shit once they shape up this digital fiat as a supposed "cryptocurrency". It will probably be a system similar to the Blockchain so that as many as possible could be fooled and dragged in their trap. Control, control, control. Cheesy
2769  Other / Meta / Re: Lastest post on top of the thread on: March 26, 2020, 06:50:18 PM
I used to only reply to the last pages of threads without ever checking the OP or the first answers and it turned into a big mess. Without even willing, I had created spam because my idea was always already mentioned in the first page. Hence, I used to be known as a spammer and was wondering why the hell does nobody reply to my messages.

Now I'd rather read the first page (or at least the OP) and then go to the last page and read the last messages. This way I know that my idea isn't going to be a repeated one. Anyways, if you really want to go to the last page without having to go through the 1st one first, then follow the users above.
2770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: New suggestion for unpaid bounties on: March 26, 2020, 06:39:02 PM
How will this help combat the unpaid bounties? There are way too many, it's simply not worth the efforts of listing all of them out here. As soon as launching a project is completely free (or you can pay under $100 for the creation of a shitcoin), there will continue to be unpaid bounties and scams out here and they'll most likely always overcome the legit ones number-wise.

I've joined +10 bounties and I haven't been paid even for a single one yet. So yeah, the effort of thinking of all these bounties and listing them here just isn't worth it imo and doesn't help with anything. Bounties are mostly not paid because the "devs" are shit.
2771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What impact of printing a lot of money on inflation and Bitcoin on: March 26, 2020, 05:33:53 PM
The numbers are very scary indeed. I bet there are unofficial numbers too besides those you've mentioned.. I guess the impact overall is diminished through various ways so we don't feel it, when in fact the truth is horror.. hence the inevitable recession.

Bitcoin will most likely show the true change months after we're buried in this situation. Everything is too uncertain right now to know for sure which way we're going, but one thing is sure: the economy is collapsing. If Bitcoin gets to pass this first stage of the recession successfully, I'd personally expect a big positive change of Bitcoin's price.

On the other markets, I'm expecting exactly what happened to the Hungarian Pengo. Those who have missed buying some toilet paper will probably be able to use the dollar bills to wipe their ass because it's gonna be worthless. They're still trying to hide the real face of the economy, but you can already see it won't last much longer.
2772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The future of cryptocurrency during this pandemic on: March 26, 2020, 03:44:15 PM
All I can do right now "to support the community" is stay on here and keep believing in a future of crypto. The ideal situation is if some of the businessmen move to accepting only crypto, but how realistic is it? The future of cryptocurrencies is very uncertain but the current crisis is not going to stop me from believing in one. Worse or better, the fact is they aren't going to die and be gone forever.

Being under a forced lockdown (I've been under self-isolation for about a month now already) limits all my activities. There isn't much we can do other than just developing coins and projects and mentally supporting my friends. Smiley
2773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another crypto ban again? on: March 26, 2020, 09:53:11 AM
yeah it sucks, but why do we care again?
I mean their govs has somewhat influence on other countries, but overall I don't think that russia has big part of overall crypto market cap, so we shouldn't be bummed out
I care because if this becomes a trend countries follow, yours could be next and you'd be directly affected by it so would the prices of cryptocurrencies. It shows and proves me how scared they are of us at the same time though Cheesy
2774  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fake Corona Anti-virus software on: March 26, 2020, 09:41:10 AM
From the first link: "Your mobile device actively protects you against the Coronaviruses (Cov) while the app is running."

If a certain person actually thinks a mobile app can protect him/her from COVID-19 then I don't even know what to say.

I've seen videos of people saying only computers have viruses, not humans, so this doesn't surprise me at all. But I guess the same guys cannot use a damn Bitcoin if that's all the knowledge they have.

The fake website looks so good, damn it! If you aren't the type of person to download any shit off the Internet, then I don't even know why you'd need an antivirus. I haven't had one in years - whenever I tried to, it deleted and blocked all the important files, I swear..
2775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance charity launches with $1million donation. on: March 25, 2020, 08:56:32 PM
I appreciate these charities but tbh they should not be needed. Isn't this one of the reasons we've paid taxes for? Why do I have to send MORE money during a calamity when they've collected taxes "to protect us"? We should now have everything, or at least most of it, covered by what we've paid during our lifetime.
2776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Poetry on: March 25, 2020, 07:27:43 PM
I admire the your artistry on making this poem but I guess it is not a thing in here. You can't control the chaos with words.
I guess you just did this to get some merit but I don't find it interesting anymore and I'm pretty sure  you tried to do similar to this thread

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5235239.0

We are trying to get merits but for at the very least make a post that we're all going to benefit like news, crypto events etc.

Don't rely on the first thread that you have read coz you just got back. I don't mean to discourage you to put an effort for somethings else.

If you find poetry non-interesting, it does not mean you have to poop on this member's work. He's more than free to post their new work on here and I'm sure there are some who appreciate it.

There's a difference between using e.g. articles for merit-hunting and sharing your own work. For example, even if I would ever hunt for merit by continuing to do some of the scammer-hunting work I've done before for the forum (not the case, but saying it hypothetically), does that mean my work should be pooped on by people like you? Smiley

OP, nice work. If you like poetry, keep up with it. Would be very interesting if one day a poem about BTC will be studied in school or if a book about BTC would become a best-seller. Cheesy
2777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What happened to primedice.com and stake.com?? on: March 25, 2020, 06:29:14 PM
I believe they are a scam . I am writing a post about them . I also have this message after I won some coins and withdraw.
But this is a lie their website is perfectly working  (try to connect from tor )

Both websites are working flawlessly on my phone and both PCs without using Tor or VPN. I'm from Romania if you're wondering.

I would not accuse PrimeDice of scamming right away. They have not only the best community I've ever seen on a gambling website but also fast support and I've never felt like their mechanism is rigged in any way. I'm one of the guys who quit their gambling addiction on a positive balance and with some beautiful profit. Smiley
2778  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Yobit Scam Accusation megathread. "Normal" modus operandi or shady practices? on: March 25, 2020, 06:21:30 PM
I have been part of the YoBit signature campaign for about two days until Yahoo banned me from it for burstposting. That was a very good wake-up call and I thank him for it because that's when I also found the scam accusations against this exchange. Smiley

I've tried using YoBit for a while just for testing purposes. Keep in mind that I've made transactions worth a ton of money through different other exchanges a few years ago and I still know the mechanism of an exchange pretty well. If you're interested to hear my story, keep reading.

I participated in the non-existent YoDollars launch. This was a shady game from the start all the way 'till the end and I tried taking all their advertisement game down to 0 as much as possible.

In order to get the 700 YODA (and IIRC, they had a promotion for something like 400YODA/referral but I preferred not advertising this shithole to anyone), you had to do a lot of work. Mostly tweeting the shit out of the YODA scam so they could maximize the advertisement. Smart game, but I was able to fool it my own ways. Smiley

After a delayed launch of their YODA shithole, I have finally been able to receive my 700 YODA. But guess what: I did not receive it in my YoBit wallet. They put it in my InvestBox and I could only withdraw 1% of it per day, so I have actually only received 7 YODA a day instead of 700 at once. Anyways, I said that's fine - I can wait.. Next day, I wanted to withdraw 2 days at once (the first and the second), which accounted for somewhere around 14 YODA. As soon as I tried to withdraw, only 7 YODA were sent to my wallet because I had just found out (all by myself, no warnings anywhere) that if you do not withdraw once, your money will be non-withdrawable. Now I had 7 YODA sent to my wallet and 707 YODA sitting in my InvestBox. I said it's fine and I kept going..

Third day comes and I still have 707 YODA in my InvestBox. I had no more to withdraw and I was wondering what the hell is going on. I then found out I had to actually post an advertisement tweet in order to receive my shitty 7 YODA. Now I had to wait about 23h in order to receive my next 1%..

The following day, I still had 707 YODA in my account. I opened up a support ticket and asked them for my 7 YODA back because I had done exactly what I needed to receive it. The 7 YODA were then worth somewhere around 0.0003BTC so I asked them for that much BTC in case they solve the issue later when YODA is worth a satoshi. I still haven't received a reply to my ticket until today. After a quick look over my history of tickets, I found out I still have one open since 2019 which also has never been replied to.

In the following days I found a way to fool their tweet mechanism so that I would not advertise their shitcoin anymore but still receive my 1%. All went well except the fact that the coin kept losing value every single day. Weeks later, they changed the game: you had to play 10 Bitcoin Dice rolls EVERY DAY in order to receive your 7%. Because their minimum roll is 1k satoshis (or was it 10k?), considering today's YODA value of 150 sats, you will have to risk 0.0001BTC (0.001 if 10k was the minimum roll) EVERY DAY for something worth 0.0000105BTC. Where the fuck is the logic?

I would not recommend anyone this "exchange". It's not even an exchange, it's more of a give-us-your-money and advertise-us-for-free website. The ONLY thing I can positively say about them is that the withdrawals work but the fees are fucking high.

You'll be better off not using any exchange at all than going for YoBit. Smiley
2779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Use case ideas vs blockchain on: March 25, 2020, 04:11:12 PM
Right. But you can still help save life while working on projects or being in Crypto space without getting involved directly in solving the current crisis
If you are into development of decentralized marketplaces for example, you could switch to making the marketplace reachable to families affected by crisis or   focus more on creating solutions within the marketplace to help reduce the crisis.

We cannot all abandon the development of decentralized projects for something we are probably not qualified to handle. I think the commerce people call this division of labor. All people (wherever they work) should definitely channel their skills into creating solutions that can help solve the current problem in societies
I don't think there is any blockchain solution to what's going on right now. You cannot change a structure that's been ongoing for decades or even centuries. Blockchain is also new tech, so it's gonna be hard for others to accommodate to it.

The development of decentralized & open source projects obviously doesn't have to be stopped. I just don't think lives can be saved in any way through blockchain tech because the time is too short and for most countries it's already too late.
