TL;DRThe thread How do you handle stress? - Archive [ 1a] [ 1b] caught my eye the other day when three newbies with the same activity/post count/creation date posted one after the other following my own post. I've examined the ~70 newbies UID's who have posted in that thread and can see a distinct pattern of creation date, last active date as well as numbers of posts and UID's whose "wake up" or "banned" dates correspond with the other dates of the newer created newbies. It appears to me that the OP and all newbies who have contributed to that thread are a part of the one farm of alts - for want of a better name, they are the "handle stress" farm alts. The farmer is posting only a few times via each UID then allowing the accounts to hibernate building up as you can see four or five posts, then fourteen or fifteen posts and so on... There are five banned UID's so, if you can accept that these newbies are alts, then the farmer and their crop are guilty of ban evasion.
If anyone would like to expand on this investigation with constructive comments, they are welcome to do so here.

I was following this thread closely, but now the OP seems to have abandoned it and moved on. He has made some posts in the Turkish section of this forum, but no updates here for the last two months. From his updates for the 6 weeks up to January, I could see that he spent a total of €420 to purchase BTC0.015054. He should be in profit right now. As per the current exchange rates, the net worth of his coins stand at €612, which represents an increase of +46%.
Currently, BTC 0.015054 is valued at If the OP comes back, they might be interested to add the following BBCode to their first post and adjust the value accordingly... How do you handle stress?Like it was a hot potato. Smother it in butter and sour cream, sprinkle with salt, pepper chopped chives and devour ensuring you lick all the butter off of the plate... I somehow feel this answer could be misconstrued as NSFW yet again...

@bitterguy28 & @decodx
I always find that the best way to deal with stress (apart from the obvious) is to laugh at the situation and then move on. Comedy is a great way to overcome hardship and to give yourself balance and focus.

Once you have copy/verified the transfer of the bitcoin folder and it's entire contents onto an external hard drive with enough room, create a BAT file in the "BIN" FOLDER/DIRECTORY called bitcoin.bat using any notepad style program (not "office" or "open office" - I use NOTETAB PRO) add the following line of text: bitcoin-qt.exe -datadir=%~dp0 save, then double click on the bitcoin.bat file. The above line of code will tell your program that everything it needs is in that folder.
Having said the above, if you were starting from scratch, unzip the contents of the version 21.0 zip file into a new folder, then do the above steps. You can add the wallet.dat prior to first running the program, or, at any point after you shut the program down.
AND MAKE BACKUPS OF EVERYTHING & ANYTHING BEFORE YOU TRY ANY OF THE ABOVE!

I vaguely recall seeing a thread in this Forum two or three years ago called "The 21 Bitcoin Club" - IIRC a user had to own 21 bitcoins which nowadays would be worth BTC 21.000 which is valued at which isn't too shabby when you think about it.

Unless you can walk into a shop make a selection of goods, go to the counter scan their QR code and pay via Bitcoin (and the transaction is confirmed near instantly as is the case with the Lightning Network), then bitcoin's only real continued attraction will be with the speculative investors with a few thousand/million cash to spare that they don't mind parking for three to six months, then the novelty wears off and dump on the next unsuspecting investor.

Anyone feeling bombed out after trying to sleep should try getting a new pillow - even a very soft one. Stick with it as the change will alleviate the pressure on your neck at the shoulders.
Avoid four or less hours sleep and try getting back to six to eight hours sleep in one session. It's been working for me the last 18 months.

A couple of years ago I was involved in a project calculating square roots of specific numbers and pi (and other rather dense calculations) to 51+ billion places and similar. The data files run to 50 Mb (minimum) but need far more during the calculation stages (hence the 10 Exabytes would come in handy). I had an external 2Tb HD that was being used to give my PC (that crashed late last year) a leg up with storing the end results. You only need a PC's CPU and the ability to run the program for hours/days/weeks until you calculate the solution. I was posting the results (the hash at any rate) via my Twitter Feed and also via https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/embed-data/ into the block chain with the same data near simultaneously.

Hi all - Is there any update on how you're savings are going eucalyptus? Have you broken the spell and struck up again? I know all too well watching others around me trying to give up that it's not an easy task - we're here to chat if it's getting tough to quit.
How many € did you manage to save? Hopefully, you're seeing the rewards in terms of BTC saved.

I would set a goal of saving $50 every other week (or some value/timeframe that suits) and buy all year 'round - true you'll buy during highs, but you'll also strike the occasional lows. Even if the price plummets transfer the purchased bitcoins to a paper wall and wait a year or two (or longer).
You could also divvy up the purchased amounts into short/medium/long term HODLing's. e.g. 1 year/3 years/10+ years even if it's $30 broken into $10 chunks, the end reward will be worth it. BTCBTCBTC

With nearly 42 million users (and counting) Freebitco.in has recently announced they are using the FUN token (available for trade in house) to enable users to received added bonuses in the form of more spins of the wheel, cash back on high/low etc. I would suggest looking into it (follow the link in my signature). I think it's worth spreading your investment amongst a number of ventures. For a small outlay of bitcoin to make your initial purchase of FUN tokens and benefit as you play.
(Disclaimer: As you can see I am a participant in their Signature Campaign, however, they have no editorial control or expectations over my post content)

Some exchanges will arbitrarily drop a coin/token from their roster - users are given a certain period of time to withdraw their funds before the wallet is removed (some wallets will be put in cold storage, others, the wallet is just simply wiped. If an exchange has done it's job properly, they will have sent out an email warning of the impending removal. (Better ones more than one email).
Some wallets go "off line" due to no addnodes for an extended period - exchanges might just pull the plug and count their losses without warning.
These days with the number of hacks, thefts, exit scams and the like you really need to evaluate just how many coins you want to leave on an exchange (especially bitcoin hoping to buy a coin/token if/when the price crashes).

Thanks for the reminder, there's a few chores that have been building up over the last few weeks/months... Now that I'm able to tackle them once again I'd better get with it and cross them off of the list.

Hi, yes that's correct. I heard it on the radio while I was driving a couple of hours ago and have been trying to find a quote on an Australian news site concerning his comments about playing after the groin injury (in the Indian test tour)
