2781  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you stop calling Bitcoin an investment? on: July 28, 2018, 03:55:01 PM
If you should consider Bitcoin as an investment it's one about Bitcoin to be used as a form to protest against the current banking system and politic. I see humans will never be able to reach a consensus for the sake of the humanity. The ideology behind Bitcoin is just an utopia and will never get mass adopted so...

Given the choice of owning an inflationary fiat currency that your government is systematically devaluing or a decentralised deflationary currency, how would you rather store your wealth? I can't blame other people for making the same decision I have. I would rather have money that will hold or increase its value relative to others in the long-term than money that will diminish in buying power.

Not being able to redeem RPs that I've spent TWO YEARS saving up is really the last straw.

You still can redeem them just not for more reward points or lottery tickets. The bots were exploiting those heavily so they are now only available to those that meet basic requirements, not those just trying to maximise what they get for free.

freebitcoin.in USED TO BE a good faucet, but the recent changes appear designed with one and only one end in mind: to make it impossible to ever reach the magic 30,000 satoshi without putting in (and gambling away) your own money.

It's far from impossible and many people do it without depositing. But those that deposit and play get far more out of the faucet than those that don't

I feel exactly the same way and that is why I have decided to switch to 99bitcoins.

I'll miss your informative posts, bye bye.

When all other coins will add on freebitco.in?

It should be around the end of the year.

How to determine the best trends among cryptocurrencies in 2018
№ 1: Low price
If you want to make good money, it is best to pay attention to new coins worth less than a dollar, as cheap coins have more chances to grow. This is a good tactic for investors who do not want (or do not have) opportunities for large investments. By choosing this tactic, it is very important to spread the risks by investing in several cryptocurrencies, not one. Since you buy coins cheaply, there is a possibility that some of them will increase in price several times in a short period of time. and others, on the contrary, will fall. There are more than enough examples of rapid multiple growth in the cryptocurrency space.

№ 2: the possibility of using
While investigating the market, it is necessary to determine which coins will be most in demand. You need to choose those who are more likely to be used as money or perform other useful functions. Moreover, the best chances are cryptocurrencies that can provide users with something new. If the coin does not carry any unique features-it will be difficult to break through among the many similar forks.

№ 3: How many about it say
One of the main driving factors of the new cryptocurrency is the amount of noise created around it. The best place to test this characteristic is forums, Reddit and various cryptocurrency sites. Observe which currency is spoken more about and use this information in your research. And don't believe every word. Even widely advertised projects may not be what they seem, and in the long run, are likely to collapse.

№ 4: the Creators
Another factor that should be paid attention to is who created this cryptocurrency. If the development team is public and there are people known in the crypto - currency community, the chances of such a project are significantly increased. If the developers have not previously participated in crypto - currency projects or even are anonymous, and especially if the source codes of the new crypto-currency are not available-it should be treated with caution.

№5: dynamics of exchange charts
Undoubtedly, one of the main sources of information remain price and volume charts. It is necessary to pay attention to the charts with a stable growth of these indicators. If cryptocurrency periodically shows the vertices with the subsequent fall - she probably engaged in the manipulators, and the growth of real demand there.

Conclusion
When investing in a cryptocurrency or ICO, remember that this is a high-risk investment. If you make the right choice, you can provide for yourself and your family for life. But you can just as easily lose almost all investments, if you make the wrong choice. It is extremely difficult to predict the cryptocurrency market because of the large number of fast-growing projects and various incidents, which is why the distribution of risks is the best investment strategy.

Dear @theymos I think it would be better not to start this process.

Why not start the process....
1. If this process is introduced then many will report unnecessarily. This may cause more suffering.
<…>
I can’t understand all your arguments properly. Nevertheless, reports will be validated by mods, so any wrong report will be rejected and thus will not lead to wrongful harm to anyone. Just a cleaner forum and more work for the mods and admins.

It seems the idea here is to encourage more people to report. I certainly used the forum for a very long time before I ever used the report button, I just never thought about it. From what I understand the problem is unreported spam, not unnecessary reports. People that haven't got to 300 reports yet will not have seen the Your reports page and this text "Do not worry about your accuracy too much; one accurate report is worth many inaccurate reports."
2786  Other / Meta / Re: Promotional messages in PM on: July 28, 2018, 05:09:03 AM
I think even the pm is included in this.

You're right that PM limits are also based on activity not rank but it is a different calculation to the posting limits.

ActivityMax recipientsMax recipients if whitelistedMax PMs per hourMax PMs per hour if whitelistedMax PMs per dayMax PMs per day if whitelisted
02101402120
15310104015120
30510104030120
1007142080150600
25015301201203001200
500303012012012001200

You are automatically whitelisted if you buy a copper membership. You don't need to wear the copper membership, just own it. You can also be whitelisted for free by any staff member and a few non-staff, but we're going to need some reason to think that you actually deserve it. Do not ask me for free whitelisting.

Whitelisting is a not a license to spam. You will be immediately banned if you're found spamming, even if you bought a copper membership (and you will not be refunded).
2787  Other / Meta / Re: Lets go deeper in "brand new" and " newbie" statistics on: July 27, 2018, 07:53:17 PM
The Brand New phenomenon is down to the Evil IP system. When an account is banned the IP address assigned some evil points and all IP addresses close to it a smaller number of evil points. When a new account is signed up from an IP address that has a certain number of evil points they are required to pay a fee before they can post (the higher the evil score the higher the fee). The spambots sign up many accounts to find one they can post from for free.
2788  Other / Meta / Re: Seeking reporter badge images on: July 27, 2018, 02:48:41 PM
I'm not sure what the benefit of knowing this information would be though. If you are reporting one of their posts then it doesn't really matter whether they are banned or not if their post is off topic/spam or what ever as it adds to the clutter of the thread.

I think it is when we report them for copy pasting it is a waste of time searching for the source if they are already banned. I guess it also wastes the moderators time going to ban them again and finding it's already done.
2789  Other / Meta / Re: My cMerits project is just finding plagiarists and bounty spammers. on: July 27, 2018, 02:33:00 PM
I'm coming to the conclusion that it is a waste of time to go off on merit awarding hunts, and one should just continue to be an active member of the forum, and just award merits when one happens to come accross a good post. I think this is sad, as it means that my merit awards will be contained in topics that I found to be interesting.

I don't think that's such a bad thing. There are plenty of other Merit sources who will have different interests to you. Each of you is better placed to judge what is worthy of Merit if it is about a subject you are knowledgeable about and interested in yourselves.

Any Prediction + -

Soon.

Thank you very much for the help, I sent email to freedoge but I do not know if they are slow to respond.

We get thousands of emails a day and not enough time to answer them. We do read them though.
2792  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Contest with $30,000 in GUARANTEED PRIZES now live! on: July 27, 2018, 01:06:53 PM
I've passed that information on to wetsuit and I'll let you when he gets back to me.
I did not understand, explain it better please

I do forum support. wetsuit is the site owner and administrator and the only person that can check this out and fix it.

He just got back to me and said there was a problem with that TX and it'll be rebroadcast shortly.

Agreed 100% - I cannot wait for the day when 1 Satoshi = $1  Grin

I mean, I'm bullish on Bitcoin but that's never gonna happen. The marketcap of Bitcoin would have to reach $2,100 trillion - for comparison, the GDP of the entire world is about $75 trillion.  Smiley

GDP doesn't have any relevance. FWIW when the 21 million Bitcoin and 8 decimal places were decided on Satoshi and the others that were working with him based the calculation on global money supply. 1 Satoshi was meant to be the equivalent of 1 US cent if all money was Bitcoin. Don't read that to mean that they thought that would happen but that they thought that meant there would never be any need for a unit smaller.

It's been about 6 hours now,

Can I get the ID by clicking on the transaction link for the corresponding address? When I click it it loads and after the error (https://chain.so/main/err)

MY ID on site: 3115480  in freedoge
Usually it's minutes. But you've been doing this for hours.

And before the error appears (https://chain.so/main/err) the eh esse link https://chain.so/tx/DOGE/f62be9647272b4867e63f8b49956172ce78006ac458b2b0eaa27dfe2947af650

Thanks. Can you edit your post and delete your ref link as that's against the forum rules and the whole post is likely to get deleted.

Is that the transaction ID we gave you?
2796  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Contest with $30,000 in GUARANTEED PRIZES now live! on: July 27, 2018, 12:09:35 PM
The transaction on the freedoge.co.in website is giving error.

How long ago was this? Sometimes the TX hasn't yet been broadcast to the network and propagated. Wait a while and if you still haven't received it PM me your user ID and the transaction ID.
2797  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you stop calling Bitcoin an investment? on: July 27, 2018, 11:45:15 AM
@TheQuin

While we say humans are killing the humanity, we can also say bitcoiners are killing Bitcoin

If Bitcoin wasn't considered an investment, its value could be less volatile, and so more people could use it. How many time we read "Bitcoin is too volatile, I won't use it".
Accepting Bitcoin as an investment is accepting regulations. Accepting regulations is not different than accepting governments to control at some point and at some level the crypto world. Governments shouldn't be welcome, sorry, no slot for govt. the campaign is full Cheesy

What about is Bitcoin has a fixed value? People wouldn't consider it the same

It's impossible to avoid is all I'm saying. The only way to make it a fixed value would be to have a central authority controlling supply. It wasn't designed like that for good reason. The QE that followed the financial crisis was a large part of the inspiration behind Bitcoin. Giving people an alternative currency that your government couldn't deliberately devalue to make you poorer. Having a decentralised limited creation process restricts supply and makes it an asset, that might well be an unintended consequence but we have to accept it is there.
2798  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you stop calling Bitcoin an investment? on: July 27, 2018, 11:28:54 AM
I think everyone here is for profit. how else can this be called except as an investment

That's where you're wrong. Not everyone. In the beginning, this was about taking control away from governments and vested interests. Bitcoin was created to allow people to make financial transactions without the need for trusted third parties (banks) and to take the responsibility of money creation (printing) away from government agencies (central banks). It wasn't meant to be a way of getting rich.
2799  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you stop calling Bitcoin an investment? on: July 27, 2018, 11:02:18 AM
The limited supply and the distribution process leads to the analogy of gold. It's not hard to also see the similarity of something that was once a universally used as currency also being considered an asset and therefore an investment. While I don't disagree with what you say I think it is inevitable and unavoidable that many people will view Bitcoin as digital gold and an investment.

This is something different but I didn't find such a thread and this member fits permaban so I will post here.

I found that this member https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1167992 spreads malicious links on the forum.

I won't post this links but please check his account. He registers to all bounty campaigns and spread his malicious links in each post, spreadsheets, and worksheets.

Take proper steps against him, please.

Just click on the report to moderator link on those posts and enter why the link is malicious. The posts will then be deleted and the user banned.
