Anyone that have stayed clear off Liverpool's defenders and Alisson would by a huge margin better off

Planning to remove Van Djik out of my draft and so far he has only given me 4 points out of 3 game weeks despite that he was one of the top points earner as defenders. 4/4 of my defenders ended up getting 1 point lol and I checked your draft, great job on getting perisic for that solid 12 points, way better then 4 defenders getting 1 point each  Roll Eyes

I removed TAA, they seem to have too many issues for him to be worth the money when there are some other good options. Perisic has been great so far and not even played a full game..

I made some other huge changes too and my midfield looks pretty strong as is now: De Bryune, Salah, Martinelli, Gray, Zaha with Toney and Jesus on top. Somehow managed to fit this all within the budget with James, Cancelo and Perisic in the backfield and if this doesn't get me somewhere in the placings I'll just give up on fantasy  Cheesy
I am in a similar situation with all my premium defenders doing bad in GW3 and I want to bring Perišić in. But there is no way I am getting rid of TAA before Bournemouth game. That is arguably easiest game whole year and Liverpool are playing at home. Hell if I had some 4M or 4.5M defender in my team playing against Bournemouth at home, I would play him as well.

I am worried about James playing RCB instead of RWB. If I only knew what Chelsea plans to do in the future.

I have no idea as why Tuchel prefer James at the CB, and Loftus-Cheek at RB, and their forward lines pretty much unpredictable too, that's literally why I don't have single guy from Chelsea and It might stay that all season long.

I guess I will stick with Trent Alexander-Arnold for now, at least for a few weeks more, not because I'm expecting better points from him and fwiw I could have him bench while going for an extra midfielder to make it a 3-5-2 sqaud, the primary aim when having a defender is provided they have a chance of keeping a clean sheet and Liverpool's defense is awful right now and their defensive midfielders are barely providing the backline with any sort of relevant help so while my wild card is still yet to be used and I'd rather not waste a transfer on another/double defenders just yet. I've got another idea of what I want my team to look like for next game 2-3 weeks.

Well, I'm not performing as I'd like in the leaderboards. I'm blaming that on the odd start of the season we've had. I'm also annoyed at Liverpool, not that they've cost me points in the pool, but the fact that they just don't seem to be motivated at all at the moment. I know we have our injuries, but to lose against United in the manner that we did, absolutely abysmal.

It's either going to be a very long season or a very long wait until we get through this bad patch, obviously the injuries are playing a role, but there's no excuse why we saw quite a few of our players being lazy on the pitch. VVD was one of the worst on the field for it on Monday.

I did pretty well in the first game week but, it's been down the hill in the last two game weeks as well.

There are quite a number of things that I believe are affecting Liverpool's performance and the injuries is playing its part I'd agree, but the midfield is the first problem I believe is not very functional and Arnold needs a lot of assistance because he also often drops into the midfield position as usual which is why he's being less effective on the flank, and he's position in the defense is being targeted. Van Dijk is also not the best players in 1v1 situation and he's not the best at covering up for his partners in the CB position either so he's need another defender that could take up the those duties while he sticks to his area duels and physical matchups. Salah also needs a Mane-esque partner that will help get the 85-90% attention focused personally on him and forget about injuries woes, Liverpool really does needs a fresh pair of legs, if not two more in the midfield Milner and Elliot aren't going to cut it as their back up plan for an entire season, and let's assume Naby Keita and Thiago get back from their injuries, you can rely solely on these guys for a 50+ games stretch of the whole season including all other competitions.
2783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 23, 2022, 11:36:28 PM
Aren't Leicester City overplaying their hands to keep hold of Wesley Fofana who's clearly interested on leaving, and with £70Million then several addons for Centre Back who's only 21 years old, man I don't know, but I think they really should let him off, I don't he's worth the stress and they'd get some value and if not someone better plus loads of cash to spare.

I also read the news that Chelsea are looking to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona. I think this transfer would be an excellent opportunity for Chelsea. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had a great performance at Borussia Dortmund. Later, he did not have much success in Arsenal and Barcelona, but despite being 33 years old, he still creates a very effective striker image. I think Chelsea fans will be happy with this transfer. There is no Chelsea fan who does not want Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
I think Aubameyang has proven his prowess and abilities as a striker in recent years be it Dortmund, Arsenal and Barcelona at the moment. His qualities as striker are already recognized and Chelsea can consider him this season. Fans were expecting a great signing for the striker, but Aubameyang still seems reliable in the short term before Chelsea find younger and better striker than Aubameyang.

Quote
There is no Chelsea fan who does not want Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
I can expect pros and cons between fans when team wants to sign player, so not all fans are happy with their team's market activity on particular player. So Chelsea's interest in Aubameyang is actually not supported by 100% of the fans who want player who is younger and more talented than Aubameyang.

Looking at how fit Aubameyang his, I'd say he's still got some 2-4 years at the current level he's performing at, I mean you're willing to well over £50m for Gordon (barely average imo) and having £70m+ rejected for Fofana but they think around 30m (euro) is too much for Aubameyang, well fuck me if they didn't £97.5m for Lukaku around a year ago and who couldn't even live up to the standard they expected of him, and the advantage with Aubameyang deal is that he's spent years before working with Tuchel.

I don't think any of the results were really surprising but I was pretty much expect anything between Crvena Zvezda and Maccabi Haifa, this is the best tie of this round, and at least we can finally move past the tiring series of qualifiers every other week and look forward to the Group Stage draws and competition proper itself.

Same here hahaha, i look the freebets and think.... again Steve blessing my account?, i totally forgot this one.

I dont use them maybe tomorrow.

Yeah, I got mine too, I happened to be browsing through yesterday's fixtures when I saw them and I used 'em all already

In the pool itself, another season with Juventus being unpredictable? Please no.

After the 3 nil win over Sassuolo, I thought it was going to been quite predictable season for Juventus, I wasn't expecting an easy run though, but It's rather too early to be throwing these points away.

Napoli on the other hand seem to be coming for blood this season, 9 goals scored in just two games.

No complaints from me by this United win, scored some much needed points in the pool and scored this little bet:

Big Grats! That's freaking huge man! and to be freaking honest, that's some guts you've got! Not especially considering how shitty Man United have been, did you get some clairvoyant's tipoff or perhaps some inside information, because logically, this looks quite beyond some just "giving it a shot thingy"  Grin

It was a completely shitty week for me though, I had just 3 points from 10 games, never have I ever had it this low if I recall correctly.
2788  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | FPL Football Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: August 23, 2022, 02:00:43 AM
this guy right here,

i added him last week with my Wildcard. Yesterday he was subbed off because of an injury and could miss the next game, great use of a Wildcard alright  Smiley  well, at least i wasn't the only who got obliterated by the GW of surprises, but still, not good enough

It was just a knock and It seems Guardiola trust him more now than to pair both Stones and Dias together, and more especially the kinda goals they conceded all which were after he got subbed out, I think I'd still leave him in for the next game week, until he's fit and I'm sure Guardiola his only choosing to bench him... furthermore, at least you ended up with more points than you'd have had if you had gone for Liverpool defender or that of Chelsea.

I chose not to stick with Salah too, I know Man United defense is all shambles right now, but I hate to think that Man Utd might start to get things right and that lost to Brentford could have been the turning point.

I mean, I just had to quote myself, I could say I saw this coming from a mile away, but that still didn't stop Salah from getting a goal anyways, he saved the day for a lot of folks. With Liverpool drawing the first two first to losing to the worse team in the league after to games, isn't that some sort of trouble in paradise ?

Anyone that have stayed clear off Liverpool's defenders and Alisson would by a huge margin better off, so much for spending those shit loads of fortune on Arnold and Robertson, perhaps It's high time I ditched Robertson too at least Liverpool begin to get their shits together.

Whatever may happen, we are in for an interesting season, to say the least. Keep it up gunners and we're cooking Cheesy

I don't want to jinx it, but it sure is nice to see the gunners at the top of the table.   Smiley

Otherwise, it's been rotten weekend for my predictions, and it doesn't look like I'm alone.  Very few points all around with all the upsets, and draws.

It was a complete bloodbath with my predictions too, I went completely off the railroad with most of them, just way too may upsets from one week, I could only get 2 close result outcome and 3 points in total  Sad well having just 4 people on double digits show have averagely shitty the week is for almost everyone.

Now I'm questioning my prediction for tomorrow's match, and I always pick Liverpool.

Would anyone get near even Man United to score at least a goal today ?, Let alone go all out for a Man United win, that'd be tough. I'm of the opinion that this will be a low scoring game even if Liverpool secure the full 3 point and regardless of Man Utd's goal conceding records in their last 2 games.
2790  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: August 22, 2022, 03:05:51 AM
Finally Robert Lewandowski managed to score his first goal more precisely 2 goals and beat Real Sociedad Barcelona is ready to go to the track
At least 3 strikers participated in this win which shows that they are at the right point of adaptation, next they must maintain cohesiveness to be able to compete with Madrid

I was never in doubt that the goals will eventually keep falling for Lewandowski, it was just a matter time and now here go! Lewandowski has got every skill set that's needed to consider a player an elite one, he's runs, dribbles and powerful heading and also ability to score goals with relative ease even within tight circumstances.

Despite the early goal from Barcelona, they squandered the advantage just a couple of minutes later, Real Sociedad were the better side of the first 45 minutes as Barcelona looked clueless for most of that half, but everything changed in the 2nd half after Ansu Fati was subbed in, He had great communication with Dembele and Lewandowski up the pitch which made the 2nd half really easier.

Think I have a couple of Chelski guys at least so this half not looking good for me heh heh.

I have 3 and two of them ended up with 1 point while the other one ended up with 2 points. 41 Points in total for me right now (couple of Liverpool's players left) with 3 Chelsea player flopping, it could have been easy win for Chelsea though and we'll have decent points from the players dang

This is actually the first time that I ended with a little bit over the average points. Going back on track it seems although the gap between me and the top spot is literally double of my current point lol but hey its a small start for me with two previous weeks getting way below the average points Roll Eyes

I think, I'll take Haaland scoring just a goal over going blank any day, He really could have scored a whole more today to be honest, from hitting the woodwork after a stunning save from Pope, and then to De Bruyne and Foden not being to find him about a few yards away from them with what could have been to easy tap ins. Not an extraordinary game week for me so far, but I'm good with having almost twice the average for the week, while still having and Salah for Liverpool later tomorrow. I wouldn't mind Salah going blank or at least not scoring more points than Haaland for this week.

I really don't want to provoke lady luck by having the first laugh on Chelsea because I really don't want any upset for City too, with Haaland being my captain. I was really getting pissed by thinking Chelsea would keep Rodrigo harmless but then he's just something else, however Trossard scoring still made it somewhat fair enough that I kept my transfer, it would have been worth it to get Rodrigo though, I just might do that before the week price gets updated too if there are thousands of transfers in for him.

I'm saving my it's Haaland O'clock draft... I hope it doesn't go to waste 🤞

Gameweek 2 - Odegaard plays awful and gets 2 pts

use wildcard ahead of Gameweek 3 and replace Odegaard (and a few other players). His replacement is a Brentford player who got 6 pts and 8 pts in the past two gameweeks.

Gameweek 3 - this happens:

kill me

patience is key !!! I Captain Kane!  I was about to swap Kane for Jesus when I noticed the number of managers holding G. Jesus!!  80% is a fucking number, I decided to defy it! I can't wait to see him flop. I sold Perisic last week, and he earned a lot of points today, but I don't regret it, Schar is batter option
i read somewhere that 80% is the highest amount reached in the history FPL, not sure if true but if it is that's crazy. So glad i joined the hype train before the start of the season

That what I said about this being a marathon and not a sprint, I wouldn't bring any player just a for temporary basis, I surely would have felt it's worth keeping over the next few weeks, and It really sucks for anyone to have had Odegaard just to get him out at the wrong time, but I still wouldn't consider him a smart buy for a long time, it's just like me having Perisic, he didn't start the first game and was only a sub in the second week (although he still got an assist) but I felt I need to let one go of him or Matty Cash and I had to choose Matty Cash simply because he doesn't serve long time profit for me imo and Perisic is finally paying dividends, the only pain being in my sub right now is Andreas Pereira, man's always getting above the least point on my team, and today he's got 8  Roll Eyes

Did you gave captain armband to Jesus? I have a fun fact for you, due to extremely high ownership (over 80%) and high captaincy rate on Jesus (41.28%) and even 1% of triple captains on Jesus, math works out in a way that if you just had him in a team (not captain) you are actually better off if he doesn't get any points Smiley

Nope not a captain, gave the captain armband to Haaland and hoping that he will score against Newcastle. Well I got 3 Arsenal players on my squad, Ramsdale and Martinelli ended up with 6 points and Jesus only ended up with 4 points which could have been 5 if it wasnt for the yellow card. Interesting facts you got there, how do I check on percentage numbers like that though for some other players?
Just google stuff like that, there is tons of fantasy materials and statistics out there in the open for free. There is couple of paid sites as well but I never tried those. Seems like a bit of overkill to me since they do all the math for you and you basically end up playing the game just by xG and xA. I prefer to watch the games and pick players that I like.

Above stats are taken from below linked and one other site I don't have bookmarked:
https://www.fantasyfootballpundit.com/fpl-effective-ownership/

I decided to go with Haaland for this week, I really didn't know why I didn't settle for Jesus though, but It just didn't feel right with me, I chose not stick with Salah too, I know Man United defense is all shambles right now, but I hate to think that Man Utd might start to get things right and that lost to Brentford could have been the turning point. All I need from Guardiola is just to let him have the complete 90 minutes on the pitch, I'm sure Haaland will sort the rest out.

How does this work on other sites @darxiamo ?

I think I've also said this before, other sites use what they called a "close result" system instead of the "goal difference" system. The close result rule makes better sense than goal difference rule, at least that's my own opinion. I don't see why someone who predicted a score like 7-6 should get more points than some one who predicted 2-0, if the final score is 2-1, from a logical point of view, it would seem really absurd if a 7-6 prediction is considered closer to 2-1, than a 2-0 because of the goal difference, but since it's their house, so therefore it's also their rules and should be respected.

Casemiro's purchase from Real Madrid has delighted Manchester United supporters, but they will have another reason to rejoice soon, according to reports, United have increased their bid for Antony from Ajax to €100 million.

One of the main summer transfer destinations for new manager Erik ten Hag was Antony, but it is said that United's initial €80m bid was rejected. The player reportedly did not participate in training today, following the reappearance of a €100m bid from United, sparking rumors that a transfer might be right.

€100 million for Antony would be absolutely nuts, and I think that he's extremely overvalued for that price, I don't think he's a better player than Barcelona's new recruit Raphinha, I'm not trying to lowball his talent or potentials but It might just turnout to be another Depay-esque deal for Man United, I'd rather they go for well established players in that position, If Chelsea could get Sterling around 47 million pounds, and players like Luis Diaz for around that same value, I really don't see Antony being worth anywhere near that value, but desperate times calls for desperate measures, I guess.

Odegaard is terrible choice from fantasy point of view. He gets you minutes but very low number of assists/goals. Almost like defensive midfielder. It is no coincidence that even top players on DM position cost about 6M. They are just not worth it.

Yeah I guess the midfielders that is useful in fantasy is pretty those attacking midfielders / wingers thats would score / assist otherwise it wont really matter with the play minutes. I'll see how this goes on GW3 though, I think I have decent squad for GW3. Well Haaland and Jesus should be able to score some goals in their next games though

Yeah, especially players that are naturally strikers but listed on FPL as midfielders, Salah, Martinelli, Rodrigo and so on, and the best part is you get 1 point more if they should compared to what are awarded to strikers and you also get an additional point if the team keeps a clean sheet. That's where having De Bruyne become essential, though I don't have him in my team yet (and would have stick to the Man City double at the back line until they start conceding goals in consecutive games. I'm also very tempted to use my free transfer for this week to bring on Rodrigo, but I don't want sto risk it vs a Chelsea defense which might be too much for him to thrive against.

With Tanganga and Soumaré on my team, what should I do? Triple 0's in the previous 3 games. I was hoping to get rid of Soumare without losing any points when he moved to Monaco, but the mf is still not going, so I'm stuck with him! Soumare is not in Rodgers' plan for the year, and his move to Monaco has been delayed for 2 weeks now. Tanganga was a key player for Conte last season and appeared in almost every game; therefore, it is puzzling why he has been sitting on the bench for the past three games without playing a single minute.

What do you guys think about trading Harry Kane for Jesus to save my team, I need Jesus to do that. I expect Jesus to score more points than Harry Kane this season because the Arsenal team is centered around him, but my gut keeps telling me to wait until GW5 and evaluate both points. Please give me some advice! (Only incorrect ones)

Can Salah succeed on a chilly Monday night at Old Trafford without Firmino, Nunez, and Jota? Will Halaand be a successful captain in GW4? Only incorrect answers.

I'll expect a more conservative game between Man Utd and Liverpool, so I'm not totally expectant of Salah to explode, but the only about very certain thing is that ceteris paribus, Salah would be on the pitch for 90 minutes, but Haaland might not get past 70-75 minutes. I'm yet to decide on my options and Gabriel Jesus is still well a considerable option for me at this point.

A number of deals have also been completed over the course of this week that I'm considering to bank on when I'm playing my wild card...
2800  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 19, 2022, 11:14:16 AM
It looks like Casemiro to Man Utd seems very close to done deal already, even though it is yet to be officially announced, Fabrizio Romano reported that "Ancelotti have excluded Casemro from Real Madrid team for tomorrow clash against Celta Vigo and that Casemiro have already made known his decision to leave the club and try a new challenge.."

While that'd be a great addition to the Man Utd squad, I believe there are still positions within the team that also need proper attention, especially the forward line.
