Yes, taproot did not get activated in v0.1.6 we almost reached the target, one mining pool didn't upgrade, and literally taproot activation was short by 5 blocks.

So we decided to give it a reschedule, and new builds are available at GitHub and bitgesell.ca website. Also a few small fixes regarding 'bitcoin' mentioned in wallet dump etc., were done.

The new taproot activation rules are more relaxed, hopefully we would make it, 1st on September.
5 blocks are not impossible mission for the next schedule and I think BGL community will get the Taproot activation in the next period, like you said 1st September.

It is interesting because Taproot of Bitcoin was locked in and it will be activated in November.
2782  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Bitcoin and Crypto Really Like the Early Internet? on: July 04, 2021, 06:12:56 AM
Bitcoin and crypto has more space to grow but they currently are not like the early internet. Internet requires infrastructures and education efforts.

It takes 2 or 3 decades to bring the Internet over the world but blockchain nowadays can be more easily accessed. Anywhere you have Internet access, you can learn about blockchain and can use it. With blockchain, you don't need to build up more infrastructures beside the Internet.

Developers code, launch a blockchain and everyone can use it.
2783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ABC and POS on: July 04, 2021, 05:50:42 AM
It's an attempt to revive this dead coin, but it's shooting on foot.
The developers have nothing but trying to give customers some free money to keep buying that currency, so they may make some gains in the short term, but in the long run, Bitcoin ABC's project is dead.
Many projects are revived that way. After months of dead, they make swaps to a new algorithms, new chains and attract new investors. They do it in bull trend and after take profit, their projects will be dead again when the bear market comes.

A quality of one project depends on a core team and such project does not have a good developer team. Calling them as scammers or not, it depends on each person, but they are not good and productive developers.
2784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ABC and POS on: July 04, 2021, 04:24:56 AM
"The developers of Bitcoin ABC announced the start of a rebranding campaign that is set to coincide with the launch of a new project – eCash – aiming at redefining digital money. The Bitcoin ABC project will officially change its name to eCash and the token will be renamed from BCHA to XEC on July 1 at 12 PM UTC."
Bitcoin ABC team did not redefine anything. After their failure, they try more to change to PoS and say they are defining something. Proof of Stake is in crypto many years.

Quote
Will this affect Bitcoin in any way?
It won't, certainly. Changing to PoS can be because the Bitcoin ABC team try to get attention from Elon Musk and want to say their altcoin is a green bitcoin.

The Bitcoin ABC is not related to Bitcoin. They try to abuse the Bitcoin in their coin name.
2785  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If your country does not allow the use of Bitcoin, what would you do? on: July 03, 2021, 03:38:11 AM
If your nation simply have yet officially accept Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, you can use it but be aware that you will not be protected by laws in your nation.

I'd reconsider this statement. If you're in a country where bitcoin is a de jure asset (eg in places like the EU where an asset has to be expressly made illegal to own) then you do have legal rights to possess the asset, trade it and receive the same contractual/legal protections as long as you confirm yourself to their requirements (for example not doing a single transaction of more than €15000 cash without KYC).
You can trade and won't be put into jail because you have trades with Bitcoin or cryptocurrency.

Only when you have crypto trades and you were scammed by trade partners or your trade partners use dark money for money laundering, you will not be protected by laws. You will lose your money and can not find any help from police, banks or government.

You can not visit the police office and say I have a bitcoin trade via bank transfer, and I was scammed, please help me.
2786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero: A good long-term investment? on: July 03, 2021, 03:21:43 AM
Competitors like DASH, Zcash, BEAM, and even Grin don't stand a chance against Monero's ever-growing user base and mainstream demand.
Monero is the best privacy coin and others can not compete with Monero. DASH, ZCash, BEAM, GRIN will join the party if Monero leads a new wave for privacy coins.

Privacy coins are in their hibernation for many months and if look further, can say they have years of hibernation since 2017 and 2018.

Many wanted awards to break Monero transactions but it survives so far. A very strong privacy coin, Monero and it has yet been delisted on big exchanges that shows the fact of failure to break XMR private transactions.
2787  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If your country does not allow the use of Bitcoin, what would you do? on: July 03, 2021, 03:07:26 AM
What should I do if Bitcoin is prohibited in my country/region?
In many nations bitcoin and cryptocurrency are not legal tenders. You need to differentiate between being legal tender and being banned or restricted.

If your nation ban or restrict bitcoin and cryptocurrency usages, exchanges, you have to be very careful because you can be caught and put in jail by law.

If your nation simply have yet officially accept Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, you can use it but be aware that you will not be protected by laws in your nation.

Yeah, this one is a great list. But these people charge a lot & some of them stopped doing sponsored videos. We may try them out when we have a large community.
Maybe the bull run from 2020 to 2021 help them become millionaires and they are no longer want to do sponsored videso.

Thanks for your disclosure that you might contact owners of large channels when the Bitgesell community become big. It unofficially reveals that you have long term support and management for this project.

We will roll out an Article & Video Campaign later this week. Currently working on it. You should see some Bitcointalk banners soon!
I incidentally see your preparation for it and the coming promotion will be great for Bitgesell.
2789  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: July 02, 2021, 10:35:28 AM
Mbappe is a great player. Any team must want to have such a player in their squad. Mbappe missed the penalty, before that see how the other players on the team performed. Did anyone think this match would go up to a penalty kick? Throughout the match, the Swiss players performed better than the French players.
Players who readily to do penalty kicks are brave and succeed or fail, they should be respected for their bravery.

Johan Cruyff does not want to do penalty kicks because he thought it is huge pressure and after 120 minutes, his foot are not good to do such kicks. I say this not to protect Mbappe but I only want to discuss about another thing in penalty kick and what players have to face with.

Some coaches do substitutions at the end of second extra half just to do penalty kicks. They want to replace tired players with strong ones, just for one kick.
2790  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Gathers Upside Momentum, Faces Resistance Near $40K on: July 02, 2021, 10:11:18 AM
We now understand this, but only 10 days ago no one knew exactly where the bottom would be and where it would be possible to buy cheap coins for speculation in order to sell them at 36k. People know how to analyze the possible profit after the fact, but in real time it turns out much worse.
It's too easy to look at what happened and say something but it is challenging to say about future. So you are right. If we can say about the future correctly as what we look at the chart, and say about the past, we all get rich. In a market, it is unrealistic that everyone get rich because capital has to change hands, from losers to winners.

Quote
In any case, buying coins for speculation on a possible bottom is a big risk and you can get stuck with such an investment for at least a few months. Moreover, we see that bitcoin does not hold any level at all, it quickly rises to 35-36k and the next day again tends to 30-32k. Looking at these movements, every day I am getting more and more prepared for the fact that we will not hold the key support level of 30k.
$24,000 or lower to above $20,000 can be a good support for Bitcoin. I think it will be a real bottom for this detrimental time for holders. I can not imagine any price lower than $20,000 at least now.
2791  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk accidentally created a new cryptocurrency. WTF? on: July 02, 2021, 05:43:20 AM
Elon tweets, you can follow his twitter, read his tweets or ignore his twitter and his tweets.

If you see his tweets are non sense, no price movement but because many people think his tweets have power to move price on the market, price moves up because of people belief.

Even Elon makes a funny tweet, it will still have upward effect for price. Followers are stupid, but Elon is wise.
2792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk's two tweets on Dogecoin drive value of cryptocurrency up by 7% on: July 02, 2021, 05:31:50 AM
You can see, by how much percentage changes with his tweet.

IMO, the trust from the crypto community to Elon already not really have high expectations due we already know he was shilling 2 tokens/coins ($DOGE & $SHIBA). And one more thing, with his Ken Inutweet about the energy mining the reason at that day make crypto market collapse. Almost cryptocurrency community right now is pissed off with him, only in the matter of time the community will not gonna listed anymore.
Elon tweets lost it magic power than months ago. His tweets recently can move price up but not with 50%, 100% or 200% like months ago.

The market now is in accumulation and it won't give opportunity for altcoins to suddenly x2, x3 in a few hours, by Elon tweets or tweet from other influencers.

Elon will have to wait when the market finishes its accumulation and shill altcoins again.
2793  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Gathers Upside Momentum, Faces Resistance Near $40K on: July 01, 2021, 05:00:01 AM
Before storming the $40 000 mark, you need to pass at least the $36 000 mark, from which bitcoin has already rebounded several times. While we are in the downtrend and determining the bottom is a lottery. Maybe. having bought at the bottom, you will receive a second bottom as a gift, at the level of $25 000. Until we break through $40 000, there can be no talk of any growth.
Wait confirmation and break out to participate in. Now I hold my stable coin and use 20% of my stable coin to trade bitcoin. It is boring if I am not involved in the market but I know my trading is not good to help me rich.

Quote
These local spikes in Bitcoin's growth also quickly turn into drops. Let's recall the recent situation last week, when bitcoin easily flew from $35 000 to $30 000. So today's growth can easily be replaced by tomorrow's deep decline.
Another failure to break above $36,000 then $40,000, bitcoin will be dumped to $24,000 to $25,000. It can appear in second or third week of July. The price is moving to the end of triangle. I think that will be the bottom of Bitcoin. Someone can wait lower price but I don't believe it will be seen.
2794  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: July 01, 2021, 04:20:49 AM
Yes. He needs more experience, especially for international matches. It is not only about handling stress, but he needs to improve his chemistry among his national teammates. It is quite different from the League or UCL because he plays with his teammate that spends much time playing together. While for international matches like in Euro or  World Cup, they play with different teammates and with a very limited time to play together.
France have a very stable squad in the last 3 tournaments: Euro 2016, World Cup 2018 and Euro 2020 (2021) and their problems are many players in the squad feel like they are on the top of the world and in the Europe. It is their problems and Mbappe has his personal issue that probably contributes by social media. They said he is a next Messi and will compete with a next Ronaldo, Haaland.

When Mbappe can keep his mind and foot unaffected by social media, he will become a legendary player.

Mbappe can be another Thomas Mueller who shined too early in international skirt but in late of career, his contribution has been less and less.

It was really unfortunate for Mbappe. But no player wants to miss a penalty. As a fan, we didn't like it. But at the end of the day, Mbappe is a man, we should not scold him, or humiliate him. He is definitely talented. And in the future, he will be able to give us much good gameplay.
Many super stars missed their penalty. Zico, Baggio, Beckham, Messi, Ronaldo, Trezeguet so it is not the end for Mbappe. He is too young and has 10 years to contribute more for France and win more international titles.
2795  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: July 01, 2021, 04:03:49 AM
PSG is one thing, I remember the days when Lyon actually dominated ligue 1 as well, it was really just one team dominating to other team dominating.
The past domination of Lyon even bigger than PSG. They won 7 seasons from 2001 to 2008 that is a little shorter streak than Juventus in Serie A. Juniho is their captain in that period and Lyon in those golden time, are very competitive in Champions League.

However Bundesliga is not looking like that, Bayern is just managed way too good and they do not even need some super wealthy person to buy amazing players, they can buy whoever they need all by themselves.

Long story short we are in a situation where Bayern needs to lose but they won't, so that means someone else needs to win. Red Bull is putting a ton of pressure in sports world, we all know their racing in formula one, and with Leipzig they have made that team into a giant, maybe soon they will actually spend some more and make that team win it.
Bayern will lose, in a very few seasons but they come back very quickly. It is not because they always have best players in Bundesliga. They lose in some seasons when they don't have best players in the league but quickly after that failed season, they buy best players from the championship opponent and come back shortly after 1 or 2 seasons.
2796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happen if US ban cryptocurrencies? on: July 01, 2021, 03:58:01 AM
I don't think that the US will ban crypto, but for the sake of your argument, I think it will have a drastic impact on the market, we might see the price crashing because of this news. However, no country is bigger than bitcoin or the rest of the crypto. We might suffer a crash, but definitely it will grow again given sometime. We have seen how crypto's resiliency is, so no doubt that we can bounce back but it might take time, or until everything settles down after the ban.
The US is the most crypto friendly nations. They have strict laws for cryptocurrency but it does not mean they banned or will ban cryptocurrency. What we need actually is laws, regulations to prevent scam, ponzi schemes and bring cryptocurrency to mainstream.

Base on the fact, many crypto companies, exchanges, marketplaces, merchants are originated from the US, they will not suddenly ban cryptocurrency in the nation. It is impossible and unrealistic.

Big tech companies in the US already accepted or began to invest in cryptocurrency or expand their companies to blockchain. If the US won't ban Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, Microsoft, they won't ban cryptocurrency.

2798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 30, 2021, 05:49:07 AM
Czech Republic / Denmark - In this case I have many doubts, who can win the match.  Undecided
Czech look better than Denmark and they have Patrick Schick who has very good form in the tournament but we've already seen many surprising results so far. Schick used to be considered very high but his career does not grow well after the transfer from Sampdoria to AS Roma. One more thing, do you know Schick was rejected by Juventus (after that he joined Roma) because Juventus suspected that he has a kind of small problem with his heart.

Denmark can make us surprised again and repeat their 1992 amazing tournament.
2799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: June 30, 2021, 05:19:09 AM
I do agree with all you guys said but that brings a bad football to the table, at least for me. I am not German so I am not fan of any specific team but when a team is champions for 100 years in a row that is just boring, we have seen Juventus streak ending this year, PSG streak ending as well, and I want to see Bayern streak ending as well. They can become champions right afterwards, 3-5 times a row again, but let us watch one season where Bayern becomes second or worse so that we can see another team becoming champions.
The championship streak of Bayern will be broken. Lyon, Juventus, PSG witnessed it and Bayern will not be able to win in all seasons.

However the general things in Bundesliga are different than in Serie A, Lique I or Premier League. Bayern are too strong with their players and they have too dominant balance sheet that help them to buy any best player in Germany if they are interested in.

It does not happen in Premier League or Serie A when there are a few clubs in the championship competition.

You can compare Bundesliga with Lique I because they are dominated by only one team, Bayern in Bundesliga and PSG in Lique I. PSG lost the championship in last season but they will claim it back in a new season.
2800  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Chia vs BURST on: June 30, 2021, 04:42:24 AM
Which coin do you think is best? Chia or Burst? Do you think both coins will last a lifetime?
BURST has many years and it survives so it is good to see BURST now has a colleague for hard drive mining, CHIA $XCH.

I would like to choose BURST, not CHIA. My choice is not because technical aspect but I think CHIA is risky and BURST can take advantage of a hype on CHIA to recovery from its bottom.

I consider BURST as Ethereum Classic that had good growth by taking advantage of Ethereum upgrade.
