2782  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Threads translation challenge for newbie's. on: May 25, 2022, 07:18:56 AM
<…>
I figure the scenario is that of translating other people’s posts into your local language. Being so, I’d go about it this way:

-   Ask the OP for his consent to you translating his post. This is more of a deference I figure though, than a real requirement.

-   Make sure to credit the author and the original post within your post, preferably early on rather that at the end of the translated post. This would be necessary in order to remain honest to the truth, as well as to avoid accusations of plagiarism.

-   It goes without saying, that one should master well enough both the languages being used, and the concepts being translated, in order for the result to be decent enough.

-   Bear in mind that some posts may evolve over time, with updates or modifications made by the OP. You may therefore want to check every now and then if the OP’s content has changed, in order to keep the translation in sync.

As far as I can recall, I’ve translated a couple of important forum announcements for my local board’s benefit, and a single forum guide on reporting which I considered relevant. I don’t recall asking for permission in any of these cases, but I certainly credited them at the beginning of my translations.

Like I didn't even had the slightest idea that even after translating a thread, that I still need to go check at times if there has been modifications to it. Thank you for bringing this to my knowledge.

I think I'll have to start from the announcement  section too for starter.
2783  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How do we raise our kids in this kinda society on: May 24, 2022, 01:59:35 PM
The wisest way to lead our child to a positive life is to teach religion to them...

I disagree. It's wise to teach children about religions, not to force them into a certain religion.

Quote
With the increasingly free and easy access in this era, it is very natural for us as parents to worry about the future of our children. people who are involved with prostitution and drugs certainly do not have a strong belief in religion, they only care about lust so that has led them since they were young to know more about religion, according to your religion.

What about drug cartels from Central and South America? They build churches, have altars in their houses, wear jewelry with religious symbols and often pray.
Taliban terrorists are usually very religious as well.

It's important that children learn to be good people, know ethics. Telling them that they can always wipe away some sins through confession will not teach them responsibility.
Teaching a child the difference between good and evil and the consequences that follows afterwards is one other way of best teaching a child how to grow. Giving them the power of choice while still very young and having them face the consequences squarely will in a very large sense curtail and make them understand certain ethics and morals of society.

Religion alone haven't really helped as expected thus this far due to how it has been infiltrated by deviant men in society.

Make this election comot this set of leaders make we still Know where God go carry us put. This government no take anywhere good, hypocrisy plenty.
You sound quite sanguine about the outcome of the next general election, i am not trying to be a pessimist here, but i do not have high hopes about what is to come, when you even look at the candidates vying to represent their different political parties in the next general election, i sort of lose hope. I could be totally wrong with my thoughts, but it is what it is, and we all know what our dear country Nigeria is capable of.
Bros, make we keep our fingers crossed. I am sure e go better soon.
We have been saying this for quite a long time now, hoping for things to get better over here, but it seems so far from us at the moment. Most Nigerians at this stage just wants to eke out a living for themselves and their family, cause as for the general economy, things do not look quite good, or doesn't look to be good anytime soon.
Trust if we the electorates play our own constitutional role to the letter and in practice then naija for don supposed better by now and the so-called parasitic politicians we get for we country for don sit up.

But take a look at this situation where, many youths no get idea or interest  about how the Political system of their country dey like, some if not many no get PVC, others prefer to collect 2k for now against next 4yrs, while some just sit down dey look say nothing concerned Dem.

imagine general election days people dey sit down inside their house dey sleep instead of going out to cast their votes just because them believe in the fallacy say them votes don't count. Bros if your vote no count, then ask yourself why do politicians buy PVC,s so to use rig election !?.

The betterment of this country dey for we youth hands and not our fathers the better n earlier we know and act in consolidation and unity towards this the idea na d earlier tins go start to beta for we country.

New Topic: SEC ISSUE NEW CRYPTOCURRENCY REGULATION IN 🇳🇬 NIGERIA

Some good news coming from the security and exchange commission(SEC) in Nigeria as the government gives out guidelines that will serve as a template that will guide the cryptocurrency transactions and service.
If what I read is correct, this only serves to demonstrate how foolish the CBN is and how little they care about the growth of crypto currency in the country; these new regulations only serve to expose their main reason for banning banks from participating in crypto transactions: it was all about money, not because crypto posed a threat to our local fiat and banking system. Instead of this dreadful new regulation requiring vendors to register with a ridiculous amount before using a bank for crypto transactions, they could have added extra charges to all bank crypto-related charges as a crypto tax.

What made them think we would pay such a high fee to conduct business with banks? Isn't this something we're already doing?  Man it's a lost battle... This CBN governor no get single sense for head, the same idiot want to contest for presidency.
The political and economical capitalists don't give a damn about our welfare in this country called Nigeria except for issues that serve their interest. And that's why they're in day by day struggling for accumulation of power after another.

The youths needa to be conscious of this fact and assist each other in ways they can before it's too late.

2789  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DON'T QUIT on: May 20, 2022, 07:47:23 AM
Instead of dieing along the line cause of a certain believe that quiters never win and winner never quit, cause if you don't quit when the results of cryptocurrency has started affecting your health and it eventually leads to your death then that's another way of quiting.

So which is better quitting alive or through death?
2790  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be patient, don't get discouraged. on: May 20, 2022, 07:35:57 AM
Being a newbie isn't that easy though everyone here was ones a newbie and do understand the circumstances and challenges that surrounds a newbie, and as such it would be of great pillar to many newbie's should they get some level of encouragement and mentorship especially from persons they don't have any connections with (no form of relativeness).

That not withstanding it takes oens determination to go far and think such determination is what every newbie needs in themselves before a third party can come in.
2791  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Another warning for every NEWBIE! on: May 20, 2022, 07:28:08 AM
I know most of us here already knew what happened to $LUNA but for the sake of beginners, I want to reiterate and give a warning about investing and going all in on this market.

I saw a post online in our local group about money investing and he shared his experience their about losing all his life saving money because of $LUNA investment, this is very heart breaking and that guy really want to end his life which I hope he wont do it. This is why I want to list some of the reminders about crypto investment and I hope every beginners here won't do the same mistake.

CRYPTO INVESTING - SHORT REMINDER

1. DON'T USE YOUR SAVINGS FOR YOUR INVESTMENT ACTIVITIES - Use your separate funds if you are going to invest on any market and make sure that you are ready to lose that money because investing is not a guaranteed way to make profit, so have some funds for this.

2. DON'T BORROW MONEY - Many still do the same mistake like this and when the market turns to negative, they are also drowning and the situation will get worst simply because they use the money which is not them. If you want to become profitable, save for your capital first.

3. DON'T BE GREEDY - If you already lose money, you should stop for a while and study again so you can know what's wrong with your strategy and start analyzing again so you can do better next time.
I agree with you to some length about greed, but sometimes in business greed can take someone to higher level. For instance, as the OP said one should stop and look at what's wrong with the previous strategy then do some analysis. What if in the period I am doing my analysis in the waiting that was when the market boomed and pumped up, that if I had invested immediately after the lost maybe I would have regained but no cause I was strategizing and analyzing in waiting.
2792  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction causing victim to scam his family on: May 19, 2022, 04:01:53 AM
They've learned it from the best casinos with self exclusion services but kept sending emails. The power of email + the $50 free bet made Boyle Sports very successful.
Going through the story from the OP am not sure the man's conviction to stop gambling was a strong determined one. I guess it's one of these normal gamblers expression of stopping from playing gambling especially when they have had their worst loss only to see them back the next day.

On the other hand Boyle sport was just doing normal legit gambling business, by crediting his account with the said amount of dollars, every other casino does that as a way to promoting their company. So the man should be blame for not having a locus of control towards his gambling lifestyle.

And come to think of it, he's said to be an addicted alcoholic, so am not sure all the money went into gambling, alcohol must have taking a sum too. So should the alcohol (brewery) company be said to be blamed too? No!
2793  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question about Become Newbies to High Rank Member on: May 18, 2022, 09:22:55 AM
Haven gone through some of the policies and procedures of the forum even as a newbie I'll suggest you just get your focus off from haste ranking up and focus on good threads and comments that is quality driven and educative to someone for that's how I see merits and ranking flow from based on many things I have read here.
2794  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Gathering and forum should be an opportunity for all to grow on: May 18, 2022, 08:57:16 AM
OP, this is a post you should print out and read aloud every morning. Because there are a lot of similar motivational posts in the section for beginners, but unfortunately, few people really follow them. I find posts like this from newbies a little silly since such words should come from people who can talk about their experience.

But I read your posts and I see that you are trying, so I will give you the first merit as a motivation for further development. If you ever think that being on this forum is a waste of time, just go back to your topic. Try not to give up, and you will certainly join this society and will be able to give advice on diligence to future newcomers.
I think I need to connect to this, not just as a newbie but as one that believe someday every benefits others are obtaining from the forum due to their unperturbed efforts given in past will definitely acrue to me only if I don't give up here.
2795  Other / Off-topic / When lending turns to problem to the lender. on: May 18, 2022, 08:48:18 AM
Finding someone to just lend you money haven't been than easy these days, and this Amy not be unconnected to the reality that lending in most cases has now become a problem to the lender instead of gratitude that should have been the result from the borrower.

Some may ask, what do I mean by the statement above Huh In brief I'll try to be specific in explaining that with a real life story.

A friend of mine lend $300 to someone he has known for a very long time without any collateral or interest, and the person with a honey-tongue promised to pay back in three weeks time. Three weeks went by even to the fourth week and my friend didn't get any payment back or even a word from the person.

Three 3weeks turned to 3months the money was not yet paid to him, with persistent request of the money by this friend of mine from the borrower he lend his money to whom have refused to pay back with frivolous excuses, to the extend he (borrower) started threatening my friend to desist from disturbing him about the $300.

To cut the whole story short the matter later ended up in police custody then to court.

Now looking at this scenario would you blame anyone wether close or distant friend or relative who refused from given you a loan after witnessing such incidence or would you say it's just a means to an excuse??

Let discuss about it.

2796  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gratitude should be an attitude on: May 13, 2022, 12:20:39 PM
Saying thank you should be an habit that every sensible human being must try to inculcate. When one is gifted and he refusesto say thank,he is simply sending a message to the gifter that he does not deserve the gift. The ability to say thank goes a long way into the giver's life because giving is not easy that is why when one gives,he should be appreciated.
Being ungrateful is a sign of selfishness and greediness. It is also a sign of foolishness, therefore ,in our endeavours,we should atleast try to appreciate the little people give to us,it's only shows that we are sensible and that we appreciate what we are given.
Many out there lack the wisdom that saying thank you alone in little things open doors for greater ones from same gifter and others too.

2797  Other / Off-topic / Re: A Letter To My Newbie Friend, Someone I Mentor. on: May 13, 2022, 12:13:38 PM
This phase shall pass surely but. Do people still put all their eggs in one basket these days? If someone was to ask me my answer obviously would have been NO, not until I had to read this thread.

Sorry my friend but learn not to put all you have in one investment no matter how promising it might look or how many years of good records it claims to own.

Smiles Grin... How cool would it be getting your finger chopped off. Not so cool at all right?
A finger print for a private key is gonna be the easiest means of getting access to anyone's wallet as it will increase security risk even to life

Come to think of those set of people that sleeps deeply like hell, their fingers  could easily be used to access their wallet by their close friends or relatives while asleep.
Don't you think so?
2799  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't ever quit your job to trade crypto. on: May 09, 2022, 03:28:24 PM
Quiting ones job or source of income because of another source that rises is like cutting down away orange tree because you have  juice.

Why not keep the tree while you enjoy the juice together. Cause definitely the juice will finish but the orange tree will always replenish.

At the end many streams of income is all that matters together.
2800  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Create a Quality Post (Topics). on: May 09, 2022, 03:12:33 PM
You shared some unique tricks about to create quality topics. I will say if someone wants to create any quality topic or a quality reply on a topic must research about the topic properly and should describe it properly to everyone in this forum including new users.
When making a quality post OP should have the attention what are audiences going to learn. And describing a quality post to the beginners is much important.
Your comment really added much to all I have read from the original thread, and it's pretty clear I need to do better here.
