Seems like i'm one of the first to receive his new model T... So it's time to gloat, unbox and review http://www.mocacinno.com/modelt/IMG_20180319_164719.jpghttp://www.mocacinno.com/modelt/IMG_20180319_164751.jpghttp://www.mocacinno.com/modelt/IMG_20180319_164823.jpghttp://www.mocacinno.com/modelt/IMG_20180319_164902.jpghttp://www.mocacinno.com/modelt/IMG_20180319_164953.jpghttp://www.mocacinno.com/modelt/IMG_20180319_165052.jpgI haven't had the chance to move some of my funds from my old trezor to my new one, so i can't comment on the usability... However, i can comment on the following things: - satoshilabs was upfront and honest about the timeframe being delayed. They kept me in the loop when they needed to extend their deadline
- the package arrived 3 working days after being sent, the package was fine
- the tamper-proof sticker over the usb-c port is really annoying... It took me a really long time to remove the glue, since i was affraid to use dissolvants
- I had to install the new bridge. For some reason it didn't work on my home laptop (debian), so i ended up using my work laptop (windows 10). I'll figure out what went wrong on a later date, i just wanted to play with my new toy
- I found it strange that i had to go to the beta wallet to initialise my new device
- I found it strange to see a 12 word seed instead of a 24 word seed. Sure 128 bits is enough, but still, it felt odd
- I have small fingers, the touchscreen works perfectly for me, i do doubt that somebody with big hands will feel the same tough..

Hello, Please I want to announce something but don't want to write it, I just want to post it exactly as it is on website because I see a lot people doing the same.
Do you mean you want to post a quote? In that case, just copy the text from the website, create a new post this way [ q u o t e ] copy'd text [ / q u o t e ] quoted from: "link to the website whose text you copied" ofcourse, you need to remove the spaces in [ q u o t e ] and [ / q u o t e ] An other option would be to take a screenshots, upload it to a free image host and post this image followed by the url where people can find the original text. There is nothing wrong with copy/pasting most content, as long as you clearly indicate you are quoting, and also post the url where people can find the original. If you just copy/paste text and pose it as your own, you'll get banned tough!

It’s too much wallet in the market now. Should using multiple categories or a category and which category is good?
for me, the best purse for bitcoin is for the blockchain, and for the ether - my ether wallet and all. Exactly like i predicted, just a bit slower than i tought... It took a newbie about 25 minutes to recommand blockchain.info after i made a post explaining why it's a bad idear to use an online wallet (i even bolded this prediction to make sure people wouldn't just mis it). I'm actually pretty good at predicting the future. My next prediction is that by the end of the day, at least 5 more new members start posting in this thread, completely ignore every other reply in this thread and immediately say they adore blockchain.info
|
|
|
Example : MEW wallet or Blockchain.info is good?
Apparently, i was still editing my post while you were replying, but even in the post i quoted i already advised AGAINST online wallets. This defenatly includes blockchain.info. MEW is safe IF you use it in combination with a hardware wallet, but i personally wouldn't use it by using a json file, entering a mnemonic or by entering a private key directly... BTW: MEW = My EtherWallet. You're in the bitcoin subforum, if you have extra questions about MEW, i'd suggest you asked them in the altcoin subforum, that way you'll get more to-the-point answers.

It’s too much wallet in the market now. Should using multiple categories or a category and which category is good?
I have a hard time comprehending your question... Are you asking which wallet is the "best wallet"? In this case, there is no simple answer. However, eventough there are dozens of wallets out there, i'd only recommand a handfull to somebody else. 1) i'd advise everybody to stay away from online wallets, exchanges or casino wallets... This discards most of the wallets out there. This negative advice also covers the immer so popular "blockchain.info" wallet (eventough in 5-10 minutes, i'm pretty sure several newbies will post that they recommend blockchain.info because they have 0.000001 BTC on this wallet for 2 weeks now, and they never had a problem). Rule of thumb: "if you're not the only one in controll of your private keys, you're not the only one in controll of your funds". 2FA, SSL,... It doesn't really matter, it reduces the odds of falling for a phising scam, but if the website ever goes bancrupt, gets hacked, turns scam,... you stand to lose everything. 2) If you don't hold a substantial amount of btc, a desktop wallet on a clean, secured PC usually suffices. If you have loads of diskspace and a lot of time to sync, i'd recommand bitcoin core or armory. If you don't have a lot of diskspace or a lot of time, i'd recommand electrum. 3) If you hold a substantial amount of btc, i'd suggest using a hardware wallet, i'm a fan of ledger and trezor. 4) if, for some reason, you hold a substantial amount of btc but can't (or won't) buy a hardware wallet , learn to create a paper wallet in the correct way 5) an airgapped wallet also works, altough you'll need a spare pc that never goes online. Tutorials for setting up core and electrum can be found using google. 6) a mobile wallet should only be used for pocket change (in my opinion). There are a couple older mobile wallets like coinomi, but since i seldomly use them, i can't really recommand any.

I like the basis of the idear, however i do think there are a couple high-ranking members that post only very seldomly... If they have only made 1 or 2 posts since the merit system was introduced, they risk losing their sigspace if this system were to be automated. Granted, those members aren't in a sigcampaign to begin with, but they do use their sigspace to promote threads, promote their own businesses, insert funny quotes, show the address of their tipjar,...
I guess it might be better if mods had the power to disable signatures for everybody who received less than 1 merit in the last month... That way the mod could use his own judgement wether or not the person in question is a spammer, or just a very low volume poster that just didn't receive any merits because of their low post frequency.
Just my personal opinion tough...

Can we post our referral links here or is it against the rules? I posted a link and it got removed. Asking for advice
In my opinion, you should introduce about project that you want to attach your referral link. I think it will more helpful with everyone than you just post your links and it will be accepted and welcome At the time you posted this, the thread had only 2 posts: the OP and my reply. My reply explicitly pointed to a sticky'ed post made by a mod that also has tons of green trust. Because I knew most people would be to lazy to check this link out, I even quoted the exact rule that forbids the posting of reflinks. Did you read my post and just ignored it, or didn't you even put enough effort in your post to read 1 simple reply? Simply put: as I've proven in the post right above your post, it is forbidden to post reflinks EVEN if you "introduce about the project". The advice you're giving can get the OP banned, ignored or tagged red

my bitcoin transaction is not showing up. i wonder why? i look at bitaccess and it doesnt show any numbers. everything says 000. i remember seeing it block cypher then the next day it shows 0000.. what is wrong? this happen to me through coinsource where i waited 2 weeks. today it has been 5 days already.
i deposited through a bitaccess atm. any one with experience?
I haven't used an ATM yet (ever), did they give you a receipt? If so, this this receipt contain a transaction id? If you don't care about your privacy, could you share the address you entered and/or the transaction id? With the amount of information you shared, only the original company (bitaccess) might be able to help you.... However, if you deposited 2+ weeks ago, there is defenately a reason to get worried. Transactions are broadcasted instantly, and with the very low average fee we're seeing lately, a broadcasted transaction usually ends up in a block pretty soon. So, you either entered a wrong address, they didn't broadcast your transaction or they messed up the transaction.... Those are the only things i can imagine happening right now.

Any specific push tx services you guys would recommend?? So that there is no way we can run into that specific problem (of censorship)?
But not web-based, preferably something that can be used through an API or something similar.
Thanks in advance!
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1938621.0This post contains links to several tx pushing services (including mine), AND a link to Coding Enthusiast's Pusher, which is an application that uses a bunch of API's to allow you to push your tx to several nodes...

Since nobody else seems to be doing anything, i gave a neutral tag to the account referencing this thread... However, since i'm not in DT, i doubt many people will read my warning. OP: if you ever recover your account, please PM me to remove my tag.

warning signs: - no address on their about page
- no contact info
- no online help
- free xyz domain
- no ssl
- no vendor endorsement
- no vouches
- no images proving any stock or purchase
- only 1 day old
- whois info not hidden, but has the name of a private individual i can't directly find using google
- whois info says owner lives in franklinville VA 22134 US, i don't know how US zipcodes work, but this site says it's the zip for QUANTICO, not franklinville: https://www.unitedstateszipcodes.org/22134/#cities
- company name only has 3 hits via google
- the image on the main page (http://bitmain4less.xyz/) was taken from any of these other sites : https://bitshopusa.com/pages/about-us , https://digigoldllc.com/ or https://cryptominersusa.com/... Or all 4 sites are owned by the same owner (since all 4 look like a potential scam)
- logo's on mainpage are stored locally
- it seems like no payment gateway was used, you pay directly to the vendor eventough the mainpage shows a (locally hosted) image of the (unknown to me) gateway gourl.io
- The quality of the site seems a little basic for my taste, especially for a company that sells such expensive equipment
These are warning signs i personally wouldn't ignore... I wouldn't call it a 100% scam, but my gut feeling about this one isn't good at all.

It's not an official app, it's not written by Theymos (or any other admin), however, the person that did write the app did an official announcement here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=327238.0Personally, i wouldn't run this app on my device... Unless i got the sourcecode from the dev, browsed trough it and compiled it myself... But it seems other longtime members did try it out and didn't file a scam report afterwards... Still, i wouldn't trust it, but it's certainly not proved to be a scam.

For what it's worth, the signed message checks out. I've checked out the staked address to, and it was staked in 2014 (which is certainly good enough). Have you followed the steps in this stickie'ed post? : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0In the meantime, you can always try to send the same information to one or two people in default trust and ask them pollitely to give a red tag to the hacked account to warn everybody not to deal with the hacked account untill it's recovered.

you are in the bitcoin subforum, so i'll give a bitcoin answer: there is no pc you can ever build that will mine bitcoin profitably. Even worse, even the best GPU with free power will make about ~20 cents a year at current diff, block reward and btc price. Since such a GPU costs ~$350, it'll take you (on average) 1750 years before you mined enough BTC to pay back your initial investment IF you got your power for free, IF the diff didn't rise, IF the block halvings were removed with a hardfork and IF the price didn't drop. Here's an auto-updated list of some non specialised mining hardware, it's hashrate, it's power consumption and it's revenue @ certain fixed power prices: https://www.mocacinno.com/nonspecialisedmininghardware.phpBottom line: - you can't mine BTC profitably with a cpu (any cpu) - you can't mine BTC profitably with a GPU (any gpu) - you can't mine BTC profitably with a cellphone (not with it's cpu, not with it's gpu) - you can't mine BTC profitably with a botnet (a botnet with 1000 PC's with an i7 will make you less than $10 a year if you run them at 100% load 24/7 for a full year) - you can't mine BTC with a supercomputer (since a supercomputer is basically just a collection of hundreds of 'nodes', which are basically small, stipped servers)

I think banned account cannot be recovered. so, you have to register for new account.
It isn't the account that gets banned, it's you (as a person). If you are permabanned, and register a new account, it's called "ban evasion", which is a bannable offence if you get caught. You are allowed to create a new account and open 1 thread (only 1) in the meta subforum to discuss your ban. That's all... If you PM, open a second thread, create a thirth account, you're evading your ban and risk your other account(s) to be banned as well. If you are permabanned and you don't know why, create this new account, open 1 new thread in meta and ask why you were banned... After you get your explanation, log out and stay away from the forum for a couple of months.... When several months have passed, you can (potentially) appeal using the one (and only) allowed thread in meta you opened earlyer and hope the admin is in a really good mood and gives you a second chance (altough i wouldn't get my hopes up)
