2781  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is the Best type of Government? on: August 13, 2021, 09:56:11 PM
I've always thought that the best type of government is one that allows itself to be challenged. Most of us live in capitalist democracies, and of course the phrase is an oxymoron, but that's what makes it valuable. Capitalism works for the benefit of the elite, but democracy works for the general public, and acts as a brake on the excesses of the wealthy. Certainly it doesn't work perfectly in practice, but at least it works to an extent... which is better than any other form of government.

Unfortunately, most of the governments claim themselves to be  democracies who care for the general public, but in reality they are inspired by capitalist. The leaders in the most political parties are corrupt, so how can you expect that those people will really care for the general public. They only care to fill their own money banks  Angry
2782  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Six people killed in mass shooting in Plymouth, England on: August 13, 2021, 01:06:50 PM
I feel like some reporters are way too quick to default to the easy "explanations", oh look he was a Trump supporter, or he posted on incel sites or whatever. Usually it's far more complicated than that. For someone to kill people, to kill children, the person has to have serious mental issues. We'll have a "nocoiner who sold at $10k" rampage one day and we'll all be implicated once they dig up our Bitcointalk posts deriding that person.

Well, there's usually always some motive for mass killings and it's not just a random act of violence, but most incels will have some mental health issues: anxiety, depression etc which will contribute to their lack of success with the opposite success and it's a vicious cycle from there. From the video I saw I'd say it looks like a textbook case of an incel lashing out at the world.

I never heard of such mass killing of people in the UK. This indicates that crime rates are increasing in UK too. By staying too long at the home during lockdown and losing jobs etc during the pandemic, more and more people have become depressed and ratio of criminals are increasing in the society.

I will blame government for not providing them proper facilities after the pandemic.
2783  Other / Meta / Re: Do You Believe a New Forum Software Will Attract More Users to Bitcointalk? on: August 13, 2021, 12:38:42 PM
For me, a newcomer who has just joined the forum for a month, here are the most authentic exchanges. Every user will express his inner thoughts and suggestions. I like it here.
When I came here, I published my first article. Although some people disagree with my approach, I respect them. Everyone has different opinions and opinions. This is where people need to learn and discuss, otherwise there will never be progress.
Compared to fancy pages, I prefer the simplicity and content of the bitcointalk website. There is much more knowledge that can be learned here than I thought. In the future, more novices like me will come to the forum and grow slowly.

No site is 100% perfect as there is always an element of improvement. The admins can bring many technically and physical appearance changes in the forum which can make the forum more attractive. However i oppose the ideas like making the forum more animated or video oriented. Simplicity is the trademark of bitcointalk and it should never be compromised.
2784  Economy / Economics / Re: Can the world be without poverty on: August 12, 2021, 08:55:06 AM
Poverty is a relatively relative term, and everyone can define poverty.
If poverty is eliminated, it means that the world is equal and fair.
The most basic way to get rid of poverty is to rely on labor and get how much money you do. But it is difficult to cross classes. The more you go up, the more you need to broaden your horizons and increase your knowledge reserves.
Poor people are slow to accept information and will accept wrong information.
Learn to control risks, control risks, control desires, and save money.

No matter how equally you divide the wealth there will still be some people who have more money and and still many people who have less money.
Without this the difference in the world we cannot find people who are willing to do odd jobs or fulfill them.
2785  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You got a pifzer ? Then you can be eligible for lottery in Poland. on: August 11, 2021, 10:17:44 AM
Here in the Philippines, most people are not yet vaccinated since some did not go to their respective schedules of vaccination. When the delta variant suddenly hit our country, our government announced another ECQ which prohibited the public from leaving their respective premises without any proof of showing their vaccination cards.

Two to three (2-3) days before the implementation of the ECQ, people flocked all of the vaccination sites in hopes of getting a free shot. The bad thing is, all of these unvaccinated people stormed through the gates without observing all the guidelines of social distancing, etc. So, the only way to get people vaccinated is to literally restrict their freedom!

I will call it negligence on the part of the government who did not allow enough time for the people to get vaccinated and put restrictions. This made people panic and they decided to rush to the vaccination centres and then of course there is a risk of getting covid when a lot of people around together without following any extra sops.
2786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Replacing U.S Dollar as the global Reserve Asset on: August 11, 2021, 10:05:40 AM
This is simply a pipe dream and not something that governments will ever allow. Do not underestimate governments commitment to preserve their local Fiat currencies. The US as a economic super power, will protect that status with violence... like we have seen with previous administrations. (Bush)

The reason why they are doing this, is because they can manipulate "supply" of the reserve currencies and they do not have that power to manipulate Bitcoin. The closest you will ever see Crypto currencies becoming a reserve currency, is when governments develop their own government coins (GovCoins) ..where they control the mining/protocol/developers ...etc.  Angry

Yes, that's true. The government will never allow Bitcoin to take control as a alternative currency. If this happens then the government will lose control over the financial system of the country. And no government will allow this.
2787  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: signs of gambling addiction on: August 08, 2021, 11:09:04 AM

I see one reasonable option for spending such a large part of income on gambling - if a person has huge savings and current income does not have much influence on his life, then if he wants, he can even spend 100 percent on gambling. All other options look dubious to me, although I am not saying that this is an addiction, just a wrong decision (in my subjective opinion).

Only those person who has a huge savings and current income are for sure who has also the guts to over spend or lets say it is only a part of their excess money. For them it was an excess money but for us or personally speaking for me a 20% of income to allot for my entertainment or gambling activities is such a huge amount. We may take over spending as gambling addiction which is definitely true but for me I look for myself a sign of not having a good sleep at night while keep on thinking of my gambling activities.

The general rule is that, only gamble away the money that you are willing to spend on. If you rely on gambling as a means for a source of income, then chances are that you would lose more money on the process.

Remember that if you rely on a source of income that is measured by odds and risks, then there can be no absolute stable flow of income on your end. You would end up having to bet more than you actually planned for which can result in accumulation of long term debts.

If you don't manage money properly, then its most likely that you are being addicted in gambling. If you have separate funds for gambling and you have a proper gambling plan, only then you will be able to earn money from gambling. With money management, you will be addicted to gambling and lose a lot of money.

2789  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are you a healthy unvaccinated person? on: August 08, 2021, 10:07:31 AM
I shouldn't say it here because it's a shame but no I have to admit that I'm not anymore a healthy unvaccinated person. And the pain is not only physical, it's mostly psychological. Because yes I let myself be raped like a coward to get a green pass now mandatory in my country. I feel like an Untermensch.

These days no one is healthy. Those who are vaccinated and those who are not, both of them are psychological sick.

I wonder when we will be able to overcome this covid pandemic. Its almost 2 years and no sign of recovery  Sad
2790  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you trust the co-vid19 vaccine ? on: August 08, 2021, 09:55:42 AM
If the world does not control it then shorltly then two third of the people of the world will die.

Switch off your TV and go get some fresh air  Cool

Even if you don't have covid-19, turning on your TV will make you feel that pandemic is very near you and is not over. They are spreading negativity among the people by telling figures about the covid19 infections and deaths. Stay away from media and you will be fine.
2791  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Abortion should be banned. on: August 08, 2021, 08:31:41 AM
what's your take on that?

Why would it be banned, people should have that right to decide if they want to have a baby or not, there are some circumstances that may warrant you to get pregnant and last thing on your mind will be having the child

Yes, people have right to decide if they need to have baby or not but they need to decide first. This is no excuse to have sex first and then realize that she is pregnant and need Abortion.
Abortion is a like killing babies and its a sin in some regions.

Abortion is indeed killing of infants/babies, and it is true that one should not initiate sex and have baby if they're not ready (financially, physically, and mentally), but sex is different now compare to olden days. We have now contaceptives to avoid unprecedented pregnancies. But there are cases that this contraceptives are not working or irresponsibility of the couples.

We have to blame the parents, but not the baby.

The baby has nothing to do with this, and as much as possible we should avoid the baby growing up in the household with irresponsible parents with no financial means to support the needs.

Again the trend of abortion is more in boy friend girl friend situation, where they involve in intercourse and they have no other option but Abortion to hide their sin.
In married couples, this trend is very less and normally married couples has no objection in having babies.
So you can say that people do abortion to hide their sins.

2793  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [NEWBIES] Earn your first Merit. on: August 07, 2021, 03:21:40 PM
I can see you will be full member soon, nice one.

1. You must have zero merit to participate
Don't you think this can encourage spammers, try to add to the rules to make it discourage spammers to start opening new accounts. Rule like anyone that just open new account should not apply. Also I think newbies should be counted as newbies irrespective of their amounts of merit earned, but it is your merit, you have your own opinion, just an advice.

Correct the second 4 to 6.

Sure, but spammers might get that one merit and not much more besides that, so if some slip through the cracks I don't see any harm in it. I think most of us can spot spammers from a mile away and make it hard for them to rank up so that should be enough of efort.

There might be few newbies who are relatively new and had not earn merit till now. They may benefit from this offer. However, we don't need to worry because OP is clever enough to check the post history before granting any merit. Brand New accounts or only bounty hunters will not get anything.

2796  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Olympics is a disaster on: August 06, 2021, 09:19:08 AM
We all know the Olympic Committee loves to accept bribes (see previous scandals) and the Japan economy kinda needs it, but now you know why 80% of people in Tokyo dont want the olympics.

I haven't really followed it closely but it seems like a waste of money and unlikely to help Japan's economy. I mean all recent Olympic games have been wasteful but in this case they don't even have the benefit of tourism to offset the cost.

I'm not sure if the games will have much of an impact on COVID-19 spread. With no fans and with aggressive testing/quarantines for athletes they might be able to get away with it.

Even with all these things, the authorities had to conduct the tornament. They can't delay it further because in 3 years time 2024, we have the next Olympics.
Japan may not have collected money from tourism or crowds but there is a lot of sponsorship these days. We cannot say that Japan did not earn any money by conducting the Olympics.
When we can have Euro 2020 and other sports in these times then why not Olympics ?
2797  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: August 06, 2021, 08:32:46 AM
Last time I checked I think the odds were somewhere around 5.5 - 6 for China to win the most medals. Not sure if anything has changed in the meantime, though.
Summer Olympics history has been dominated by the USA. In the last six Olympics, the USA has won the most medals in five of them.

The US usually takes home the most medals, and this year will be no exception. They are one of the few countries that take many athletes and participate in almost all sports.

The difference this year is that it will probably not be the country that will take the most gold medals.

This time china is leading the gold medal race as they have got 34 gold medals 🏅 while united states have managed to get 30 gold medals. Anything can still happen because there are still 2 days left in the Olympics and the numbers can quickly change. China and United States are clearly leading the medal race.
2798  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do any casinos offer cryptocurrency staking? on: August 06, 2021, 07:40:11 AM
You can stake your bitcoins at freebitco.in.

Any amount bigger than 30k sats gets paid daily from the annual rate of %4

Why would anybody be happy with an annual rate of 4% when practically every DeFi platform pays far more... even non-custodial ones.

I understand investing in casino bankroll is a good way to diversify your investment portfolios, but at least go for more than 4%.

Seems like some technical wizardry should allow people to bet their tokens while they're staked if the casino were to allow it. It could simply divide the wallet into two pools: staked and unstaked, ensuring people can only wager against either of these bankrolls.

Would like to see if any casino owner can chime in on why this hasn't been done yet.

I think no one keeps their bitcoin on freebitco  for staking and getting the 4 percent annual profit. It's just a bonus which people get by having the amount in freebitco wallet. This also discourages people to withdraw the gambling profits as people get some Satoshi added in their wallet on daily basis.

Starting after this ronud, payment tiers:

Was it my impression or the value per post dropped?

By looking at the values in Satoshi, yes the pay per post has been dropped but if you see the value of bitcoin and convert & measure in dollars, then the rates are fairly good.
Also bitcoin is looking to break the resistance , so impact will be even more lower Smiley

I would also like to work for the op , but only if I know he is really paying and the work is legal. Sadly he is not using any escrow service.
