2781  Other / Meta / Re: Hey, is there a way to delete my account? on: July 12, 2022, 12:57:13 PM
if this is authoritative https://bitcointalk.org/myips.php I would say that the IP address is remembered only for 30 days. at least that's how I see it for my account.
Thank you. I was looking for the link to find the correct retain time. I was in a doubt if that was for 3 months or 6 months. That's why I did not put a time there.

Quote
I'm very curious, about what kind of trouble connecting an IP address with an account on the forum can cause?
Finding location could be a good reason. Many users do not use vpn/tor. With the IP addresses you will at-least know their location.
2782  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nitrogensports (Nitrobetting) are scamming, beware. on: July 12, 2022, 11:13:04 AM
Any update for this case?

Yeah, the story from their side is that they were not okay with me placing multiple bets of the same kind on the same outcome

Quote
We really appreciate you time to explain how you are placing so many bets in so shot time, our system trigger an alert on this cases due to the behavior on your account, and for this reason was blocked, we cant stop our system to do so because it settings are made to find strange behaviors on the accounts.
Clearly they warned you back in the January but still you decided to continue with them.

I am okay with them banning my account and zeroing the balance, but i've accumulated a fair share of money only from affiliates and i am not able to withdraw those.
It's a problem. According to their terms and conditions if this does not violate the terms of affiliate then you should continuing to get the affiliate commissions.
2783  Other / Meta / Re: How can i get merit point and how much merit can make me Sr, Hero, Legendary? on: July 12, 2022, 08:24:18 AM
I am a bounty hunter in this forum. How can I increase my rank by earning my merit points. and how much merit can make me higher rank like Sr, Hero, Legendary?
There are no category to earn merit. You need to convince others who has spendable merit to send you. Don't ask for it but earn it. When you make good posts which worth to read then you will earn it from members. If you continue posting poof of authentication then you will never earn anything.

I am curious to know, how did you get the 5 merits you already have?
2784  Other / Meta / Re: [Merit] Legendary To Newbies Distribution Concern & Problem! on: July 12, 2022, 08:04:47 AM
There's a flaw in these statistics: Newbies with Merit don't stay Newbie for long.
So the real way is not legendary to newbie but legendary to member or at legendary to 120 day or less fourm member.
This changed the whole thing. I would like to see the comparison for account older to 120 days vs Legendary. Hopefully we will not see much difference and there will be no concern too.

I am now debating to delete this or post it.
I write over 100 posts a month that I never post.
I never looked at your post number. It just got my attention, 39396 is a crazy number 🙄
2785  Other / Meta / Re: Another classic sale for Bitcoin, just after Bitcoin Pizza on: July 12, 2022, 07:42:25 AM
I don't know Meta or Bitcoin discussion is a best board for this topic. I see both fits with the content. For now, I leave it in Meta.
It does not fit in the meta at all. Bitcoin discussion is the best fit for it.

The trend for everything is to find who is first. Pizza for bitcoin was the first bitcoin in exchange of physical item. Another fact to be noted that Pizza for bitcoins happened in the May 2010 when bitcoin has no name, a new thing, value was almost $0. But El Cabron had his listing after around two years from that time. By then Bitcoin was fairly known to a bigger circle.
2786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The number of hodlers on: July 12, 2022, 12:28:21 AM
I won't lie, I saw this drop incoming, I sold near $50k's and bought back at $32k, then sold at $64k in Nov.
The chart pattern which was forming was double top with bearish RSI Divergence in which RSI is was going down, Price was going up.

Once it came towards $48k, I was able to see it forming another similar pattern which happened in 2018 that it will touch $22k.
So I bought at $21.5k for 50%, and DCAing the rest 50% throughout the year.
How could you be that perfect in your chart reading? Interesting.
I am like when I really need cash then I take a good portion and sell. Many times I found myself, after selling some the market started to move up and up like 10x LOL
By the way, I am DCAing from long time. It was slow when the price was over $30k but now pushing it again.
2787  Other / Meta / Re: [POLL] DT2 Status; how many net inclusions should it take? on: July 12, 2022, 12:12:08 AM
Such are the nuances of the DT system (such as it is) were @BitcoinGirl.Club to remove their DT trust in Dabs, Dabs would then be at DT1 (0) given theymos has seemingly become aware of this issue.
I should have done this few days ago when LoyceV was taking about inclusion from theymos but now it's done. Considering the overall situation I think for me right now a "~" for Dabs is appropriate.

400 years from now, thousands of dead people will include thousands of dead people on their Trust lists. And people on other planets will read back the posts from Bitcoin's early days. LoyceV says hi!
In 400 years there will be thousands or at-least millions? 🤣
2788  Other / Meta / Re: Hey, is there a way to delete my account? on: July 11, 2022, 01:17:12 PM
Even if you delete all your posts you should know that everything is archived and backed up in bitcointalk forum with multiple services from LoyceV and Ninjastic.
Sometimes it bothers me. I understand it's a public domain but I think everyone has their right to request their online activities down. In the forum you can do that, or at least you do it manually. But for Loyce.club, ninjastic.space, merit dashboard, bpip.org are they allowed to freely archive data, according to general law? Some terms and conditions really need to apply here which will be visitor friendly.

When I am creating a content, I am obliged by the terms and conditions of the forum. If there was a permission kind of something and if I was asked to give them permission to archive my data, I would say no.
2789  Other / Meta / Re: [Merit] Legendary To Newbies Distribution Concern & Problem! on: July 11, 2022, 01:04:20 PM
Merit discussions never gets old 🤣
How Legendary members share so many merits among themselves is a little strange, but it raises interesting questions. Grin
A brand new account or lower rank account is creating some very high quality posts. You are impressed. Sent out some merit. After few days you discovered the account is banned for plagiarism. This is one of the many scenario. But that does not mean that we should not send merit to lower rank member, we all do.

When a good post is coming from a higher rank member, you know that he is not fishing for merit or at least some part of the posts are genuine.

What are your suggestions/Excuse?
Don't make it boring.
2790  Other / Meta / Re: Where do you post most? on: July 11, 2022, 12:57:03 PM
I am going to make a guess of my top 3 boards without looking at the data on Ninjastic.space and then I will check to see if I was right.
How fun was it? I did the same. My all time had 32% only in Speculation board which is obviously in Wall Observer. And 30 days stat turned out completely different. I became meta, reputation and scam accusations regular. It's two totally complete different behavior.

As you can see in the iamge, before I joined bestchange, I was a user promoting gambling sites [casinos] and that made me active there a lot, but now it's the other way around.
I think many of us will find themselves in our situation.
2791  Other / Meta / Re: Stake your Bitcoin address here on: July 10, 2022, 06:07:35 PM
You should post your address here.
Try this https://brainwalletx.github.io/#verify
I get the legacy address which is 15zqfdJGdFp53j6mxCuCCMEvkaXKCEt9f6

The message they signed on the website also giving the same when you try without the address. You can verify the same message with the bech32 address. No doubt the addresses are for the same private key

2792  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Get your coins out of Coinify ASAP on: July 10, 2022, 05:41:38 PM
@BitcoinGirl.Club please don't take this as a bad criticism. It's the other way aroun, it's supposed to be a constructive criticism! Smiley
It's fine.
Honestly speaking, I do not understand politics, the political definition of democracy. For me democracy means power to be in peoples hand, not to a group of people but everyone. Bitcoin serves this for me. Running a full node is supporting the full bitcoin network. As long as your note is alive and safe, bitcoin exists.

last week in a news CZ said about 50 exchanges are in talks with him for acquisition,  who knows if a major exchange is not among aside Celsius, Three Arrows capital and Voyager that are already in trouble. this time is the time you should get your cryptos off exchanges if you haven't, if you're a day trader ensure you withdraw your funds after trading.
For many reason some people or actually people who are not concerned about security, keep their coins in exchanges. You need the coins on exchange to place the limit buy or limit sale, sometimes it takes long time. We need more decentralized exchanges. Until we have large adoption for the decentralized exchanges we will need to depend on the centralized exchanges unfortunately.
2793  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin could become the gold of 21th century? on: July 10, 2022, 05:03:01 PM
Isn't it already gold or fair to say more valuable than gold?
Being in the crypto space Bitcoin is more valuable for me than gold. I even sold gold to buy bitcoin at once.

That being said, Bitcoin is way less stable than gold, and I think gold is often associated with certain safety and stability that Bitcoin does not possess.
When bitcoin will have mass adoption and will be used as an established form of payment system worldwide then we will have the stability. It will still take a long time but some day we hope we will have it. We are still in diaper. Let us learn to walk, then eat food, learn wearing cloths and grow up.
2794  Other / Meta / Re: Hey, is there a way to delete my account? on: July 10, 2022, 04:13:52 PM
I am sure I missed the suggestion from others. You have only 155 posts.
Delete all replies, one by one.
Remove text from the topics you created, one by one.
Leave the account for few months. The IP and other data will be removed automatically since there is a certain period of time and after that all data will be wiped out from the database.

Logging in hasn't been too difficult either, and I just found a link that provides a captcha bypass.  https://bitcointalk.org/captcha_code.php
Logging in with tor without having this captcha bypass URL is impossible for me.
2795  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question for Legendary Members on: July 10, 2022, 04:05:03 PM
This refers to old-era Legendary accounts because back then there was no merit and you could reach that rank even if you were making posts in Off-topic all the time. These people came to make money and eventually became Legendary, but unfortunately they learned almost nothing along the way.
After the merit system introduced, you need to work hard to earn merit. This means users are focused on more good posts and creating a good post take times and improvement of knowledge too. Yes, merit changed the trend of spamming.

A few names come to mind, and I'm sure most of us know these names.
A lot of names. Some are still alive and some are resting in peace. Hal is at the top of my list. I never had a list but if I do then maybe I will have over 10 names I can easily put into that list.

On the contrary, I'm still a idiot, and routinely get things wrong. Although, that's part of the learning process. Time certainly isn't indicative of knowledge, I could've been here for 10 years, and only participated in the gambling section, whereas I'd be limiting my exposure to anything that would teach me more about Bitcoin.
I also feel idiot when I read users on Development & Technical Discussion, mining boards. I am glad that the only thing I learnt well is how to secure my wallet. If I consider the biggest achievement for me then this is at the top.
2796  Other / Meta / Re: Should there be a central warning board (not reputation) on: July 10, 2022, 03:11:37 PM
A lot of this type of post is done in the services announcement/discussion thread (if there is an active one) and on a separate te board like reputation.
A company that might go bankrupt and have difficulties sending people their coins is still a reputation matter.
Reputation board is more to the events involves forum users. With the current setting I think Service Discussion board is appropriate. After seeing OP this was the board that came first in mind.

The problem with the discussion threads / reputation / other sections is that if there have been no problems, nobody looks. This would be a section for a quick glance hopefully BEFORE the shit hit the fan.
Different people have different interest. Users who are frequent in altcoin discussions board or gambling discussions board they will never see what is going on in Meta or Reputation. With the new board it will be the same. We have a dedicated section for forum software, I think I have visited only few times. Any additional board will just add a board, I do not think it will effect at all.

Since this is related to service, it fits very well in service discussions.
2797  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question for Legendary Members on: July 10, 2022, 12:23:08 PM
You'll see on their posts that they have really deep knowledge about how cryptocurrencies and blockchain works.
Not all. Most of them do not even know how to secure their wallets 🤣

Honestly speaking I too sometimes find in confusing situations like I had moments few days ago. Legendary does not mean that you will know all technical details, specifications, setup. You do not become a geek. But you have better idea since you are with the community from long time and you are part of every pieces of history.

A brand-new user who never heard about this forum could have better knowledge then anyone else in the forum. There are many lower rank members who share excellent understanding about bitcoin tech and fundamental.

Legendary is just a rank. Because your rank is Legendary, you are not true Legend. To become a legendary (if that is your goal) you need to know how many posts you need to make to increase your activity, keep posting regularly and figure out how to earn merit. Spending few hours a day or even less than half an hour of a day, you could become a legendary someday.

Becoming a true Legend is something else. There are many round us but not many.
2798  Other / Meta / Re: Where do you post most? on: July 10, 2022, 12:07:55 PM
I'm a Liverpool fan and that makes me prefer to talk about it on the gambling board. I also liked some of the other teams in different leagues but that was just a constructive discussion. Here are the results for me.
It's same for me. I watch only two leagues. Premier league and champions league. In champions league only the matches of Liverpool and in EPL I do watch some other matches when I get time but mostly Liverpool matches. So when I watch a match then I have words to say. There are also other things to share too through out the season but when there are no football I am totally off from Gambling discussions board.

One thing is sure from this discussion. The signature campaigns influence our posting interest. If the signature I am in would have requirements to post in gambling sections then to fill up the target I would make posts there even if I did not have anything valuable to share.
2799  Economy / Reputation / Re: Iranus - Changed hands or not? on: July 10, 2022, 11:57:38 AM
When did I ask The Pharmacist to always support me when I'm in trouble? He's not my lawyer and I don't make any agreement with him. It's up to his decision to post or not post if I do some expose/investigation, because DT members isn't only him and I believe other DT members will look into my expose/investigation and decide if my work is wrong or correct.
Man, tell me you did not take it seriously. It was a joke, I have nothing against you but what I wanted to say that whatever you are doing will comeback to you because you will make a lot of people upset.

The topic was not to decide if people are liking your interest or not. The topic was about Iranus and if he was changed hand. What do you think now after having these two pages of discussions. Were you able to make any conclusion yet? I personally would be pissed if this was me.

Even the deletion posts can be from other users who started a thread, but I don't think many old posters deleted their thread. 1722 posts deletion is very high, other active posters didn't even reach 1722 though they're around this forum since 2013-2014.
Go to Wall Observer and ask for bob.
2800  Economy / Reputation / Re: Some mo-fo is tryin' to hack my ass. on: July 09, 2022, 07:56:36 PM
Are you using something like 2fa or google authenticator to secure your e-mail?
No I am not but I have a very strong password generated using password generator which is saved in a txt file. I have backup of the text file since there are no way for me to remember the password. It's too hard. Not bothered to have 2fa enable. This could be an extra layer of security though.

Subsequently, the account will be returned to the owner or painted red for theft, which makes the account almost useless.
If the original owner can prove it using the bitcoin address he used in past then it does not take long to recover the account. Once it is recovered then everyone removes their red paints. That's what I had when I lost my account and got back after contacting the recovery team.
