Or are you thinking that Bitcoin payments would be done via the same credit card terminals?

The same POS for all altcoins- for sure.  The same terminal with credit cards?  Of course!

Yes, exactly! I see this in the future with consumers leaning towards the most brandable coins.

2792  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am pretty confident we are the new wealthy elite, gentlemen. on: November 29, 2013, 03:32:42 AM
I would like to congratulate everyone who were the early adopters, investors, and accepters of Bitcoins. Despite the naysayers, you all were patient and held on to your Bitcoins, now you are reaping benefits that many thought were unimaginable. I am a late starter with Bitcoins, and just started accepting it as payment for my products and services (which I'll reveal in a later post), and I am very happy I made the decision. Maybe a movie should be made about the early adopters who became wealthy from Bitcoin, make it into one of those "underdog beats the odds" stories. Just a thought.

Congratulations to all the early adopters! Three cheers for sticking to your guns!  Cheesy  Grin  Cheesy
2793  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stable Bitcoin investments? on: November 29, 2013, 03:28:42 AM

In traditional currencies, it's pretty easy for even a financially clueless person to invest and get a modest nominal return. Can we ever expect to see these types of stable investments in Bitcoin or is that unlikely because of its deflationary nature? How does one put their bitcoins to work earning more bitcoins?

I'd suggest using BTC to invest in undervalued altcoins.

I attempt to make a case for this strategy in the video (vvvv) linked in my signature below.  Cheesy

2794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: GoldCoin™ (GLD) Thread - The Gold Standard of Digital Currency [OFFICIAL THREAD] on: November 27, 2013, 08:20:58 AM
The Goldcoin development team has just released mandatory software update V 0.7.1.6.

Fixed difficulty code again, added block queuing without client delay (threaded).
Should normalize difficulty in 1-3 days.
Mandatory forking update at block 11700.

Notes:
For those pulling from github you may have to use the following command before your pull will work:
git stash; git fetch origin; git reset –hard origin/master
Thank you for your patience during this time.

The development team is currently on standby in the event you require technical assistance.

goldcoin removed from http://www.coinwarz.com/ ?

You would need to ask them. Perhaps they are waiting until the difficulty adjustment is working.
2797  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should Goldcoin (GLD) be added to the scam/sh*tcoin list? on: November 27, 2013, 03:56:40 AM
I've had a rough day today. Made a few mistakes. Sorry about this whole mess.

The developers have just informed me that the new patch is now being tested.  Smiley
Any details on what exactly the patch will do/fix?

Both developers have been working all day on the patch. My understanding is that it will correct the falling difficulty and stabilize mining operations.

We should be able to provide an in-depth explanation within a few hours.

You were moderated because as you know you kept spamming the forum with your website advertising after being warned over and over again. I've already sent a PM to the OP of this thread apologizing because his post was pruned.

This is true, I just read the apology. Thank you for that MicroGuy. I was baffled as to why my first post was deleted. There was also a second that was deleted.

I do understand how some comments are irrelevant blatant spam and should be deleted. But I do not agree with "purging" threads of any posts that are contributed by BitcoinTalk members voicing their opinions and experiences, even if deemed "repetitive."

I basically want my goldcoins that I paid for, and I don't appreciate being censored at gldtalk.org for no reason, when I was just trying to ask questions about why my goldcoins were not transferring to the new wallet.

Thanks for these words of encouragement!  Cool

Sorry if I've been a little grumpy today I lit up some Frankincense in my office and became overwhelmed with smoke because I put too much frank on the fire. I kid you not. You know what they say about too much of a good thing.

Anyway that led to a massive migraine type head-thumper and sick stomach. If a hit the delete button too quick today that may have played a role.  Undecided  I feel better now and my office is finally clear of smoke.

In regards to the update, the guys are still turning a few dials and tightening a couple of screws.
