It's always given me an error before. I haven't tried in a long time though but we'll see.

Just sit down, read as many topics as you can, there is tons of information for new folks starting. Read for about 4 days, then if you have any questions, bam ask away buddy! When I first started I was on this forum for 18 hours a day just reading, for my first 2 weeks consuming everything I could. 18 hours a day. So sorry, I don't like it when people want shit spoon fed to them. Helping people that can't find the answers after putting in the work and effort to look for is totally different. The difference is the bum that has the sign that says "Feed Me" vs the guy that is willing to pump your gas or wash your windows. I'll help someone out willing to put forth some effort, not the bum with the free hands up sign.

Anyone know how to install nvidia drivers offline on windows without having to go through windows update?
I've always just done it through windows but when I move into the warehouse I'll be working off wifi and a hotspot for about a month until I can set internet up. Yes, it takes about a month for Spectrum/ATT etc to set up your appointment, it's bad.
Anyways just panning ahead if I can avoid using windows update would be awesome.
I've tried it via display drivers and trying to update there but it's never stuck, I've always had to turn windows update back on then do it via updating the entire system.
Thanks fam.

I might have a look at this soon, currently running Windows for my rigs but it's a pain to try and update them all. The one thing I am worried about it adding new miners, can this be done by myself or does it have to be done by SMOS?
I switched to SMOS from Windows months ago for the same reason, Windows is a huge pain. Windows is probably fine if you don't have a lot of rigs, I have 12, not a ton, but is enough to be a pain. Reliability/up-time has improved big time, I can go weeks at a time with no downtime or reboots. Trade-off being you're stuck mining what SMOS can mine, which is a decent selection of coins. You have a lot more flexibility in Windows for other coins. For me it was totally worth the switch. Would be really nice if SMOS had an Android/iPhone app! That's a pretty big fucking trade off being only able to mine what smos lets you mine. No thanks. Alexis78 isn't even on there and it's been a year, and look how long it took to get DTSM on there. No thanks. I'll take control myself.
I have ZERO problems running windows, I keep reading this guy has this problem this guy has that problem, unstable etc. It comes down to one thing. You didn't set up windows right, You really only need to turn off Update and literally 1 more thing, rigs run for months no issues.

Fwiw - I was a windows only guy. But phil and a few others here talking about smos all the time has me converted. The only problem with smos is no wifi. Which I have a few rigs on wifi to spread them out throughout my house.
What's the big sell of Simple Mining over say nvOC? simple mining allows me world wide access via his website. easy to manage as I have gear in multiple sites. I now run: 5 rigs with buysolar and the solar array 3 rigs with my buddy Ira at his office 5 rigs in my garage 26 a month for next to perfect control since I am mining about .6 zec a day or 18 zec a month . I can pay the fees for ease of management. Since buysolar is building a 3 stage of expansion array about 75 minutes from our homes. We will need ease of management that smos provides. we may do 17kwatts then 34kwatts then 51kwatts that is about 17 rigs then 34 rigs then 51 rigs over the next 2 years nvOC is free but it is more difficult to set up access and switching and rig restarts. if you have 1 location with under 5 rigs nvOC is fine. Just want to say thanks for the detailed post above with regards to SmOS and windows requirements for than motherboard. I currently run Windows only and don't have any issues. What would you say is the biggest drawback to SmOS? My concern is the speed of updates on miners. As currently I can compile new miners myself. I tried the smos hype and there are plenty of drawbacks, but if it helps some people that's great.
Some pros - Update rigs remotely - but you can do the same with windows and nodes installed so TIE Update GPU settings via web portal - you can also do this with other miner monitors but they offer better miners and configuration, so no point actually for smos GPUs did appear as soon as the rig booted, windows does sometimes make me install GPU's 1 at a time, also win update is slow AF dl'ing windows drivers needed. I guess being able to run off a USB stick is a pro.
Cons - smos is slow AF updating miners, they still don't have Alexis78 to this day. That's pretty pathetic. regular ccminer gets 300 Mh/s VS. 360 Mh/s on Alexis. That's huge. smos doesn't have wifi smos doesn't have alerts like other monitors, even a simple .bat file can give you telegram alerts for temps etc. smos doesn't allow you to easily install your own miners, you are stuck with what they give you and smos is slow AF doing any updates.
At the end of the day, I gave it a week to impress me but the smos hype for me was just that.
I don't know what all these problems people say they have with windows is being unstable etc, but I literally have zero problems with my windows rigs. I'm familiar with windows, it allows more customization, functions, miners, settings, configs and options.
I only have 10 rigs ATM so maybe my views will change when I finally get in the warehouse and expand. I doubt it though.

Personally I keep my mining hardware hedge at around 10-25% of my crypto holdings.
Be smart.

Damn I forgot I was going to buy Dash Lite and Monero earlier today then it goes and spikes lol. Well I'm not buying now dammit. I hate it when prices get driven up RIGHT when I'm about to buy.

Well -- good news on the ROI front. I began buying hardware in March.
I accelerated a bit buying in June... and I still have at least $25k in hardware I haven't brought online yet (I buy anything that's on sale so I don't miss out).
Even with all the extra hardware that isn't running yet... I am only 4-weeks away from getting back my entire investment! So that means all the hardware that IS running is well beyond paid for.
I am about to finish my 4th rack... and I already have all the GPUs, power supplies, and half the HP Z400s that I need for the 5th rack =)
Pretty exciting.
So you have 25k in hardware not being used, and let's just say another 25k in hardware for a total of 50k that you haven't earned your money back on. If you would have put that money in BTC instead of buying the machines you'd have 450,000$

Hello guys i dont know if its the right place to ask but maybe someone will know the answer and help me to optimize my mining rig.
I currently use 1080ti's and mining monacoin. I use default setting on everything and also normal ccminer. I get around 58MH/s per card which according to whattomine should give me little bit more than 6$. But the real revenue i get is 4-4.2$. I dont know why is that.
Does anyone got the same problem and maybe know how to fix it? I would be really glad for any kind of help.
Greetings
WTM is just a estimate, it's not set in stone. Most earnings are below what they est some higher at the end of the day, it's an estiamte. YMMV

JUST bin doing some research on this card and am seeing bad things about it it heats up very bad is one useing the MSI Armor 180ti cards feed back would be very appreciated mind was set till seeing this
I sold almost all my Armor MSI cards, I still have a few left and I don't like them. They use 2 8 Pins, not an 8+6, and yes, they run hot and come factory overclocked which I don't like

Hello,
I found a bug in simplemining.
When a mail with a '+' in the lhs is used for the account (like me+you@domain.com), the rigs will fail to register with the site and won't be visible in the dash board. The + is a perfectly valid separator, so I guess this is a bug.
Took me about 2 days to figure it out.
Yep, I figured that out a few weeks ago when I used smos for the first time, I use the + to see what sites are sending me spam and don't reg on sites that don't allow it. So if I started getting spam from say vyprbtc+smos@vyprbtc.com i would know it's smos sending me the spam.

The 1070/1070ti - are very good Equihash performer.
The 1080tis performs much better and powerful for NVIDIA specific multi-algos - currently running all my 1080tis with Snifferdog on ahashpool
snifferdog? LOL - that should be SniffDog - its basically another version of what aaronspace has been working on. Tried Nemos too. But this dog, is probably the most stable and doesn't crash Win10 rigs. I got 2 miner crashes that needed to be manually restarted. Also I call bullshit on the algo switching, I made less with the multi algo switching that mining straight lyrarev2. I did a full 24 hour test run and calculated the BTC per Mh/s - Sniffdog was only .005 mBTC/Mh/s which came out to .0021 BTC for 400 MH/s - now according to the profit switcher, ever single coin was always over $45-70/day so MINIMUM earned should have been 0.0031 BTC which it failed miserably. Cool program and all, but profit switching 100% did not work to increase profits, it actually decreased them by 30%

I have an empty warehouse (pretty big don't know the exact size off my head) the cost of rent is 10,000 a month. Use to be a grow operation so everything is super advanced electricity wise. The average industrial electricity rate is 2.18¢/kWh. I have around 500k-1mil budget, what supplies would I need for it to pay for itself plus profit.
turn the grow lights back on. make sure not to use any microbutinil. profit.

Hi guys, Can you help me out with this? Been getting this error since last night. It switched from neoscrypt and then this happens. Had idle hours because of this error. Thank you. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FikJJPPH.jpg&t=663&c=ohJtrRYX2Ok4wg) Yup, I've also been having this "stratum subscribe" error with zpool starting an hour or 2 ago. Something wrong with zpool again? when is something NOT wrong with zpool? =]
