281  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] 2 - 7950 MSI TFIII for 26 LTC Shipped to Canada ($390 Each) on: December 12, 2013, 03:36:30 PM
Looking to buy 2 - 7950 MSI TFIII GPUs. These must be the 3GD5/OC versions. (one 8 pin plug and one 6 pin)

I will pay 26 LTC shipped to Canada with tracking and shipping insurance.

These must be in good working order.

I cannot send cash. Already spent it on other 7950s. Might be able to find someone to convert my LTC into BTC.

282  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining for the little guy isn't dead on: December 12, 2013, 07:22:38 AM
But when the price of BTC settles back down to ~$100, your theory is totally screwed, OP.

This would take something catastrophic. Such as a virus, or a flaw in the code that locks everything up. Its not like a penny stock anymore, Chinas government is even talking about it so somethings brewing. If it does drop all the way txo $100, ill be cashing out my RRSPs and selling my toys to buy everything I can.

Not interested. I heard those aren't very good for mining.

Update: I'll throw in 5 powered risers with my Powercolor 7970

285  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 2 cards with different settings on cgminer on: December 10, 2013, 05:38:46 AM
Go to the mining software subform and find the original cgminer thread. Its huge and there is a good writeup by the author showing examples.

287  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow announces 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.49/Ghash on: December 05, 2013, 09:10:40 PM
I am trying to wire money through my bank, and my bank is saying that the Black Arrow Swift number does not match the address given. When they look it up, things aren't making sense. Also there is no BIC number. They are recommending to NOT to buy from this company, as it appears to be a scammer. They say any reputable company would have their info correct to make accepting money a straight forward process.

Black Arrow, please give me the correct details to send this payment to. Also i need a valid BIC number.
288  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Forced "On Hold For Refund" for all my Single SC orders on: May 17, 2013, 05:58:57 PM
Most companies don't like to do business with customers who are a pain in the ass. Contractors weed out bad customers all the time by providing high estimates to customers who seem like they will be a real pain the ass.

Most companies that extend their initial delivery date by 800% on a $2000 order aren't in business anymore. Its a nice system they got going on. Post some updates on their bfl forums, give absolutely no timeframes or concrete evidence to show that production is nearing. Apparently processing now means they are still revamping the prototype.

What's the rush when mining with asics is this proffitable? Just throw some water on the fire over on the bitcoitalk forums to get them to shut up for another couple weeks. If their are any bad ones, just give them refunds so they will stop giving us a bad reputation. This way we can keep the preorders rolling in.

I'm so glad I wasn't around here during the initial preorder time. I'd be furious with bfl. I bet when the difficulty jumps to 100,000,000 those asics are going to fly out the doors of bfl.
289  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Where i can get cheapest ATI Radeon 7970 ? mass buy on: May 17, 2013, 05:15:19 PM
I would suggest you try 1 or 2 out first. Most of the reports of "7970s" getting +700kh/s are hoaxes. The shittier 7970s have trouble reaching a stable 640kh/s. Find one you are happy with  before ordering 10 of them because all brands are not equal.
290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hashrate starts out high, then drops. on: May 16, 2013, 10:41:09 PM
Its normal for a cards hashrate to drop as it heats up. You are overclocking a card. Its like feeding an engine nitrous. They can handle some but there's a fine line to where they just get too hot with too much load.

Are you using auto-fan? I'd set the fan to 60-80 and tweak the temps/hashrates until they are solid, then leave it for 24 hours and see if it crashes.
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hashrate drops after second card fires up. on: May 15, 2013, 01:13:04 AM
7970s need "-g 2" for the maximum hashrate.  You'll need to run two instances of CGMiner with "-d 0" and "-d 1".

That was my original reason. I am running it with -G 2 now and its running alright, the 7970 is at 640kh/s and the 7950kh/s is at 470. Just need to do some more work on it. Lots or rejects.  Sad

7970 Powercolor AX7970 3GBD5-2DHV2
7950 MSI Twin Frozr 3GD5/OC

I removed the powertune as well. Doesnt seem to have any effect.
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hashrate drops after second card fires up. on: May 15, 2013, 12:33:04 AM
7970 Batch File = 640khash/s

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://coinotron.com:3334 -u Waramp22.Desktop -p xxxx --device 0 --intensity 13 -g 2 --gpu-fan 65 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-engine 925 --gpu-memclock 1730 --gpu-powertune 20 --no-submit-stale

7950 Batch File = 450khash/s
(Just got the card, havent tuned it much)

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://coinotron.com:3334 -u Waramp22.Desktop -p xxxx --device 1 --intensity 18 -g 1 --gpu-fan 65 --thread-concurrency 22400 --gpu-engine 1115 --gpu-memclock 1300 --no-submit-stale

So i attempt this:

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://coinotron.com:3334 -u Waramp22.Desktop -p xxxx --intensity 13,18 --thread-concurrency 8192,22400 --gpu-fan 65 --gpu-engine 925,1115 --gpu-memclock 1730,1300 --no-submit-stale --gpu-powertune 20,0

And i get 495 and 450  Sad
Something happens to the 7970 when i run that batch file.

293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Hashrate drops after second card fires up. on: May 14, 2013, 11:59:31 PM
Windows 7. 7970 +7950
I am running two instances of CGMiner just to keep the settings apart from eachother until things are running stable. Both of the cards are in 16x slots. I fire up the 7970 and it mines as normal, around 640khash/s. I fire up the second instance of cgminer and the first one drops to around 400khash/s. And the second instance of cgminer with the 7950 is nothing special either.

Is this a driver issue?

Are their some commands in cgminer that can affect all instances?

294  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Apparently PayPal can no longer be used to buy/sell Bitcoin mining hardware on: May 14, 2013, 06:43:41 PM
Can we please stop using PayPal?

I just hate reading stories of people getting their funds locked up. And when did they add that caveat to their TOS about mining hardware? I read their TOS a few months back and it said nothing of the sort.

Anyway lets move away from PayPal and their bs. We have perfectly good alternatives like BTC, LTC and different e-currencies.

The reason people still use paypal is because in normal transactions it gives the customer protection. Crypto coins do not. Like hell im going to send someone overseas 100 bitcoints for an avalon preorder with absolutely no protection. Until bitcoin gets a service similar to paypal that offers us protecion, paypal will be #1.

The sad truth is, Bitcoin is full of scammers and I have yet to see any alternatives to using paypal other than haveing a third person involved for escrow.

Newb here.... Blockchain.info. I registered for this, i cant remember why. Anyways, is it just an online version of the bitcoin wallet? So, if i deposit my bitcoin to my blockchain.info receiving address, i dont use the actual bitcoin client that i downloaded?
296  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Alt-Coins on: May 09, 2013, 03:58:29 AM
Almost all of the alt-coins are there are going to be a waste of time.  They're being created to take advantage of people who get super excited about different things and then get pumped and dumped.

Be careful about wasting time with too many alt coins.

Alt coins are like penny stocks. Penny stocks are the fastest way to get rich for people who have a few thousand laying around to take big risk. Love them or hate them, they can make you millions. Buy/Mine them when they are worth next to nothing and sell or convert them to a more stable currency when you decide to. If you think they are a waste of time, then great, but Bitcoin wont be the only cryptocurrency that goes mainstream. Everything needs competition - Coke/Pepsi GM/Ford/Dodge Microsoft/Apple. Did you know the world has 182 currencies? I wonder how many of those were said to be "just pump and dumps" a months after they were created. Forex is a huge industry based on trading currencies alone. Anytime you can copy something, improve it, and make money off of it there will always be innovation and new things on the market. I believe Litecoin or even Feathercoin with its fast confirmation time have a better chance of going mainstream than bitcoin, they're just a few years behind. They are the Apple to the Microsoft.

Did you realize that bitcoin was "created to take advantage of people who get super excited about different things and then get pumped and dumped?" I bet the idiots who spent $100 on the "waste of time" in the beginning sure regret it now when their bitcoin wallet is worth 6 figures.

Newb here...Mining litecoin with 650 hash/second. Few weeks in and i have a bit over 14 Confirmed rewards. I was wondering why it wouldn't pay out and noticed the box where you can set your payout threshold. I set it just below what Ive got confirmed and its been a couple hours with no payout. Is there something i am missing? I'm not in a panic for them...i just want to get my first deposit into my wallet.

You have edited your original post, and changed your starting bid on your "auction" based on the offer that someone made you on a different website. Why is this?
