281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best hardware wallet for eth based tokens on: September 30, 2017, 07:35:51 PM
Think it really depends on what you are looking for in terms of price, color, functionality, and support. This is a good youtube video on top 3 hardware wallets

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOnOBl_MxmQ

Not sure which one supports more ERC20 tokens to be honest. I prefer the Trezor myself but again think it depends on those factors listed above.
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The HIDDEN GEM FOR 2018 on: September 30, 2017, 07:33:18 PM
A coin that seems poised for breakout imo is XRB. Similar project to IOTA and once distribution is done only the sky is the limit I believe
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XRB]Cryptocurrency's killer app: RaiBlocks micropayments on: September 28, 2017, 02:11:25 AM
Kill the faucet, burn remaining coin, get listed on Bittrex. I'm a genius, I should be a developer.  Grin

I too concur with this idea! I dont understand why the distribution has to be through faucet. Could there not be a faster and better way to distribute? I just think a year + is a really long time and I am not sure it is in this

projects best interest. I am interested still and will watch this project to see what develops of this faucet situation. All the best

The whitepaper was released before, but the dev pulled back on it to do further revision

Yup this it was no good and they are doing a proper version now. For a project with much potential the paper was quite bad. That was my thought about 5 seconds after seeing how it was put together.

But through all this the team has taken the criticism constructively (which I applaude btw... could have reacted as babies) and now they will present a better one. Give it time you want quality
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is the current Mysterium spike pump or pre-pump? on: September 21, 2017, 12:00:26 AM
Your analysis seems pretty good to me. I dont think the volume is nearly high enough to make this a true pump. If you think its going up, it will surely go up much farther than this.
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XRB]Cryptocurrency's killer app: RaiBlocks micropayments on: September 20, 2017, 11:56:02 PM
Good to see this coin rebounding a little bit today. Time to retest that local all time high
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pre-ICO bonuses on: September 18, 2017, 10:31:43 PM
I tend to agree with the sentiment you put forth in the OP. If some participants get tokens too cheap or too many of them then yes this could and would cause a massive dump off. Best

to avoid those ICO and stick with ones that are fairer for all participants or offer a 10-30% discount at maximum.

Hard to believe with all this widespread knowledge people still believe this. It is like come on you can fact check this any way you like, but yet people are still ignorant? Bananas
290  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the little white circles or dots on a chart when I click on the candles on: September 18, 2017, 07:27:59 PM
Yeah it is hard to know exactly what you are describing without a picture for ourselves. From what I am gathering though, it sounds like you are describing the "wick" or "whiskers"

of the candle. This article can explain quite well about candlesticks and wicks : http://www.investopedia.com/walkthrough/forex/beginner/level3/candlestick.aspx
291  Economy / Economics / Re: Arbitrage of cryptocurrency transactions. on: September 18, 2017, 06:05:15 PM
That is a neat idea. However, I do feel like utilizing bots is cheating in some way. If its not done by a human, it just does not seem fair to me. But I disgress the world is everchanging
292  Other / Off-topic / Re: who is the richest bitcoin owner? on: September 18, 2017, 10:05:31 AM
of course Satoshi Nakamoto!! He is the inventor of bitcoin, has an estimated 1 million bitcoins, worth about $350 million today.

Each bitcoin is worth more than $350.  :/

True. Which means he has more than $3.5billion worth of bitcoins? Assuming he hasn't sold any, of course.

And also assuming that "satoshi nakamoto" is just one person. If it is a group of 5 say , then currently they are less than a billion each. What peasants ! Wink

295  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's best to buy now with BTC hovering around $3,000? (Newbie) on: September 15, 2017, 02:37:12 AM
Well I cant exactly advise you on what to get as I think that is against forum rules. But I will say this welcome to land of cryptos. I think it is wise you are buying more as it goes

down, never a bad trading strategy. Other than that it really depends on what you believe in and think is going to do well. It sounds silly but often times belief can be the difference

of success or not. It is much easier to not let your emotions get the best of you when you actually believe in a coins project. Whereas the flip side you dont care the -10-50% swings

well eat at you sooner than later. So all in all, I think you are on the right track just do some more research about what you like and get into that. Then follow the markets so you

are informed of whats going on. Btw no ETH is not tied to BTC price. The market can react irrationally at any moment but in general I think there is a inverse relationship with

BTC and alts. Although much of that has not been observed recently which is the irrational part of the market doing its thing. Hope that helps buddy
296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reason Behind BTC Price Drop on: September 15, 2017, 02:27:35 AM
I think its a combination of factors at work here. First off you got the constant FUD this past week over ICO bans, and exchange bans, just constant negative news in the media.

Then on top of that you got a big CEO calling bitcoin a fraud. Combine that with experienced traders as well as emotional and voila the perfect recipe for this mess we are in now.

Dont think we will be here too long tbh but the markets are crazy so who knows, but long term I still am bullish on BTC all things considered.
297  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Safest Way to Sell Bitcoins? on: September 11, 2017, 11:29:40 PM
I personally think the safest way to sell bitcoins is via an exchange. Find a good exchange online whether its Bitstamp, Kraken or another reputable one. Sell there imo. I would

not want to deal with somebody in real life as that exchange could cause an altercation whereas online you have 0 worries about that.
298  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What are the Most Peaceful Countries? on: September 11, 2017, 11:15:46 PM
Hmm lets see dont know about peaceful 100% but in my eyes countries that are not trying to get into wars actively are (in no particular order) :

1) Canada
2) Switzerland
3) Denmark
4) Finland
5) Sweden
299  Other / Off-topic / Re: The end justifies the means on: September 11, 2017, 10:51:26 PM
I think it would have to be a specific situation for me to use that as my reasoning. For instance, I have problem stealing and hurting somebody who is an killer, pedo, or something

of that nature. Then only if I would take whatever I got from them and given it to somebody in need would I use that phrase. Other than that scenario and ones similar to it, I

cannot really see good use case for that phrase.
300  Other / Meta / Re: Search functionality disabled? on: September 11, 2017, 10:33:26 PM
Nope it is not a ban. It is currently not working for me either. I think it is likely one of two things happening here

1) our rank isnt high enough to use it
2) it simply is not working for anybody at the moment
