281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it risky to turn all my money to bitcoins? on: December 26, 2017, 12:29:33 AM
Even though Bitcoin value has been growing for a long time, it is still risky. Every kind of investment is risky but what about keeping your money in banks? What if the price of gold became unstable? Lots of people would probably lose their life savings. That's why Bitcoin is a great opportunity to finally get rid of that. I still wouldn't exchange everything what I have to BTC because many shops still don't accept BTC and transaction fees are quite high.
282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to explain bitcoin to teenagers or children on: December 26, 2017, 12:22:17 AM
I guess that most of the teenagers won't be interested in learning how does Bitcoin work, what a pity. Basics of Bitcoin aren't difficult, even Bitcoin wiki explains it in a easy to understand way. They will have to understand Bitcoin if it becomes widely used in the future. It might be too difficult for children, though. However, it looks like children are getting used to technology in the young age. Making Bitcoin transactions is easier than paying cash. You don't have to do anything beside scanning a QR code.
283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: December 25, 2017, 11:30:29 PM
Thanks to Bitcoin we can become our own banks, we don't have to trust any third party. You can even run your own node if you don't trust anyone in the network. It will take some time before people will learn the benefits of owning your private keys. Probably, they will be always web wallets because not every person is capable of securing money on their own. Also, even if less people would use "crypto banks", someone still have to give loans.
284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Offline Wallets Vs Online Wallets on: December 25, 2017, 11:00:33 PM
dont use hardware wallets. They can break, and will malfunctioning if exposed to more than 50Celcius.
A paper wallet is your best choice for now

Every hardware wallet gives you a 24 word seed at the first boot. Paper wallets aren't as durable as you think. Many people buy hardware wallets and cryptosteel which is waterproof and fireproof. I personally prefer using a hardware wallet and storing my seed in a secure place.
285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you donate Bitcoin for the poor and needy? on: December 25, 2017, 01:39:56 PM
There is no point in donating with Bitcoin, not yet. A lot of charities are probably not aware of Bitcoin existence. Even if they knew how to use Bitcoin, they would probably sell it in order to get fiat for their expenses. I will consider donating in Bitcoin after it becomes more popular and wide-accepted. I know it is a matter of time so that is why I decided to hold my bitcoins no matter what happens. I would advise anyone to do the same.
286  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will either go to $8000 or $20000. on: December 25, 2017, 01:33:20 PM
I think that Bitcoin will soon be back to $20000. Right now, we are having a correction which could be caused by future contracts and Christmas! A lot of people buy expensive presents for Christmas so no wonder why Bitcoin price decreased. In the next year, we will have cheaper and faster transactions (Lightning Network) so I wouldn't be surprised if the price didn't change a lot. More and more popular shops accept BTC.
287  Other / Off-topic / Re: what wallet can you recommend? on: December 25, 2017, 01:30:47 PM
What do you find difficult in using hardware wallets? In my opinion, they are designed to be easy to use and so they are. For Android, Samourai Wallet is the best choice for now. It supports SegWit and TOR routing so it will be cheap to send transactions. Electrum and Bitcoin Core are quite good PC wallets. Bitcoin Core forces you to download the whole Blockchain (every single transaction that was broadcasted to the network). Even though Electrum doesn't do the same, it is still secure because it allows you to encrypt and manage your own private keys.
288  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why bitcoin so expensive? on: December 25, 2017, 01:18:32 PM
More and more people start to become interested in Bitcoin. Its value is increasing due to high demand. Bitcoin value decreased a bit recently probably because of Christmas. It's quite surprising that people send their BTC despite huge transaction fees. I wouldn't be surprised if in the next 20 years, at least half of the world would use Bitcoin every day. It is possible because Lightning Network is almost there.
289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do Not Buy Christmas Presents!! on: December 25, 2017, 12:13:14 PM
It's a good idea to buy Bitcoin instead of buying some useless things like many people do. However, I wouldn't buy Bitcoin for a person who doesn't know much about technology and could throw away the paper wallet with the bitcoins which I sent there. I'm trying to convince my family member that Bitcoin isn't that bad and they should invest in it. I'm not only talking about possible profits but also
290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a big Bubble ! real price for bitcoin is 2-5 K $ on: December 24, 2017, 10:44:56 PM
And why do you think that Bitcoin is worth something between $2k-$5k? I  have heard many times that Bitcoin value is somewhere around $1k because this is the total cost of producing it. That's bullshit. Why do you consider $100 bill worth $100 if its production costs is probably a few cents? Bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency and because of that it's not perfect. We should focus on making Bitcoin better rather than blaming it for being slow and expensive in use.
291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bcash will die in 2018 and Bitcoin will be even more valuable on: December 24, 2017, 10:25:06 PM
As many people have already said, increasing the blocksize isn't the perfect solution. Even if we decided to do it, we would have to do the same thing again due to increasing Bitcoin popularity. Don't you think that 10 minutes between each block is not enough for microtransactions? Of course it isn't and that's why Lightning Network is one of the best solution we can introduce. Transactions are instant but quite complicated when you first hear how it works.
292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could Bitcoin ever replace conventional money? on: December 23, 2017, 12:21:28 PM
Bitcoin has a huge chance to replace conventional money. I'm tired of using cash but I also don't like the idea of moving all my money to banks which can't guarantee me access to it whenever I want. More and more people are becoming aware of cryptocurrencies existence. It is a matter of time before we will use it for daily transactions.
293  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price will be over $20k again next week or in 2018? on: December 23, 2017, 12:13:58 PM
We are just in a middle of another correction. Don't you think that people wanted to buy presents with the money they have earned on Bitcoin. It has already happened in the past a few times. Right now, most of the banks don't process any wire transfers due to Christmas time. I wouldn't be surprised if Bitcoin was back to $20k after New Years Eve.
294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ☠☠☠ Will High Transaction Fees Be The Downfall Of Bitcoin? ☠☠☠ on: December 23, 2017, 11:14:36 AM
Bitcoin transaction fees are definitely too high. However, if more people used SegWit, this problem would be smaller. We shouldn't increase the blocksize because SegWit adoption would be even slower! Lightning Network is almost there, I hope it will solve the problem of slow and expensive transactions. Right now, people are using Bitcoin despite huge costs. Bitcoin can't die easily.
295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ✨✨✨ Are we wasting resources to make digital currencies? ✨✨✨ on: December 23, 2017, 11:05:06 AM
We are not wasting resources on maintaining Bitcoin. Do you know what is the total cost of maintaining every paper currency? Bitcoin uses a lot of energy but it also produces a lot of heat which could be used for keeping our houses warm in the winter. Solar panels are still too inefficient to use them in a huge mining farms.
296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is not supported in some countries? on: December 22, 2017, 08:27:58 PM
Governments and banks were always connected to each other. They are both afraid of losing control of money. No wonder why. Governments would be no longer able to print additional money whenever they wanted. Bitcoins allows you to store your money on your own, that's one of the most important bank features. I don't want to use them anymore because I don't need to.
297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin is the new era of currency? on: December 22, 2017, 08:17:54 PM
I think that Bitcoin has started revolution which eventually will cause the collapse of banking system. In the next 20 years most of the banks will be dead because many countries will probably switch to cryptocurrencies which in my opinion are more convenient and easy to use. Unfortunately, it might take a lot of time in some countries to implement Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency payments. Fortunately, in some countries, many people use cashless transactions.
298  Economy / Economics / Re: Why people says gold is better? on: December 22, 2017, 02:55:45 PM
A lot of people prefer gold because they think it has stable value and can be accepted anywhere. It is true that you can sell your gold in many places and in every country but you can't pay directly with it in most places. Bitcoin adoption is still low but more and more shops start to accept Bitcoin as a payment. Most of them are online shops due to long confirmations. I can't wait to see how normal shops will accept BTC after introduction of the Lightning Network.
299  Other / Off-topic / Re: What wallets do you use? on: December 22, 2017, 01:26:44 PM
blockchain is cool, but I also use coinpot and is used to use block.io which i wont recommend

Blockchain.info is terrible, stop using it. There were a lot of reports of disappearing BTC from their wallet. That is why I don't trust any web wallet. If I were you, I would switch completely to at least a software wallet such as Electrum or Armory. They both give you the ability to control your private key which is needed every time you want to sign a transaction. If you have a lot of BTC, you should consider buying a hardware wallet which is really safe.
300  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does the bubble already burst? on: December 22, 2017, 11:19:54 AM
Why do you always have to panic when the price starts to decrease? Bitcoin will recover soon, it's the perfect time to buy more. Unfortunately, I don't have any spare money. In my opinion, Bitcoin value will continue to increase. Many people become interested in cryptocurrencies this year and I doubt they will stop using them anytime soon. Personally, I can't leave Bitcoin. Am I addicted?
