282  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CRAPTSY GETTING READY TO GOX US? on: October 18, 2014, 01:18:00 AM
We had issues with a select piece of hardware at our data center. This piece of equipment balances, and syncs the important data that one finds on the various web front ends, as well as various other tasks. Without it the web cluster does not work.

Steps we took:
  • Brought original server up everything went back to normal. Then crashed hard.
  • Migrated to a new machine. Brought it online and synced all the slave nodes.

We have a plan in place now to prevent this in the future. It will prevent this choke point. We should have that portion implemented this week.

The outage was on the front end. At no time was the back end affected. At no time were any wallets or other information at risk. Hope that clears up any concern.

As always, thinner heads prevail. Good job Cryptsy team!

dank you are clinically insane.
284  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CRAPTSY GETTING READY TO GOX US? on: October 17, 2014, 08:37:05 PM
I'm fairly certain that cryptsy isn't gonna pull a Gox. they are legitimate, and we all know it. how many fires have they put out to date? quite a few. how many times have they been insolvent? zero. besides, if they did pull a gox, you'd know exactly where to find them.

Investigations and interests are being put together for a possible class action law suit against an exchange/ exchange operator that withheld btc and closed down
I'm fairly certain you're talking about me, which is laughable if so.

You can laugh, you can assume it's you. But until you get served I guess you never know.

lol, serve me over 3 btc? it's laughable. i'm out less than 12 btc at the moment all told, counting the 10 btc invested. not that i think its funny, but the fact you would try to threaten me and claim that i withheld btc. hilarious. if you are owed some money you can contact me like a man and say so. refunds are first come first serve.

report them to your local state police department. then to the FBI. it might not stop a small timer, but the big guys will go down if enough people report them.

Does the police department handles cases where a fraud in bitcoin has been commited, and people have screenshots and messages as proof?

of course.

OH. And I forgot this- AK got doxxed in the DiceBitco.in thread before Dice.Ninja ran with the bankroll.  Now to me it doesn't seem likely that some million dollar theft would be pulled days after somebody is publicly doxxed. And he is using his real name for his BTCtalk account, Joe Mattie. Sure, he could have had secret other accounts, but to me it just seems like somebody who is a known whale who gambles 1000s of coins publicly, wouldn't be posting as his real name if they were coins stolen from another site's bankroll that he was publicly whaling with.

to some of them its a thrill crime, and they like planting information for the thrill of possibly getting caught

here's a conspiracy:

Dear marks, all 3 conspired to scam you out of your coins, now they are poiting the finger at each other to cool you off, leaving you questioning who actually committed the crime.

Trying to pin this on Stunna now? that is a very bold accusation. You better have some substantial evidence to back it.

I'm guessing that was meant to be a joke.

The current wild conspiracy theory is "AK stole the coins and lost them on PD" - so the next silly step is "Stunna must be the evil mastermind behind it all".

If only there was a big reputable dice site so we didn't have to have all this drama!  Roll Eyes

cakebet, but its not open to us/puerto rico

I think luckybit is one of the better campaigns. They evaluate users fairly for entry. They are willing to give you the benefit of the doubt even if you have a negative trust. Their entry requirements are stringent, and as a result the conversion of their advertising is likely better. A well thought out post by a human being with a signature is a better advertisement than a post by some basement dwellers forum bot that doesn't even make sense.

Isn't it cheaper to wire money back from bitstamp after selling btc?

i don't trade btc. this is just me transferring USD in so i can buy bitcoins for a private matter.
