time to get the big guys back that left us, hopefully temporarily. we're down to 60PH compared to the 90PH a week ago...

Personally, I came to Kano because it was smaller...  The 200TH was getting me scared..  I'm ok with whatever happens though.  This is a great pool and Kano works hard to keep it running smoothly.

Yeah block. Now well get a few, I know it

My s9 is not over with best share of 15,710,908,828 in 17d3h16m52s.  I'm hanging in there with you too Kano!  Slush (my failover) has found 12 blocks since midnight - but with their hash rate, probably less payment than 1 block here.  Out of curiosity, does the Kano api have the ability to get payment info as well as miner details?

Oh, and I was with slush before I came to kano and I have been logging activity on both for several months (when I started mining).  The competition is almost 800TH now which is insane.  It was around 250 a few months ago when I left to join Kano at around 80.  I needed around 5 blocks on the other to equal one on Kano.  That is around 4 to one now.  There have been times where other pool has had terrible times where they would get a block a day for a streak.  There are times where they will pull in  15 or more in a day, but Kano has done 5 at the 80TH range which is like 25 of the other.  So it seems that everything comes out in the wash if you look at the long term.  That is why I like the payout system that Kano offers since it rewards long term miners.

So I am still trying to figure out the whole mining process.  So when the pool starts processing a block, is it the same block until we (all the Kano miners) finish it?  I saw another post that makes it seem like we start a new block anytime the network finds one.  I suspect servers and databases start getting taxed at some level - probably way higher than 200TH though.  Since you restarted the system, does that grab a new block for us all to process or do you do that to restart the Nonce that we process?

Also, as I understand it, the seconds are passed into the sha256 algorithm.  Does the Kano.is network send the time as part of the work or is that generated by the miner?  It seems that having the second constantly changing with this level of difficulty may make things more unlucky.  How frequently is Kano resetting the Nonce's that gets distributed to the miners?  I am assuming that the Kano pool servers are such that the Nonce ranges are different for every miner on the network.  Does anyone know what kind of leway is allowed by the bitcoin network for the time that is passed in for a found block?  Is it possible to have our 200TH work on the same timestamp for a minute or two so that everything is not being reset every second?  With the difficulty being so high, I suspect that there are some things like this that may improve luck.  Obviously if the miner is sending the time into the algorithm, then it would need the "firmware" changed which is not a good option.

Anyway, some other thoughts.  So summarizing my biggest questions if anyone has the answers: 1) Is a new block issued when someone on the network finds a block? 2) Does Kano send the timestamp as part of the work or is it the miner? 3) How frequently is Kano resetting the Nonces? 4) If Kano is sending timestamps, how frequently are those changed?
