This simply means that Germany is ready to tax your bitcoins. I think you can expect the same treatment from other countries.
Again, this is true, however, I believe the same happens in the UK if you withdraw more then a certain amount! You can't just suddenly withdraw hundreds of thousands from mtgox for example and direct transfer to your bank without serious questioning and or heavy taxes. I really appreciate the your insight however! True, but you also can't help to see some government ploy "to get in on this Bitcoin scheme and scoop some money"; while at the same time they are skeptical of it becoming a valid means of pay...

Well, the chance is that if in a SHTF scenario you will get many more Cypruses around the world. The big problem is really that the banks are insolvent, and several countries are talking about "bail-ins" as a solution. If the fear in the populace is mostly targeted at bank stability and people feel their bank accounts are at risk, then that would be VERY bullish for Bitcoin.
Lets be honest , if right now banks collapse , bitcoin is going with them. But thats a FUD scenarios As much as we hate banks 90% of us use banks to buy and sell bitcoins. Correct, if at THIS point banks collapse, BTC would not be strong enough yet to survive. And I don't hate banks per se, only the illicit moneygrubbing attitude they have, and the way they weasel out of their responsabilities when their scheming backfires.

I really would love the idea of 1 BTC reaches 1 million but it is not LOGICAl, let's suppose that it gets to 1 million and so far there are 12 million BTC so that would be 12,000,000,000,000 USD That is imposible, put the feet on the ground, I think the realistic price for BTC would never be more that 10,000 USD.
Stop dreaming...
I see what you're saying, but this is only valid if fiat stays the current norm (read: as long as Bitcoin remains a speculative entity, and not a valid widely used means of payment)

it is @ 1030 stamp, and 1100 gox... thinking that we may have reached a top right now for the next 7-10 days. Your thoughts?
I don't think we've seen the top this week....1300 USD might be achieved.

I've personally bought a lot of stuff with Bitcoin, and not sorry for it. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Bought some stuff as well, also not sorry, but you can't help but go: "Wow, that bike I bought is now a 80000$ bike" ^^ Edit: That bike cost $80,000 only if you didn't replace the btc you used for the purchase. I always make a replacement purchase of btc before spending them. yes, replacement is the key indeed, have learned a lot since then

Hello Goomboo; Thanks for all this info! Instead of asking that you lurk around for 4 hours and make 5 posts when you join this forum; they should make reading your thread mandatory! I'm slowly going through all the pages of this topic, both recent and past. Letting it all sink in ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Thanks again and keep it comin'!

Yeah, media outlets will definitely be picking this up. This morning I even read some articles in the papers who have never before talked about Bitcoin...

I was wondering what are your predictions for the upcoming year 2014? Will it reach 5000$?
Well, my prediction was that it would reach $5,000, but seeing as how that has so far turned out to be a gross underestimate, I feel I should revise it. $75,000 by the end of 2014 seems more reasonable, don't you think? ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) That's not even the moon anymore... ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2F1.bp.blogspot.com%2F-88NGZvn3M-w%2FTvEiL9gxuKI%2FAAAAAAAAAJA%2FSMuPqMPkQNI%2Fs1600%2Fvoyage%2Bto%2Bthe%2Bbunny%2Bplanet.JPG&t=663&c=Ne1GSPTu_D71sw)

I think there will be two effects coming together at 1000$. Many will sell, but i think even more will be pushed into buying BTC because its such a sick psychological level.
indeed, that was also the case at 100 USD. The wall went down fast! I share the exact same feeling. While I do believe a sell of at 1000 $ is very likely to happen; the effects of the 1K psychological border being passed could drive it even higher!

I haven't had real incentive to look at altcoins...maybe I should start looking at Litecoin. Based on my limited knowledge, that would be the only one I could be bothered to look at.

Ok, "time-wise" it isn't so deep. Bitcoin-time though...that's another story

The Chinese decided it would be like this...from now on they accept Bitcoin as valid currency for their take-away business! ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)
