With the bitmain antminers keeps dropping on it seems to be the case, at least for the GPUs mining !

LOL
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining will die in 2018! on: May 03, 2018, 03:01:55 PM

if eth and zec developers don't block asics then you will still be able to mine monero with gpus which is a good thing.

It won't be a good thing, if the majority of the gpu hash power is on xmr.
283  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Struggling to Reach Over 9K on: May 03, 2018, 02:22:39 AM
Seems like it will continue to struggle. At the moment it was around 9500$ but now it's going back again. To be honest I don't expect to go much further this month and it probably will not touch 10000$ any time soon.
This correction lasts a long period now but it was kind of logical situation after huge rise at the end of last year.
But once we break 10000$, hope next month doors for further growth will be more open.

It's probably the last major resistance before $10k, so hopefully once it's broken it's gonna reach new all time highs. Although leveling there and making it a new baseline seems more realistic.
As stated it could reach new ath. Now with the present drop we can see some of the panic users ending up selling all their bitcoin holdings. The same will be used as an chance to invest by this time. The ongoing corrective measures will start moving above $10000 within few weeks time.
I think in the coming weeks it will reach to $10k with the btc price struggling as always it can survive. More demands on bitcoin could start to slowly increased this time. We should wait for the bull run to start since we couldnt exactly tell when it will reach over $10k.
Bitcoin is uncertain a little between 8.8 thousand dollar and 9.2 thousand dollar as the price yesterday was 8.8 thousand dollar and today it is back at 9.2 thousand dollar that shows that Bitcoin is stable there and it is still giving and representing a sign that we have still time to invest for the future value will surely hit over 9 thousand dollar worth so that we have to buy now.

And when I am checking the charts, I am waiting to see there that Bitcoin is going to reach 10 thousand. It will be a critical point for the next bull run.
That's a normal struggle of bitcoin no matter what value it is it has been a struggle for it is always connected with cryptocurrency and other ICO's. What else can we do? Possibly we can just stay calm and do the same or normal thing that we have. Anyway,it has it's own journey to take we are just here to support and take the risk on what we put up for the betterment of bitcoin.
Yes, we should always be optimistic that prices will skyrocket so not sell at the present time will help the price continue to rise and not drop, I'm sure that the future of bitcoin is still promising so with patience then we get big profit.

If you care about price, you were fucked from the beginning ... HEHE  Grin

around 1850 h/s for my vega 56 cards still stuck on the Aug23 drivers since I havent had enough time to mess with the newer ones.
Using the latest castXMR miner.

Same here ... I'm still on Aug23 drivers.  New drivers that much better in terms of hashrate?

I think they are supposed to be more stable and let you try more video cards without having as many issues.
for vega new drivers are a must more stable by a ton

Meh ... I don't know about that.  Three crashes in 5-6 months is pretty stable in my opinion.  No reason to switch.  I also have mine to set up to auto disable and re-enable each gpu and restart the mining software, if the hashrate dips below a specified level.

Global cryptocurrency investors are showing their enormous interest on bitcoin due to bitcoins upcoming bright future. 2017 was a great year for bitcoin.Bitcoin reveals its power to the global economy.worldwide investors are funding their assets to bitcoin now.i think bitcoin will set a new benchmark on 2018.Rival merchant organizations are feel free to invest and work with bitcoin now.its just a matter of time when bitcoin will rule the global economy.

I believe that bitcoin price will improve this year,  it is now recovering and i am waiting for a good increase. May it reach again at $20,000 because i wanted to gain a lot from my investment.

I have a feeling people will start praying in this thread shortly ... LOL  Grin

This guy is for sure trolling.  No one sells a business (at least not a profitable one) and buys 70 graphics card to only realize they don't know what they are doing.

You might be right.  Or he just had that shitty of a business that he was only able to sell it for what he could buy 70 1070's for.  If that is the case, his business wasn't bringing in much to start with.
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Am I in over my head? on: May 02, 2018, 02:35:21 AM
Well guys... sold my small business (restaurant), bought a shitload of GPUs.. and now I realize I may not know what the fuck I'm doing. I've got almost 70 cards running (mix of 1070s and 1060s, mostly 1070) mining rvn, getting like 1,500 a day or something like that. Overall at current prices, making like $430 a week before power. Which isn't shit. I realize I can go nicehash and make more probably but I'd be making maybe $600-$650 with nicehash or ethereum or zcash (probably a bit less with zcash at current prices).. My point is, is this the best way to go about it? Mining something speculative, or mining the most profitable coin at the time and exchanging to speculation? I need to liquidate at least some of my monthly earning to get by, but either way, it's a meager existence, and eventually, these cards will crap out despite my best efforts to keep them running at 65 Celsius, and I'll have nothing. Does anyone have any advice for me? Is it really true that 70 fucking Nvidia GPUs can only earn you round-a-bout 2k-2.4k a month after power?? Did I just screw myself??

I understand you, friend, I also took a risk. I sold my car for 3000 to build a rig of 6.

But the world is for those who risk

Hopefully it was an extra car that you didn't really need.  To the OP ... The only people screwing themselves are the ones who cashed in something that they "needed" ... Maybe the OP needs his restaurant income on a daily or monthly basis ... Maybe you need your car for something ... You can't make it in mining and look at it as something that provides daily income, unless you've been mining for a couple of years.  Cashing out for fiat daily, even if you bought your gpu's back in Oct/Nov/Dec is a losing game.  And if you overpaid for GPU's in Jan or Feb of this year just to get started ... You're in for an even longer game.
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I shut it down tonight boys. on: May 02, 2018, 12:30:03 AM
My 1060 3gb cannot mine etherum anymore

Why not? The only 3gb cards with issues were running windows which makes some forced memory reservations. Run linux and you can mine ETH just fine still

Correct. But some people see linux as a scary beast and simply not comfortable using linux because it seems more "technical" and harder to configure. Another option would be to use Windows 7 which should still work fine with some 3 GBs.

I assume you can do it on SMOS, which is easier to set up than a windows mining rig.  There really is no OS tweaking to do.
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Am I in over my head? on: May 01, 2018, 08:52:46 PM
The name of the game right now is mining and holding for a brighter day.  Pay your electricity from other income and don't sell any crypto right now.  Hopefully you have a regular day job or something else to bring in other income.  If you don't, I'd get one.

As for your rvn mining stats ... The number of GPU's has nothing to do with it.  If you were mining the same thing with 70 1080ti's, you'd be mining a lot more rvn per day than you are with what you have.  Part of my farm is mining rvn,  I'm getting around 1450/day from two 1080's, eight 1080ti's, and fifteen 1070ti's.

You're not going to be making more with NH right now.  Do you check WhatToMine daily?  If you've been checking it every day for the past month, you would have noticed that NH hasn't been number one on any algo for quite a little while.

No one can tell you what to do.  Do what you think is best for your situation.  Maybe your best option is to downsize, maybe it's not.  How close are you to getting back what you put in?  How long have you been at this?  What do you think the price of btc will be in a few months?  You can sell rvn for btc, if you'd rather not hold rvn.

But for now ... This is how it is.

290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptonight V7 mining issues on: May 01, 2018, 07:59:09 PM
well, when will they solve it?
any ideas?

You could always open a support ticket.  I use XMR-STAK ... Super stable.

With nicehash? Aren't you getting 3-5% rejected shares? If not may I ask what your ping is?

Yes I meant open a support ticket with NH.  No I'm not getting 3-5% rejected shares with XMR-STAK ... According to my stats I've had 2 rejected shares out of 68,906.  Ping to the pool address is 40ms.

Thanks for the info. My ping is around 100ms...perhaps the main reason of my rejects (they come right after a new block..submitted too late  Sad ).
Other than that, xmr-stak is the best option if setup properly.

What pool are you using?  I'm using supportxmr.

Oh well I only have one AMD rig which consists of 6 Vega 56's.  The rest of my rigs are Nvidia on SMOS.  In the five months that I've been running that AMD rig, I've had 3 system lockups.  Two were due to me not having windows and driver updates completely disabled in Win10.  Email within ten minutes and rebooted via switched pdu.  Pretty damn stable, in my opinion.  I'm using XMR-STAK, btw.  If SMOS supported Vega's, that rig would be off MSWIN like the rest of them.

If you have to shut down your miner 'cause you aren't making a profit, you are doing something wrong.

Well these are mostly the guys who know nothing other than 1-click miners and have no interest in putting in the time to actually learn that there is another world out there.
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Shared Ideas of Ways to Manage Heat From Mining in a Home or Warehouse on: April 30, 2018, 11:41:51 PM
If I were you, I would just split the ductwork in ceiling to create another exhaust that's over your rigs instead of moving.  Having the exhaust over your rigs can also help move more of the air towards your rigs.

Maybe I'm not understanding exactly what you mean ... But why would you go to all of that trouble, when I could easily move the shelving unit a few feet to position it directly under the exhaust vent in the ceiling?
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Shared Ideas of Ways to Manage Heat From Mining in a Home or Warehouse on: April 30, 2018, 05:45:52 PM
So here is what I currently have going on ...

31 GPU's ranging from 1070ti's to 1080ti's ... Six of them are XFX Vega 56 blower cards.  According to fan specs, we're doing 3100ish cfm on intake and exhaust in a room that is 1680 cubic feet.  There is another window in that room that I could put another intake fan in, not sure about that yet.  If I do that, I assume I'm going to need to put in another exhaust fan.  All rigs other than the vega blower card rig have a box fan behind them.

I'm wondering if I should move the shelving unit a little closer to the exhaust, so the heat is sucked directly upwards, but the box fans are pushing hot air off of the cards in a forward motion.  Not sure how much.

Currently the room is around 7-8 degrees above the outdoor temp.  Without the exhaust fan (and with the intake and box fans), it was 15-18 degrees above the outdoor temp, so it has certainly made a big difference.

Temps here are going to be heating up, so we will see what happens.  The next step in this project is venting all the way outside rather than into the attic.

If anyone has any suggestions on gable vents or roof vents that have fittings for a large diameter hose, please let me know.

That room looks sexy just like the OP mining set up.

If I had this set up, I would have the 2 windows with exhaust fans (attic gables fans) sucking hot air outside on boths windows and I would put that shelf with all the rigs on it right in front of it. So it would go like Cool Air--Rigs--Attics gable Fans sucking the hot air out.

I would keep the ceiling exhaust fan also just to make sure that there isn't any trapped hot air anywhere. You can never have to much exhaust. Just make sure you have a source for fresh air (does not have to be AC air but needs to be fresh)

That window fan can be used for for exhaust.  Just have to turn the knob on it to one of the exhaust settings.  I looked at attic gable fans, but I like that this one is made for a window.  Problem with using it as exhaust is I have no other source for intake, if I do that.

In the big country like China, Bitcoin is considered as a currency to make their economic development better than other countries, Bitcoin's market price fluctuates but the middle class The country has never had a bad idea about Bitcoin and many investors from China say that Bitcoin will be very good in their country.

China (as a whole) is dying.  They are beginning to realize that they cannot swallow their most magnificent wins.  HEHEHEHEHEHE.

Recently, I checked on the condition of bitcoin, fortunately bitcoin is on a continuous uprise, the price in the market which involves bitcoin greatly, it seem that the price is on an uprise manner and hopefully it does continue for the rest of the year, hopefully its gonna be a great year for Bitcoin.

Ummm, yeah.  I love it when people hope and predict without any real world market knowledge.  I hope the price rises too, but don't act like a fucking fool, you idiot.  I'm ready ... Tell me when you would rather be a fool?  Times up ... You are a fucking tool, that's why.  Tool's will GO!

The only thing that is hard in bitcoin is to see you capital turning down specially, if you are a newbie one. But the procedures, I think it can handle it even a new person in cryptocurrency as long as he has a determination to learn whether personal or with guide of internet.

And please tell us how this is different than any other high risk investment.  LOL ... Hmmm ..... Enough said.
