Going to be interesting to see how a Cuban backed crypto project will perform. It will definitely have its pump as the publicity is just too strong to be ignored but we will see how sustainable the whole concept is. It really depends on how good the platform will be. There is only so much Cubans name can do for it, the rest is up to the core team to push the platform to its max. You are right that there is only so much the name Cuban can do for it, but the "so much" will make sure that the project has a huge pump at some point I believe. As far as I see the team is working on schedule so his bump only caused the marketing to explode, maybe the sale to be canceled as well. It's a huge amount of hype. I haven't been following the news too closely so what's the deal about cancelling the sale? Are officials getting in the way because they don't like the hype surrounding Current? What happened now? True,you want community involved,as this project depends on the community.So i would say this is a good indicator. At the end of the day, this is a community-based project, and it will depend on the community for its longevity. From what I see the community is hyping the project a lot  I think that this project deserves even more hype,if anything this is underhyped  Maybe it seems like that because there are so many projects floating around that it's hard to rise above the competition, but I think they are doing ok Definitely. I see a lot of projects that haven't put in half as much effort which are even more famous. This one should be higher on the popularity scale. I agree,this project deffinitely deserves more attention,both here on the forum,and on telegram and other media.But since this is still pre ico phase,im sure once we get into ICO,dubteam will be more agressive with marketing,maybe they re just pacing it. |

Good evening, team and community of the bitcoibtalk forum@ my congratulations on reaching the soft cap. I have a question here: what is going to happen if you don't reach the hard cap? Will it change anything? Your plans? And what are you going to do with the unsold tokens?
I think they just burn unsold tokens and will develop the platform Why would they burn the unsold tokens? I know it's common, but why is it done this way? Tokens are usually burnt as a way to protect the value of those tokens that are sold during ICO phase.There were cases where teams were just dumping all the unsold tokens on the market,basically ruining the price. Thanks for an example for this. I was also wondering the same thing. I thought they might redirect the unsold tokens to some other purpose, like bonuses for beta testers or sth. Sometimes they do that too,but burning is most popular way to deal with unsold tokens lately. Yes, it very popular, but seems like waste of tokens. I guess burning unsold tokens is just most convenient thing for developers to do,and seems like people even like it,as they think all devs will use those unsold tokens to buy lambos. |

Reaching hard cap is a great thing,but not a most important thing.It relies heavily on bonus structure,and many ICO are giving way too big bonuses just to reach that,and in the long it can hurt the project.

About the beta,what will happen with the rating that Skillers will gather,once you finish beta and application goes live?Are they going to keep all their ratings and feedbacks too,or everyone will start all over again?
The good, as well as the bad ratings, should be transferable because, in the end, the ratings are not affected because it's betta. I agree,thats the reason im asking.It would beneficial to keep the ratings,that way you will reward the good Skillers that will help you test the app,and weed out bad ones that you dont want anyway.Win-win situation i think. How satisfied are you with the sale so far?
We have raised over half of our soft cap and we have some big investors lined up which will push up beyond our soft cap. So, its going well especially as we have only just completed day 2 of the sale. I’m liking a lot of things about this FCFL project, and I look forward to meeting Sohrab and team at the LA blockchain event Monday after I get back from NAC3 in NY.
Being a football project on the blockchain – the first such project I’m aware of – bring immediate interest from fans and investors. The activity in this bitcointalk forum is evidence of that – this is by far the most activity I’ve seen for a project that is still a month away from the ICO. And everyone here is asking great questions, not just about the football, but also about the tech and investment details. Super strong community.
And sure starting a football league is a big endeavor, but they already completed the beta test games in Salt Lake City. So they’re definitely not starting from scratch; they’ve done this before, and have the numbers to back up its success -- 8,000 fans attended the first game, and another 200,000 streamed the game on the app. So the demand is there.
The interest from a media coverage standpoint has already been proven, with the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times covering the beta launch game. And the partnerships with Sport Illustrated to cover future games, and Amazon to integrate play calling the app with their Amazon Twitch product. So the partnerships from huge name companies are there.
And the team has said there weren’t many major technical issues with the beta test games. So while a few people have said the white paper didn’t contain enough technical details, things seemed to covered on the tech front. And the interest from fans in using the app to call plays (and everything else it does) is already proven, and the token element I think definitely will incentivize fans to use the app as much as possible to garner more voting power on team decisions.
The team behind the project is outstanding in my opinion.
Sohrab (CEO/founder) is the fundraising expert, he’s raised $20 million in angel and VC financing before, and clearly has all the ins and outs of the ICO process covered. Some people have questioned which exchanges it’s going to be put on etc, but it is my belief that with Sohrab’s fundraising experience you can trust he has that stuff covered.
Ray Austin (cofounder) played 5 years in the NFL and is thus the football guy. Patrick Dees (cofounder) is the gaming guy and he brings a ton of energy. The mobile elements are taken care of with the former GM of Mobile for the NFL, as well as the former Director of Mobile Tech for the NFL. The fantasy sports element is taken care of with the guy who was the former Chief Marketing Officer for FanDuel.
Then they have the VP of Entertainment & Strategic Alliance for Coca-Cola, as well as the Director of Innovation for Caesar’s Entertainment.
And then there’s the former COO of the 49ers, as well the co-creator of Ethereum (Steven Nerayoff).
This team is absolutely outstanding in my opinion, and very well put together from a football, gaming, mobile tech, and entertainment standpoint.
This is clearly a well-put together all-star team, with deep connections in sports, gaming, mobile tech, and entertainment.
The team’s made ICO roadshow stops in Hong Kong, Spain, London, Boston, Idaho, Silicon Valley, and Los Angeles. The work ethic and commitment is there. And the team also seems especially savvy at knowing exactly which specific people to target help spread the word and gain momentum.
The timing of a football league like this is perfect with the XFL coming back in 2020.
There’s other funky cool elements to the game itself, like drone cams, helmet cams, mics on players, TD celebrations being encouraged, teams having to go for it on 4th down, etc.
