283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NRS|NoirShares] POW ENDING at 50k | DACs | MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE 6/23/2014 on: September 03, 2014, 09:16:26 PM
Hey guys,

I think I need to clarify the differences between the leading vote options.

OPTION 1

"Yes build on top
by barwizi"

This option basically means that Noirlotto, any other DAS/DAC, and GF shares are put on top of the NRS blockchain. In the case of Noirlotto this means that it will use NRS as its currency, in turn increasing
the demand for NRS. This would be the same for most DAS/DAC's. The GF shares on the other hand are colored coins on top of the NRS codebase. There is no loss of GF share value, in fact they are now exchangeable as tokens.
This also makes payout to GF holders much more automated.

This option also involves a NRB relaunch, with a few features, new algo, and redesign. All of which is near done. After the relaunch NRB will only be slightly maintained by NG. Only critical updates. We then give NRB holders
a SMALL (maybe 1%) of NRS in a merge for the big NRS update. So, we keep our promise to the NRB, and give them a little bit of NRS.

OPTION 2

"Merge NRB and NRS and make a new one using them as a sharebase
by root1"

This option is the SAME as OPTION 1 besides one thing. No NRB relaunch. What difference does that make? It means giving NRB holders a much bigger % of the NRS in the merge to keep our promise to them. This
leads to a loss in value to NRS holders.

Please make sure this is what you want as OPTION 2 is in the lead. If you wish to extend the vote we can.

Will nrb not be reintroduced soon enough with a pow phase?
That's what I've been waiting for.
Hell, I'll lose a substantial chunk of my position by the sounds of how everything will unfold, but you don't see me complaining..
Wouldn't merging tend to increase the price of nrs in turn creating gf holders just as much income as a new chain as they hold nrs and receive gf payments in nrs?

Yes NRB will be reintroduced soon with some new features.
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NRS|NoirShares] POW ENDING at 50k | DACs | MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE 6/23/2014 on: August 29, 2014, 07:15:35 PM
Can the OP be updated with details and time for NEW DAC .

what the finial block and time we need to be holding NRS in our wallet ?

The merge will be delayed. We want to give people more of a chance to prepare as well as update and release a few things.

I will try to translate this for Mario, my German is not perfect though, but hope to get close enough to his intentions, if not please correct me Wink:

Many mistakes have been made and mistakes are still made now. The trust for this is near to zero. Who will become a new COO or if I will be able to vote for him, is not important for me at this moment. Like I already said, the trust is near to zero, it can only improve from this point on.
I want to give you some advise for the road that should be followed, if you are really concerned with NRS and will see the DAC as number one priority, and maybe will have our trust again. You can take my advise or leave it. It will not become worse than it already is. Possibly you also want to earn some money at the side, and will things take 1 or 2 years, that is also ok, but have the guts to tell us then.

I think our new COO is very involved, and hope he will also make his announcements become reality. I understand when someone gets sick and cannot do his work for that reason, or maybe other good reasons. But it is not ok to let deadlines come and go without giving any announcements about what is happening. More even if it is concerning financial balances. COO's are being paid, so they have to keep their deadlines. Or in worst case: cancel the deadline with a very good explanation. To remain silent about that, is unprofessional and people will start to loose trust.

Things have to be done in this order:
1. Questions of investors of NRS must be answered quick, naturally and always, even if they were questioned more than once. That is the most important thing. Everyone must be able to understand what is happening.
2. Stuctured development, do announcements and keep the deadlines!
3. Pay the GF holders that want to sell their share the money that they have put in. There must be enough BTC, as there has been mined for months!
4. The GF holders will have to get their NRS before the merger, because they have really suffered from all this
5. Be open about the finances.
6. OP must be updated

Thanks for translating Frigga! I will be checking this thread often and answering all questions. If I miss a question just let me know in a PM. There will definitely be more structure to our releases and work from here on out. I will be redoing the NRS OP, reddit, and any other source of info. Things will look better and be simpler. I am against buying back shares with company money, that feels too much like liquidating and giving up. These were investments, they carry risk, but my job is to get you a good return on that investment. Do you mean the NRS from the mining op? I will also be taking a look at the premine and GF accounting from the last 6 months or so and make sure everything is ok, and post a summary here.

Hey Chocobo, a little surprised you were not voted on, but I am looking forward to your contributions. Will think about kicking after that  Tongue  Wink

Sounds good haha I appreciate the chance.

Hey guys,

I have recently accepted an officer position with Noir Group. I have been an investor since December, and have followed it closely.
Believe me I understand your frustration as I was not happy about certain decisions and delays from NG, but I would not be here if
I didn't think NG is going to get better. I will be writing a bigger post attempting to explain what went wrong and what needs to change. I will tell you this,
barwizi has not abandoned this coin. Far from it. He has been making changes, and adding features.

We have decided to delay the snapshot for two reasons. The first being that we have a little surprise to release beforehand. The second reason is that I would prefer to give you guys a week
to move coins. So you will get a one week notice when we are ready.

Feel free to ask me any questions. Smiley

First question....WHY WASN'T THIS POSITION VOTED ON BY THE GENERAL FUND?!?!  ALL POSITIONS ARE TO BE VOTED ON AS THEY HAVE BEEN IN THE PAST!!!

Seems Barwizi is appointing his cronies rather than letting investors decide what is best.  Here we go again...

The GF investors can kick me out whenever they please. I think they will appreciate my contributions though.

Can anyone summarize the main reason a store wants to adopt CANN? What are the main benefits for them?

You understand the issues stores have when almost all the transactions are cash? Some large dispensaries are doing $300,000.00 a day. That makes them a nice big target. Cannabis currency will help that a lot.

That makes sense, thank you

"Good morning" everyone.  I just woke up after some much-needed sleep.  Back to the grind but I wanted to step in and let you know how things were going.  A few key prerequisites to having the wallet released needed to be handled one of which being the setup script.  Things are looking good, but still I'm not rushing this - only trying to get it taken care of within a shorter time frame.  I want to make sure everyone has ample time to prepare their miners etc before just tossing it out into the wild also just to keep it fair.  The first 1000 blocks or so are lowered reward anyhow to try to keep that in-tact.

     Regards,

syntaks

Wait its not mine-able yet is it? By the way I am mega disappointed that you chose to open the markets overnight because of a few people that didn't read the OP. Way to screw the ICO buyers by leaving an unlaunched coin open to dumping over three weeks because people want to free their BTC. Couldn't just give it a week or at least let your buyers have a day to weigh in.

It's definitely not a matter of us thinking we can overcome historical patterns just because we believe in ourselves and this project, it's more along the lines of trying to find a happy medium in a fair sense.  At this point I think it would be best to re-evaluate the market after it's actually live instead of speculating the potential worst-case scenario just in the interest of not jumping before we know what we're dealing with.

     Best regards,

syntaks

That is fine. I am still invested. Just think about what I said.

I'm kind of scared to get dumped on by big farm. What will you do to help ico investors?

Is there anyway that you can reduce the block reward?

if it happens, just buy cheap it will go back up. but hey it might be a good idea

What do the dev think about this, maybe it's a good idea?

Clstr reduced theirs from 30 to 3. I really think you guys should look into this. We're tired of getting dumped on by big farms...

This is definitely a valid concern/question in a typical situation but the circumstances here should shed some light on the security of the overall market value:

There's a maximum potential of 14,400 coins mined per 24 hours.  There are 5 minutes between new blocks. 24 hours * 60 minutes / 5 is 288 blocks per day * 50 (the block reward).  The diff adjustment applying to each block in the fashion that it does accordingly (25% up or down) help keep things on an even level.  The scarcity of NEOS combined with it's usefulness, I don't foresee it being something that is dumped too carelessly for a quick return or even wave trading.

Hopefully that helps set your minds at ease some but if not please feel free to voice your concerns even with that being said.

A good rule to go by is that EVERY coin is subject to people seeking quick returns and wave trading. There is no exception. So assume that a large majority of that 14400 will be dumped. Lets also say that NEOS reaches a 1 million dollar market cap (which I believe it will, great proven devs, great features). With bitcoin at $500 that puts the 14400 mined per day at a value of 28.8 BTCish. That is a LOT of buy support needed even if only 70% was dumped. I would suggest lowering the rewards significantly.

I agree with you there and your figures make sense.  I've already sent out a message concerning the lowering of the block reward and I'll keep everyone posted.

     Regards,

syntaks

Well it turns out everyone's wheels were still in motion and we had a chat and this is our response with regard to modification of the block reward:

After discussion, we felt it wouldn't be fair overall.  If we were to lower the block rewards at this stage, it would increase the value of the ICO coins but everyone following the ICO would suffer.  We're not here for a quick buck or to be the brightest flash in the pan and with consideration of the future stability and value of Neos it just doesn't make sense to lower it.  We truly feel that Neos could sustain the necessary buy support to uphold a respectable value.

     Best regards,

The Neos Team

Lowering the block reward actually helps people that chose to hold a coin because of their belief in it. It also hurts post ICO buyers MORE to not lower the block reward here is why:

Once your coin is launched it will pump if there is any interest in it at all and your post ICO buyers are the ones who end up with these coins. Once the volume dies down and people move to the next "in" coin you are left with people who believe in the coin. These are the people who will see the 14400 dumped every day. A pump/high volume period can EASILY sustain a 28 BTC dump from miners. A dry period cant, and the price will drop until the value of that 14400 is low enough for interested people to sustain. I can't tell you what that # will be but it is less that 5 BTC. So your post ICO supporters are left with a coin that is likely 1/5th the price they bought at weeks ago. Your ICO holders are still in profit.

I understand you believe in yourselves and your coin, but you also have to understand trader/miner mentality. Believing that your coin is the exception to these forces only hurts the people that believe in your coin.

Hi, noob question here. What happens when you purchase the ICO? Does Bittrex hold the coins until the wallet is ready at which point the coins get deposited in my Bittrex account?

Once you buy them they are already in your Bittrex account. When the ICO is over, the market for the coin automatically opens and people can begin trading. Neos should rise well above the ICO price if you ask me and by the looks of it many people agree with me.

Usually when a coin is this good its a lie lol. This one has had to code looked over by Bittrex and the Dev did a screencast of the wallet working including the exchange in the wallet.

Plus, he has more features coming. Things are progressing nicely.

so we can trade before the wallet is released?

So if the IPO is bought out in two days will the coin launch in two days? Or is there a 21 day wait either way?
