281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NKN - New Kind of Network on: January 09, 2019, 06:26:15 AM
Hmmm how can i find out if my node is working? I did all the instructions and it seems that its working, but how can i be sure Smiley

I had problems installing the miner, but after I reported a bug in Github it was fixed in a few days.
Version 0.0.8 worked fine and when accessing: http://127.0.0.1:8181/web/#/main from the same
computer wallet is installed to, I can see the walelt syncing and number of earnings there.

The only question which still remain nanswered is: Do tNKN tokens earned on test net have value?
Can they be swapped for normal NKN tokens?
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NKN - New Kind of Network on: January 08, 2019, 05:29:13 AM
sorry to repeat myself, but i did not get any reply:

Is there any benefit when running a testnet node?
Are the testnet tokens usefull or do they have value?
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: January 05, 2019, 11:27:03 AM
Does anyone know if the block time will also be decreased together with the reward?
That could compensate a bit the smaller reward.

Thanks in advance!

I do download  Lethean Linux wallet and ruining it but I'm unable to start the mining. is there any guide?

You mean mining directly from wallet?

If not, take a look here:

https://pool.letheancoin.com/#getting_started

Keep in mind that every pool has some instructions for mining.
Pick the closest to you pool (lowest ping) and check it's instructions.
You can also join the Discord server and receive some help there.

I understand. I will give a brief read in the whitepaper, one more doubt, besides the exchange graviex, have plans to be listed in other exchanges still in Q1 2019?

From what I  know from one of the Devs, there is no point for spreading the
trading on more exchanges now, it's too early.
After the real-world use scenarios are implemented in the platform - then yes.

And platform is planned for release around March - April.

I cheked all secondary pools and it had been mining for tha last two days on Nicehash,
although the setting says it has been mining on Kano.

I got your point and like your purist approach,
will switch again to your pool when I get access.

Hi Kano, I've been mining for a long time on your pool and never had problems.
However since Dec 30th the graph is very unstable and i get rejected shares.
Nothing was changed from my side. Any advice?
As I've said many times, I block IP addresses/proxies that I find using rentals.
Though this single proxy IP address had quite a number of tiny accounts on it - so even more concerning ...

I'm using Mining Rig Rentals as a "router" to change pools if needed.
I use it because I have to request access first, and then wait for approval
before I can access my miner. As a workarround I found that I can use MRR
for both pool management and monitoring without login.
I used high prices so almost nobody really rents my rig.

Is this not allowed?

If you blocked it, where did the TH went for the last two days then?

You are comparing a distributed browser dProxy to a (planned) dVPN.
Difference is significant.

JSE coin mentioned as a good practice in web mining:

The video is quite educational, I advise anyone interested how
things work. JSE ofcourse is an example of the nice coin Smiley
The video help newbies, newcomers in crypto world easily to know how to mine crypto coins, and JSE coin in particular.
Thank you very much for sharing the video on detailed guide to mine JSEcoin.

For some reason, you sound quite like a bot. If you actually saw the video, you should have known it is not a mining guide.

That call of CEO of Bitmex is bullish for Ethereum as he sees $200 coming very soon. That means we may see increase but that will not touch his targeted price but a message of buying was given in his specific style. If you look at his previous calls then can understand how they worked and what actually they were meant for markets.
I  feel listening to our own voice is more important at this moment .. the way crypto is designed its made to combat our dying economy .. we may soon expect Bitcoin's lightning network wallets which would help to create channels between the 2 party and make transfer fast and easier We already have raiden for Ethereum and they are having a hardfork on 16th jan and would add casper in 2020 which isnt very far now...so far BTC  lightning network is maintaining its nodes to reach highest levels. btc & eth are designed to be store of value. While Xrp is meant to make larger amount possible for banking industries
i agree with you but implementation of crypto payment system at all need much more time
for using this system people need to educate about this system reliability or need to find some other way where people can use crypto payment much easy or secure way.
i believe that in 2020 crypto will much more popular and their prices are also skyrocket
right now transferring payment from one to another is much easier through crypto blockchain
people will soon realize that who don't except it right now
Right now many people against Crypto because they are still prefer fiat money but who know the value of blockchain, they know how to use, they are prefer blockchain. Crypto getting famous worldwide but i think people using crypto for profit, for make money double. Less people don't care about prices because they are using platform, using crypto as payment.
Crypto adopted by many big companies so crypto will rise but it will take much time. (2020 or 2025).  Smiley

You are mistaking the terms. Crypto and blochain are two different things.
Companies can easily create their own blockchains and leave all altcoins to die.
The fight right now is which coin will provide the best, easiest to adopt, cheapest to adopt
technologies for a blokchain. All of them hope that some huge company will then buy it for billions.
Simple as that. No cryptocurrency exists for the sole reason of existing (except maybe Yenten and Doge).

Blockchain and crypto can be seen as a huge, crowdsourced startup. And what happens after startups
actually start? Someone buys them or they die. In some rare cases they grow so fast
that they can afford to exist on their own (as Bitcoin did).
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CPU Mining 2018? ??? on: December 27, 2018, 09:26:34 PM
I am mining with cpu until now.

the coin is :
1. CRDS (CREDITS)
2. VRM (VERIUM)
3. WEBCHAIN (WEB)

three above only mineable with cpu, you can search some explanation on they site.

and then STELLITE (XTL) : cpu and gpu mineable, or you can try ZOIN/NOIR

small profit, but I enjoy it ..  Cheesy Cheesy ( I dont have any choice )

You are wrong. Webchain is a cryptonight coin and can be mined with GPU.
It was even added to SRB miner today. I don't know about the rest.
I would recommend uPlexa, because it has the best CPU vs GPU balance.
Amost 50/50
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥⛏️ [MAINNET] ⛏️🔥 uPlexa ⚡️ Browser Based Anonymous Blockchain Powered by IoT on: December 27, 2018, 12:13:34 AM
Yep, this is the best community I've ever seen with a coin!

Here is an explanation from the creator of JCE miner about the CPU vs GPU effectiveness of uPlexa's
Cryptonight algorithm, compared to other CN coins:

Quote
About the Athlon-FX, i'm about to release a CPU version with the backport of the Bulldozer fix and optim, as detected by Unclwish.
Compared to the 33j, it should give you a few extra hashes, on par with the older version 33h

Best CPU algo:
Some maths. The Cryptonight algo is made of three main parts, and a few negligible other:
* Explode
* Scratchpad
* Implode

The 1st and 3rd are simple AES rounds on predictable memory addresses. A non-AES cpu will make it slow, unless using JCE where it would be 35% faster, but still quite slow, and an AES Cpu like the Athlon-FX will make it almost instantly. An AES CPU is like an AES cypher ASIC.

GPU do these steps quite slow, because an EAS round on GPU involves dozens of computations and LDS memory accesses.

The step 2 is slow in both cases.
The CPU are overall very fast, but they compute something like 4, 8, 12 CN hashes at the same time, on a common CPU (ultra-pimped Threadrippers/Xeons of course can do 64 or more, JCE supports up to 256).
GPU do like 500 to 4000 at the same time, so they are overall more efficient.

The trick is to choose for CPU the biggest steps 1 and 3 and the smallest step 2.
The best algo for this are:
* Cryptonight MKT (slightly smaller step 2 than Monero)
* Cryptonight Fast/Masari (better, the step 2 is half of Monero)
* Uplexa (still better, the step 2 is quarter of Monero)

Also, while the normal cache allocation is 2M, Heavy-like algo (Ryo, Haven, Tube...) use 4M and Uplexa use 1M. GPU have such a large memory to work with that the difference is tight, in both case they use all their memory and computing power.
But modern CPUs tend to run out of cache (while old CPUs like Core2 had a lot of cache but lacked cores). Use a twice smaller cache allocation allows to use twice more cores, and often double the performance.

This is why mining Monero on CPU often makes it run at 50% or 66%, while mining on GPU always makes it run at 100%.
GPUs dont' run out of cache because they simply don't really use it (*), they rely on their fast memory. They are designed for this. A CPU has a much slower memory but a very efficient cache.

My advice: technically, mine uPlexa. Just i don't know if its market value will get good, but the algo is fine for CPU.

(*) A typical real-life GPU operation is blitting a 64M texture in a game. In such case, having 256K or 512K cache or even 16M cache is useless. This is why GPUs are designed to work with async uncached fast memory, while CPU are cached and sync.

edit:
Here's the 0.33k CPU Windows (linux comes next)

Very minor revision, with a fix for Bulldozer family on x64 for v8. No other change.

It was all good. then with him disappeared coin. On the web wallet they are not on this. and the transaction history disappeared(((

Please download the new wallet:

OK So I have the latest wallet 1.2.0 and I have 3.46 of coin in my wallet.  Have not mined or opened the wallet in about 5 months.
Now when I do it says I am 23 weeks behind and to the left it says "No Block Source Available".

What is wrong?

Bob

Did you leave it for a few minutes to see if it will connect?
Is there a firewall blocking it? Can you provide
a screenshot? In worst case I can upload the synced blockchain somewhere so you can
download it and replace the old one.

Its's nice to see the community working for uPlexa even during the holidays.
Good work! I can see also that the global hashrate increased further.
if not mining now, it will be harder and harder to mine in the next months.

Happy holidays Smiley
