Interesting or meh?

287  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Avalon 4.1 discarding all work on: September 22, 2015, 11:02:16 PM
Is the device seem to be powered up and working?   It does not appear to show a device.

Are you sure you have right software?  Mine on say's "Avalon Devices" not the Avalon 2..... on my 4.1 pi.
I am using : openwrt-brcm2708-sdcard-vfat-ext4.iso but now I noticed it looks like it came from the Avalon 2 section, do you have a direct link to the iso image I should be using (I am pretty frustrated as I have been messing with this all night but this is pretty funny actually).

Looks like I found it and I have burnt it, it looks way more like it.

LOL I had the same issue with my 2 4.1's and eventually reached out to phil and he sent me his old Pi with the preloaded iso, i wish they were easier to setup.

289  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Would i be better off waiting for the 16nm miners? on: September 22, 2015, 10:57:17 PM
from what ive heard the 16nm chips are not that much more efficient than the 28nm fully custom BM1385
290  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 21 co introducing bitcoin [mining+] computer for $399.99 (unofficial thread) on: September 22, 2015, 10:54:55 PM
It seems pretty spendy for what it is... but then again we dont even know its full capability regarding software and whatnot.

I sure hope the R1 is around $100
291  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: September 22, 2015, 10:52:58 PM
Used DHL and mine is at

5   Clearance event   SHENZHEN - CHINA, PEOPLES REPUBLIC   02:47

Details =>  Clearance is pending as the shipment will be cleared by the importer's designated external Broker.

Should I contact Bitmain ?

EDIT1: Apparently they didn't properly fill all the documents .... hope this is not going to take forever to fix ....
EDIT2: No ones in the same boat ?.
EDIT3: I'm really pissed off ...

I think DHL is one of the outlier companies.. most use FedEx or UPS
292  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Sidehack stick solo pool club on: September 21, 2015, 07:25:29 PM
so with this basically everyone pools their sticks together to one addy and if a block is found the reward is split evenly?  nifty idea, better than using the stick by yourself
293  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool on: September 21, 2015, 07:20:30 PM
Thats why you have the option of PPS.. yeah the 2% fee sucks, but your shielded from the bad luck days.. which seem abundant lately
294  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: September 21, 2015, 03:29:35 PM

295  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] IBM 2880W PSUs - 80+ Platinum & J4bberwock breakout boards/cables on: September 18, 2015, 05:27:17 AM
Just got my PSU from padrino, now just waiting for my s7s to test this beast out

Good to hear, have a number of  kits ready to go and more are inbound if anyone is looking..

Yeah I was shocked how big it is.  Guess you could say the length of two atx PSU but about half the thickness.

I think stacked on its side with two s7 (one on each side) will be perfecto!
296  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: USA only/ I have a box of gear. A surprise box. 0.10 btc ship to all 50 states on: September 18, 2015, 05:25:10 AM

298  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How many light bulbs do I need to change to get 1 petahash. 0.1 btc reward on: September 17, 2015, 03:53:47 PM
I wish theyd make florescent tube miners so I can swap out all everything at the office.. lol they could have a whole line of different bulbs
299  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: September 16, 2015, 11:43:21 PM
I bought two s7's using money on a credit card (converted to BTC) but it has low APR and I get points for using it.. coupled with free electricity I should be alright.  The only reason I can see taking out an actual "loan" for gear would be starting a large farm and needing capital.. but youd have to start off pretty big
300  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool on: September 03, 2015, 07:26:04 AM
